Great trip-well curated 0 , SA, Australia, Aug 2025
We enjoyed our tour with 25 passengers only-so plenty of room to spread out when on the tour bus. Our travel companions were like minded and the group meshed well from the beginning. Our tour director was young and enthusiastic about her home country. Our driver was thorough and helpful. We did notice however - that the little extras we've enjoyed on read more previous tours have been cut back. Meaning fewer excursions were included-more are now paid options. Simple things like no water provided on tour and hotels have cut right back on their starter kits etc and offer nasty disposable cups to use. This all came as a bit of a surprise and def lowers the overall rating score for us.
Easy traveling through Western Canada 0 , QLD, Australia, May 2025
Our tour was very well organized. Our tour guide and bus driver were excellent. The group were very good which made for a great holiday. We enjoyed all the beautiful places we visited - a couple of long days on the coach that were expected but our guide broke them up with visits to small towns and comfort stops. All in all, a fabulous holiday.
Iconic Rockies and Western Canada 2 , ACT, Australia, Jun 2018
Amazing views, amazing time... made better by our tour director Robina and our bus driver Bill. All hotels were of high value. The weather ranged from snowing in summer to rain to sunshine .
Well planned and stressless holiday 5 , QLD, Australia, May 2017
Holland American Line's cruise to Alaska was outstanding. Glad we chose the on land excursions through them as it was hassle free and seamless. Trafalgar was well organised and the hotels outstanding in both location and comfort. The early morning starts were great as we often gained access to sites before the main tourist crowds came.

Only downside read more was we were not aware of the very large group size they Trafalgar run in USA and Canada. Did not expect a group of 52! This was a bit annoying. This did take some of the shine off the trip; it's a lot of people getting on and off the coach, sitting in Restaurants, trying to squeeze into viewing areas etc. Had not read that on the promotions ( which seems to base a lot of their spiel and information on its Europe tours- 40 to 45 people). Next time we'll look at the fine print a lot more and maybe not even travel with Trafalgar.
Celebration of the majesty of the Canadian Rockies 5 , NSW, Australia, May 2017
The itinerary and the enthusiasm, organisational manner and knowledge shown by our Trafalgar's Tour Director, Dan Wilson, were excellent. Many highlights: breakfast in the Butchart Gardens, Vancouver Island, and its early morning light in the glorious spring-time gardens; walking through the village of Whistler led by Wendel and a visit to the First read more Nations Cultural centre; driving along mountain roads confident in the care and skills of Trafalgar's driver, Bill; early morning gondola ride to the peak at Sulphur Mountain, Banff; travelling up to and onto the Athabasca glacier; experiencing the snow in Jasper and wild-life sightings.

The Gold-Leaf Rocky Mountaineer train journey from Jasper to Vancouver does not represent value for money. Having an aisle seat on the train was a significant disadvantage, and I have written to the Rocky Mountaineer company with my specific comments. There were 52 passengers on the coach, and I would have preferred a smaller group. We all seemed to get on well enough and I was very happy with my seating companion on the coach.
Spectacular Holiday 4 , SA, Australia, Aug 2016
The scenery on this tour was spectacular. The entire tour was perfect. Everyday just got better and better. Trees, rocks and water. Fantastic. Trafalgar's Travel Director( Ben) and driver (Dan) were brilliant. They went well beyond of what was expected. Ben Hutchinson's handling of the tour was outstanding. He was so passionate and he is a proud Canadian. read more He made our experiences so much better because of his desire to please. Thank You Ben. Global Journeys once again provided us with faultless handling of our booking. Thank you Michelle, loved it.
Tour Director and Driver were excellent and very experienced 3 , WA, Australia, Sep 2015
Tour Director and Driver were excellent and very experienced. They had a good knowledge of the area. The tour was well organised, and there were adequate comfort stops. There was a good range of optional extras, though we only chose to do two, which were both great. The included meals were all of a good standard.
A nice pace with plenty of free time 4 , NSW, Australia, Sep 2015
Wonderful tour with beautiful scenery. A nice pace with plenty of free time, very enjoyable. Tour guide had very interesting and knowledgeable information and guided us well with local restaurants and eateries. The optional excursions were very good, the young boys that ran the cruise to Maligne Lake were fantastic and very funny. Most hotels were very read more comfortable and clean and breakfast was always good.
Rocky Mountaineer one of the highlights for me 1 , Australia, May 2013
I had a really good experience considering this was the first time I have ever taken a group tour. The tour guide was very knowledgable and helpful at all times. The accommodation at the hotels were excellent and would have loved to stay a little longer at some of the overnight stops. I found it a little annoying having to pack and unpack for such read more short stays in the hotels. The day tour for Vancouver city I found was too short and missed out as we did not get to stop at a few interesting locations but just drove past. As for the Rocky Mountaineer experience it was one of the highlights for me and would do it all over again.
The scenery was just spectacular 2 , Australia, Aug 2011
We were very happy with the service provided by Georgie of Global Journeys. The Trafalgar Tour of the Rockies in Canada was really great, both the Tour Director and the Bus Driver were very good. The scenery was just spectacular and the Hotel accommodation was very comfortable. The extra tour options were good and provided some great experiences. We had a wonderful holiday.
