Good tour to get a taste of many UK highlights 2 Britain and Ireland Panorama , VIC, Australia, Apr 2016
This Trafalgar tour covered many of the highlights of the UK. Beautiful scenery, knowledgeable guide and excellent coach drivers made this a great way to get a taste of many of the highlights of England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales.
Could not be happier with Trafalgar 3 , NSW, Australia, Apr 2016
We returned for our trip yesterday and we could not be happier with Trafalgar and the professional and friendly service provided. Both our travel director (Deborah Wiggins) and our coach driver (Guiseppe) were fantastic and we met lovely people on our tour - as well as seeing some amazing places! Thanks again Yvonne for all your help with the organisation read more and planning of this memorable trip - much appreciated.
Excellent way to travel through Europe 1 Grand European , VIC, Australia, Apr 2016
The trip was so good that we don't think we would ever be able to do so much by ourselves. We particularly like the route Trafalgar chose, which covers lots of interesting areas within limited days. The organisation was excellent, starting from the booking with Yvonne at Global Journeys to everyday sightseeing with Linda at Trafalgar. We will be back for sure.
Interesting holiday 6 , VIC, Australia, Apr 2016
The tour was very well organized and the tour manager was very knowledgeable and friendly. The seats on the coach were labelled with our names as we rotate every day, which made it easier. We had 52 people on the coach and in the US there is only one door, so it took quite a while to get every one on and off. (In Europe we had a coach with 2 doors) read more Trafalgar had little extra touches eg, snacks and local food on the bus, hidden treasures, etc. - they were nice personal touches. A number of activities were also included, we had 2 jeep rides inside the parks, talks by a local geologist and a park ranger. They kept the number of optional activities to a minimum, which is nice. The hotels were very roomy and comfortable and located close to the attractions. In the national parks all but one hotel was located within the park itself which enable us to see more of the park on our own. To our surprise it was snowing at Grand Canyon and Bryce Canyon. We have really enjoyed the trip.
Trafalgar had it all organised   2 Hawaiian Discovery (First Class) , NSW, Australia, Apr 2016
This was a wonderful holiday and Trafalgar had it all organised. We were treated to many different experiences but still had plenty of free time to follow our own pursuits. Our tour guide was efficient without being officious and the itinerary covered all and more of the sights we were planning to see if we had travelled on our own. The accommodation read more was excellent and the meals that were included in the trip were very satisfying. Highlight for us was the trip to Haleakala and the lunch at the O'o farm afterwards. These were included in the cost of the tour. An extra indulgence was the helicopter flight over Mauna Kea and the spectacular coastline on the east coast of Hawaii. We would highly recommend this trip.
More than just Pearl Harbour and beaches 1 Hawaiian Discovery (First Class) , Australia, Apr 2016
We enjoyed our tour of Hawaii very much. We were on an 11 day tour which Trafalgar combined with a 7 day tour and a 14 day tour to make a group of 45 people. Although the Tour Director did a great job, with so many people it was hard to get a holiday vibe happening. The coach we travelled in was a 50+ seater so despite the number of people there was read more always plenty of room. For the last few days we were down to 27 people and that was much more relaxed and friendly. The group was made up of 6 Australians, 1 Kiwi, 1 Spaniard, 2 Canadians and 35 Americans.

As we visited 4 islands and US airport checks are tedious and sometimes slow, there was quite a bit of downtime at airports. All the islands were different so I don't know which one I would leave out to reduce the airport time. The Tour Director managed the luggage and boarding passes very smoothly and made sure we were there in plenty of time but the food at these airports was very expensive and poor quality and even at Honolulu Airport the shopping was very limited. Recommend that you have a day or two in Honolulu before the tour starts. We all felt jet lagged for the first 24 hours. At the end of the tour we hired a car and rented a house at Hanalei on Kauai. This was a most beautiful place and a great way to relax before heading home. Thanks to Yvonne who managed our booking, answered questions promptly and provided extra information when requested.
Do your self a favour 3 European Whirl , Australia, Apr 2016
My wife and I were a little apprehensive about taking a coach tour as we do like the flexibility that a self guided holiday allows. This view has changed after experiencing what Trafalgar has to offer. A well organised tour with a very experienced tour guide to make your holiday stress free and very informative. Whilst self run holidays allow you the read more flexibility, you miss all the commentary about different countries history and cultures. Although we were disappointed that the European Interlude was cancelled due to numbers, the Whirl gave us what we were after. The youngest on the coach was 13 yrs and the oldest 73 yrs with most in their 40's. You are allowed to bonds as a group very quickly and thus plenty of long lasting friendships are made. These tours are fast paced and you need to be aware that to do everything on offer it will cost more, however you get the benefit of priority tickets and organised travel everywhere you go.
Fantastic hassle free tour   5 Britain and Ireland Highlights , NSW, Australia, Apr 2016
Chris was an excellent, experienced and thoughtful tour director - the best I've ever met. I was travelling with an 11-year-old child who often suffers from motion sickness. I requested him to consider the seating plan for the coach, and he cared about us throughout the tour. Thank him and thanks to for our fellow travellers understanding. Everyone read more else's coach seating were rotated to be fair. The tour was very well organized. He always informed us clearly where and when we are having toilet break or meal break. The coach never drive more than two hours which was good for us and good for the driver. Our driver Sid was also very professional. Once he dropped off our luggage at the hotel while we were having dinner, and the room keys were handed out in the coach. We just walked in straight to the room, and our luggage was already there. I imagined if I traveled by myself, check in could take some time after the long days!

