Collette vs Globus

The Low Down

While new to the Australian market in 2017, Collette have actually been operating since 1918. Offering coach touring and small group explorations around the world, you won't find too many Aussies and Kiwis on their trips yet, but clients of ours that haven taken the plunge over the last season have come back with very positive reviews. Collette is very popular in the US and now has offices and support in Australia, Canada and the UK too.

Collette market their trips as 4 star accommodation with 5 star service and inclusions - so if that sounds like your cup of tea, then how about this - Collette also includes a roundtrip home to airport chauffeur service for those within a 40km radius of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Canberra, Darwin, Cairns and Hobart airports.

The Globus Family of Brands, which includes Globus, Cosmos, Monograms & Avalon Waterways are always popular with our clients. Globus offer a premium guided touring experience all over the world, catering mainly for the 55+ market - but like most Operators are open to all ages. Along with their standard itineraries, Globus also have a range of popular European Winter Escapes and numerous faith-based religious tours.

The majority if their trips are centred on Europe, Canada and the USA where they provide 4+ star accommodation, luxury coaches, plenty of meals & inclusions. Our team have enjoyed numerous journeys with Globus including trips to South America, Dalmatia, Mexico and Spain, so we have plenty of first hand knowledge to help you plan your next trip!

Southern Italy & Sicily
4 Star Review from Christine.

Great tour of Sicily with a very professional Tour Guide and most experienced bus driver. Stayed at very comfortable and clean hotels with breakfasts included. Tour included visits to famous sites as well as passage through rural areas with olive groves and citrus orchards and great eating experiences. The tour could have included an archaeological museum or two. On the whole a very enjoyable experience.
The Northern Lights of Finland
2 Star Review from John & Annette.

We just loved Helsinki and the Lille Roberts Hotel which was located in easy walking distance to the town centre and markets. The local Helsinki dining experiences were good especially Emo. A brief introduction to Helsinki and local knowledge shared by our guide was reasonable. Unfortunately, the Lapland component of our tour was misrepresented which did not take into account seasonal variations to the advertised brochure. The tour was lack lustre and had too much individual time. There easily could have been more touring and places of interest included. At no time was our guide at fault; she went beyond the call of duty to make at least one day memorable for our group. Fault with this tour lands in the lap of Collette who sold an expensive tour which did not deliver.
Iceland's Magical Northern Lights
4 Star Review from Peter & Lyn.

We would recommend this tour to anyone wishing to see what Iceland has to offer. We saw some amazing scenery and were fortunate to see the lights even though it rained every day. Our guide was a bit too laid back, disorganised and even bought her granddaughter to our meet and greet meal which we thought was a bit unprofessional. The accommodation in Vik is 7 minutes out of town and set up like a summer camp with dormitory style bedrooms away from the reception and restaurant area. Meals were served buffet style and offered a large variety of tasty options. Be warned that everything in Iceland is very expensive to buy.
Discover Croatia, Slovenia & the Adriatic Coast
5 Star Review from Ros & Lynn.

We have visited most European countries and although all of them are special in their own right, Slovenia and Croatia take first prize for the variety and incredible beauty they offer. This was our first tour with Collette and would use them again. Being met at the airport with a glass of wine was a new and welcome added extra. Kotor, Plitvice Lakes (featured in our photo) and Dubrovnik were the highlights. The tour was well organised, with a Croatian guide and excellent driver, who skilfully navigated the scenic, but high roads. This was a truly memorable trip. Thanks again to Georgie for arranging the trip.
Magnificent Cities of Central & Eastern Europe
3 Star Review from Lynette.

Overall the tour was OK. Hotels and locations of the hotels were good. However some of the coach journeys were long, especially from Budapest to Krakow and Krakow to Warsaw. Could have cut out going to Donaly in Slovakia as we only stopped for lunch there. Seemed a bit of a waste of time as we were then caught up in road works all the way to Warsaw which made the journey very slow. The coach driver and Tour Manager would have been aware of the road works and the day could have been better planned.

Southern Italy Escape
5 Star Review from Clem.

The whole process was great. Jemma is a gem. She was extremely helpful right from our first contact. Silvio the tour guide was sensational. His local knowledge was incredible and much appreciated. Included meals at hotel were only average. Cold eggs and meats at breakfasts were disappointing. Overall we are very happy with the tour and will recommend it to to others.
Israel & Jordan Escape
5 Star Review from Charlene.

This was an exciting and very interesting tour. Loved the places we visited. Our diverse group interacted really well. Would recommend these countries to anyone for a visit. Our guides Tal (Israel) & Suihaid (Jordan) are a credit to Globus.
Scottish Escape
3 Star Review from Ola.

I must say Scotland is a very interesting and a beautiful country full of history, people are friendly and warm. And this trip made me see the things I've wanted to learn and see about Scotland. Our tour guide was fantastic. Her name is Fiona. I appreciate the way she explains the history behind places we went to. Gave us enough time to explore the places we went to and answer all questions asked. Fiona is very helpful and responsive. She helped me find my way to Glasgow airport from Edinburgh. Our bus driver Liz of Edinburgh was fantastic as well. Her driving skills are over the top and I've always felt safe while she was driving. I'd definitely recommend this tour if anyone is interested to discover Scotland for the first time. I enjoyed my time a lot and I'd definitely visit again.
Highlights of Spain & Portugal
5 Star Review from Brenda.

From the pre departure dinner with our tour director Chris, to the end of tour dinner was an awesome experience. Great optional extra experiences. Chris was passionate and knowledgeable. Great hotels. Would highly recommended.
Grand Hawaii Vacation
4 Star Review from Graham & Anne-Marie.

This was our first organised overseas tour. Pat, our Globus Tour Director was very well organised and knowledgable. Tour highlights included Pearl Harbour, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Kona Coffee Living History Farm, Luau and performance by Polynesian musicians and dancers, Waimea Canyon and Iao Valley. We travelled in October and found this to be a good time of the year to be in Hawaii. Our tour group size was 36 which we thought was a satisfactory size as we got to know most of the group. We found the organisation by Georgie at Global Journeys to be very efficient and professional.
