Magical 1
Jannice, QLD, Australia, Jun 2015
This trip was absolutely magical. From first contact with Global Journeys to the flight home. First class on-tour guide who kept us informed of our surroundings and the history that went with it. Flawless baggage service at accommodations and exceptional dining and entertainment choices. A trip that will stay with me as the standard to match for all future travel.
We really got a feel for the cities we visited 6
Alison, WA, Australia, Jun 2015
Really wonderful tour, the Tour guide (Lara) and Driver (Janos) were both incredible and turned a really good trip into a fantastic one. We had at least 2 nights in each hotel so it wasn't as rushed as some tours are. We really got a feel for the cities we visited. The hotels were all very nice, and most were walking distance to the town centre, but read more not all of them (Sheraton and Hilton) had free wifi in the rooms. The coach had wifi (But it could be dodgy on the road with all the mountains) The meals were lovely, and the activities were fun. Highlights were the visit to the Eagles Nest, Neuschwanstein, and the dinner/concert in Vienna.
Our Tour Guide Deby went out of her way to make this a memorable trip. Our coach driver Wali was courteous but not the smoothest of drivers. Washington has lots to offer and was an early highlight of the tour. Staying in Lancaster County among the Amish was a good experience and the hotel we stayed in was one of the best on the trip, as was the dinner read more that night. Niagara Falls was amazing and we were glad that we had 2 nights there (one night was 1 July which happens to be Canada's Independence Day and we saw a fantastic fireworks display above the falls!). The optional dinner at a nearby winery was fantastic and well worth including. Ottowa and Quebec were the highlights of the Canadian part of the trip for us, particularly Quebec with its cobblestone streets in the old town and the historic buildings. The Civilisation Museum is well worth a visit. Boston was great. Lots to see and do along with some interesting local seafood dishes.
Our overall impression of this tour was that it was over-organised leaving little free time to explore for yourself. Great if you like having everything organised for you, but this wasn't the style of holiday that we were looking for. We were expecting really top accommodation as we paid nearly twice as much to travel with Trafalgar as we would have if we had gone with Cosmos. The accommodation was only a bit better standard than what we experienced with Cosmos tours. The included meals were only average quality in our opinion (apart from the meal at the winery close to Niagara Falls). Generally we had to be on the coach at 5.30pm to go to the included dinners and we were back at the hotel generally by 9pm. They were not good value for money in our opinion. We would have been happier finding our own places to have dinner at.
Fabulous trip - tiring but very enjoyable. The only criticism: the 'Badlands' optional should have been included as it was definitely in a Scenic /National Park. We were in Rapid City for 2 days (with not much else to do) and this excursion should have been included. An extra $US40 each was charged - nothing else to do in Rapid City, so we paid. Our read more tour guide, Stephen McNally was very competent and courteous.
Overall the tour was well worth it despite difficult terrain in some Cornish villages. The Tour Director (Maria) was quite entertaining with sometimes hilarious historical stories which may or may not be true. Coach was spacious as there were only 20 on the tour and everyone was friendly. We needed to keep a brisk pace getting up and down some of the read more cobbled narrow streets and we could have done with more explanation about this aspect prior to the tour. We were, however, given the impression that this wouldn't be a problem for any of us. Wasn't always the case, but we all managed it. If anything, I would suggest that the corrugated mattress I had on the first night in Bideford be swapped in favour of a better hotel. The other hotels at Plymouth and Bristol were good. I would recommend this tour because of the beautiful scenery and interesting historical background to many of the places visited.
I found this trip quite tiring as many early starts due to crowds. I think that the travel director oversold the optional extras and they were very expensive (> $800 AUD) in proportion to the base cost. The trip was marred by the crowds, high temperatures and the high cost of everything particularly in Paris and Rome and Venice. I would never go read more in high season again. I'm not sure what Trafalgar could do to solve these problems?
I would encourage you book this tour 3

This was an amazing tour & I highly recommend it. The places visited were stunning. The tour guide was very knowledgeable & enhanced the overall experience. If you are considering this tour, I would encourage you to proceed with your booking.
Well organised tour with professional and friendly staff 2
Michael Parker, NSW, Australia, Jun 2015
A very well organised tour with a very professional and friendly staff which covered all areas from history to scenery to days out seeing and tasting the wonders of Slovenia and Croatia.
This tour was BELLISSIMO. The image we had of Tuscany in our minds was exactly what we experienced. Our tour guide was brilliant - helpful, knowledgeable, accommodating, and went above and beyond (especially when finding out it was my birthday). The locations we visited - both inclusive and optional - were breathtaking. The pace of the tour was wonderful: read more no early starts, and plenty of time in each of the places we visited. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone considering it.
Global Journeys service and experience was excellent. We both really enjoyed the Britain and Ireland Panorama tour, the standard of accommodation was very good, the coach had plenty of leg room and was spotless and in great condition every day. The tour itself covered about 5000 km over the 16 days, plenty of time is spent on the coach but is well balanced read more between spending time seeing the sites throughout the tour. We did not take up all the optional excursions, especially the evening meals which gave us time to have a look around ourselves throughout the tour. Overall great value for money and would recommend this tour.
I had a great time in Switzerland. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and the coach driver experienced. The optional extras were a little expensive, but I enjoyed those I did. The accommodation was fantastic, from the charming old world hotels to the new chain hotels. Overall a very enjoyable holiday. Thanks Hannah and Global Journeys for read more helping me with my travel arrangements.
The accommodation offered on this tour was exceptional except for just one destination. The meals included were adequate except for Be My Guest Dinner - don't know who they think they were kidding! I felt there were more inclusions on the previous Trafalgar 'Imperial Europe' tour we did a couple of years ago. I couldn't see the point in busing from read more Varese to Milan and walking past the beautiful Milan Gothic Cathedral without visiting, but that is one persons' opinion. Perhaps more advantageous if this tour's starting point was Milan instead of wasting much of the first day arriving and then transferring to Varese only to return to Milan the following day for sightseeing and free time! We paid approx. AUD $670 extra for 4 optional tours which I may add we totally enjoyed, however at least 2 of these perhaps should have been included. Just an opinion.
I am in my 50's and travelling alone - I made a lot of new friends and always felt safe and included in all things on the tour - it was so much fun - I encourage more singles to travel with Trafalgar. Special thanks to our tour director, Brendan Bush at Trafalgar and Georgie at Global Journeys for making this trip awesome. Can't wait to start planning read more my next Trafalgar experience.
Some great memories and some new friends as well

