Our tour guide Chris was a very knowledgeable historian which added such value to the trip. I loved the whole trip, although it was probably a bit faster paced and full on than I had imagined. Our tour guide went the extra mile to make the tour wonderful, buying local treats for us in different cities, and bending over backwards to resolve people's read more issues. We saw so many wonderful places. I have been on other tours with other companies, and generally accommodation and included food was better on this tour. Hotels were also located more centrally which made it easy to go and do your own thing when time allowed. We did most of the optional tours, and while a bit pricey at times, really added positively to the overall experience and I am really glad I did them. At times you felt a bit rushed and I would have loved to linger in some places, but the tour definitely gave the taste of Italy and made me want to go back for more at some other stage.

We thoroughly recommend Trafalgar's Great European tour. It was a once in a lifetime trip that exceeded all our expectations. Our tour director Peter and driver Michele did an excellent job to ensure everything was well planned and executed ensuring everyone had the greatest experiences. Every night we would sit back and think what an amazing day. read more We can't wait for our next trip.
Thoroughly enjoyed this coach tour of Britain. Trafalgar was excellent. Our tour guide and coach driver where also excellent and safe. Global Journeys did a fantastic job at organising. Absolutely no dramas!

Northern Italy including Cinque Terre

Covered lots of ground in a short time... Quick paced !!!! Included all that the various places offered and were known for and then some. Certainly the Welcome Dinner was a surprise with all the food and grog that was laid on. Parma tastings were such fun and the local tour guides were excellent.. but could not go past our most helpful, thoughtful read more and informed Trafalgar Guide who was originally from South Australia !! How good was that ?? Her knowledge on all was more than through and she did not dwell on excess history, but more of what we were all interested in... Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta are not to be missed. Islands close enough to enjoy and see all at leisure and Lake Orta very unspoiled. Everyone should make time to see the Cinque Terra a bucket list MUST!! A broad group of travellers from all over who all mixed so very well making a perfect week's holiday!! Georgie's help prior to leaving was most helpful and I do thank her for her time and efforts. Altogether a pleasant experience and to continue for weeks after the tour in Northern Italy during Expo was a joy.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 27 day tour. We found our Tour Director, Deborah Wiggin, to be very professional. Her knowledge of all countries we visited was extensive. She was very caring, friendly and attentive to each one's needs. We mustn't forget our driver, Domenico, who was so patient and friendly at all times. We would very confidently travel read more with Trafalgar Tours again, and in particular, with Deborah and Domenico as our Tour Director and Driver. Well done Deborah and Domenico and well done to Trafalgar!
I enjoyed my holiday very much and I thought Vince O'Donovan was a great tour leader and Mario a great driver. I appreciated everything they did very much and found them professional, courteous, friendly and helpful. I also appreciated Global Journeys handling of the organisation of my tour.

An amazing holiday with a great tour group. Our Tour Director, Alain, had a thorough knowledge of the history and what to see and do in every place we visited. Our bus driver, Guiseppe, was exceptional. Our hotels were very comfortable, clean and close to restaurants and shops. As for the tour, even though it was hectic and fast paced, I certainly read more had a wonderful time. I was quite astounded at what we saw and were involved in. Our days were very busy and jam packed. I definitely finished this tour with a big smile and a thirst for more travel. A big thank-you to Georgie Walpole for arranging all my travel details faultlessly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour or Georgie.

