I booked this trip last year with the hope of seeing the Northern Lights, and it turned out to be an amazing adventure! One thing I think people should understand before booking is that while you can see the Northern Lights with the naked eye, they are not always visible or as vibrant as the photos you see online. We were fortunate enough to see faint read more green colors, and our smartphones captured much more than our eyes could see. Even without a spectacular display, experiencing the Northern Lights was still special.
There were plenty of optional excursions, and we chose to do all of them. They were 100% worth it! The reindeer farm was a great experience, and the husky sledding adventure was so much fun, even though there was no snow. We also visited the Icehotel, and what an amazing and fun experience that was! Seeing the incredible ice sculptures and the creativity that goes into creating the hotel was fascinating. We learned that the outdoor ice hotel is being built later and later in the year. I can only wonder if climate change and warming temperatures are contributing to that. The permanent Icehotel was awesome and well worth seeing!
We also toured the Vasa Museum and the Nobel Prize Museum in Stockholm. The Vasa Museum literally took my breath away! Seeing the Vasa ship in person was incredible and definitely a highlight of the trip. I highly recommend allowing extra time in Stockholm to explore these attractions and enjoy the city.
A little advice for future travelers: Consider arriving a day or two early to adjust to the time difference. The 10-hour time change (from California) was much harder to adjust to than I expected! I would also recommend staying an extra day or two after the tour to give yourself enough time to truly explore Stockholm.
Another important tip: Pack for the Arctic weather! We traveled in October, and it was COLD. If you're traveling to Finnish and Swedish Lapland, make sure you bring proper cold-weather clothing, including a warm winter jacket, insulated pants, gloves, a hat, and appropriate footwear. Some people in our group had to purchase additional clothing because they weren't adequately prepared. You don't want to spend your time being cold when you should be enjoying the experience!
Our tour guide, Mike, was awesome! He was personable, funny, knowledgeable, and made everyone feel comfortable throughout the trip. He also did a great job managing a group of 27 people, which is no easy task. Our driver, Kristoff, got us everywhere safely, and our two local experts, Lucas (Northern lights hunting) and Adi Nobel and Vasa Museum** (I hope I spelled their names correctly!), were great as well. I really enjoyed Adi's tours he was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. You could just tell how passionate he was.
Our group of 27 people was the perfect size. Everyone got along really well and, best of all, everyone was ready on time, which helped keep everything running smoothly. The first couple of days involve quite a bit of travel, but once you settle into the pace, the trip is fantastic.
If you're looking for an unforgettable adventure with great guides, beautiful scenery, fun excursions, and a wonderful group experience, I highly recommend this trip! The Northern Lights are a bonus, but there is so much more to see and experience along the way. I would absolutely consider traveling with Trafalgar again!

We had a fabulous trip, very well organised, participating in all options easy to do, tour director and bus driver very experienced and knowledgeable. Our travel consultant Grace has been excellent organising and answering our queries in a very timely manner we have many more trips on the go!

Excellent time to travel for changing leaf colours- beautiful kaleidoscope everywhere. Insight coaches very comfortable & spacious, but seat rotation somewhat inconsistent!! Accommodation hotels very comfortable with large rooms though Digby Pines Resort had smaller rooms & needs upgrading. Itinerary good & local guides very knowledgeable & entertaining read more even in very adverse weather conditions at times. Found some “lessons” on local products too detailed. Included meals good.
Everything about our trip went very smoothly. The pick up from the airport was on time and our tour director, Lydia, was considerate, helpful and very knowledgeable. The hotels were mainly well situated and comfortable. Morning breakfasts were as expected, with only 1 hotel having no hot food at the buffet available for almost 45 minutes. All guided read more tours were well planned with excellent guides who were very pleasant. There was a good balance of tours and free times. We were unable to tour the Sagrada Familia but Trafalgar replaced with another interesting tour.

For us, we were expecting a bit more, especially in locations which we considered significant. This is typical of most tours in this category where sometimes too much time is spent around some attractions and not enough on others. Having said that, to have everything planned out by someone with little effort on our part is great. Combine that with a good tour director, driver and fellow travellers, that is still a good vacation. Whichever way you travel, Ireland and Scotland are definitely worth visiting.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience with Hannah when booking our “Best of Spain and Portugal” tour with Insight. From the very beginning, Hannah was friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful. She made the whole process easy and stress free. The Insight tour itself was fantastic, with beautiful destinations, wonderful experiences, and excellent read more organisation throughout. Whilst the trip had early starts and heat in Venice and Rome it was fantastic to see so many bucket list things and the Trafalgar people were so good. Recommend this trip. Thank you to Kayla for handing the booking. Every thing went smoothly.
Overall sights of tour were great as was our tour guide Aileen, who was also very good. Only issue we had some accommodation which was older and pretty tired - needs to be looked at. Thanks.
The speedy ‘Grand Prix’ tour of the UK was a great experience that touches all the must-see places. The Tour Director and coach captain both did an excellent job to fill each day with wonderful unforgettable memories.

