Good tour to get a taste of what Britain is all about 1 Britain and Ireland Highlights , VIC, Australia, Aug 2015
For an 8 day tour it was a great holiday. We saw so much and tour guide was very knowledgeable. Met some lovely people. A good tour to get a taste of what Britain is all about.
We had the absolute best time 3 Grand Italian Experience , QLD, Australia, Aug 2015
When planning our holiday, I was very hesitant about using a travel agent as we had troubles in the past that left a bad taste in my mouth and so when looking for our tour I was very hesitant. As it turned out, my fears were short lived and completely turned around with Global Journeys. At the start of our trip we met up with 30 people for our organised read more tour wondering how we would handle spending that long in a bus with people we did not know. As it turned out that was the least of our worries. We had the absolute best time with some extremely wonderful people from all over the world and worried more about getting to the bus on time, getting to breakfast on time, meeting the boat on time, making sure we found a loo before the next run and remembering how to do a simple task such as ordering a coffee.

Our tour director was not only funny, extremely well knowledge in all aspects of our trip but was just such a wonderful person. Our driver was a consummate professional and although he did not talk much he astounded us at times with his skill at the wheel and not once did we feel uncomfortable even looking down at some pretty hairy slopes along the way. Unfortunately, we ended our tour with the Trafalgar Travel group and all went our separate ways but some wonderful friendships were made along the way that I know will last a long time. All dealings with Global Journeys from initial enquiries, booking, deposit, final payment right up to getting our documents, were on time, complete and absolutely trouble free. The website and bookings page made getting prepared for our trip so easy and allowed us to have our holiday knowing we had done everything we needed to do and take everything we needed for our trip. All the consultants we dealt with during this process were dedicated, efficient and helpful and could not fault anything whatsoever. A really great company to deal with and would recommend them to anyone.
I will recommend this tour to my friends 3 , QLD, Australia, Aug 2015
I thought the tour was very good especially the tour director Scott and the driver Mario. The included meals were average. Overall the tour was a good experience. Yvonne was very helpful. I will recommend this tour to my friends and wouldn't mind booking another tour with Global Journeys. Thanks Yvonne.
Exceptional travel director 1 Grand European , VIC, Australia, Aug 2015
Our travel director, Howard Hazekamp was exceptional. Howard made sure the trip ran like clockwork, but kept it fun along the way, & was very helpful with any questions or assistance needed. The Trafalgar tour was good value but of high quality, I would recommend Trafalgar greatly.
I can't wait to do another! 2 Best of Germany , NSW, Australia, Aug 2015
We thoroughly enjoyed our Trafalgar tour, everything was excellent! We got to see so much of Germany with a really experienced and amazing tour director who always pointed out the special insights that other tourists wouldn't see. From the first day our tour director made us feel like family. He made the trip fun and all we had to do was show up on read more time. Germany is a wonderful country and this tour really helped us see the highlights as well as things off the beaten track. I can't wait to do another Trafalgar tour!
Enjoyed my holiday, but rather poor coach used 1 Treasures of Ireland , VIC, Australia, Aug 2015
The coach used was rather poor and not as good as the one used in the Best of Britain tour the week earlier. One seat, (I think it was the second from the back, driver's side) had to be kept empty each day as the seat had been anchored too close to the one before and it was not comfortable to sit in. Also, the seats were not on a raised platform as read more the English bus' were, resulting in poorer visibility. The tour guide spoke a lot about subjects she knew about, but we seemed to pass a lot of towns, historical monuments etc, that were never mentioned but probably held a rich history. Our English tour director, Alan Drake, was far better than his Irish counterpart. I am grateful to Global Journeys for the assistance with my booking. I enjoyed the service provided and enjoyed my holiday.
Had a fabulous time 1 Best of Italy , NSW, Australia, Aug 2015
Had a fabulous time. This was made more memorable by our Tour Director Marisa Lukovic. She treated us like family and really knew her stuff. Some of the hotels were a bit 'old and tired'.