Grand European
Robert & Robyn Brightwell, NSW, Australia, Jun 2015
The Grand European tour was just fantastic. Our itinerary kept you moving, but allowed you to see the real highlights of Europe in a relatively short period. The tour Director, Brendan was outstanding, best I have experienced by far, he really couldn't do enough for you to make the tour a great experience for all. The fellow passengers were also just read more great, most around our age and all keen to enjoy themselves. We have already met up with one couple and have a planned get together with about a dozen next month. Some great memories and some new friends as well. Thanks to Trafalgar and Global Journeys!

Classic China

The whole China and HK experience was amazing. First, our Tour Guide, Hubert was very professional, very well organized, never were there any hiccups, delays etc. Always been informed about next day program, when in the coach. He always tell us many things about each country we were in, it's culture and tradition. China Mainland was also an amazing read more place. Guilin and it's surroundings - astonishing, even the weather couldn't ruin it! Hotel Bravo was much better than Novotel in Hong Kong / no wardrobe, very small room for 2 people, no desk. In Bravo it was all that we were used to. All places we've seen will be always in our memory. Thank you. (Ed: Review based on slightly different itinerary. Trip name and itinerary updated this season)
We had the best tour director and driver. They went out of their way to make us welcome, and also to make sure we had the best time. The number of people on the bus is a bit overwhelming. 51. Fortunately, Matt had loads of experience in makeing sure we all had the front of the bus at least once and that we kept to the time tables so we didn't lose read more too much time . This was important as this is not a leisurly trip by any means. If you want a slow gentle trip then try a less ambitious itinerary, and or a longer trip time. Having said that, we had free time in York, Edinburgh (almost 5 hours), Grasmere in Lakes District, Statford on Avon, Killarney (I think, somewhere between Dublin and Waterford), Belfast, Dublin (again up to 4 hours or more), and Bath, and at nights if we wished, as the day light stayed until 9pm at least. Mind you, I was pretty exhausted by all the things we did each day so no night life for me. I don't usually do guided tours, but combined with a lot of other free travelling, Trafalgar really fitted into what we wanted to accomplish and gave us more than we would be able to do alone.
Saw much more than we ever could have on our own

Real Britain
Linda & Noel Hopkins, NSW, Australia, Jun 2015
We saw so much more than we ever could have driving ourselves. We had a relatively small group on the bus of 27 and this made it so much more enjoyable and personal. Trafalgar run a good tour and had excellent time management. Wonderful itinerary and we were blessed with sunny skies every day so very lucky there. For my husband and I 6 days, 5 nights read more was just the right length for a coach trip. Accommodation was comfortable, included meals and breakfasts very good and included sightseeing excellent.
The best way for us to see as much of the UK and Ireland as possible. After doing 6 days of self drive and trying to find parking in many small English towns we appreciate the convenience of being dropped off then picked up later. Also we know that we saw and gained a lot more information about places and general information than we did whilst self read more driving. Both the tour guide and driver were excellent. Eddie (tour guide) was phenomenal with his knowledge and passion. He always had an anecdote or factual info to share with the group. Slawek our driver was amazing. His expertise ensured all felt comfortable and safe, even when driving down tiny country lanes and having to negotiate past other traffic. His parking and reversing skills showed perfect precision. A wonderful holiday shared with a fantastic group of fellow travellers. Thanks Georgie for all your help, we probably didn't utilize you as much as we could have but if we are lucky enough to travel in the future will remember you and Global Journeys and get in touch. Plenty of photos and memories.
Overall a value for money tour. Saw many sights which not be possible if we were to do it on our own. Tour pace was just nice. Plenty of leisure time for shopping or resting in the hotel. Hotels were of a good quality except for the one in Salzburg which is on the highway. Food included was not the best but what can one expect for the price paid. read more I would recommend this tour if you want to take in as many sights as possible within a limited period of time. Prague is absolutely amazing and a few more days would be perfect. Will take a Trafalgar tour again without any hesitation.
We had a great time on our tour with Trafalgar. Our coach driver Tim was amazing keeping us entertained and he is the best coach driver I have ever seen. Nathan our tour director did a fantastic job as well. The Canadian Rockies are incredible. We would recommend Trafalgar tours to anyone. This was my second tour with Trafalgar and now we are planning read more a third. Hannah was brilliant to deal with from Global Journeys and will definitely be booking through Global Journeys again.
