Back-Roads
At Blue-Roads we have over 30 years’ experience in creating small group tours that focus on forming experiences that immerse our passengers in some of the most incredible destinations in the world. Our dedicated mini-coaches enable us to travel the back roads, avoiding motorways and taking you to the heart of our destinations. We pride ourselves on delivering truly unique travel experiences through expert local knowledge, carefully curated cultural experiences and hand-picked boutique accommodation.

Our tours appeal to those looking for a more relaxing style of travel, and who enjoy culture, good food, meeting like-minded people and exploring destinations in depth. We welcome first-time travellers, but also find that many of our passengers have travelled with us before!
Bunnik Tours
Bunnik Tours is a family business with a focus on crafting itineraries that really get to the heart of all that a destination has to offer through a balance of organised sightseeing, special local experiences and time for independent exploration. We know that some of the best experiences are when you wander away from the group and make your own discoveries.

In creating our small group tours, we are driven by two guiding principles. First, everything we do is about your experience, which is why we only run tours with a maximum of 20 people – that’s less time waiting, more time exploring. Second, when done properly, tourism can be an incredible force for good that generates economic and social benefits in the places we visit.

Sicilian Delight 2 Splendours of Sicily , NSW, Australia, Nov 2025
This tour combines both the ancient history of Sicily and the culture of the Sicilian people through their food and living traditions. It included unique accommodation such as an Olive Farm and a previous Monastery as well as beautiful hotels. One other highlight was a five course degustation luncheon with matching wines on the slopes of Mt Etna. Included read more in the tour is also visits to community programs fighting against crime and teaching young people the art of early chocolate making. These, as well as many other activities, were achieved without long days of travel which is the disadvantage of many larger tours.
Leisurely Puglia tour 1 Secrets of Puglia , QLD, Australia, Oct 2025
This was my 1st Backroads tour. This is a regional tour visiting some lovely scenic towns. Lecce was my favourite: biggest town we visited with wonderful limestone Baroque architecture. We stayed in a lovely palazzo here. Very energetic, fun, tour leader. A full group of 18. Bus was very cramped and not comfortable. Thank goodness we weren't travelling read more long distances. My gluten free diet request was well catered for at all hotels and included dinners. The last 2 hotels we stayed in were quite basic. I am usually a solo traveller. On this tour I travelled with a Canadian friend. We prefer a busier, more active style of travelling. I felt this tour was more suited to couples rather than solo travellers. This was the 2nd of 3 tours over 6 weeks that I arranged with the friendly and professional assistance of Georgie and Hannah.
Definitely a back road tour! 0 Paris to Nice Through Vineyards and Mountains , NSW, Australia, Oct 2025
Vineyards and Mountains Back Roads Tour was definitely that and the back roads were stunning. We loved the wine experiences, talks and tastings in Chablis and the champagne district. The cheese making was another very informative day on the edge of The Alps. The mountains, then the Alps and then the high plateau and gorges going on down to Provence were read more spectacular. We loved the way the guide could slightly change the itinerary on the journey to suit the clientele and these changes obviously had the permission of Head Office. Our experiences were uniquely French ad a very satisfied group found the tour inspiring and educational. Thank you.
The most wonderful tour! 0 Paris to Nice Through Vineyards and Mountains , TAS, Australia, Oct 2025
Everything about this tour was wonderful. The scenery was amazing, even more spectacular than I could possibly have imagined. The backroads company certainly lived up to their name and we took the most scenic routes through villages and mountains. The pace was great, we had enough time to savour the experience and not feel rushed. Our tour guide Eva read more was the best and our driver Kasper was also very good. The group size was just right and made for a very enjoyable time together. The booking process through Global Journeys was also easy. Thanks for a wonderful experience!
Wonderful Sicily 1 Splendours of Sicily , NSW, Australia, Sep 2025
Lovely trip to Sicily with Back Roads Touring. The itinerary was perfect, a good amount of organised tours versus free time.
We loved the organised tours, from olive farm stay to a day in Taormina. The small group was perfect, 13 of us, small enough to get ti know everyone is 10 days. Our tour director Davide and our coach driver, Giovanni were very read more friendly and knowledgable. The hotels to my surprise were first class mingled with classic stays. The included lunches were fabulous, wine and food were first class and situated in lovely areas, only small coaches could get into. I would highly recommend Back Roads Touring and look forward to our next adventure.
Kent -Garden of England tour 0 Kent: The Garden of England , VIC, Australia, Sep 2025
This was a most enjoyable, relaxed Back Roads small bus tour. Especially as the tour group was reduced to half its expected size with last minute cancels. The chosen venues and accommodation were particularly good...each interesting and varied...from Castles to haunted smuggler taverns. Our tour leader and driver were very experienced with the Kent read more area and had to make some travel adjustments along the way using the smaller 'back' roads and laneways...no problem.
We would thoroughly recommend this six day tour from London to anyone with a week to spare in the UK.
Well-paced Sri Lanka Trip   0 Sri Lanka In-Style , NT, Australia, May 2026
The ‘Sri Lanka In Style’ trip was informative, well organised and offered diverse experiences across vibrant landscapes. Highlights included visits to ancient ruins, wildlife rich-national parks, a tea plantation in misty tea-covered hills and small village offering mount-watering local delicacies. The local guide (Thushara) was friendly and approachable read more and generously shared knowledge about his country with the group.