Tastes and Sounds of the South

This was our first coach tour and we really enjoyed it. We chose an At Leisure tour pace as we wanted to have time to experience the places we visited and to have time to enjoy the included and optional activities. We were very glad that we chose this tour as we were able to relax and let the tour guide organise all the details which we usually do ourselves read more when travelling. Our tour guide, Gary, was a local and very knowledgeable about the area, but didn't overwhelm us with detail. Really though the highlight was the group of people we met and made friends with. We would like to go on another tour with Trafalgar.
We both really enjoyed the relaxed pace the tour had, it gave plenty of time to see the sites, take photos and actually appreciate the surroundings, rather than just flashing past in the coach. Some of the hotels were a little tired and in need of refurbishment. Our hotel in Olympia had one working power point, the other was hanging out of the wall read more by the wires and one light fixture that was hanging from the ceiling at head height. Most rooms only had two single beds and sometimes they were pushed together, but very rarely was it a double or queen size that we had asked for at the time we booked and when you are 190cm, a single bed is a little cramped. Due to their much more relaxed smoking laws, in some of the rooms it was very obvious they had been used by smokers and for non smokers like us, they were pretty foul. The location of some of the hotels was a bit far from town on occasion, which made it difficult to find somewhere to eat or drink other than the hotel restaurant and bar. Overall the tour was great, our guide was a walking, talking Google web page, so much information and great personality, she went out of her way on numerous occasions, for the entire tour group and made it a truly great time.
This tour was, by far, one of the best we have ever done! Our guide, Sandra, was a wealth of information and delivered her knowledge quite passionately. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone with even the smallest interest in Greece and it's ancient history.
Our Tour Director - Debra - had 27 yrs experience, so had vast knowledge about all the countries we visited. Everything was organised for us, beautiful accommodation, great optional tours - well worth doing. Plenty of free time to go shopping or exploring. Made many new friends from all over the world. Fantastic!
As this was the largest group we had ever travelled with, we found the seating was a bit cramped, especially if the passenger in front reclined their seat. (Obviously seats had been removed on our previous tours.) We did all the optional extras, so the pace was full on - but all good. Our accommodation was really good, even had an executive suite one read more night! The 'Discover Tapas and Old Seville at Night' was the biggest disappointment. The meal was nothing like we were expecting and certainly not worth the money. Most of us felt this way. The number of extra 'local expert' tour guides we had was rather excessive. Also the additional Moroccan guide we had to have was unexpected. This added extra costs which our fellow travellers were also unhappy about. FYI - the taxi fare from our last hotel in Madrid to the airport is a fixed price of 30 Euros. This might be handy for your future clients. Rafael Moreno, our tour guide - we cannot speak highly enough of his expertise and attention to detail. His assistance to those who needed some extra personal attention was first rate. Nothing was ever too much trouble and he did it all with a very pleasant manner. Overall it was a great trip!!!
Overall content was quite good. The coach did not provide much leg room when compared to other coaches that we saw. Some of the optional excursions should have been part of the base tour (particularly) Portugal's Coastline. Others places were actually passed along the way but became an optional experience. The feedback to us regarding the optional experience read more 'evening meals' (except one) was that they were not good value and not enjoyed. We did not feel that the 'Area Specialist' (in Morocco) and 'Local Specialists' were good value. We felt that the Tour Director had sufficient knowledge to fulfill these roles in most areas.

Highlights of Turkey

The positives were of course Turkey, the coach was comfortable, clean, modern, the staff Tour Guide, Driver, and Butler were excellent, faultless in their service. Hotels were mixed in their quality of accommodation. The negatives were a couple of the hotels and the lively pace did have most of the tourists and staff, pretty tired by the end.
This was my first guided tour and it exceeded my expectations. Firstly, booking through Global Journeys was extremely easy, and Georgie answered any questions I had promptly. The itinerary was exactly what I was looking for. This was then enhanced by an excellent tour director, Ben, and very competent coach driver, Wali. Ben had great communication read more and people skills, and excellent knowledge of all places we visited. The highlights for me were Washington DC, Niagara Falls, Ottawa and Quebec City, as well as New York, which I was already familiar with.Our group was large, but friendly and considerate of others, and all tour members felt very included, so it was socially very enjoyable. Much fun was had during the tour's included dinners. Based on my experience I would highly recommend this Trafalgar tour, and would not hesitate to recommend and use Global Journeys in the future. Our tour guide was particularly efficient and sensitive to individual needs. When we claimed that a particular option was poor value for money she negotiated a discount.
The pre-tour service provided by Emily Cran and Global Journeys was fantastic and despite doing everything over the internet/email, we could not have asked for better support and service. The Trafalgar Tour was outstanding with both our Tour Director (Julie Hanham) and Drive (Paolo) making our first trip to Europe a holiday of a lifetime that we will read more always remember. I can highly recommend Trafalgar 'Family Experience' tours and we will be back.

Time in Athens was too short. Quality of accommodation varied. Location of Athens hotel is good. Guide and driver were excellent. Pace was wearying for older members of tour ie the majority!
Wonderfully planned tour taking in as much of a country as one possibly could with all the hidden treasures. Giovanna was exceptionally professional & caring. She came around in the coach several times checking everyone was OK & comfortable.
