Exploring South Africa, Victoria Falls & Botswana

We felt very safe and well managed on our trip to South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana. Our only disappointment was the lack of animals, in particular in Pilanesburg N Park. Having 5 safaris there was too many for such a poorly maintained road system. We all struggled with how rough the tracks were and the lack of animal sightings didn't help. The lodge read more was also not to our taste - too snooty. The Wallow Lodge and Chobi lodge were much better for our tastes. I will go back and do at least one more safari trip but will research the parks being offered in much greater detail before committing.
It was an awesome trip to Italy. I would highly recommend this tour, as we were able to do and see a lot. The tour guides were awesome throughout the trip, and our tour manager was just as great as well. It is very hard to choose a highlight during the trip because every place is very unique in its own way. I would tour with Collette again, as they made the trip super easy!!

Just got back from the most incredible trip through Tuscany and Umbria with Collette, and I honestly can’t stop smiling! Everything about this tour was fantastic — the places we visited, the food, the people, and the whole vibe. I was travelling solo, but it didn’t feel that way for long. There was such a great mix of people, and by the end of the trip, read more we all felt like family. Our tour manager was amazing — super organized, fun, and full of great stories and local knowledge.
The itinerary was spot on — a perfect balance of sightseeing, relaxing, and soaking up the culture (and the wine!). Huge shoutout to Hannah from Global Journeys for making everything so easy from start to finish. She handled all the details and made sure the whole process was smooth and stress-free. If you’re thinking about visiting Italy, I can’t recommend Collette and Global Journeys enough. Honestly one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had!

Just got back from the Old World Sicily & Malta tour with Collette, and overall it was a fantastic experience! The itinerary was amazing — stunning places, great food, and the perfect mix of sightseeing and downtime. I was travelling solo, but honestly, it never felt that way. There was such a great group of people, and by the end, we all felt like read more family. So many laughs and fun moments along the way! Our tour manager was a really lovely guy, but it was his first tour with Collette, so he was still finding his way a bit. He tried hard (and even used Google a few times to help out, which gave us all a chuckle!). While it wasn’t quite up to the same level as my previous Collette tours, he had a great attitude and was genuinely kind.

She made the whole process so easy from start to finish, handled everything perfectly, and kept me in the loop the whole time. A good tour. Damiano was a good tour director, was very helpful when we got stuck in Milan after our train to Zurich was cancelled due to flooding. Got to Zurich but again missed the first day of the tour. Some hotels were disappointing. The meals together were OK nothing special. Thought we should of had professional guides in some cities instead of read more Damiano being guide. His English is ok but maybe a guide would of been better.
The highlight of this tour was the trip on the Bernina Express. The scenery was 'wow' factor around every corner. The tour was very well organised and ran smoothly. The bus driver, Enzo, was an incredibly careful driver, especially as some of the roads were very high, with difficult bends. The main guide, Dario and local guides were all excellent. read more The hotels were of superior quality. As a suggestion, it would have been preferable to have one less day (3 night stay) in Lake Maggiore and instead stay one night at Lake Como, as we drove straight past and only caught glimpses of the Lake.
The visit to the cheese farm before reaching Lake Maggiore should be reviewed. It was a little disorganised and too long, although in fairness, it was their first time in hosting tours. The conclusion of the tour in Lucerne meant that all passengers had the additional cost of taxis to Zurich, for the flight home, as Lucerne does not have an international airport. Perhaps the tour could have terminated in Zurich, were it commenced.

Happy to leave a review- it was fantastic- very well organised, great host (Marco). This year marks a Jubilee Year in the Catholic Church (every 25 years), a time of grace, renewal, and pilgrimage. One of the most moving experiences was crossing the Four Holy Doors in Rome - at St Peter’s Basilica, St John Lateran, St Mary Major, and St Paul Outside read more the Walls. These doors are only opened every 25 years. Two of the highlights for me was processing the pilgrimage cross across St Peter’s Square and attending the Papal audience.
In Assisi, I walked in the footsteps of St Francis and St Clare, whose lives of humility, service, and joy continue to inspire. The town itself radiates peace, and visiting the Basilica of St Francis - where his tomb lies - was a moment of huge reflection. My only criticism- we didn't have enough time in this town. We had a three course lunch - lovely - but would be better to grab a sandwich and see more.

