- Adriatic Sea Boating Excursion: Enjoy a day trip to the Adriatic Sea, visiting a fishing village where a local fisherman will be waiting with his wooden boat — once used exclusively for fishing. You'll sail around an island and along coastal cliffs as the fisherman points out his favourite fishing and diving spots. This is a great time to swim in the exceptionally clear blue water. If the weather allows, you'll also visit a blue cave and a hidden beach. Upon returning to the port, you will get the chance to enjoy the lunch prepared by the fisherman's wife, and spend the rest of the afternoon basking in the sun on a nearby beach.
Transfer to Dubrovnik for an orientation walk with the CEO, and enjoy free time to explore this picturesque walled city on the Adriatic Coast. Visit the G Adventures-supported Deša project, a non profit dedicated to empowering and employing women in the community.

- Orientation With CEO: Enjoy a brief walk with your CEO. He/she will give you some tips on finding things like supermarkets, main squares, and ATMs. For more specific or in-depth information, an official guided tour is recommended.
- DEŠA Women's Centre Visit: DEŠA is a women's non-profit, founded during the homeland war in Dubrovnik. It is dedicated to empowering and employing women in the area. From their headquarters in Dubrovnik's Old Town, DEŠA runs victim support for survivors of domestic abuse through computer classes, language lessons, cultural preservation activities, and other inspiring programs. During your visit, you will learn about the powerful work undertaken by the women of DEŠA and their network across Croatia working to preserve traditional foods and handicrafts.
- Free Time: Enjoy a free day to explore this beautiful walled city.
Enjoy a leisurely half-day cycling excursion through the region, stopping off for a picnic lunch at the host's vineyard. Free time in the afternoon.

- The accommodation for the week will be in a rustic village located approximately 15 minutes by car from the Dubrovnik airport. The 2-floor villa has four bedrooms for our travellers and one for our CEO. The rooms have a variety of configurations including double and twin beds and en suite or shared bathrooms, so please review your options while booking. Also on site are a fully equipped kitchen, a living room with television, outdoor swimming pool, outdoor terrace and barbecue.
- Note that most accommodation in Europe, including this villa, does not have air conditioning units in rooms. Air conditioning is not routinely installed in European homes and workplaces. However, in this particular place that the group will be staying does include air conditions in its rooms.

We had long wanted to visit Croatia, but to go beyond the busy tourist centers and islands. The Local Living in Croatia tour provided the opportunity to become familar with life on a family farm in Lovorno in the Konovale region south of Dubrovnik. It was an outstanding week in every way - outstanding traditional food and wine, a variety of activities read more in the local area, excellent accommodation, but most of all, hosted by a wonderful extended family in a villa on their property which has been in the family for several centuries. They were so extraordinarily generous sharing their knowledge, their life and family histories, their customs and making us extremely welcome. This must be THE BEST TOUR ACTIVITY EVER! We strongly recommend it to others and thank Global Journeys for facilitating the booking.
