(B) Stay: Hilton Garden Inn City Center, Clayton

Today's first stop is in the runaway wedding capital, Gretna Green, where eloping couples would exchange their vows over the Marriage Anvil. Returning to England, we Connect With Locals, joining Christine for lunch at a Be My Guest experience on her family's farm. See beautiful Lake District landscapes and skirt the romantic shores of Lake Windermere, the largest lake in England, arriving in edgy Liverpool of 'Fab Four' fame, for an evening at leisure. 8 Day Amazing Britain 1 , NSW, Australia, Aug 2022
I booked a Trafalgar tour through Global Journeys and will certainly look to travel with them again, hopefully in the not too distant future. I hadn't done a tour on my own and must say I was a little anxious, but had absolutely nothing to worry about. The whole group ended up being like extended family, looking out for one another and we had a lot read more of laughs and fun during the tour. Some of us are keeping in touch now that we've all gone home. Accommodation was great and it was nice to be able to put your bag outside your door in the morning by the allocated time and not have to worry about it again until it arrived to your room at your next destination. Our tour director even threw in a couple of extra small stops along the way and his knowledge of the places we visited surpassed expectations. A great experience!
A most enjoyable trip 4 , VIC, Australia, Jul 2017
We had a very interesting trip with pleasant companions, a delightful, diligent guide and a careful bus driver. We enjoyed the tour through England and Scotland with comfortable accommodation and luxurious breakfasts. The stops at historical or picturesque sites were well chosen and we appreciated the information about them from the guide, the relevant read more 'funnies' and tastings (shortbread, fudge, whisky/ local soft drink) passed around and music related to the area.
Holiday made easy 3 , New Zealand, Sep 2016
We toured Britain for 7 days and straight onto a 6 day European highlights tour thereafter, both with Trafalgar. I would highly recommend travelling with Trafalgar as everything was organised with regular stops along the way, photo opportunities and the tour directors have huge historical knowledge to impart. The accommodation was excellent and locations read more good and breakfasts to suit every taste, even gluten free! Global Journey's organised all the bookings, transfers and gratuities online and communicated well and everything ran like clockwork. Both trips were hugely enjoyable and we met some amazing people and had fun times.
Highly recommend :) 2 , NSW, Australia, Aug 2015
We had a great time, saw some amazing sights & met some wonderful people. The city & the countryside were equally awe inspiring. While we saw a great many things in a small space of time we still managed to have some down time too. Highly recommend :)
Would not hesitate to go on another tour 2 , Australia, Sep 2014
The tour was really enjoyable. The Tour guide (James Payne) and the coach driver (Paul) were great. James went out of his way to make sure that we experienced everything about each stop on the way, and things were very well organized. He was very passionate about his county and made things interesting and at the same time fun. We would not hesitate read more to go on another tour in the future.
Tour was exactly what we expected 3 , Australia, Jul 2013
The tour was exactly what we expected, the driver and tour guide were very efficient and helpful. The only complaint some of the hotels were not equipped for the heat we encountered particularly in Scotland also many of the hotels Wi-Fi was an extra charge in this day and age this should be standard. We would certainly consider using Global Journeys read more as we found them very reliable and would recommend them to any travellers.
We really enjoyed our first coach tour 1 , Australia, Jun 2013
We really enjoyed our first coach tour. The itinerary was great and, our tour director Michael Cronin could not have done anything more to make our trip more successful. The coach driver Richard was also fantastic and hellpful and a very careful driver. I realize this was a short tour but next rime I would like to have a couple of two night stays during the tour.
So pleased we went on this tour 1 , Australia, Apr 2013
So pleased we went on this tour. The itinerary was perfect for us. Our guide Eddie was a wonderful host - very knowledgeable & entertaining. The accommodation was comfortable, clean & well-presented. Breakfasts were amazing and included meals very good. Coach comfortable with frequent enough stops for comfort. Most of the tourers were mature travellers read more with a few younger people - all were pleasant company. Would not hesitate to recommend both Global Journeys (thanks Hannah) and Trafalgar tours.
