Too many hours travelling in the coach some days 2

We had a great time, but some hotels and meals were not the best. Beds very hard and rooms tired. This varied as there were also some nice hotels. Too many hours traveling in the coach on some days. Most of the better tours were extras, therefore added an extra $650.00 plus per person, then on top of that there were the tips that were expected by tour read more guides. We had an excellent bus driver. Where I have marked average I would have preferred to be able to mark good.
Visits to Castles and Cathedrals almost daily was a bit much 1

The planned journey was very good having visited England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland in 16 days. However, visits to Castles and Cathedrals almost daily was a bit too much. Maybe more visits to Roman ruins or archaeology sites would be more interesting. The Coach driver was excellent and the Tour Guide was very good. I thought that having to purchase read more the 'optional tours' for the whole tour on the first day was not appropriate though. Passengers should be given the choice of these optional tours the day before the actual option date.

Would recommend this tour, although you need to take the optional tours in the cities to get the most out of it. Venice was a prime example. The included tour was a visit to a glass factory and then we were taken to St Marks Square where we were left to our own devices. Not even a cruise down the grand canal unless you took an optional tour. We saw read more it by water bus. Hotels were good except for Venice which was poor. On the two occasions we were travelling at lunch time we managed to arrive at the peak period. It would have been easy to stop at another restaurant earlier and avoid the rush.

Italian Scene

I thoroughly enjoyed the Trafalgar Italian Scene tour. Our tour guide Antonino Cacace made it fun and interesting with his sense of humour and local knowledge. He memorized our names very quickly and made sure all the tour participants met and mixed together and enjoyed themselves.
Paul Fisher was our tour guide and was absolutely excellent. If I did another Insight tour I would definitely want him as the Tour Guide. The only negative part of tour was our stay at the Thistle Marble Arch. It was the most expensive hotel we stayed in during our nine week trip through Europe and probably the one we enjoyed the least. We moved up read more from the Lancaster Gate hotel to the Thistle on your recommendation and on hindsight we should have stayed at the Lancaster and caught a taxi up on the morning. You need to give serious thought to recommending the Thistle. I would be grateful if you could pass this on to Insight. (Ed. Best of Ireland & Scotland

Excellent service up front from Consultant Yvonne at Global Journeys. Tour was extremely well paced with ample time for us to do our own thing on several occasions. Modern coach with excellent driver (Jim) and Tour Director Cherryl was the best we have ever had, giving excellent overall commentary without getting bogged down in the detail. Two downsides read more were: Newtonmore in Scotland is not an ideal location for a two day stopover when there are more ideal stopovers close by. Unable to do the whisky tour as it was a Sunday and the sales office was the only partly open. Insight should make a refund to cover this oversight of their tour.
The Insight American Parks Trail was a wonderful experience. The Tour Guide and driver were a great team who cared for every need. Accommocation was excellent and the sights taken in gave a wonderful overview of the Parks. The whole experience, from booking with Frances to the end of the tour was handled with extreme professionalism and was quite painless for us.

American Parks Trail

The Insight American Parks Trail was one of the best tours we have experienced. At this time of year the weather was perfect and the scenery of the National and State Parks was superb. We were lucky enough to experience a surprise snowfall at the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone, which enhanced the amazing colours of the mountains. It was fascinating to read more see the rapid change from mountain to prairie, from wilderness to fertile valleys in the space of one day. We even had a lunch at a genuine diner where the owner shut down his business to accommodate the whole busload of diners. The pace of the tour was just right, plenty to see and do. Our tour director made the history of each area come alive and we were able to ask questions of our very competent driver who happened to be a Native American lady. A great experience.

So many places and sights that you would not think to go to yourself. Plus of course, all the iconic sights. Our Tour guide Marie was excellent. Very knowledgeable and interesting and very caring of passengers who had limited mobility. She went out of her way to show us hidden gems and extra things and surprises throughout the trip. The meals included read more wine and was very enjoyable. They took us out for a short tour of Paris on arrival and a welcome dinner near the Arch de Triumph as an extra treat that was not on the itinerary. What a great start. Accommodation was very good overall. Highly recommend this Best of France Tour above the more budget priced one. ( It is also worth paying extra for the excursions as they were really good.) We did all but one of them. We would definitely do another Trafalgar tour.
Fabulous trip, great value for money and everything worked like clockwork. Service from your firm was terrific, with all the information we needed provided in plenty of time. They always returned my calls within hours and sent me confirmation emails as well which gave a first time traveller like me confidence to travel. Will use your agency again, in read more fact we are ow planning Europe with Trafalgar for next May 2013!
Comfortable bus, good tour guide and, well planned tour. Accommodation was ok to very good- some of the hotels were clean and comfortable and others were very good. None of the hotels were terrible. Overall an excellent experience.
We found the tour chosen was exceptional. The Tour Director and Driver could not do enough to ensure that our tour was enjoyable. When anyone was ill, they both did more than the call of duty. The Coach was clean, passengers had ample leg space as this coach was a 40 seater allowing for more room. The coach was cleaned daily and the driver took a pride read more in his coach. The group was excellent. Would recommend this tour company to anyone anticipating this tour.
A great tour that we would recommend highly. The Tour Guide was superb and the accommodation first class. We saw a lot of Italy in the time frame which we would have struggled to see touring by ourselves.

My wife and I had a wonderful time on our honeymoon doing the 'Best Of Italy and Greece' tour. It was amazing. We saw the most incredible places and met some really fun people and our tour guide, Simona, was brilliant. The Best of Italy tour was fantastic. We really enjoyed every bit of it. The Tour Director, Tony, Australian born, fluent Italian speaking man, was the best you could get. His knowledge of the history & cultures of the different regions was amazing. We had 36 on the coach - not a full complement, but we thought it was great. People could spread out read more & everybody in our group was on time, so that made our guide & driver happy. The catering for our Gluten Free meals was wonderful - I have not eaten as much Gluten free pasta in 6 months as I did in 2 weeks in Italy. The hotels were great. Some not as luxurious as others but always central. The coach was very comfortable & the driver very skilled, coping with the mad traffic in Italy, especially in Roma! We felt good value for money and the optional excursions offered were very good. We did almost all of them. All in all a great time. I would recommend Trafalgar to anyone. Global Journeys was very good as well - did everything that they promised.
