What our clients are saying about their Short Break and City Break experiences
Once again Tracey helped us greatly with our booking. Prior to boarding the Indian Pacific at East Perth terminal, canapés and drinks were served on the platform. As it was a hot day it would have been preferred inside the terminal (air conditioned ). Once onboard the staff were excellent - friendly and helpful. Platinum cabin and service was great! read more Food was excellent too. On board entertainment was provided by a singer/musician who played in the various lounges throughout the journey. Excursions taken were excellent: Curious Kalgoorlie, star gazing at Cook, dinner at Seppeltsfield Winery(wonderful food pairing, dinner and musicians), walking tour with Shelita in Broken Hill(very entertaining and tasty canapés provided).
Journey overnight from Adelaide was a bit rocky due to the tracks otherwise the journey was very pleasant. Was a wonderful journey through varying scenery across Australia. Thank you Tracey & Global Journeys for another great holiday.
Considering the distance from Istanbul to the Anzac sites (5 hours on a mini bus), it was absolutely fabulous. Pickup smooth, trip smooth, comfort stop half way, lunch plentiful, transition to guide smooth. 12 on our bus, Australian, Kiwi, Canadians. Our guide for the afternoon’s tour of WW1 sites was Burak, and he was pure gold. We stayed on for the read more second day (others headed straight back to Istanbul). Gorgeous half hour across the Dardanelles to the delightful surprise of Canakkale. Staff transitioning us across and to our hotel fantastic. We then bar hopped our night away and met the most wonderful Turkish people. Çanakkale was fantastic. Slow morning. Cafe hopped. Short (25 min) bus ride to the ruins of Troy - it was nice, but that’s all. Back across the Dardanelles and to our hotel in Istanbul by 9.30pm, which was ahead of schedule. If you must see Gallipoli, you also must have a night out in Canakkale. Glad we did it.
If you’re feeling like you need time to unwind, a bit of a challenge, a weekend away with the girls (or your partner), and some fresh air, then this getaway ticks all the boxes. This was my first walking trip, it was a great place to start, and hopefully the first of many. The three of us joined a group of 10. We were a little nervous at first, weren’t t read moreoo sure what to expect despite plenty of advice on how to prepare, and we all questioned our own fitness levels beforehand.
For this walk, you stay at the one campsite on Bruny island and only carry a day pack during the hikes. Most of the group had walking poles. They weren’t essential, but after borrowing them over the few days to test out, we could see how much they helped with stability, so they’ll be my next purchase for sure.
Our group, including our two Guides, gelled from Day One, and from there everything just flowed. We walked and chatted and shared all our meals together. The Guides were amazing, one leading, one trailing, always looking out for everyone, sharing insights about the local flora and fauna, and then somehow pulling together delicious three course dinners back at camp. Mornings included cooked breakfasts if you wanted them, or lighter options like fruit, yoghurt and cereal, plus packed lunches organised for the day.
The glamping tents were warm and comfortable, the showers looked out onto the bush, and the pace over the three days was challenging but very achievable. Best of all, you felt completely regenerated at the end of each day. I highly recommend this trip and can’t wait to do the next one.
What a great experience! From start to end Tas Walking Co looked after us so well. Bruny Island (Long Weekend)Tracey Standing, SA, Australia, Nov 2025
It’s been a long time since I’ve done an overnight walk so I count myself as a newbie. The walk was challenging in parts but thoroughly enjoyable. The guides were fantastic – reminding us when to layer up after a hill climb or layer down before a climb with the motto “Be Bold – Start Cold”. They took breaks as necessary for the group and were a wealth read more of knowledge along the way. One of my favourite “wow” moments was when we got to the top of a hill on the first day and they whipped a gas burner and coffee pot out of their packs! Exactly what we needed – a freshly brewed coffee sitting on top of the hill admiring one of those gorgeous Bruny Island views! This was a regular feature each day of the walk.
The guides worked hard – guiding and looking after us through the day on the trails, then cooking amazing, fresh and delicious meals for us in the evening (and pouring our wine!). The evenings consisted of a cheese board and drinks to start, followed by a three course dinner which was cooked freshly in the well equipped camp kitchen, overlooked by us!
Our glamping tents were very comfortable with fresh linen bedding and comfy beds at the end of the long day. Hot water showers were always available (a short walk away) and the loo with a view at the camp was quirky - watching the pademelons going about their business through the huge window!
I loved this trip and can’t wait to book another one. Tas Walking Co were fabulous and I would highly recommend them.
I loved this trip. It was my first walking holiday and a great introduction. From the moment we met our guides in a lovely café in Hobart they showed themselves to both friendly and welcoming and incredibly well informed on the local environment, flora and fauna of Tasmania and Bruny Island.
There were highlights aplenty. The boat ride to Bruny read more was exhilarating in itself but we were cosy under fleece lined waterproof ponchos, On arrival at Bruny, we picked up our packed lunches (delicious) and were off on our first walk taking in stunning scenery and stopping at a gorgeous spot for lunch where our guides took out the camping stove and made freshly brewed coffee! What a welcome treat in the chilly weather. This level of care and service from our guides was prominent throughout the weekend. When out and about, they were mindful of the elements, suggesting when we might want to add a layer or remove a layer depending on the circumstances and when we were at camp they were right there making sure we were well fed and watered.
I’m no camper, but it turns out I can do this type of camping – real, comfortable beds, hot showers and beautiful and tranquil surroundings. The food was amazing – in addition to the many talents of our guides, they were also fantastic cooks and hosts. Almost everything we ate was local, plentiful, and delicious.
I particularly loved trying Bruny Island oysters on the beach shucked straight from the sea with a squeeze of lemon, a very quick dip in a very cold Southern Ocean after a long day of walking and our silent descent down Mt Mangana taking in the sounds of the rainforest around us. I would highly recommend the Tasmanian Walking Company and am very much looking forward to trying another walk soon. If you’re a beginner like me, read their gear list – it is sensible and pertinent. Our guides enthusiasm and love for their environment was contagious and wonderful to see.
Travelling to the Northern Territory and particularly Kakadu National Park is something that I wanted to do for some time. I enjoyed the trip even though it was sizzling hot and humid. We were a group of 12 on the tour from different countries and we all got along very well. The Aboriginal art rock was very interesting. But I would have liked more interaction read more with the First Nation people. And yes, I liked the city of Darwin too.
