Cherry blossom time 5 Splendours of Japan with Hiroshima , NSW, Australia, Mar 2016
My wife and I enjoyed this well planned small group tour very much. The tour director was knowledgeable and diligent, the natural landscapes and formal gardens were at their best (timing was ideal for the best of cherry blossom season) and our fellow travellers were good company. Highlights for us were the underbridge viewing of the spectacular Inland read more Sea whirlpools, the lovely Kenruen Gardens in Kanazawa, our perfect Japanese meal at Ryokan Yoshida Sanso in the elegant city of Kyoto and our day trip to the island of Mijajima with its shrine, O'torii gate and deer. The only minor negatives were the quality of the headsets and the resultant occasional difficulty hearing/understanding our tour director, and a poorly planned final day in/getting to Osaka. As always we were happy to be in the safe hands of Yvonne at Global Journeys.
Fabulous tour 3 Splendours of Japan with Hiroshima , NT, Australia, Mar 2016
I enjoyed this tour immensely. I travelled with a great bunch of like minded travellers with a great Tour guide, Yama and reliable coach drivers. I enjoyed the meals included in the tour from the accommodation breakfast, lunches and dinners. Food was always fresh and different. Itinerary and activities were great. Accommodation overall was good and read more centrally located in the cities we visited.
Relaxing trip 5 Splendours of Japan , QLD, Australia, Mar 2016
Overall, it was a good experience. We met some interesting people on the trip. Tour director Coco was amazing. She was extremely patient (even when there was a particularly annoying/ difficult co-passenger). The places we visited had a good mix of temples, castles, art, local activity/cuisine etc. We got tired of the castles towards the end of the trip. read more The cherry blossoms were not in full bloom as expected. The pace of the trip was good. Some of us decided to explore more places outside of the tour times (took local trains, went to Tokyo tower, Shibuya station and Harajuku - not covered in the trip). What was really disappointing was the false information about bullet train journey and another visit to a particular place on day 2. Trafalgar kept the incorrect information in the itinerary for an entire year! There is no point keep misleading information. Most of the meals were catered to, the rest we bought on our own. If you happen to be someone who does not enjoy authentic Japanese food, does not like exploring new foods or plain dislike carbs, I would suggest you pre purchase meals. This is meant to be an overall cultural experience but we had some people on the tour craving western food every day. We were keen to try different foods and tried to soak up the entire experience. Learning basic phrases in Japanese came in very handy.
Spanish Wonder 2 Spanish Wonder , VIC, Australia, Mar 2016
We were only Aussies and had a wonderful time with families and couples from South Africa, Singapore, Philippines, Canada and several states of USA.
An amazing introduction to Europe 2 , NSW, Australia, Jan 2016
This trip was an amazing introduction for us to Europe. The trip was well organised and fun. My wife and I enjoyed it very much. The tour director was knowledgeable about the places we went to, organised, and very helpful - he displayed a conscious effort to help us get the most of our journey.
Fantastic trip through Europe!   1 , NSW, Australia, Jan 2016
We had an incredible time away in Europe, what a whirlwind! A fantastic company, well organised, great accommodation, wonderful places and fabulous itinerary. Thank you again to Yvonne who always does a magnificent job in organising everything from accommodation, flights etc. Thank you again!
A White New Year! 1 Imperial Europe (Winter) , SA , Australia, Dec 2015
We had snow for the first time on New Years Eve which was great, had a great trip but I think I prefer to have everything included so you don't have to take a lot of extra money and everyone on the trip does things together. The accommodation was good, a couple could have been better, and the location at the beginning and end of Trafalgar's trips I read more notice, as this was my second one could be in the CBD so it is easier to get to and from airport.
Excellent holiday with Trafalgar 2 Imperial Europe (Winter) , WA, Australia, Dec 2015
Traveling through Central Europe with Trafalgar was an all round excellent experience. The number of destinations was appropriate to the tour length (keeping travel times to a minimum), the accommodation (including a Hilton in Vienna) was excellent and the tour director was just a joy to travel with. The tour director was a good mix of informative, read more friendly and efficient. She dealt with any hiccups (e.g. luggage delivered to the wrong room) without any trouble, and quickly, and was always conscious of special dietary requirements or requests. The local guides in Prague, Budapest, Vienna and Salzburg were welcoming, entertaining, knowledgeable and able to respond appropriately to any questions asked. Highlights included the Be My Guest dinner at a vineyard in Budapest, Budapest By Night, the classical concert in Vienna and the tour in Salzburg with Sound of Music highlights. My only suggestion is that maybe an optional could be offered in Bratislava, Slovakia as it seemed an interesting location, perhaps worthy of a longer stop. We had a diverse range of people on our tour from 10 to 60something which made the travelling experience good fun. An excellent tour, and experience overall, and I would have no hesitation recommending Trafalgar.
Family trip 2 Highlights of Peru , NSW, Australia, Dec 2015
Peru trip was good, well paced. The accommodation at Easter Island could be better, but understood the difficulty in this remote island.