Everything went very smoothly 3 , NSW, Australia, Jul 2015
From the moment l booked with Hannah till l arrived home, everything went very smoothly. I have spoken to Hannah personally and Georgie too, they are both very professional on the phone. Our Trafalgar leader, Sophia was an amazing young lady, she knew so much information about each place we were visiting, I thought she was reading it from a book but read more she was saying it all out of her head! Everything went very smoothly under her directions. She had a lovely, caring personality. While still maintaining a professional manner at all times! Our bus driver, Marcello was a very capable driver (we even had an incident where a truck travelling alongside us was coming into our lane, the driver of the truck was going to sleep at the wheel apparently!). But Marcello kept us all safe. We even got lost at one point and he had to reverse that big bus down a very narrow street with 'Juliet' balconies all over the place and he did it without a scratch. Someone in our group said 'he could drive the bus through the eye of a needle' and we all agreed. Everyone concerned is a credit to their company.
My third Trafalgar tour and will certainly not be my last 4 Bohemian Highlights , WA, Australia, Jul 2015
A wonderful tour including modern day and historical experiences. The tour guide was able to blend all together with interesting as well as quirky information. I did not take mother than three of the optional excursions as that would have meant the lack of personal time, particularly in the evenings. It was important to have time to explore places on read more my own. Hotels in the main were excellent and air conditioning essential as we experienced 39C for quite a few days. Unfortunately, two of the hotels did not offer tea and coffee making facilities which would have been greatly appreciated on arrival. Food included was terrific with sumptuous breakfasts provided and exposure to local gourmet on some if the included dinners. This is my third Trafalgar Tour and will certainly not be my last. As a solo traveller, I always felt safe and included at all times.
Saw everything we needed to see and more 2 Britain and Ireland Highlights , VIC, Australia, Jul 2015
Enjoyable tour. Tour Director Hilary was a wealth of knowledge, I think she was born to do her job! We saw everything we needed to see and more. Would recommend Trafalgar, and a big thanks to Yvonne brooks at Global Journeys, who made it all happen for us.
Great value for money 5 Britain and Ireland Grandeur , NSW, Australia, Jul 2015
The Cumberland hotel rooms were terrible - cramped room , only a double bed and nowhere to put luggage. Didn't really like the clientele either. Trying to load & unload the coach at this hotel was a catastrophe. Thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the tour & thought it was great value for money. Loved Killarney in Ireland. Some of the stops could have included read more more time to look at the sights eg the castle at Alnwick & Bunratty Castle needed to be included & they weren't. The Be My Guest dinner & Irish night at Three Rock in Dublin were highlights.
Definitely do this tour if you love history. 1 Best of Greece with 4-Day Aegean Cruise , VIC, Australia, Jul 2015
Definitely do this tour if you love history. I didn't know what to expect but this was not really what I thought to be a 'holiday'. Our guide was unbelievably good so she made up for my unhappiness. Highlights for me were Olympia, Delphi, Nafplio and a small town called Nafpaktos which we didn't spend enough time in. Again, this is my personal experience, read more everyone else had an amazing time with all the ruins etc, I was looking for a beach holiday which I found on the cruise so this was my highlight. Accommodation was OK but then again you don't go on tour for the hotels. Coach was really uncomfortable, even with air conditioning on, it was so stinking hot inside.
A very informative and educational tour 4 WWI and WWII Battlefields , QLD, Australia, Jul 2015
A very informative and educational tour visiting a number of allied countries WW1 and WW2 memorials, cemeteries, museums and historical sites. Also included in the itinerary was general sightseeing of tourist highlights of London, Paris and Amsterdam. Tour was well paced, the coach was spacious with ample leg room, and hotels comfortable and well placed close to town centres.
