Initially providing coach touring around Australia and NZ to the local market, APT have grown exponentially over the last decade to now offer trips around the world, and are well known for their European river cruises. Over the last few years APT have introduced small ship expeditions that cruise the waters through Asia, Europe, Canada and off the coast of Kimberley. Catering primarily for the retired market, their trips aren't cheap, but in APT's case - you get what you pay for. Look out for their great Fly Free offers, and Earlybird Savings. The lesser known, but equally popular Travelmarvel, is the sister brand of APT. Positioned as a premium Operator, but a level down from APT with regards to pricing, inclusions and the age of it's river ships. Beautiful new boat APT Solara. The food the staff and the unlimited drinks all excellent. Multiple Restaurants but dining at 3 is by invitation only. The Captains Table is excellent but the Bistro offers the widest choice and the most flexible seatings si it was preferred by many by the end if the trip. The Seabourn Pursuit was a gorgeous ship with beautiful cabins, great food and food options, lovely bars, great entertainment and of course interesting zodiac based excursions to reefs, rivers, waterfalls and bird sanctuaries.
The average age was probably around 70 but everyone mixed well and everyone seemed very happy with all aspects of the cruise.

The Seabourn staff were all fabulous with great entertainment crew, bar and restaurant staff. The ship was always so clean. Special mention to the Captain Ertan who was so friendly and approachable. The staff has so much respect for him and his warmth and professionalism showed through all levels of the crew.
Thank you to Hannah from Global Journeys who recommended it. We certainly would never have had this amazing experience on the other cruises we were looking at.

Would certainly book with Global Journeys again, as Hannah Perry, our travel consultant was always prompt in responding to any queries or concerns, gave us a very good price for our luxury cruise & also had us upgraded to a higher deck on ship, Seabourn Venture. Can’t recommend her enough! As for cruise itself, we are probably not as enthusiastic even ...read more though ship was luxurious, with exquisite food, beautifully presented & staff were excellent, as we found it difficult to relax. You always had to be at lecture or on excursion! While majority of shore excursions were well organised & interesting, there were definitely others that were tiring & involved much effort to get from ship to shore for little purpose - (Brock!) Last day was especially exhausting with morning activity & long afternoon bus trip, when majority of passengers needed to organise luggage to depart ship early next morning.
We were welcomed onboard to this beautiful river ship by a lovely gentleman who escorted us to our suite straight away. He explained how everything worked, and wished us a great cruise experience. We were fortunate to have great weather throughout the cruise, and at times just enjoyed the facilities of our ship to escape the heat, and watch the countryside drift by from our room or from any of the view points onboard. What an amazing holiday, adventure experience we had. It was a last minute decision and it was a first time booking with Global Journeys and APT. Professionalism from beginning to end, my dietary requirements were never a problem and I had fantastic meals. The trip overall was wonderful. The driver was awesome and very knowledgeable about all aspects of Ithe places we saw. He even had to do some repairs to the coach. My main concern was that the travel details from Travelmarvel arrived too late. We were both packed and I had actually started my holiday having left home in Melbourne to Brisbane. We ...read more then realized we had to repack in a different case as a hard case would not be accepted. I also did not receive my name badge as this came after I left home. We were also not given the opportunity to pre book for the extra trips; eg. eco tour on ferry and the helicopter ride.
The cruise was very enjoyable. Visited many interesting places. Disappointed we did not get to Anzac Cove due to fires but the alternative visit to Troy was very good. Trip was good value for money. Fabulous 7 day cruise on the Douro River with Travelmarvel. Very beautiful Valley - endless terraced grape vines and winerys. Beautiful ship. Estrella and great staff.. included drinks with lunch and dinner plentiful- drinks at other times very reasonable.. From the initial email and website enquiry the entire process was easy, unhurried and understandable by us both. Travel arrangements to the start of the cruise were well planned and easy enough considering the distance and total time it took to reach the start point. Throughout the cruise our director Benedik kept us all up to date and organised. Too many highlights to mention, but certainly enough to consider another Travelmarvel cruise and the input from Global Journeys to get us there and back.
The itinerary and cruise itself was superb. The Greek Islands are lovely - and the visit to Kusadasi and Ephesus we especially enjoyed, as well as a memorable visit to Gallipoli. Perfect weather, great food and good times all round.
We have just returned from our Travelmarvel Kimberley cruise. We have only positive things to say, well organised, fantastic crew, and expedition team. Whilst the ship is over 30 years old, it never felt that way, and presents very well.
