The best organised tour that we have done 1 Wonders of Turkey (Small Group) , Australia, Aug 2011
We were very happy with our tour of Turkey. It was the best organised tour that we have done. The hotels were excellent except the Dederman in Cappadocia. Rashid our tour guide was the best with his extensive knowledge and sense of humour, he got us to the sights, museums etc. at the right times so we didn't have to cue. It was the first tour that I read more have done where the tour guide has given his phone no and room no to us. We were very happy with Yvonne's help in booking this tour for us. Thank you all very much. (Ed: Review based on slightly different itinerary. Trip name and itinerary updated this season)
The scenery was just spectacular 2 Iconic Rockies and Western Canada , Australia, Aug 2011
We were very happy with the service provided by Georgie of Global Journeys. The Trafalgar Tour of the Rockies in Canada was really great, both the Tour Director and the Bus Driver were very good. The scenery was just spectacular and the Hotel accommodation was very comfortable. The extra tour options were good and provided some great experiences. We had a wonderful holiday.
Faultless tour 1 Spectacular Canadian Rockies with Alaska Cruise , Australia, Aug 2011
Initially we had a problem with getting our itinerary before the start of the tour. We received it 1 week prior to us leaving. It did take a few phone calls on our part to Yvonne (our tour consultant). Yvonne sorted it out with Trafalgar. Yvonne did finally receive the tour documents along with a letter of apology from Trafalgar Tours for the mix up. read more The tour itself was faultless. Everything ran very smoothly. Attractions and the tour director, Anne were great. Accommodation and our bus driver were terrific. I cannot speak highly enough of our bus driver, Virginia. She too was very knowledgeable and so friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend Trafalgar Tours and their staff. From rested & relaxed travellers.
A very special tour that well exceeded our expectations 2 Spanish Wonder , Australia, Aug 2011
We are seasoned travellers who have always organised our travels based on good research where the car has been our main mode of travel. So we approached the Spanish Wonder Tour with a mixture of both apprehension and curiosity. It wasn't long, though, before we became aware of how memorable and special - and all for the right reasons - that this tour read more was going to be. Our well-informed, very personable, humorous and extremely helpful and professional guide was enough to ensure a very enjoyable and worthwhile tour. The added bonus, however, of quality local guides and a very pleasant and safe coach driver who provided such a comfortable drive made this a very special tour that certainly well exceeded our expectations. Everything about the tour from the accommodation and group dinners to the scheduled time in the centres visited was carefully organised to guarantee a successful tour for all involved. Well done, Trafalgar.
Well-paced and balanced 3 East Coast USA and Canada , Australia, Aug 2011
We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. It was well-paced and balanced; the range of places and both the inclusions and additional activities were excellent. It was good to have options for the additional activities, we took most but chose to skip a couple and enjoyed doing something else instead. With any tour there is always the sense that you would like read more to have more time, or more free time, in some places, and that there was always so much more you could do or see, but within the constraints of a group tour with a tight schedule to keep, it was very comprehensive. The group leader and driver were both highly professional, totally reliable, informative and good people to travel with, keeping us fully informed and handling any issues easily in a friendly manner. The accommodation a very high standard and the included meals were very good. We were fortunate to travel with a very pleasant group of people - the group size, at 52, was large, but people (almost all Australian) got on well and without hassles. Obviously this is not always the case. Overall, a very professional, enlightening and comprehensive tour and good value. It might be important to emphasise more in the promotion of this tour that it does NOT include an extensive coverage of New York - a few people expressed disappointment about this and had not taken the advice to book in a few extra days there.
Would go again and recommend it to friends! 2 Italian Elegance , Australia, Aug 2011
Thoroughly enjoyed the trip despite 45 degree heat on some days. Tour leader was excellent, informative and very well organised. Met some fabulous people and saw a great deal of Italy. My only constructive comments would be perhaps to be careful that at breakfasts and some dinners that are arranged that the members of the tour aren't made to feel like read more second class citizens by putting them at back tables (this happened quite a lot to us). Felt like feeding time at the zoo on some occasions. Secondly we stayed at one hotel in Bolzano (Aldi) which was really sub- standard with a dinner that could be barely eaten. Other than that brilliant! Would go again and recommend it to friends!