All the sights, hotels, breakfasts, tour guide, bus driver were fantastic. Recommend this tour 100%. Very hot in August in Split and Dubrovnik.
Great Coach tour with Insight Vacations - very nice coach, great Tour Director. We never imagined we would see so much history and real life in other countries. Tour was very well organized and the private boat trips and private water taxis in Venice were a real bonus. Met 27 other travelers and a great mix. All got on very well. Shared the days and read more the experiences together. Overall, a 10/10 from us.

I had a wonderful 20-day Nordic Adventure travelling through Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway gave me a wonderful glimpse into countries and cultures that felt so different from home. The highlights for me were experiencing the wilds of Lapland and the spectacular scenery of Norway. Geirangerfjord and the surrounding mountains were simply breathtaking, read more and there were so many moments along the way when I found myself appreciating just how beautiful Scandinavia is. But the biggest highlights for me was the Lofoten Islands. The dramatic mountains, waterways and beautiful coastal scenery were absolutely spectacular.
I particularly loved that this itinerary includes Lofoten, as many other Nordic tours don’t which gave us the opportunity to experience a part of Norway that I may otherwise never have visited. I also really enjoyed sharing the journey with such a great group of fellow travellers. Our Tour Director, Joel, and coach drivers helped make the trip even more enjoyable with their knowledge, organisation and care throughout the journey. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to experience the beauty and diversity of Scandinavia — and especially the incredible Lofoten Islands.

Our trip was wonderful, especially the last leg driving south through Norway. Scenery/mountains were fantastic. Above all our tour director was magnificent. Given the above driving the highways through Sweden and Finland was great but on many occasions highways had trees lining them for kilometres and kilometres. Still it was chance to shut ones eyes read more and nod off for a while. Special thanks to Georgie. Absolutely supportive and helpful as usual.
I had a great trip, the hotels were all great but one. They seemed to be a 4 star . The food and choice of entertainment was amazing. Also the choice of towns was great. We covered a lot of France and points of interest in history. Our guide was the best I have had ever.

This was our 4th tour booked through Global Journeys, our second with Insight Vacations. The trip was fantastic, giving us a good sample of what Ireland and Scotland have to offer. Had a fabulous time with Trafalgar Tours on their Great European 27 days. Most hotels were of a high standard not far from centre of city's. A couple of hotels were disappointing, but over all pretty good . All hotels did have air-conditioning which was important to us . We added nearly all optional tours, as these were some of the best highlights read more of our tour. Our tour director Stacey was just amazing 👏 . She made the tour easy with everything all organised for us . Highlights were the Colosseum in Rome & Italy was amazing, Switzerland, but too many others to mention. We think that some of the local specialist walking tours should already be included in the tour price . We would definitely do a Trafalgar tour again, as we made life long friends & had such a good time with our Tour Director. Hannah from Global Journeys was wonderful at organising the tour for us . Will be using Global journeys again for our hoildays. Thanks so much Hannah.

Best of South Africa with Victoria Falls

An excellent tour if you want to see more than just the wonderful National parks and safaris. We were very lucky and saw the BIG SIX and more on our Kruger safari, with St Lucia and CHOBE adding more to our list of wildlife sightings.
The cultural dinners and shows were entertaining and city and beach visits were relaxing and informative. There read more were some long driving days but we covered a lot of SA. Hotels were all top quality and TD Craig insured we were in our rooms with bags within 15 min of arrival.
Our group was small, only 11 travellers from US, UK, NZ and AU. We all became great friends and thoroughly enjoyed our travels. A big thank you to Hannah from GJ, for all her assistance with booking and follow up.
Tips…. Do the Victoria Falls extension, well worth the extra days. If you do book extra nights pre tour via Trafalgar, check directly with the hotel that they have received the booking. All the optionals were excellent. Cape Town optional - do the Peninsula trip, penguins were awesome. Not enough time in Cape Town would be great if Trafalgar added one more independent day there to the tour.

It was my first ever coach trip and I didn’t really know what to expect so I was open minded about it. I wasn’t disappointed, everything was very well organised. Hotels were good, chosen experiences were good value. Perhaps a little bit more could be included in the price though, I felt that optional ones heavily outweighed inclusions. Something to read more be mindful of when budgeting for the trip. One thing that left me puzzled though was constant badgering about tipping tour director and the driver. Surely Trafalgar is paying adequate salaries to their staff?
The Costsaver tour was well priced and led by a humourous local Tour Guide who was full of knowledge. The coach was safely and expertly driven. Satisfactory hotel accommodation and food with well chosen cities and sights. No sales pressure to do the optional excursions which left plenty of free time to do your own thing. The whole tour was well organised. read more We would definitely use Global Journeys again as everything was handled with ease and payment timelines easy to meet.
