Caves and castles   Beautiful Slovenia & Croatia's Istrian Jewels , NSW , Australia, Jun 2026
I was reluctant to book another Albatross tour due to a previous negative experience with a tour guide however current tour guide Vili and bus driver Boris restored my faith. Vili is a local from Istria so had extra knowledge and added personal touches to the tour. We had 13 people on a huge coach and I chose Albatross as it was the only tour company read more that went to Plitvice, Lake Bled, Postojna Caves and Predjama Castle. Starting in Vienna and ending in Trieste enhanced following the Habsburg journey. Sadly some of the fellow travellers always had to be the center of attention and I prefer tours that draw a variety of nationalities who seem more tolerant and open minded to other cultures, but this had the best itinerary for what I wanted to see...Grace ensured the booking was smooth so thank you.
Scenic Slovenia and Croatia   Discover Croatia, Slovenia & the Adriatic Coast , QLD, Australia, Jun 2026
I had the best time on this tour in the beautiful scenic countries of Slovenia and Croatia. This was my first time travelling with Collette tours and I couldn’t have been happier. We visited beautiful places such as Ljublijana, Lake Bled, Plitvice Lakes, as well as the historical and interesting old towns of Split and Dubrovnik on the Adriatic Sea. read more There were guided tours in each place.

We also had lots of fun experiences from exploring little hill top villages, farm to plate lunches, sampling local tasty produce, liquors and wine and little surprises along the way with unexpected extras such as visiting a war bunker and an old salt mine. We had great accommodation and breakfasts in all stays!

Our tour manager Sonja was excellent and being from Croatia gave us great insights into the countries and cultures. Our driver was very safe and professional. All fellow travellers, mainly from the USA were friendly, fun and interested in sharing stories with us three Australians! I’d definitely consider travelling with Collette tours again.
Journeys: Discover the Balkans Journeys: Discover the Balkans , VIC, Australia, May 2026
My third trip with G Adventures (including National Geographic Expedition/Journeys), and they've done it again. The Discover the Balkans Tour itinerary struck the perfect balance of culture, history, food and stunning scenery, but Carly (our Tour Leader) made the trip. She was passionate, organised, knowledgeable, full of local insights, and somehow read more made every day feel effortless while creating a genuinely fun and inclusive group. I also met a fantastic group of fellow travellers, which made the experience even more memorable. Three tours in, and I have no doubt I'll be booking with G Adventures again.
Northern Italy & Crotia   Northern Italy, Slovenia & Croatia , NSW , Australia, May 2026
What a wonderful holiday destination. This Bunnik tour had everything. Amazing cities, quaint villages, snow capped moutains, beautiful lakes & waterways and of course included a 7 night cruise on a small boat sailing the Adriatic. Very special. Accommodation was 1st class, guides very knowledgeable, Klemin in Italy, Nina on the cruise. Bus drivers read more very competent. We had a fabulous time and would highly recommend this trip.
Croatia & Albania Escape Croatia & Albania Escape , ON, Canada, Mar 2026
Incredible Balkan Experience Across Three Countries. This tour through Croatia, Montenegro, and Albania exceeded expectations in every way. It was the perfect introduction to the Balkans - diverse, scenic, and culturally rich. In Croatia, highlights included walking through the historic streets of Dubrovnik, stunning seaside boardwalks in Split & Zadar, read more and exploring the stunning coastline along the Adriatic. Montenegro offered breathtaking views in Kotor, with its dramatic mountains and beautiful bay - easily one of the most picturesque stops on the trip.

Albania was a big surprise. The vibrant and progressive capital Tirana gave a unique mix of history and modern energy. The food across all three countries was fresh, flavorful, and very affordable. The itinerary was well-paced, balancing guided tours with free time to explore independently. Transportation was smooth, border crossings were handled efficiently, and hotels were well curated, comfortable and centrally located.

What made the trip stand out was our guide, Viktor Holub - knowledgeable, friendly, funny and passionate about the region. His insights, together with the excellently chosen local guides, gave us interesting information into Balkan history and culture which added a lot of depth to the experience. Overall: This is an excellent tour for first-time visitors to the Balkans who want a comprehensive overview without the stress of planning. Highly recommended.
