Our tour guide (David) and coach driver (Kimo) were a great combination of information, humour and often went out of their ways to make sure our holiday was an experience to remember. The whole 14 days we were taken to quality locations, saw numerous wildlife and exceptional landscapes. The accommodation was in general more than we expected. David knew read more his history and presented it in a really informative way. The dvd's that David incorporated during the longer stretches of driving were all relevant and interesting. The one stop that we felt was out of place in a National Park tour was the night in Denver. But we appreciate that it was in the middle of where we needed to be and probably many of our fellow travellers enjoyed the change of pace. It was just not our pace. But all in all we would thoroughly recommend this particular tour. As Australians, we learnt so much about America and its history. We would happily travel with Trafalgar again.
The tour guide, Kimiko, was lovely and extremely helpful. She was always completely dedicated to ensuring that we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. There was nothing she wouldn't do to optimise our experience, and you could tell she really loves her job. She is easily the best tour guide I have ever travelled with! The included meals were authentic, read more tasty and of a very high quality. The hotels were very centrally located, being literally connected to or next to multilevel shopping centres, convenience stores, restaurants and public transport - this is in stark contrast to some of the hotels utilised for the European tours with Trafalgar. The Fukuchiin Monastery Inn stay was a genuinely unique experience that I will never forget. There was a good balance of included experiences and free time. Overall this was a very well organised itinerary with several unforgettable experiences and an amazing tour guide that are collectively worth the cost of the tour.
From the point of booking with Global Journeys and their excellent support and fast replies to questions we asked. (thanks Georgie Walpole) our first overseas trip was a wonderful experience. Our 8 day tour of Britain and Ireland was excellent. Trafalgar Tours great value for money. Comfortable coach, excellent driver with amazing skills. Excellent read more commentary from expert Tour director and the inclusion of local tour directors was also brilliant. Optional extras were great value for money (if you chose to do these). Not having to worry about luggage handling, chosen hotel accommodation was excellent in our opinion. Each day an itinerary was posted and discussed so everyone was aware of time of events planned. We now planning our next experience with Global Journeys.
Very pleasurable experience

This tour was much better than the London to Rome trip. Much better paced, less crowds and much better value. The tour guide Gaspar was very good, and he did not pressure the passengers to take the optional experiences. Overall a very pleasurable experience
Great Trafalgar trip

Great trip. Tour director Roderick was brilliant and went out of his way to make things spot on for us. Would highly recommend Trafalgar and also big thanks to Yvonne Brooks from Global Journeys for setting our the two trips we booked into motion. (Ed: Review based on slightly different itinerary. Trip name and itinerary updated this season)
Calgary Stampede exceeded all our expectations 1
Pauline & Edward, QLD, Australia, Jul 2015
Our Trafalgar tour guide, Jess, and coach driver, Gil, were the best - went 'above and beyond' every day! Very jam-packed tour! Calgary Stampede was very exciting - exceeded all our expectations; Vancouver, Banff and Whistler were most enjoyable; Kamloops and Jasper are a little 'tired'; Sun Peaks would be at its best in the ski season; Victoria on read more Vancouver island was interesting but very touristy. Certainly would love to go back to see more of Canada and would use Trafalgar again.
Great Trip

Our trip had been arranged by Hannah Campbell as before, everything went of with out a hitch and the people on our tour were first class. Our tour guide Patrick was only to happy to help with anything that came up.
Being our third Trafalgar tour this one did not disappoint. It is a highly recommended tour to experience the highlights of the regions and select areas that one would like to explore further. Thank you Trafalgar and Hannah. :)

We had the best time - just loved it. Thank you Hannah for your great effort in organising and implementing details for our trip, it was greatly appreciated as all just flowed without a hitch. A huge thank you for a super job. Trafalgar do a great job of organising and assisting in all areas and we were so blessed to have had the best tour operator read more - Martin - he was a wealth of information and so attentive to everyone's needs - he just went above and beyond our expectations. Once again many thanks for your part - you truly are a great travel consultant who also gives 100% to their customers making things seem so effortless for us - just pack our bag and we are away as everything else has been taken care of. I wish you well and we most certainly will ask for your assistance with any further ventures we may engage in.

I booked the tour as a special anniversary - it was a year ago my husband passed away. I wanted to be in a special place for the anniversary. The timing of being in the highlands at the exact time with a small drink in my hand to toast the day couldn't of be planned any better if I tried. The whole trip was amazing, yes, a lot to do in such a small read more amount of time but I saw and did some fabulous things. The added extras also well worth the money and added to the whole trip. We were also lucky we had a great bunch of travellers that all got on and happy to mix. Our tour Guide and driver were amazing, nothing too much trouble, always presented well, neat well dressed pair that took great pride in the coach too. Compared to some of other company's - well done on the whole experience. I would not hesitate to book with you again. Thank you for making my special time...special.
The experience was simply wonderful

Our trip was excellent. As it was the first time for an assisted trip we were a little apprehensive. The experience was simply wonderful and we met some really lovely fellow passengers. Our tour guide was a breath of fresh air with fantastic local knowledge and lots of fun. Also the optional excursion guides were very knowledgeable. The majority of read more hotels were great, several were outstanding, one not so good but we were very impressed with overall standards. Yes ,we will look forward to the next holiday. Thank you for your assistance.
Really happy with tour and with the people we met