Standing beneath Michelangelo’s dome in St Peter’s, standing in the Sistine Chapel, praying in the crypts of saints, and witnessing the living faith of pilgrims from around the world (including half a million young people who were in Rome at the same time for World Youth Day!).
As a Principal in a Catholic school, this pilgrimage wasn’t just a personal journey - it was a professional and spiritual renewal. It reminded me of the sacred responsibility I have to nurture faith, learning, and community. I return with a renewed sense of purpose, ready to continue building a school where every child is known, loved, and inspired and where we nurture hearts, minds and spirits. Thank you for organising.

Best tour I have been on. Tour Manager Claudia from Collette was excellent. Bus was comfortable and hotels 4 star. Tour was well organised with daily updates from Claudia including summary of day’s activities and next day. I loved all of the tour. Highlights was gin factory, winery, picnic at Monchique, Algarve caves Cruise, Lagos, Cascais and Sintra. read more Highly recommended for all ages and great value. I look forward to my next adventure with Collette.
My sister and I have just returned from Europe after doing this tour. We loved it with the highlights being Lake Bled in Slovenia and Plitvice Lakes in Croatia. Hannah looked after us very well (as usual)!

Overall, everything was fantastic. Apart from the issue with the whale watching wish was 100% the fault of the operator and as previously advised a refund is forthcoming.
We loved this tour with Tom O'Toole as our delightful tour manager & Lee our excellent driver. The Dingle Peninsula was spectacular, as was Fort Angus on the Aran Islands & the boat trip along the Cliffs of Moher. The Rock of Cashel was also stunning. We really enjoyed our visit to Garnish Island, the Irish National Stud & Midleton's Distillery, they read more were all highlights. This tour delivered everything & more, it was such a great time. Thank you Tom!

Spotlight on Northern Italy

Our tour manager Antonia was fabulous & helped make this tour memorable for all the right reasons. Also the coach driver Andrea was excellent. We really enjoyed our day in the Dolomites & Cortina, this was spectacular. We would have liked to see more of Murano & found the demonstration a little disappointing. It was only after we left we heard there read more was a glass museum on Murano which we would have really enjoyed seeing. Most of our meals were enjoyable but the restaurant in Venice was very noisy & the food not special at all. Our hotel Carlton in Treviso was really good & a great central spot for our daily excursions. The farewell tour & meal at the Villa was excellent & such a highlight. Overall a really enjoyable tour, thank you.
The tour met our expectations. It was well paced and we did not feel rushed. Accommodation was good and well located.

Spectacular South Africa

It was our first trip to South Africa but not our first time to use Global Journeys and Collette. We had a great time and were happy with our tour. The places and experiences covered in this journey were all enjoyable and memorable; from historic and educational Johannesburg, exhilarating Kruger National Park, scenic George Knysna Stellenbosch and Franschhoek read more and beautiful Cape Town, they were so diverse and all interesting places to visit. Hotel selection was very good, they were all in good location, close to where the main attractions are.
Happy with our fellow travellers as well, we always find nice people in our trip. Have to mention our local tour guide in Johannesburg - she was very passionate and knowledgeable. Guess the only thing that’s not memorable to us was the smell of the bus we used from George to Cape Town (only confined in the seats near the bus toilet though) - not fresh smelling for sure. But all in all, that didn’t take away the enjoyment we had on our trip. We thank Global Journeys and Collette for organising this tour and we look forward to travelling again. Will surely recommend this to our friends.

From the moment we booked with Collette and Global Journeys, it was a seamless experience. We were regularly updated on every aspect of our trip, from flight details, check in information, tour group numbers, hotel information at each stop etc. We knew every day the full itinerary on where we were going and staying. Our tour manager George was amazing. read more He was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. He actually made the trip as fantastic as it was. We were very lucky to only have 6 people on our tour so we all became friends very quickly. One of the highlights were the monasteries in Meteora and the stay in a small town in Nafplia which was just stunning. We managed to fit so much into our 10 day tour it was just brilliant. I can’t recommend this tour highly enough. It was so good, I’d do it all over again. The main highlight of our tour was becoming engaged in Athens. A very magical place and will forever be special to us. We can’t wait to come back to Greece to see some more of this beautiful country.

