A good overview of main European attractions. If you chose all optional activities, then the pace was very demanding, particularly where your new friends wanted to have drinks after dinner! A 'taster' tour, which could be used to select more specialised/leisurely options for later tours. The guide was very good. Hotels and coach were good, with the read more only occasional issue being the slow delivery of bags to our rooms (particularly in Italy). Recommended if you want a fast-paced tour.
Tour was awesome, the sights breathtaking 1Irish Highlights (Winter)Kellie Kuhl, QLD, Australia, Jan 2015
The tour itself was amazing, Bernard our tour guide was really informative and had the best sense of humour. I did all of the optional extras but with some ie: dinner with dancing, myself and quite a few of us were thinking it was going to be traditional river dancing as it was the most expensive optional extra. It was a little disappointing to arrive read more and have two young girls dance for maybe 10 minutes. Overall and apart from that, the tour was awesome, the sights breathtaking and price for the tour was reasonable.
Overall very enjoyable trip. The tour director is very knowledgeable. Eastern Europe is beautiful and we have been lucky with the weather.
Definitely recommending this tour 3Best of TurkeyJuli M, NSW, Australia, Dec 2014
It was incredible seeing Turkey - even in Winter! The tour days were filled morning to night - reasonable travel times between cities - with plenty of good, included sight-seeing during travel. Our tour guide - Alan - was an archaeologist with excellent insight into the ruins and histories of the places visited. All in all, the best tour we have ever read more enjoyed! However, we could have missed the time 'touring' the 'shopping' places - leather, jewelry, carpets etc as, although the information given may have been good - the products were pricey and not really of interest to most of us - particularly with high-pressure sales people following one around. Would have preferred that time in the afternoons in each city to be able to explore a bit (as there was very little time for that most days) on our own. With the exception of one hotel, accommodation was excellent. We are definitely recommending this tour to others interested in exceptional value and a thoroughly enjoyable tour.
Best trip so far, whole family were entertained including children, local travel advisers were exceptional, especially Gianmarco. Some families in our tour have already travelled with Trafalgar 4 times. Will definitely travel Trafalgar again.
Very good but the group was too large 2Best of Italy (Winter)Inessa Kabaker, VIC, Australia, Dec 2014
The tour itself was very good but the group was too large (50 People). The tour guide was excellent but some of the places were not great for winter time. We needed more time in Florence (at least another day) and would have loved one night in Verona, only 2 hours. No need to sleep in Assisi, few hours would have been sufficient as we got their too read more late and didn't see enough and left early the next morning. The hotel in Sorrento was too old and not great location. The dinner there was terrible.
Very interesting, lots of information and a fun group! 2Best of Italy (Winter)Inessa & Gdalia , VIC, Australia, Dec 2014
We loved that our tour director spontaneously took us over the boarder from Lake Como to Switzerland. Not a part of the tour but was a great experience. The tours were generally very interesting but some did feel a little rushed. Need more time in Florence, would love to have another full day on our own to explore.
Happy we arrived into Rome two read more days earlier to just walk around, the tour didn't give enough time in Rome.
The accommodation was very good, except in Rome (too far from centre) and Florence also a bit far. Otherwise a great trip.
We had an amazing time! The tour operator was awesome! We liked the whole atmosphere and pace of the tour (even with 2 kids)! The inclusions were very good, but the time spend at some markets was not enough. One or two hours in a Christmas market is extremely small. Also, the local tour guide that we had in Berlin, even though she had the knowledge, read more it was very difficult to understand. The disappointment was with the optional tour of Potsdam, where we thought that we are going to see 'the palace', but we were taken to a hunting lodge instead. Value for money is excellent for couples but not good for families.
Excellent tour, the best Tour Director and Coach Driver. We would highly recommend it. We and most of our fellow travelers joined all or most of the optional tours. It was a large additional expense (approx $1,400) and we would prefer some or most to be added to the tour cost when booking.
Wow what a journey 8European WhirlKatrina, Australia, Oct 2014
Well we did not know what to expect as we had never been on this sort of trip before but we heard great things about Trafalgar and they certainly did not disappoint. Wow what a journey. The tour was arranged without a hitch by Yvonne Brooks and when we needed an extra day at the end she organised this for us too. The tour guide Director Brendon Bush read more was OUTSTANDING . He was meticulous with his organisation, he went out of his way so many times for us and he looked after anyone who needed help, including the dietary needs of a Coeliac traveller and those who got sick on the trip. I don't think he slept!! Brendon's history lessons prior to each country, and his little films he had made, enhanced our visit to each country immensely, and our coach driver Rudi was totally the best driver in the whole world. He is a walking talking GPS and drove with such skill we were in awe. The hotels and the meals were fantastic - the Hilton in Vienna with the view of the Danube was wonderful and the old Palace we stayed in at Lucerne was breathtaking. If we had arranged these hotels and paid individually the cost of this holiday would have doubled. Having never been to most of Europe before, this Interlude trip was full of highlights I had waited my entire life to see. The weather we had in October also was very mild and gorgeous - we even arranged for the snow to fall for the first time in the season on the day we arrived in Switzerland. They had blizzards after we left. And the sun shone in Rome for us , it was 32 degrees, and then 2 days after we departed they had floods. We were so very blessed. I am so glad we did the optional extras too (all of them!!) even though this added another $3,000 to our holiday costs, they transformed a great holiday experience to a magical one. We highly recommend Trafalgar tours. We never had to queue up for anything at all, we felt like royalty!
