So many places and sights that you would not think to go to yourself. Plus of course, all the iconic sights. Our Tour guide Marie was excellent. Very knowledgeable and interesting and very caring of passengers who had limited mobility. She went out of her way to show us hidden gems and extra things and surprises throughout the trip. The meals included read more wine and was very enjoyable. They took us out for a short tour of Paris on arrival and a welcome dinner near the Arch de Triumph as an extra treat that was not on the itinerary. What a great start. Accommodation was very good overall. Highly recommend this Best of France Tour above the more budget priced one. ( It is also worth paying extra for the excursions as they were really good.) We did all but one of them. We would definitely do another Trafalgar tour.
Fabulous trip, great value for money and everything worked like clockwork. Service from your firm was terrific, with all the information we needed provided in plenty of time. They always returned my calls within hours and sent me confirmation emails as well which gave a first time traveller like me confidence to travel. My wife and I had a wonderful time on our honeymoon doing the 'Best Of Italy and Greece' tour. It was amazing. We saw the most incredible places and met some really fun people and our tour guide, Simona, was brilliant. The Best of Italy tour was fantastic. We really enjoyed every bit of it. The Tour Director, Tony, Australian born, fluent Italian speaking man, was the best you could get. His knowledge of the history & cultures of the different regions was amazing. We had 36 on the coach - not a full complement, but we thought it was great. People could spread out read more & everybody in our group was on time, so that made our guide & driver happy. The catering for our Gluten Free meals was wonderful - I have not eaten as much Gluten free pasta in 6 months as I did in 2 weeks in Italy. The hotels were great. Some not as luxurious as others but always central. The coach was very comfortable & the driver very skilled, coping with the mad traffic in Italy, especially in Roma! We felt good value for money and the optional excursions offered were very good. We did almost all of them. All in all a great time. I would recommend Trafalgar to anyone. Global Journeys was very good as well - did everything that they promised.

The tour of East Coast of USA & Canada was amazing. It fulfilled all of our expectations. Tour Director, Ella Johnson was excellent & had a good knowledge of the areas we visited as did the expert guides. Our bus driver, Joe Bayly was a very amiable man & well liked by all tour participants. We loved the tour & hope to do the West Coast of USA at some time in the future.

Our tour of the East Coast of USA & Canada was excellent. An excellent Travel Director (Ella Johnson) with very good information plus insider information made this guided tour one we will never forget. We saw & heard about everything we had wanted & more.
Thankyou for the opportunity to comment on our experience with Trafalgar Tours on our European Whirl vacation in May 2012. Beginning with our booking experience and continuing through the 12 days throughout Europe and ending with our drop off in London we were extremely impressed with the efficiency, friendliness and joyful exuberance of all concerned. read more Even the weather and the passengers with us were great - something that tour operators can hardly be responsible for. The Trafalgar office in London was modern, informative and with the added bonus of free wifi laptops for our use and even a 6am start did not dent our enthusiasm with their support. The Tour Guide - Victor Catllin - was humorous and extremely well informed about where we were going and made our first coach tour experience very easy to follow and enjoy. He became each country as we passed through it and told us all the history, geography and social information that was possible in the time and in a way that entertained and informed at the same time. The choices of hotels were wonderful and we had three two night stops to allow a better understanding and view of that city and a welcome chance to get some washing done. Victor even organised a commercial load for some passengers when in Rome - did someone mention Roman Baths? The pace and variety of the tour was well managed and we arrived back in London to weary weather but with joyous hearts. Thank you for making our holiday such a great experience as it was our first time in Europe but definitely not our last time, nor our last time with Trafalgar.

Best of Spain

The tour was good value for money, the tour director and the driver were both very professional and went out of their way to help. The tour director was as flexible as she could be given the tight schedule we had to keep to. The bus was very comfortable and having a toilet on board was an added bonus. The tour did not give me enough time to enjoy some read more of the places we visited at my own pace. In future I would look at not going on all the optional tours so I can concentrate on just relaxing every now and then. The restaurants the tour chose for us provided us with excellent service and food. Overall the accommodation was comfortable and clean, however, I would have preferred that the hotels were closer to the centres of the cities so I could do more exploring on foot. The accommodation on the last night in Madrid was appalling; it was disappointing to end the tour in such a dreadful place. All in all I highly recommend this tour to anyone who can keep up the pace.
Would I do a Trafalgar tour again - absolutely 2

East coast USA & Canada - Great trip. Travelling solo first time overseas and decided to do a tour as part of my holiday. Excellent vacation director - fun, informative, organised. Fellow travellers also fun, open and good to be with. Was able to spend time alone when I wanted and join with others for meals or walks etc. Paid the 'single supplement' read more which added to the cost but well worth it. Stop overs and accommodation were excellent throughout. Was a reasonably paced tour but very manageable. Overall, great fun. Would I do a Trafalgar tour again - absolutely. Booking (via the internet with Global Journeys) was effortless and easy. Consultant answered emails promptly and I was comfortable using this organisation.