The trip was absolutely amazing. Most of the accommodation was fantastic & the hospitality staff were so friendly, they bent over backwards to give us the best service we've ever had. Our guide was absolutely wonderful & my fellow travellers were a great bunch, made up of Australians, Americans & Canadians. I would definitely travel with Collette again read more & I would have no hesitation in booking through Global Journeys again.
Hi. If I’m going to be completely honest here, I was somewhat disappointed in this tour, don't get me wrong there were some fab times we had as well. Day One- the "included" breakfast was utterly terrible to the point where we didn’t eat it, and to the fact that we were sharing the breakfast buffet with another tour. The badlands was great we had a read more wonderful time here. The wall drug slop stop, for the money we eat in cafeteria? Couldn't understand this.
The night we were taken to another sub average hotel to eat yet another average meal, again I stress the point for the money spent, a) we are given a limited choice of food, b) told there are no modifications. c) the meal that was served wouldn't have fed a two year old, it was cold and average, a sharing plate of processed meats as a start.
Day Two & Three - Someone made the executive decision to take us elsewhere for breakfast which was very nice. The sight seeing was great, however I soon realized that we are not allowed to really stop in the bus in a National Park (I could be wrong here) or were we allowed off the bus, again my point to the money spent and all photos being taken from the window.
Day Four & Five - Tour was great, a lot more driving than I anticipated, Cody was great, would have been even better along the way if we were told that there are other things going on in the town i.e. Rodeo, but no, our meal was in a bistro of a hotel. Given there are so many places to eat along the way yet, the included meal is in the hotel.
Day 6 - This is the day that I calculated we were driving in a bus for approx. 8 hours. I’ll say no more the accommodation here was great the hotel staff and food were lovely.
Day 7 - Was great until we went to heart mountain (this could have been day 6). I would strongly suggest that this is an optional stop, I did not see this on the itinerary nor did I want any part of this, I actually can not describe how mortified I was at what I sat through, If you wanted to top off a good week, this just knocked it all over. I feel this was the most inappropriate tour stop I have ever encountered. At this point to be honest I was pretty much over the whole tour, I avoided the chuck wagon dinner (thank god) I was told I would have not been impressed, people were having to be driven back down. So overall I was very disappointed
Food- 1/10. Tour Leader - 10/10. Coach Driver- 10/10. Overall tour experience 3/10. If I’m going to be honest, I would probably never book with Collette again. Other tour members were saying that had been on many Collette tours and never had anything so sub par. Sorry to be so negative, but I’m being honest.

Collett tour itinerary was excellent Hotel stays were not bad, some bedding was poor quality. Tour bus was horrible, small bus with little comfort, shocking suspension, very rough. Meals were very good. The island of Salina was the best.
Cruising the islands was the true highlight of this trip. We loved going ashore in the evenings and exploring local fare in a great variety of restaurants. The boat was excellent with friendly staff, good food and a relaxed pace down the coast. We enjoyed swimming off the back on several occasions. Ports were getting busy and early June is as late as read more you would want to take this trip. Or wait till October. Have a decent budget for onshore meals. Our only gripe was a bit of penny pinching by Colette, with only one glass of wine with included dinners and rather expensive options. Would still do it again in a heartbeat.

My friend and I had a great time on this tour. We loved our tour manager Rosario, he was excellent and showed us elements of Sicily & Malta that we could never have done on our own. We also loved our bus driver Antonio, he also was excellent and had the added bonus of being a great musician, entertaining us when he finished driving for the day, much read more appreciated! We met new friends in our lovely group of 22, they were fun and interesting, mostly from USA with a couple of other Aussies. We were very sorry to leave them all & plan another tour for hopefully next year. Our hotels, guides & pre planned meals were all top notch. Thank you.
