Fantastic experience provided. Leena Hazeldine (Tour Director) and Karl Stones (Coach Driver) were very knowledgeable about their profession and added to the experience. Will certainly look to travel again next year in Europe with Trafalgar - look forward to receiving some details.
As previously, booking through Global Journeys was very well handled and easy to finalise. The Best of Scotland Tour was promoted as longer stays, later starts which usually are after 9am however we only had one late start at the end of the tour. When I queried this with the Tour Director he said that it was not possible to start the day after 9am therefore read more this tour should be promoted as such. The accommodation in the Highlands and Glasgow were great however the Novotel City Centre Edinburgh was just passable. After staying there can understand why they don't get good reviews. The Welcome dinner was more of a snack with not much food served but the wine was excellent however the farewell dinner was a fabulous and memorable way to end the tour. Overall I had a brilliant experience from going on the tour and have some fantastic memories of the places we visited and the things we did.
Thank you to Global Journeys for your excellent service when booking my Switzerland & Austria tour. Booking was hassle free and I was kept up to date at all stages prior to travel and upon my return. My Trafalgar tour was excellent. The itinerary was well planned and encompassed so many beautiful places. I chose optional excursions that involved scenic read more tours, cruises and village visits, and all were fantastic. I can highly recommend this tour and would definitely choose Global Journeys for future travel bookings.

Overall, it has been a good positive experience. There was some communication breakdown, especially on the first day. There was supposed to be a meeting at 5.30 pm to meet the director and others. We went out and returned at 5.20 pm - could not see any Trafalgar group in the lobby, so we went to our room to freshen up, got back to the lobby and still read more could not see others. On inquiry, we were told that the group had gone to the coach at 5.15 pm. We asked where so we could join them. Through the concierge, I spoke to Andrew of Trafalgar who advised me that the others had gone ahead to the cruise departing at 7.00 pm We said we wold take a taxi and he said he would relay the info to the guide to wait for us. So, together with 1 other person, we rushed to the pier, arriving at 6.32 pm - only to find that the boat had left promptly at 6.30 pm. We were naturally disappointed, thinking that we were in time for the 7.00pm departure. What's more, in getting the subway back, we encountered smoke and had to quickly evacuate - before the fire engines arrived. We got back to the hotel rather stressed and tired. After we complained to the guide, we had to wait for a few days for a response. This resulted in us having a credit towards the optional tour expense incurred. Because we were adequately compensated, we did not feel too bad after all. We felt the cruise director should have made an effort to contact us or leave a message in our room - to inform us about the cruise. Most of the first meetings in the past were held somewhere in the same hotel - so, being a little late was usually not a problem.
We chose this tour because unlike other tours, it covered most of Italy. The overnight stops were mostly 2 nights which we felt would be more enjoyable than packing every night. This was our first European coach tour and it was certainly a great way to be introduced to new and interesting places. There is no way we would have seen and done so much if read more we had travelled independently. The tour was certainly fast pace but we were ok with that. The accommodation was excellent and exceeded our expectations. Marina, our Trafalgar tour guide, was just amazing and made our trip informative and fun! We chose not to do all the optional tours as it was nice to do our own thing and have a break from the group. We always did the optional evening tours which included dinner and they were always fun and worthwhile. Our experiences with Global Journeys was streamline and faultless. We look forward to booking our next trip.
I had the most amazing time on my tour of Britain. I can't believe how much I saw in just 11 days. This was my first bus tour ever and I wasn't quite sure what to expect, especially as I was travelling on my own. The Tour Director was extremely helpful and his knowledge of the area we covered was fantastic. Our driver was courteous and well organised. read more Together they made a great team. It is an extremely fast paced tour but that is what I signed up for and it suited me as I usually hit the ground running. I will be signing up to another Trafalgar Tour just as soon as I save up. Thank you Michelle for booking my trip and any help I needed before I left Australia.
It was a very good way to tour all over Britain in 11 days and see so many towns castles and sightseeing. Highly recommended.

Tour Director and Driver were excellent and very experienced. They had a good knowledge of the area. The tour was well organised, and there were adequate comfort stops. There was a good range of optional extras, though we only chose to do two, which were both great. The included meals were all of a good standard.