The bus was large, brand new and had a water cooler on board. Complimentary wifi and charging ports were also available on the bus. The bus driver (Dushan) and his assistant (Tharindu) also took fantastic care of us throughly the entire journey.

This compact tropical island packs a punch and is definitely worth travelling to, best done ‘in style’. Accommodation standouts were Shangri-La Colombo, Le Grande Galle and Water Garden Sigiriya.
Northern Italy & Crotia   0 Northern Italy, Slovenia & Croatia , NSW , Australia, May 2026
What a wonderful holiday destination. This Bunnik tour had everything. Amazing cities, quaint villages, snow capped moutains, beautiful lakes & waterways and of course included a 7 night cruise on a small boat sailing the Adriatic. Very special. Accommodation was 1st class, guides very knowledgeable, Klemin in Italy, Nina on the cruise. Bus drivers read more very competent. We had a fabulous time and would highly recommend this trip.
Amazing Sri Lanka   0 Sri Lanka In-Style , QLD, Australia, Apr 2026
Our trip flowed smoothly from the moment we landed in Colombo. The people of Sri Lanka were gentle, charming and eager to ensure our experiences were memorable. Our accommodation was superb throughout the trip and food and services were first rate.

Our tour guide, Charmi, introduced us to a wide variety of Sri Lanka’s culture and history and we read more gained some understanding of life in Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan countryside and our adventures in the National Parks were wonderful. Ten out of ten for this trip.
Japan Discovery 0 Japan Discovery , VIC, Australia, Apr 2026
This was our 9th trip via Global Journeys and once again Georgie did a fantastic job taking care of our tour arrangements. This latest Japan tour with Bunniks was our first with them and we found the care and organisation by our friendly tour guide Eiko to be excellent. The accommodation sites were very convenient to all facilities and were top quality read more hotels. All travelling arrangements throughout our journey, which included 4 bullet train trips, were timely, comfortable and well organised by Eiko.

We enjoyed the many cultural activities which were fun to do with everyone being hands on and enjoying the experiences. The large crowds at some places took a bit off a shine of 1 or 2 particular visits however overall were very happy visiting all the sites on our itinerary. We had a wonderfull small group who mixed well and made our trip enjoyable. Would recommend travelling again with Bunnik.
Memorable tour of the 5 Stans   0 5-Stans , NSW, Australia, Apr 2026
What a wonderful experience this tour was! But, I'll start with Global Journeys' service first. As always, Tracey provided outstanding service, from the initial enquiries about the tour to the point of departure, making sure we have timely and up-to-date information at a time when the international travel faced a number of challenges. The tour itself read more was very well designed. The itinerary covered the key sights, while also including interesting local experiences and providing sufficient free time for travellers to pursue their own interests. The accommodation and the meals were also very good or excellent. The local guides were both knowledgeable and passionate about their respective countries and cultures. The five -stans were literally the heartland of the Silk Road's trade and cultural exchange between the East and West, so there is an abundance of landmarks that testify to the rich history of these Central Asian countries. And then, there are the out-of-this-world landscapes, which alone would be worth travelling for. Despite the last minute changes to the flights necessitated by the global situation, everything went well. We felt safe and well taken care of throughout our travel.
A fun small group tour of Japan   0 Japan Discovery , NSW, Australia, Mar 2026
The Bunnik Japan Discovery tour is a great tour especially if it is your first time to Japan. We visited a lot of interesting cities by both bus and bullet train . The cherry blossoms were in full bloom ( end of March beginning of April.). The tour included a lot of cultural experience which gave us a better understanding and insight into Japanese history read more and way of life. The small group number made it easier to get around the tourist sights and maximise our time sightseeing. I can recommend this tour for those who are prepared to do some walking . It is however a tour that is well paced so as not to be too difficult .
