Oceania was absolutely amazing. The food, the employees and cabins were fantastic. A lot better than we ever imagined. Also, the entertainment was top notch. I guess the only negative thing was the size of the showers. Ethan was fantastic. He answered all our questions promptly.

We would go with G Adventures again and refer others to them. Small group tour with an exceptional CEO. All 16 of us knew each other well and everyone helped everyone else. Great fun. Ethan and Global Journeys did a great job too. I wish I had booked at a location suggested by Ethan for our last overnight and not booked online with Clayton Airport Hotel read more outside of Dublin which was a horror show getting to it since there are two Clayton Hotels. Now that is confusing!!

Clare was a fantastic guide and nothing was too much trouble. Scenery was amazing, as was the weather. Hiking was easy.

I really enjoyed this trip and would recommend it. We covered an incredible amount of Morocco in a relatively short time. There were some long days and inevitable compromises that come with such a fast-paced itinerary, but I came away feeling like I’d seen a good amount of an incredible country.

Our guide was knowledgeable, attentive and humorous, read more and he was a big part of making the trip enjoyable. He was always happy to answer questions or help when someone needed something. The only thing I would suggest is establishing a clear meeting point at each destination in case anyone becomes separated from the group.

Generally, I thought the pacing was good. There were inevitably times when things felt rushed, but for the most part that was a reasonable trade-off for how much we were able to experience. The long drives were also handled well, with regular coffee and toilet breaks alongside unexpected stops at viewpoints and places such as rose and argan oil cooperatives. These broke up the journeys nicely and often added experiences I hadn’t expected from the itinerary.

The exception was Day 3, which I think needs some adjustment. We had less than 30 minutes to “see” Meknes, which simply wasn’t enough time to meaningfully experience the city. I would also have appreciated more time at Volubilis, which was one of the highlights of the trip. The picnic stop earlier that day also needs reconsidering. The location has apparently been badly damaged by a flash flood, leaving little shade or anywhere comfortable to sit. Our group generally agreed that we would have preferred to continue directly to Meknes and have lunch there instead.

One aspect of the trip I particularly enjoyed was the insight into Morocco’s traditional crafts and products. We saw silver-wire metalworking, ceramics, leather tanning, weaving and the production of rose and argan oils, among other things. Seeing how these products were made gave us a real appreciation for the work and skill involved.

Food was generally traditional Moroccan fare, with plenty of couscous, tagines and meat skewers, while the larger cities offered more variety. Hotel breakfasts tended to be basic but did the job. I’d definitely recommend bringing a bottle capable of filtering or purifying tap water.

The accommodation varied, but overall I was happy with it. At worst the hotels were basic but clean and comfortable, while at their best they felt authentic and genuinely memorable. The second hotel in particular was a very special place and felt like a “boutique village”.

The desert camp was much more comfortable than I expected but guests should be aware that the tents contain two rooms separated only by a fabric wall, offering little privacy. Several tents at our camp were completely empty, so it would make sense to spread guests out where capacity allows.

The minibus was comfortable considering how many hours we spent in it, with a good amount of legroom. The air conditioning did its best in the Moroccan heat, although it was noticeably more effective in some seats than others. We rotated seats throughout the trip, which kept things fair.

Overall, this was a memorable and rewarding way to experience Morocco. It’s a busy itinerary, but you still finish feeling like you’ve genuinely travelled through Morocco rather than simply visited it. If timed had allowed, I’d have preferred Explore’s longer Morocco itinerary, but this tour is a great option for those shorter on time.