A taste of Britain   1 Real Britain (Winter) , NSW, Australia, Dec 2015
The tour took in many interesting and amazing sites of Britain. The sites were interesting as well as the background information supplied by the guide. The pace was constant and the group worked well to ensure we stayed on timetable. The drivers were very skilled winding the large coach through streets that were designed for horse and cart travel. The read more only issue was how quick the sun disappeared in the winter afternoons.
Amazing Christmas market tour, well organised   2 Christmas Markets of Austria, Germany and Switzerland , WA, Australia, Dec 2015
A well organised tour with excellent information provided by our guide Arne. A good selection of markets presented to us and there was something in the markets for everyone, be it hot food and drinks or any one of a thousand Christmas mementos or ornaments. Having a group photo taken was a nice touch and the use of headsets during city and the Schonbrunn read more Palace tours was excellent. Highly recommended.
Excellent tour of Spain, Morocco and Portugal 5 Spain, Morocco and Portugal (Winter) , Australia, Nov 2015
We booked our tour through Yvonne Brooks who was extremely helpful, efficient and guided us through all our questions. The tour was of an exceptional standard, with our wonderful tour director Richard who was informative, patient, professional and covered every aspect of our journey including making sure that the lone vegetarian was well catered for. read more Accommodation was excellent , as were most locations. Attractions ,cultural insights, history from Richard and local guides were fantastic. We would highly recommend this tour.
I would opt in future for a smaller tour 1 Imperial Europe (Winter) , WA, Australia, Oct 2015
Firstly, in my opinion, the tour was good value for the money asked. Hotels are good quality although I would have paid more for them to be closer to city centres. The food was classic 'tourist' food, with two exceptions during a Be My Guest and a concert evening. By the end of the tour I was hanging out for vegetables, particularly of the green variety. read more Naturally, catering is done to a budget in respect to included meals and it's well worth considering doing some research for local restaurants that offer more than the included fare.My overall impression of the tour was that Trafalgar offers a broad sweep of attractions and places of interest that can be viewed on the outside, rather than including attractions where one goes inside and experiences what they have to offer. Free time is often not long enough to gain some depth on one's own initiative. The tour is more of a 'sampler' that allows the traveller to decide which destinations to come back to to see in more depth.

The coach comfort was my issue. Two reasonably sized people (not tiny, nor large) find it difficult to sit in the seats with spines vertical, an important issue for those who are post 55, and either one or both must either lean towards the window or the aisle when seated. Long periods of travel between cities were an excruciating experience for me, solved when the tour director offered me the only single seat available. Having experienced a Trafalgar tour where the coach was almost completely full with 47 (I think) passengers, I think I would opt in future for a smaller tour.
Germany was a great country to visit 2 Best of Germany , WA, Australia, Oct 2015
For this tour, our tour guide was Colette Endstrum. Colette was an absolute mine if information about Germany, it's history, culture and politics. This was of great interest to both my sister and myself. Colette made the group feel as if it had been her best tour and this is areal skill. Petre, the driver was a very skilled , and was very courteous read more and helpful - especially as my sister had some physical struggles. Germany was a great country to visit.
Excellent experience 2 , VIC, Australia, Oct 2015
The best thing about the tour was it elaborated the Irish culture and history very well. Excellent experience. I'd surely recommend to others.
Would not hesitate to use Global Journeys again 2 Best of Britain , NSW, Australia, Oct 2015
Although the tour pace was hectic it needed to be as the amount covered in sights and experiences was wonderful. We would highly recommend Trafalgar. Global Journeys did a fantastic job of taking care of all our arrangements and we would not hesitate to use them again.
Worry free holiday   3 Britain and Ireland Highlights , SA, Australia, Oct 2015
The tour was very good, although a bit busier than I expected. Quite a few early morning starts. The tour guide was excellent, very informative. Hotel accommodation was generally good, although the Belfast hotel had very cold bedrooms. Some of the others complained as well. I requested extra bedding. The hotel we were booked into at the beginning and read more end of the tour had us booked into a double instead of a twin room. They were not happy that a mistake had been made, and blamed Global Journeys for it. (MD. Oh aren't they naughty blaming us!) The coaches were generally okay, but the seats were not really comfortable for those of us who are height challenged. On the whole, it was a good trip, and I would recommend Trafalgar and Global Journeys to anyone.
Our first guided tour and we do not regret it 3 Tastes and Sounds of the South , QLD, Australia, Oct 2015
This tour was very well conducted and went along without a hitch. The tour guide made sure everyone was comfortable and fully informed about upcoming events or activities. This was our first guided tour and we do not regret it.
Would definitely recommend 1 Highlights of Turkey , WA, Australia, Oct 2015
Excellent tour taking in all major highlights and a couple of extras! Would definitely recommend. Our tour guide was very well informed and helpful. A great tour.
Very satisfied with the overall experience 5 Best of Devon and Cornwall , VIC, Australia, Sep 2015
Very satisfied with the overall experience, but as l have traveled on other UK journeys l felt that this tour did visit quite a number of sites l had already seen. Would have really liked to visit more of what Devon & Cornwell had to offer that other tour don't. Such as all those small seaside villages, more of Dartmoor etc. More sightseeing could read more have been included on some of the days as well as some of the visits to places were too long eg; St Ives & Bath. One must also be mindful that some travelers are still quite fit and able to cope with greater paced days.