Tour included meal at Yellowstone was poor. Would have liked option to visit animal park near Rapid City (bears & wolves etc) only had a brief look as we drove past on highway. Really happy with tour and with the people we met on tour and in the towns we visited made for an enjoyable time.
The knowledge of tour guide is excellent. The coach driver did fantastic job. The hidden treasure is something extra to surprise us. The tour is very joyful. Emily Cran looked after our booking and everything went smoothly. We really appreciate her professional work. Definitely we will travel with Trafalgar through Global Journeys again.
Visited a lot of wonderful places

Italy Bellissimo
Dianne Walsh, VIC, Australia, Jun 2015
I enjoyed all of my Italian tour. The tour director was very, very good, with lots of knowledge and information. The only hiccup was my paid hotel transfer wasn't waiting in the arrivals hall when I arrived. The baggage took a time to be delivered to the carrousel, and so disappointed no one to meet me on arrival. I called the number and he came to read more get me after 10 minutes. He then to my case and I had to follow for quite a distance until he told me to sit and wait at an airport cafe, until his boss got off the phone to take me to the car. I waited there about 15 minutes until his boss was ready and he then took me to a waiting car. Not very impressed with this extra waiting time! This was my only upset for the entire holiday. We visited a lot of wonderful places and I enjoyed the experience.
The tour was good, unhappy with bedding arrangements

The tour was good. As I was traveling with a friend we requested twin beds but in many hotels we got either double or queen beds. Therefore we were not happy with the bedding arrangements. Also Trafalgar did not have any of our personal details such as passport info, emergency contacts etc. Even though we have given them to Global Journeys. (Ed. Tut read more tut, we will let them know, we don't want to ask you for them and then them not use them!)

This trip was absolutely magical. From first contact with Global Journeys to the flight home. First class on-tour guide who kept us informed of our surroundings and the history that went with it. Flawless baggage service at accommodations and exceptional dining and entertainment choices. A trip that will stay with me as the standard to match for all future travel.
We really got a feel for the cities we visited 6
Alison, WA, Australia, Jun 2015
Really wonderful tour, the Tour guide (Lara) and Driver (Janos) were both incredible and turned a really good trip into a fantastic one. We had at least 2 nights in each hotel so it wasn't as rushed as some tours are. We really got a feel for the cities we visited. The hotels were all very nice, and most were walking distance to the town centre, but read more not all of them (Sheraton and Hilton) had free wifi in the rooms. The coach had wifi (But it could be dodgy on the road with all the mountains) The meals were lovely, and the activities were fun. Highlights were the visit to the Eagles Nest, Neuschwanstein, and the dinner/concert in Vienna.
Our Tour Guide Deby went out of her way to make this a memorable trip. Our coach driver Wali was courteous but not the smoothest of drivers. Washington has lots to offer and was an early highlight of the tour. Staying in Lancaster County among the Amish was a good experience and the hotel we stayed in was one of the best on the trip, as was the dinner read more that night. Niagara Falls was amazing and we were glad that we had 2 nights there (one night was 1 July which happens to be Canada's Independence Day and we saw a fantastic fireworks display above the falls!). The optional dinner at a nearby winery was fantastic and well worth including. Ottowa and Quebec were the highlights of the Canadian part of the trip for us, particularly Quebec with its cobblestone streets in the old town and the historic buildings. The Civilisation Museum is well worth a visit. Boston was great. Lots to see and do along with some interesting local seafood dishes.
Our overall impression of this tour was that it was over-organised leaving little free time to explore for yourself. Great if you like having everything organised for you, but this wasn't the style of holiday that we were looking for. We were expecting really top accommodation as we paid nearly twice as much to travel with Trafalgar as we would have if we had gone with Cosmos. The accommodation was only a bit better standard than what we experienced with Cosmos tours. The included meals were only average quality in our opinion (apart from the meal at the winery close to Niagara Falls). Generally we had to be on the coach at 5.30pm to go to the included dinners and we were back at the hotel generally by 9pm. They were not good value for money in our opinion. We would have been happier finding our own places to have dinner at.
Fabulous trip - tiring but very enjoyable. The only criticism: the 'Badlands' optional should have been included as it was definitely in a Scenic /National Park. We were in Rapid City for 2 days (with not much else to do) and this excursion should have been included. An extra $US40 each was charged - nothing else to do in Rapid City, so we paid. Our read more tour guide, Stephen McNally was very competent and courteous.
Overall the tour was well worth it despite difficult terrain in some Cornish villages. The Tour Director (Maria) was quite entertaining with sometimes hilarious historical stories which may or may not be true. Coach was spacious as there were only 20 on the tour and everyone was friendly. We needed to keep a brisk pace getting up and down some of the read more cobbled narrow streets and we could have done with more explanation about this aspect prior to the tour. We were, however, given the impression that this wouldn't be a problem for any of us. Wasn't always the case, but we all managed it. If anything, I would suggest that the corrugated mattress I had on the first night in Bideford be swapped in favour of a better hotel. The other hotels at Plymouth and Bristol were good. I would recommend this tour because of the beautiful scenery and interesting historical background to many of the places visited.
