Staff went above and beyond what would be expected 3 Highlights of Spain and Portugal (Winter) , Australia, Oct 2012
This was my first tour, and I found the tour director to be extremely helpful. Definitely 'above and beyond' what would be expected. All our needs were catered for and the excursions and stop-offs were a great way to experience new countries. Probably the only negative would be that all the optional excursions were really great and spoken highly of read more by the tour director, so it would have been great if some were included in the tour and did not incur an extra cost.
Thank you for all your help Global Journeys! 1 Best of Italy , Australia, Oct 2012
Thank you for all your help organizing my trip to Italy. I had such a wonderful time - loved Rome and found Italy such a great place for a holiday. Everywhere was interesting and exciting. The tour was well organized and Maria was such a great Tour Director - so knowledgeable and experienced. She was a delight and such style! We had a great group of read more people on the bus - Australians, Malaysians, Canadians and Americans. The local guides were excellent - very pleasant and so knowledgeable and passionate about their areas of expertise. I would certainly recommend this tour to other people. Thank you again.
I like that we stayed 5 nights in the same hotel 1 Northern Italian Lakes & Countryside , Australia, Oct 2012
I enjoyed the Milan and Italian Treasures Tour. There were only 17 of us travelling on the tour because end of season I think. The weather was still warm. We saw lots of lovely places. The restaurants that Trafalgar took us to in Italy served wonderful food. I like that we stayed 5 nights in the same hotel. Would recommend this tour.
Well organised tour. 3 Best of Devon and Cornwall , Australia, Oct 2012
A very well organised tour and the Tour Director was up to the very high standard we have had before.
Excellent tour at a pace which suited us much better 3 Italian Glory , Australia, Oct 2012
Excellent tour at a pace which suited us much better than the Swiss tour we booked alongside this tour which only had one night at each place (although it went to a lot of great places). Hotels were good except for Venice (lido) which was a bit too small. Suggest Milan should include the Last Supper. We went back to Milan to see it. If you were going read more to drop anything, it might be Pisa with a bit more free time in Milan maybe including a tour of La Scala. The local guides were also excellent.
Coach and hotels were of a very high standard 2 Highlights of Turkey , Australia, Sep 2012
Our tour guide has excellent knowledge of all the places we toured. The coach and hotels were of a very high standard.
Tours through the markets in Fes were unbelievable 1 Spain, Morocco and Portugal , Australia, Sep 2012
The tour was fantastic. We saw everything that was possible to see in the available time. The coach was comfortable and the tour leader managed the seating extremely well. If I had to criticise anything at all, it would be that we didn't have enough free time to explore independently, and the early morning starts and late arrivals back at the hotel read more gave us only time to eat and sleep rather than socialise with the others on the tour. The food in the supposedly 4 star accommodation in Salamanca was absolutely appalling - cold stew! I would recommend that the final night's dining is to take place in Madrid rather than 2 nights earlier. I would thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone wishing to get a taste of Spain and Morocco. The tours through the markets in Fes were unbelievable - and a highlight of the trip.
A wonderful experience - as the tour name suggests! 2 Wonderful France , Australia, Sep 2012
Even though this tour was 'lively' pace we found it quite relaxing. Everything was arranged for us and everyone was so calm. Our tour guide was wonderful and we never felt like she rushed us along to see the next thing. I feel some of the 'optional' extras should have been included as part of the tour, especially as we sometimes felt that you would read more miss out on great opportunities if you didn't take them. We were a little disappointed that the optional tour of the Louvre wasn't offered - but you can't have everything :-) Southern France (Avignon in particular) were our highlights as was Monet's garden. Overall a wonderful experience - as the tour name suggests! And a great introduction to France for first time travellers.
Just what I needed to orientate myself to Europe 1 Grand European , Australia, Sep 2012
Just what I needed to orientate myself to Europe. Easy to book online, all our questions were answered efficiently, good amount of info given.
The tour was fantastic! 1 Real Britain , Australia, Sep 2012
The tour was fantastic! Tour guide Clare was very informative, helpful and nothing was ever a problem. The group was always ready on time and at no time did we have to wait for anyone. Would liked to have had an extra hour or so in some places but with so much packed in I know that wasn't possible. Hotels were top class. The 'Be My Guest' dinner was read more extraordinary. To sit down to dinner in a country manor was a memorable occasion that the hosts opened their home to strangers. The only downside was that I lost a 4GB SD memory card that contained 800 photos pretour and first 5 days of tour. In hindsight I shoulda/coulda/woulda have had the card burned to a dvd. Luckily I bought postcards at each stop but that doesn't replace the photos of me in different places. Well dome Global Journeys I will definitely tour again and also recommend you to friends and colleagues.
Highly recommend! 1 Treasures of France including Normandy , Australia, Sep 2012
Fantastic experience. Exceptional tour guide (Sarah), Highly recommend!