Tour guide was excellent and a mine of information on the local history. We had plenty of time to explore all areas and her advice was invaluable. The tour group as a whole were fun and interesting and the extra tours, venues & meals were well chosen and good value. Overall an excellent experience for both of us.
Overall an excellent tour, well organised and balanced. Very informative, and for a relatively short tour, we were able to visit and experience many places without compromising personal time to explore, shop and enjoy the attractions.
We had a great time on our tour and loved all the places we were taken to. It was a whirlwind trip and we saw so much in a very short period of time (8 days). We know the trip was a taster to see the highlights and to make us want to see more. It worked! Our tour director Mike was excellent and his knowledge and language skills were second to none. read more The next time we would take a longer trip with at least 2 days in each main city. The group we went with were all marvellous and the different personalities and nationalities made for an excellent experience. Thank you for a wonderful trip.
Impressed that we booked into the 'Wonderful France' tour just days before departure as we were already in Paris and decided at the last minute that we wanted to do an escorted tour, it was seamless and all went well. We had a fabulous experience. Thank you!

This was the first guided tour we had ever been on. We usually just plan our own activities and go where we want to. From start to finish the tour was simply amazing. Everything was organised for us, and we got to see way more in one day than we could ever organise ourselves. We saw so much of England in 6 days it was amazing. We will definitely be read more travelling with Trafalgar again. The tour director and driver were amazing guys who made everything fun and educational. Hotels and food included was excellent and value for money was superb. Yvonne from Global Journeys organised our booking and provided assistance whenever we needed it. She also gave us helpful hints. Thank you for your excellent service and assistance, we will be booking with you again in the future.
Plenty of time at the sights to do own thing. The guide was very knowledgeable. Very mixed group of tourists but worked well.
I was very sceptical about booking through an online agency but was very pleasantly surprised by the prompt service and suggestions. My holiday was booked very quickly and without any problems and I was happy that I could take advantage of the special Trafalgar offer. I've sent the Global Journeys weblink to all my friends and family and have inspired read more them to take a similar trip. My Portugal tour with Trafalgar was incredible and being an avid traveller, it would be the best tour I have taken. The Tour Director obviously had a great of input in designing the trip, and his expertise, enthusiasm and knowledge of his country was very much appreciated and enjoyed. The hotels were superior and the included food was excellent. The optionals were great and I thought the whole tour package was excellent value for money.
I had a wonderful time and I couldn't praise enough the whole experience. Georgie from Global Journeys was extremely helpful, courteous and very efficient with her help to me with my all my queries and needs. The whole procedure for read more me, a total novice at the computer and booking things on-line was so simple thanks to you. The tour itself was amazing. The tour guide, Steen Harris was both professional to his toes, but with a very warm wit and amazingly good knowledge of his surroundings. It was a pleasure to hear his recounting the information regarding the places we visited, as well as his very up to date knowledge of all that's happening in the UK, unlike a previous tour taken many years ago, when the guides voice was a drivelling self indulgent monotone. The hotels that we stayed at were of an excellent quality and very good food was offered at each meal. The coach was comfortable and kept spotless by the extremely good driver, Shane. So all told, a pure joy to experience and highly recommended to anyone wishing to do this or a similar tour with Trafalgar. It offers value for money and extremely good service throughout.

Great organisation by agent Georgie Walpole, extremely efficient and hassle free. Tour of Scotland was very enjoyable, tour leader Tom was knowledgeable and organised and a pleasant guy. Bus new and comfortable and driver also exemplary. The guide at Edinburgh Castle was loud and self important and treated us like children. There is no doubt he is very read more knowledgeable but I think you could do better here. The whiskey distillery was not functioning when we visited and the guide was bored and boring. This was a big waste of time and every one who went agreed it was hopeless. Apart from these two minor problems the trip was all I hoped for. It gave me a glimpse of Scotland and I will return there for a longer holiday in future. The Highlands and Loch Lomond cruise were in my opinion the best part but of course that is just personal preference.