Very impressed with my first coach tour 2 Britain and Ireland Explorer , Australia, Aug 2011
This was my first coach tour and I was very impressed. I had heard good reports about Trafalgar Tours and all my expectations were met. Both the tour guide and the driver were extremely competent and took care of us really well. I enjoyed getting to know the other people on the tour and we had good fun together. I would highly recommend the Britain read more & Ireland Explorer as providing an excellent overview of these areas. Obviously in this timeframe there can be few in-depth experiences, but I feel my general education has been broadened, and my understanding of some of the issues facing the people of Britain and Ireland has increased significantly. Georgie at Global Journeys made the process of booking and preparing to go on the tour straightforward and pleasurable. I was a little anxious and sent several emails of enquiry, all of which were responded to very promptly with the information I had requested. I would strongly recommend Global Journeys (and Georgie) to other travellers.
Very impressed with Insight 1 Country Roads of Bavaria, Switzerland & Austria , Australia, Aug 2011
We had a wonderful trip. Thanks Yvonne at Global Journeys for making the booking and payment process painless and easy to understand. And for your patience and understanding when we rang you to clarify some aspects of the tour as this was our first overseas trip. Happy to recommend Global Journeys to others and will contact you again for our next trip. read more The trip itself was fantastic. We were very impressed with Insight Vacations. Sue, our Tour Director was a wealth of knowledge and has a true passion for Europe and travel. Everything happened with a minimum of fuss. The places we visited were wonderful and the hotels we stayed in were also very good. Would definitely travel with Insight again.
Tour itself was perfect 3 Britain and Ireland Grandeur , Australia, Jul 2011
I just wanted to drop you a quick note and thank you for your brilliant service you provided for my most recent tour of the UK and Ireland with Trafalgar! I had an amazing time, the tour itself was perfect and I was extremely pleased with the Tour Director, Peter Lewis. He was a wonderful gentleman, who made the tour so much more satisfying. He had read more very detailed knowledge about the history of the United Kingdom and was constantly ensuring all his clients were comfortable and he went well beyond his normal duties as a Tour Director. Paul, our bus driver was also fantastic, he had a brilliant sense of humour and was always more than happy to help and offer advice. He was also a wonderful driver and we all felt very safe and secure with Paul behind the wheel. This is the first time I have travelled with Trafalgar and I now plan to make this the only traveling company for future holidays. In fact, I have already been to your website planning my next holiday in a few months. Words cannot describe how happy I am with Trafalgar, from the staff, to the selection of the hotel and the meals, to the itinerary which was perfectly researched and executed. Along with the 'hidden treasures' and the simple ease of traveling, I could not have asked for a better holiday, they were simply impeccable. Thank you so much Georgie for answering all of my questions so quickly and helping me plan this wonderful trip. I look forward to booking my next holiday very soon with Global Journeys.
A very worthwhile experience and something we will do again 1 Best of Italy , Australia, Jul 2011
Really enjoyed and this was our first experience of touring in a large group by coach. This tour was all go and whist some accommodation locations did not lend themselves to a little more free time, most did. A little more free time might be useful but downside is optional tours cant be missed!! A very interesting cross section of people and ages. Giuseppi read more our tour leader was excellent. If only we could have retained all of his commentary? All in all a very worthwhile experience and something we will do again.
We have lots of photos and many happy memories 1 Britain and Ireland Highlights , Australia, Jul 2011
Our first tour experience! The tour through Britain and Ireland was at a fast pace - we covered 2300kms by coach in 8 days but ideal for our interest. The guide and driver were very professional and ensured that everything ran smoothly. We have lots of photos and many happy memories.
