Explore
Explore has been taking small groups on adventure holidays all over the world for almost 40 years. The expert team, at home and overseas, works together...more to create itineraries that leave you feeling that you’ve really explored a destination rather than just visited. You’ll see the highlights, the must-sees, of course. But you’ll also get away from the beaten track, and get a different perspective on your destination. You’ll get closer to a place, its people and cultures. Our small groups are typically 12 people – small enough to get right into the heart of your destination, but big enough to find like-minded people to share your experiences with. And the glue that holds these groups together is our local tour leaders, who are uniquely placed to add individual and spontaneous moments to each trips – moments that stay with you long after you return home. All sorts of people travel with Explore – our groups are usually a mix of solos, couples and friends. What unites them is their adventurous spirit and thirst for real travel experiences. We provide authentic small-group travel, designed by experts and led by experts, with sustainability at its heart and a common desire for unforgettable experiences. Whether you’re on a cultural tour of Lebanon, cycling in Vietnam, walking in Italy or exploring Costa Rica with your family, when you’re travelling with Explore you know that you’re in good hands.

Best of Italy Tour   , QLD, Australia, Oct 2023
Our “Best of Italy” tour with Intrepid Travel was fabulous. We went to so many wonderful places on this tour & our tour leader, Lucrezia, was wonderful throughout our tour. Tracey Standing with Global Journeys who we booked the tour through, was very helpful & always available for any queries we had. Travel by Train in Switzerland - WOW   , NSW, Australia, Sep 2023
Well organised tour. The logistics of moving 47 people on and off trains to a strict timetable would be a nightmare, but Carolyn our guide, handled all aspects in a professional and friendly manner. This tour is not relaxing, but you do get to see some magnificent scenery throughout the Swiss Alps. Early mornings and punctuality is a must, but totally ...read more worth it!
Great Scenery and Culture But the Trains?     , NSW, Australia, Jul 2023
To tour the two countries (Sweden & Norway), was great because you could see the similarities and appreciate the differences. It was not too onerous a pace and we had time to look at museums/churches and other points of interest in our free time.
The itinerary was good. We had a variety of experiences. It was good to get to the north of both countries. ...read more We appreciated the culture in Sweden and the landscapes in Norway. The breakfasts at the hotels were amazing and the comfort was good.

Our tour leader was amazingly affable and made sure that we were as comfortable as possible and that we were enjoying the tour.
We were a little disappointed in the trains - they are not tourist trains which meant you did not always have a good window to see the country-side. Whilst this was not as important in Sweden as it was in Norway. In the end, we felt a tour by coach would have been as good.
Switzerland is Amazing   , WA, Australia, Jul 2023
Switzerland by Rail was a great insight into Switzerland and well worth a fortnight holiday in one country. However, APT left a lot to be desired and I will personally not travel with them again. Fabulous hotels, but as a Solo traveller (hence pays a big single supplement), always seemed to get a very small back room. I kept feeling that APT were cutting ...read more costs. The meals were acceptable but always a set menu, take it or leave it, no choices. One tiny glass of wine included in the dinner was pathetic as that, on most occasions, was finished before the meal was even served. Again, cutting costs at our expense.