A thoroughly enjoyable experience all round! We appreciated our agent, Yvonne Brookes' excellent service and our Trafalgar tour director Maria exceeded our expectations with her knowledge of the area and interesting commentary throughout!
I had an excellent experience. As someone with a Greek background, it was probably unusual that I would choose a Greek tour but as a solo traveller, I found it an excellent way to see more of Greece and was guided by a professional and knowledgeable tour director, driver and local guide. All accommodation and breakfasts as well as included meals were read more of an excellent standard and the pace of the tour was organised well. In particular, our director/guide, Sandra always timed our visits well so that we would be one of the first groups to arrive at popular spots and allowing us to have a more thorough and less rushed visit than if we had arrived later in the day. This also meant that we largely avoided the midday/afternoon heat in open places without much shade. I unfortunately became ill with an ear infection on one of the days but I was looked after promptly, taken to the doctor and monitored by both the guide and driver for the remainder of the days of the tour. It was an excellent tour, I met some lovely people and I came away with an enriching experience.
Didn't have to worry about anything except getting back to the coach on time. Everything went like clockwork. Saw and did a huge amount of countryside, towns, cities and sights. Didn't have as much time as I would have liked in some places , but given the amount of territory covered it was a small trade off.
A great trip. Be prepared for long drives and not a lot of downtime but still enough for plenty of laughs and good times with new friends. Our tour director Pascal was eager for us to experience all that we could from our trip. We loved it. Some of the hotels were very average at best. The food was also not as good as we were expecting. You need to read more allow some downtime in Paris after the tour finishes. Overall, great value for money.

Highlights of Spain and Portugal

The tour was thought out very well - we visited many Spanish beautiful cities and villages. However the hotels, we stayed with, were located quite far from city centers, what significantly reduced our possibilities to explore those places. In the most important ancient cities, like Toledo and Cordoba, we stayed only for couple of hours, that definitely read more was not sufficient to get a feel of the place. At the same time significant time was allocated for launches and other breaks. Our opinion was that tour organisers should have concentrated more on sightseeing, rather than on dinners. The tour director was a great person, but not very knowledgeable, so he could not provide a real important and interesting information about the visited places. Over all the tour was good, but not as great as our previous tour with Trafalgar around Scandinavia.

Northern California with Yosemite National Park

Our tour highlights - Nappa Valley Wine Train Excellent. Lake Tahoe, Yosemite National Park, Monteray very very good. Also of course San Francisco. Old Sacramento a waste of time, too long spent there. There were too many opportunities for souvenir shopping and they were pushed so much. We really enjoyed the very good quality accommodation and appreciated read more arriving at an early time so we could relax and enjoy our surroundings. The happy hours provided at some of the hotels were appreciated especially by the New Zealanders and Australians because of the currency difference. A good opportunity to get to know fellow travellers.

The tour mainly concentrated on the big cities and this is fair enough given the countries visited and the time available. However it confirmed my preference for the smaller places and the country. Highlights for me were Lake Bled and Slovenia generally.

Highlights of France and Barcelona

The tour and places visited were most interesting and enjoyable. We were sorry to miss the final night Dinner in order to board our cruise. The reason for taking the tour was to give us a leisurely trip from Paris to Barcelona - this it certainly did. We particularly enjoyed our Dinner in the french countryside at the establishment run by the 80 yr read more old lady, sorry I have forgotten her name. Our Tour Leader David Moore was friendly, sincere, knowledgeable and hard working. (We only arrived home yesterday as we had a 3 week cruise and 3 days in Barcelona. Now need another holiday.) Many thanks Yvonne.
The scenery was superb. The tour staff were very good and highly professional. The accommodation was first class ... except for Yellowstone. Yellowstone was pathetic. No internet connection, no complimentary bottles of water, no safe for storage of valuables. We could have coped with all that if it had not been for the chaos at breakfast. We had to read more line up and wait for 15 minutes (some others waited longer).

Great tour, very knowledgeable and helpful tour guide, Antonella. Slightly disappointed by the number of optional excursions, which added to the cost, but still overall good value for money. Global Journeys (Yvonne) arranged for early delivery of our paperwork, as we left Australia two weeks before coach tour, which was great and much appreciated. Itinerary read more on tour was great, and did allow for some free time.

Wonderful tour with beautiful scenery. A nice pace with plenty of free time, very enjoyable. Tour guide had very interesting and knowledgeable information and guided us well with local restaurants and eateries. The optional excursions were very good, the young boys that ran the cruise to Maligne Lake were fantastic and very funny. Most hotels were very read more comfortable and clean and breakfast was always good.