After 7 days of moves it was a bit too much of a good thing 4 Best of Switzerland , Australia, Sep 2012
We thought we would try a 'lively' tour just to see how it went. After 7 days of moves it was a bit too much of a good thing. However, the things we saw and did were great. Saddest case was the 'failed' St Bernard rescue dog who had been demoted to posing for photos and was even keener to get back to the central heating than we were - lovely dog anyway. read more (Ed. This coach tour has had a day added in 2013 to ensure a more lesiurely experience.)
All hotels were excellent except Sheraton in Casablanca 4 Best of Morocco , Australia, Sep 2012
An extra day at the end of the tour will be better as the last three days were full on. A toilet inside the coach will be great. Sheraton Hotel in Casablanca was not a 4 star hotel standard, room was smelly staff not helpful and not friendly. Cupboard door broken, in-room safe not working. All other hotels were excellent especially the Le Meridien Nfis read more and Berber Palace staff were great in every way. In Fes the carpet shop and the leather shop were pushy to sell their products felt uncomfortable and it should not be on the itinerary as there was an optional shopping tour in the afternoon. Overall Globus tours were much better organized than Trafalgar. Yvonne Brooks from Global Journeys was great and very helpful.
A great experience and I had so much fun 4 Autumn Colours , Australia, Sep 2012
Trafalgar's '8 Day Autumn Colours' tour of the USA was spectacular. The tour description stated 'Immerse yourself in the auburn hues of Eastern USA on this fascinating autumn itinerary that visits Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. See the quaint villages of New England, explore Acadia National Park, journey through the rolling countryside read more of the Berkshires and discover Revolutionary War history in Lexington and Concord.' True to word. Travelling solo for the first time to USA I decided to do a tour as part of my holiday. The tour director and coach driver were great. The tour director was very informative and organised. All travellers were great to be with and everyone got along so well with each other. At each destination you were given opportunities to explore by yourself or join 'new found friends' for meals and walks etc. Stop overs and accommodation were excellent throughout. I paid the 'single room supplement' which added to the overall cost but well worth it. The pace of the tour was reasonable. Overall, the tour was a great experience and I had so much fun. I met some wonderful people on the tour that I am staying in contact with. I would definitely do another Trafalgar tour again. I booked my tour through Global Journeys using their online services, which was very straightforward, easy and effortless. My consultant, Georgie, was great and answered all my concerns.
Having local people to share their knowledge was well received 1 Britain and Ireland Highlights , Australia, Sep 2012
Destinations well planned - Tour Director, Chris Tremwell, was very knowledgeable in all the history of our tour. This is the part of a tour that I particularly enjoy, listening to the local history and stories. Also having local people to share their knowledge with us through both Scotland and Ireland was well received. Congratulations must also go read more to our coach driver who navigated the narrow streets and tracks so well with complete safety for us tourists.
Very informative. Great coach, driver and tour director 1 East Coast USA and Canada , Australia, Sep 2012
Trafalgar very informative, great coach, driver and tour director. We did some deviations with additional time available. All accommodation was first class, optional tours also first class. Distance & time in the coach was moderated with plenty of stops. Would recommend Trafalgar and your office particularly Yvonne to all as exemplary.
Tour gave us time in each place without feeling rushed 2 Italian Glory , Australia, Sep 2012
We loved the tour from the moment we joined it. The organisation, the accommodation, the travel provided and especially the fun of the group that we toured with. We were unsure how we would enjoy a tour however we would not hesitate to join one where possible. We especially liked it being a leisurely tour as it gave us time in each place without feeling read more rushed or exhausted from travel. Highlight for us in 2012.
This tour is A1 2 , Australia, Sep 2012
For a first timer to Europe this tour is A1. It covers a lot and in style. I am past camping and the luxury old hotels were lovely. Food was plentiful and a taste bud treat. We had 30 people that all got on, and a tour director that knew a lot of interesting things. Cosimo the bus driver did not speak much english, but was very good at his job. I have read more a richer mind after doing this tour and I now have some more friends in Australia and America. Thankyou Gobal Journeys.
Hit all the highlights to give you a taste for a bit more 1 European Traveller , Australia, Aug 2012
It was very good. Hit all the highlights to give you a taste for a bit more. It needs 1 more day to allow for some time in Lucerne and commute to Venice. In general the accommodation was good, a bit poor in Florence where I could barely get into the shower. The bathroom was so small.
Trafalgar has done a very good job 2 Imperial Europe , Australia, Aug 2012
I totally enjoyed the Imperial Europe tour. It was a well organised tour. Trafalgar has done a very good job. The tour operator Craig Hill is an Australian and he is very good. He is very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I could not had asked for a better tour guide. The local guides are very good too! Overall the accommodation is very good except read more the hotel in Salzburg! It was shocking and basic! None of us were happy with this hotel. It would be perfect if the hotels that we are staying were in the city centre.
