Dive Into Culture and see remarkable displays of an ancient world during an included visit to the Acropolis Museum, and see Hadrian's Arch and the stadium where the first modern Olympics took place in 1896. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy on your own. Stroll through the Plaka, people-watch in Syntagma Square or go in search of the city's tastiest souvlaki – the choice is yours. (B)

Arriving in Corinth, join a Local Specialist to explore an ancient city that several empires fought over throughout the centuries. Continue to Mycenae, a mighty kingdom of Ancient Greece, where you'll see the Beehive Tombs (the Treasury of Atreus), the Lion Gate and the remains of Agamemnon's Royal Palace, in the company of a Local Specialist.

Later, travel to Epidaurus to visit the ancient theatre and view the Sanctuary of Asclepius, the God of Medicine, whose snake-entwined staff remains the symbol of medicine to this day. Arriving in the Venetian town of Nafplion later, you'll dine in our hotel this evening. (B/D) Stay: Amalia Nafplio

Best of Greece in July 2022 1 , QLD, Australia, Jul 2022
Again another wonderfully crafted tour operated by Trafalgar! Tour Director Nina and Well-being Director Mia did a fantastic job showing us the rich and diverse culture Greece has to offer. Would certainly tap the Greek Island portion on the end of the tour if we had our time again.
Ancient sights of Greece   3 , VIC, Australia, Nov 2018
This is a wonderful tour of Greece taking in the cultural history of an ancient culture. If you love the Greek myths this is for you. Really lovely people, local guides and an overload of facts derived from relics and remains. The touring days are filled with sights, lunch restaurants and free time to walk and poke around. Lots to see but be sure to read more be fairly fit. Lots of cobblestones and stairs. Those with sore hips, ankles and knees will be challenged. You will eat way too much at the breakfast buffet, ice creams and other sweets embedded in Greek cuisine. You don’t have many extra tours to pay for so a good value tour. Eating freestyle in Delphi was a highlight.
Ancient History 3 , New Zealand, Aug 2018
We have just returned from a most interesting tour of historic sites in Greece. This was our third tour with Trafalgar, each with exceptional tour guides (we call them ‘gems’). The world is becoming full of tourists so we recommend travelling with a tour group - in some places you could wait hours to gain admittance in searing heat as was the case all read more over Europe this year. Leanne, it was a pleasure working with you - efficient & good communication. We will return for your assistance for sure.
Delightful holiday 4 , NSW, Australia, May 2018
The whole experience was incredible. Our local specialist was an incredible woman with a wealth of knowledge. She was so patient and cheerful with everyone. The itinerary was well planned and we never felt rushed. Most recommended restaurants were incredible (some alright-ish). We formed incredible bonds with the rest of the group and created unforgettable experiences.
I had an excellent experience 2 , QLD, Australia, Sep 2015
I had an excellent experience. As someone with a Greek background, it was probably unusual that I would choose a Greek tour but as a solo traveller, I found it an excellent way to see more of Greece and was guided by a professional and knowledgeable tour director, driver and local guide. All accommodation and breakfasts as well as included meals were read more of an excellent standard and the pace of the tour was organised well. In particular, our director/guide, Sandra always timed our visits well so that we would be one of the first groups to arrive at popular spots and allowing us to have a more thorough and less rushed visit than if we had arrived later in the day. This also meant that we largely avoided the midday/afternoon heat in open places without much shade. I unfortunately became ill with an ear infection on one of the days but I was looked after promptly, taken to the doctor and monitored by both the guide and driver for the remainder of the days of the tour. It was an excellent tour, I met some lovely people and I came away with an enriching experience.
The tour itself was wonderful 3 , WA, Australia, May 2015
The tour itself was wonderful. Greece is such a beautiful country! Our Tour Guide (Yannis) was excellent- very knowledgeable about Greek history and culture, responsive to the needs of the group and with a good sense of humour! However the accommodation in some locations was not as good as we have come to expect on Trafalgar Tours. In particular read more the accommodation at Delphi was below standard. Although it was clean and tidy and the management were pleasant, our hotel room was very dated and so many things didn't work properly, the fridge, most power points, the phone to mention just a few things. The other bugbear is that as we were such a large group it seemed to take ages to board and disembark whenever we arrived anywhere. Trafalgar should probably reduce their numbers per tour group to 30-35 people rather than 40 plus.