A fabulous holiday 2 European Whirl , Australia, Jun 2011
I have been wanting to tour around Europe for as long as I can remember but at first wasn't too sure about going on my own. It was the biggest holiday I have had but the easiest and totally stress free, even on my own. Thank you to Global Journeys and Georgie for your assistance as it was all very easy to book online and any questions I had were quickly read more answered through email. I thought Trafalgar were outstanding - our Tour Director, Bernie, was fantastic. His historical knowledge and general information (very useful) was incredible ... even though I may have fallen asleep half way through, too relaxed! It was so well organised that you didn't have to think of a thing, even down to a 'pee pee' stop! We had a diverse group on the tour from families, single people and older couples but we all blended and it added to the experience. Transfers from and to the airport were great and having a Trafalgar rep at the hotel in London was a real bonus as spoke to him about what I would do in London for a couple of days and it was so very easy to get around with his help. Would totally recommend all the above. I only hope I have the opportunity to do another tour sometime in the future. (Ed: Review based on slightly different itinerary. First tour I have taken solo, and I am already planning my next 3 Treasures of Morocco , Australia, Jun 2011
Had a great time. Our tour director went that extra mile to please us all. Each destination was just fabulous. Accommodation was first class. This was the first tour I have taken solo, and I am already planning my trip for 2012. Well done! Forgot to mention our excellent coach driver!
Tour certainly fulfills expectation 3 European Grandeur , Australia, Jun 2011
As an introduction to Europe, the tour certainly fulfills expectation. There are a couple of items where I think improvement could be made. Weather forecasts on the board to ensure appropriate apparel/sunscreen etc. Better explanation of how the optionals work and how little free time there is if you take them up. The ability to sign up for extras the read more day before as you do not know what the city/place you are visiting is like. The quality of the food on the included dinners. A 'tell everyone a bit about yourself' opportunity to help get to know everyone. An indication of the time on the road each day. Things I think were excellent were, the room on the coach, most of the road stops, the tour guide's knowledge, how much we actually saw and did & the price of the extras. Overall, our experience was very good and we now have the knowledge and skill to return to Europe, back to the places we liked and to others we did not even see. Thanks for showing us what we can do! Thank you for a trouble free tour 2 European Experience , Australia, Jun 2011
I would like to thank you for inviting me to voice my view on the 'European Experience' tour and thank you for your part in making the tour and the information you provided as trouble free as possible. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the tour director IJ for his outstanding performance and his knowledge in relation to the countries read more we visited and his overall repo with all ages in the tour group. IJ's amazing linguistic skills in the countries we visited and the overall expertise in matters of history and geography made us feel that it was all well worth the cost. He and the driver together was a good and pleasant combination throughout the trip and we were well pleased. He had the same enthusiasm at the start of the journey as he did at the end of the journey which was remarkable. Once again thanks for the whole experience and please pass mine and my families gratitude to all concerned including yourself.
Thank you for a wonderful tour 2 European Whirl , Australia, Jun 2011
My touring experience with Trafalgar was unbelievable for one main reason - our Tour Director Brendon Bush - his talk to us at the beginning of the tour of his expectations of the group so that we could get the best out of the tour proved to be the best advice we could receive. By cooperating with the main one (never being late) it made for the perfect read more tour as no one was ever kept waiting for inconsiderate passengers. Introducing the concept of our bus being the 'love bus' was a positive outcome for all. By playing the song 'Love is in the Air' as the bus left each morning put us all immediately in a happy mood for the day. If there was any issue with a passenger, he discreetly dealt privately with it and attempted to rectify it as efficiently as possible. Brendon's knowledge of European history and his familiarity with all the places we visited was so impressive and wonderful to share with him. Many on our bus went on to more tours but I heard from 7 fellow passengers that although the next tour was very enjoyable, it wasn't the same without Brendon. My suggestion is that Brendon should be teaching other tour leaders his methods - he certainly has got it perfect after his many years working with bus tours. Our bus driver Marco was a very pleasant and courteous man and excellent driver. It was so good to be in a bus which was so beautifully presented and maintained, although the job was made easier for him as one of the rules was that we never brought hot food on board. Thankyou for a wonderful tour - my first visit to UK and Europe. (Ed: Review based on slightly different itinerary. Trip name and itinerary updated this season)
We made many friends 1 Country Roads of Italy , Australia, Jun 2011
Yvonne looked after our tour and air travel bookings. She was extremely helpful, professional and timely with her responses. She certainly assisted in making the planning of our trip easy. A big thank you. The Italy tour overall was just fantastic. Specific problems in regards to hotels were limited to Florence - we stayed at the LLadro. Rooms were read more small with limited non smoking options. The smell of smoke in our room was overpowering. We were moved for the second night but to a very small room. The dinner at this hotel was also sub standard. The tour guide and driver were great and we made many friends. Would recommend it.