Covered all the National Parks I wanted and much more 7Scenic Parks ExplorerBrad, Australia, Oct 2014
The tour was fantastic, it covered all the National Parks I wanted to see and so much more. For me, Trafalgar offer the best level of comfort and activity, and all the included hotels on this trip were just fantastic. Don our tour guide on this trip was the best guide I've ever had on a tour, he was so experienced and new exactly how to get the most read more out of the itinerary. Little things like sending our bags ahead of us to our hotel so they were ready in our rooms on arrival on most nights were really helpful. The included meals and optional extras were all great. I will have so many great memories and photos from this trip, and so many places I know I will want to go back to in the future. Yellowstone for me was the ultimate highlight, so many different sights and experiences in those couple of days. Seeing sunrise over the grand canyon was also a once in a lifetime type experience. The pace of the tour is fast, but it is well worth it to see as much as you do in the 2 weeks. Being able to do the same by yourself in a hire car would be almost impossible. I can definitely recommend this trip, it is one of the best I have done!
I had a great time. The standard of accommodation and meals was excellent and the tour guide helpful and informative. I would have liked a bit more time in Washington as there was so much to see. As far as booking with Global Journeys, I would definitely book through you again. The whole process was very easy and we got a great deal on the tour cost. read more It was much simpler than having to go back and forward to see a travel agent in person.
We have never seen such scenic splendor 3Peter & Susan Maher, Australia, Sep 2014
We have never seen such scenic splendor. The tour was extremely comprehensive and enabled us to experience a range of panoramic locations and exciting cities. Thoroughly recommend both the tour and Global Journeys professionalism.
Would recommend this trip to anyone but you need to be fit 1Switzerland and AustriaAnne Jones, Australia, Sep 2014
The scenery was superb, tour guide was excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. Our coach driver was exceptional, would recommend this trip to anyone but you need to be fit. Coach was very comfortable but would have liked to spend more time in places.
Trafalgar tour director and coach driver were very professional and well versed in their trade ensuring that our tour ran like clockwork. Destinations visited were all thoroughly enjoyed and as always there were some we wished we had more time in e.g Oxford, Liverpool and Dublin. A good mix of free time and organised activities ensured time ticked by read more quickly despite some long days on the coach. Overall an enjoyable tour which is recommended for those who like hassle free touring and organised activities. The overall enjoyment of the total package was made significantly enhanced by the competent friendly and professional service provided to us by our tour consultant Michelle White from Global Journeys. Thanks again Michelle.
We had a wonderful time 1Wonderful FrancePeng, Australia, Sep 2014
We had a wonderful time; our tour guides were very knowledgeable and helpful. Our driver was excellent, always helpful and polite. As for the tour, we felt that some of the optional excursions should be included into the package. We had to fork out an additional 500 Euros for both of us to join the optional excursions. We really felt that the night read more cruise on the river Seine should be part of the package as well as the tour of Versailles palace. Hotels were mostly modern and clean which was much appreciated. However breakfast at Renaissance Hotel in Paris was not up to par considering it is rated 4*. Croissants offered didn't taste fresh, no choice of bread just some cut up baguette. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and made some good friends with our fellow travellers.
Fantastic tour director 1Best of SpainAlfred & Elaine, Australia, Sep 2014
Good points: Fantastic tour director, great knowledge and passion for her country, great sense of humour and organisational ability under stress. Excellent accommodation, tour excursions etc. Not so good points: Too much time allocated for 'shopping', most of the tour members were older folk who like us did not really appreciate this. First driver read more while obviously skilled in low speed situations had an annoying habit of 'sawing' at the steering on the highway. Conclusion: This tour is a better proposition for younger/more mobile folk than older less mobile clients.
Too many highlights to narrow my comments down to a few words. The whole tour was excellent from start to finish. Our Consultant, Yvonne Brooks, was very efficient and did a great job. The tour director and coach driver were both absolutely excellent and extremely knowledgeable. I don't have any negative comments that I could make. I am very happy read more to have done this tour, with the help and organisation of Global Journeys.
We got an insight into the Italian way of life 1Tony & Henny, Australia, Sep 2014
This trip was not just a tour, it was an Italian cultural experience based on food. Thanks to our tour director, Alberto, we got an insight into the Italian way of life. The Regional Meals and Be My Guest Experience top our unforgettable moments.
Overall experience was exceptional 1Michael & Ingrid Ware, Australia, Sep 2014
We had a very good time, the accommodation, dinning and overall experience was exceptional.