Highlights of France and Barcelona

We undertook two tours, the second of which was a Trafalgar tour of France and Spain, which was excellent, and with just 29 on board it was much easy to move around and to get to know people. The pace was slightly more relaxed than on our Globus UK tour. The Tour Guide, Martine Carr was extremely pleasant, competent, and had all the info at her fingertips. read more The driver also was very competent and managed to negotiate some very tight spots indeed. A couple of times he was caught out by his GPS on roads he was unfamiliar with, but it caused no real dramas. The Trafalgar tour coach was better than the Globus coaches as far as comfort was concerned. All accommodation was top notch, and the included meals were also excellent. Given that it was France and the 'Home of quality Wines' we were most disappointed with the poor wines we were served with our included meals though. The 'Be My Guest' dinner was truly excellent, but the optional Flaminco Dancing after the Farewell dinner in Barcellona was quite uninspiring. All the places we visited were fantastic and well worth seeing - particularly Paris, Monte Carlo, St Paul, & Montserrat Monastery amonst many others. There were a few very long days of travelling where some good tourist spots - even Wineries could have been included to break up the long hours sitting in the coach. The truck stops we used instead on the Freeways were very ordinary. The first long haul was from Bourges to a truck stop near Vichy, the second was from there to Lyon, the third was from Lyon to Chateauuneuf du Pape north of Avignon, the fourth was from Avignon to Nice, and the largest and most uninteresting haul was from Cannes to Barcelona with some very ordinary truckstops along the way. The long distances had to be done, but some enjoyable scenic/tourist breaks would have helped. Perhaps an extra day and stop overnight near Marseille could be considered to break up this last haul, or alternatively have a different tour that finishes at Nice or Marseille and their airports. Overall these minor negatives were outweighed by the fantastic places we visited and saw, and the expert commentary. The detailed tour information, patient guidance and help from Yvonne Brooks from Global Journeys was fantastic, and she made our first time overseas trip a hassle-free experience. I would strongly recommend this tours to anyone who wants to see a lot of France in a short time, who wants value for money, and is prepared to be 'busy'. (GJ: Review split over two tours taken.)

Grand European

Brian and I have waited more than 20 years to do our first big European trip together, so we wanted it to be perfect and hassle free...it was! Our tour was brilliantly organised by Yvonne Brooks. At first we were a bit concerned using email and internet , but Yvonne was always in contact and quick to respond and alleviate any concerns. Our whole tour read more went off without a hitch! The tour leader, Howard Hazecamp was excellent and informative. He was very well organised, and even the riots in Rome and a pheasant hitting our bus, did not spoil our trip. Everything went off without a hitch , which we put down to the organisation and attention to detail displayed from the moment we decided to travel! The tour itself was fantastic, we had a great group of people on our tour which made it so much fun. The hotels were excellent and the places we saw and the experiences were unforgettable. We loved The Mt Pilatus Excursion, The Seine and Rhine River Cruises, The Gondolas in Venice - where we were serenaded, Pompeii, Positano, Assisi, Florence, Rome and of course Paris. The city by night tour was spectacular, finishing with the sparkling Eiffel Tower which Howard, took us to as a grand finale. We were so impressed with Howard who always took the time to ensure that every person on the tour was satisfied, all questions were answered and each person felt comfortable. We have shared so many photos and stories with friends and family. One of the highlights was at the end of our tour when flying home we wanted to have a 2 night stopover to break up the trip. Yvonne suggested and organised lovely little details such as a car to pick us up from Hong Kong Airport to take us to the Harbour Grand Hotel, (where we felt like celebrities) . We felt so pampered and spoilt that we arrived home in Australia relaxed and not overly jet lagged. Even when Qantas grounded the Fleet , we emailed Yvonne who sent a prompt reply and some suggestions as to what to do. (The flights resumed the next day and we were not affected thankfully!) We hear so many horror stories about people's trips overseas and I have to say our was not one of them. We loved every minute of it. Everything went seamlessly and we would put that down to the professionalism and organisation of every person we dealt with from the moment we decided to book our holiday . Thank you to Global Journeys and Trafalgar, we will have so many memories to treasure and share and we will certainly be recommending your companies to colleagues, family and friends!