Wow! Wow! Wow! 5 European Cavalcade , Australia, Jun 2011
My husband and I have just come back from a 17 day Trafalgar tour around Europe. We have had such a fantastic time. So many highlights. Cruising down the Rhine in Germany seeing so many beautiful castles, hundreds of years old, going up the cog train to Mt Pilatus in Switzerland, having an incredible lunch at Burano on the islands outside Venice, seeing read more the amazing paintings done by Michelangelo in the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican City and not forgetting visiting the grand Colosseum in Rome, staying at a beautiful hotel at Sorrento with balcony views overlooking the Mediterranean, being taken by minibuses to the wonderful little town of Positano, who could forget the wonderful statue of David in Florence, going on a carousel at beautiful Nice and then finally Paris, visiting the Mona Lisa at the Louvre, cruising down the river Seine at night, going to the top of the Eiffel Tower and not forgetting the Can-Can girls at the Nouvelle Eve Cabaret. All in all we could have not picked a better tour to see the best of Europe in such a short span of time. We found all the hotels and meals we had very good and the bus we travelled in very comfortable. We were lucky to get a fantastic Italian driver called Francesco who really took care of his bus and was a terrific driver. Now we get to our incredible tour guide Steve Pearce. My husband and I cannot say enough about Stephen. Stephen is why our tour was so fabulous. If it wasn't for his professionalism, dedication, friendliness and hard work that he gave us for the whole 17 days plus just his easy going personality our tour wouldn't have been as wonderful. We thoroughly recommend him to anybody who is wanting to go on a Trafalgar tour. Of course none of this would have been possible if it wasn't for your tour consultant, Yvonne Brooks. I have never booked a holiday over the internet before and straight away through her professionalism, knowledge and friendliness I was put at ease. Over the last 6 months Yvonne has always answered my questions, always got back to me straight away either by phone or email and kept me advised of any changes or updates we needed to know. I have no hesitation in recommending Yvonne or Global Journeys to anybody who is wanting to travel to Europe on a coach tour.
Nothing was ever a problem 1 Wonders of Turkey (Small Group) , Australia, May 2011
The tour was great. Well organised and well run, nothing was ever a problem. Both tour guide and driver were great. The only negative was the 'Turkish version' of history that was presented about the ancient sites visited, which was challenged by a number of travellers who knew their history. eg. presented as Roman ruins rather than Hellenistic, etc. read more It made it interesting and amusing :)
Very professional in their approach 2 European Cavalcade , Australia, May 2011
We had the most fantastic time touring UK with Cosmos on the 'British Panorama'. We drove though the very lovely green British country-side & visited many cathedrals, quaint little pubs, towns & historical places. It was a great experience. The Cosmos driver & the tour director were so friendly yet very professional in their approach. The second tour read more which was of the continent, 'European Cavalcade', a 17 day jam packed tour of 10 countries was also great. We saw & experienced so much in 17 days. We were able to beat the crowds in the mornings due to early starts hence first ones to get to many places & sites without having to stand in along queues. ie the Eifel Tower etc. Met some lovely people from all over the world. I would book my tours with you folks, Global Journeys, anytime, you are very professional & yet relaxed.