Trafalgar showed us some wonderful sights 2 Best of France , SA, Australia, Jul 2015
A great trip. France is a beautiful country and Trafalgar showed us some wonderful sights. The quality of the accommodation and the tour guide's knowledge was excellent. He was very helpful with assistance with the French language which was a great help. The days can be long but absolutely worth it for what you get to see and experience. We have some read more wonderful memories and met some great people.
Excellent tour! 3 Balkan Delight , SA, Australia, Jul 2015
Excellent choice of places visited and help by tour director to make it informative and enjoyable. He was very attentive to detail. Very interesting countries visited. The visit to Montenegro was very abbreviated and probably didn't justify the extra travel required. In general however it was excellent!
Whole tour was amazing 3 European Whirl , NSW, Australia, Jul 2015
The whole tour was amazing the inclusions as well as the optional experiences. Our Tour Guide Stephen Pearce was just spectacular he made each and everyone of us on the tour feel very special which was a real bonus and his extra thoughtfulness to passengers who were celebrating special events I thought he went above and beyond which was just super. read more The places we visited were just gorgeous and a lot of the places I would definitely go back to and spend a little more time there. Steve's knowledge was just amazing and it made us love the place even more once we were filled in on the history and he did quite a few extra special things before we arrived in each country to understand and appreciate each of these beautiful countries. Steve actually put together a DVD with each countries highlights that he would play before we entered each country which was a really nice touch. Another stand out on the trip was our amazing coach driver Kristjan, he did some amazing driving through some quite challenging countryside and we always felt safe in his hands and he was always on time to pick us up even though he may have been presented with some difficult traffic conditions. The trip was spectacular in every way and I would certainly book through Global Journeys again and I would certainly travel with Trafalgar Tours again. My brother Ian is of the same opinion. Magnificent trip at the right pace for me 3 European Whirl , NSW, Australia, Jul 2015
It was a magnificent trip at the right pace for me. We had an awesome Tour Director who worked very hard to ensure we all had a great time & felt like VIPS wherever we went. Our coach driver was very professional & all his skills were demonstrated as he drove through the very narrow Fuker Pass. Our driver was always friendly & helpful. I liked having read more local guides to show me around places like Venice & Rome, they were very knowledgeable & humourous. All optional extras were very worthwhile and good value for money. Our group enjoyed the whole trip and everyone got involved in singing on the coach after nights out - a lot of fun. Many long term friendships were formed & several people from different parts of the world will stay in touch. I travelled on my own & opted for the single supplement & I had a great experience - it suited me & I would certainly recommend travelling this way with Trafalgar to others. I had a ball 2 Best of Britain , VIC, Australia, Jul 2015
Some of the accommodation, especially in Scotland, was below the quality expected, but overall, I had a ball. Thanks Emily, for your assistance in booking my tour.
Perfect for what we wanted to go & see 2 East Coast USA and Canada , NSW, Australia, Jul 2015
Itinerary for East Coast USA & Canada was perfect for what we wanted to go & see. Seats on the tour were very poor, especially when we travelled all day on the coach. Ben, the tour director was knowledgeable, very patient & polite. Most hotels we stayed, were far away from shops, restaurants. It's OK if you stayed one night, two or more should be a read more bit closer or in the tourist area not in the financial district. The optional tour, the Amish was interesting culture to see but food was disappointing. This was our fourth trip with Trafalgar. Global Journeys, Yvonne & the team have been very helpful & kind all the way. We'll be very happy to recommend their service to our friends & family. Thank you.
The tour as a whole was very good 1 European Highlights , WA, Australia, Jul 2015
The tour as a whole was very good. I would have liked more time in Amsterdam as I do like to have a look around and shop. We had no shopping time at all. Whilst it was nice visiting the Cuckoo Clock House I would have preferred to spend less time there and more time at Rhein Falls in Schaffhausen, there was more to do there. Overall though it gave us read more a look at some beautiful places and we met some really lovely people.