Our main purposes for this trip was to learn about the history and culture of Britain and Ireland, and to see the historical buildings such as castles, cathedrals and towns. It covered everything. We wouldn't have learnt much if we traveled without the tour director. He knew a lot and explained it all to us very well. Our local specialists both for included tour and for optional experience were fantastic as well. They were the best entertainers. We did all the optional experiences including dinners with entertainment. They were excellent. I just thought that the selections one the menus were quite similar for some places. You can find local restaurants unless you would like to be with other travellers. Our hotels were located OK for finding restaurants around. Accommodation was good for many places. Just a bit of disappointment for the hotels in Ireland, as they were very old and located off-centre.

Fellow travellers were very friendly. As our meals were included most of the time we had dinner together since day one. This made us getting know each other very well. We were 47 of us; more than half were from USA, others from Canada, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand. They were super prompt as well. No one literally came back late, and I had no bad feeling about people at all. My son missed them so much at the end of the tour. We are definitely coming back to Trafalgar tour. Thank you for the fantastic experience.
A great trip 1 Italy Bellissimo , NSW, Australia, Apr 2016
It was a great trip and we enjoyed everyday during the trip, especially the two nights stay at Capri. it was very relaxing and peaceful. It would be better if we could have stayed at Venice and Florence for extra one or two days. Because of the crowd, the queuing time was longer than we thought during the 'free time' at these two locations. Our tour read more director is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and bus driver is very skillful and helpful. Thanks Trafalgar and Global Journeys provided us a wonderful trip and service.
Fantastic Tour of Switzerland 4 Best of Switzerland , NSW, Australia, Apr 2016
Wonderful tour arranged by Global Journeys for our trip with Trafalgar. Switzerland is a beautiful country with friendly people where you feel safe in very clean surrounds. The tour is diverse and overall there is nothing we would change from what was arranged. We had 3 days in Zurich prior to the tour which was lovely, easy to get about on public transport read more and the old part of the city provided plenty of highlights for the 3 days. Would use Global Journeys for all future organised travel arrangements.
Excellent trip, very professional travel director and driver. 3 Best of Turkey , WA, Australia, Apr 2016
Trafalgar made the trip safe, comfortable and memorable especially in today's political environment. I would certainly travel with Trafalgar again. Most of the hotels were excellent. Some, as to be expected, we're not of the same high standard as The Marriott for example. Travelling through Turkey by road is a great way to experience the country. read more I ave travelled to many countries and Turkey would gave to be one of my top 3 destinations.
Fantastic fun through Europe 1 Grand European , Qld, Australia, Apr 2016
This is my second time on a Trafalgar tour organised by Georgie. Thank you very much for your help. My sisters and myself had the best time on this trip. There was so much variety and heaps of fun. Thank you to Howard our tour director for all you did to make everything run smoothly and being caring and helpful. Thank you also goes to our great driver, read more Marcello. We had such a fun group with heaps of laughs! Weather was quite good, mostly sunshine. My favourite was the Amalfi Coast, a place called Positano in Italy. Monaco was also beautiful. Motels were well situated and clean. Most of our breakfasts and included meals were great. A great way to experience different cultures. Absolutely fantastic 22 days!
Bohemian Highlights (Trafalgar) 4 Bohemian Highlights , NSW , Australia, Apr 2016
Enjoyable trip from day one right till the last day. Comfortable walking pace, cover most of the sightseeing at a given place and good history knowledge. Local guides were excellent. Good breakfast choices and dinners were great too. Hotels are excellent overall, comfort wise and locations. I will definitely join another Trafalgar tour.
Well Organised and Busy Holiday 6 Britain and Ireland Grandeur , NSW, Australia, Apr 2016
Great way to see all of the UK and Ireland in 3 weeks. Really well structured tour with an excellent Tour Director and Driver. Could not have got any better people from Trafalgar. Very little free time if you do the optional extras, but this was expected given the distance and number of activities. Accommodation was better than expected and overall read more the tour was great value for money.
Imperial Europe 1 Imperial Europe (Winter) , NSW, Australia, Apr 2016
Our tour covered a lot of very interesting places within the 10 days. I loved the scenic tour in Salzburg coming down the hill (Berchtesgaden), and Budapest Parliament in the morning without crowds prior to it being opened to the public. We really enjoyed accommodation also particularly in Vienna / Hilton Plaza that was very luxurious. Very organised read more and well-planned holiday! We felt very taken care of.
Cherry blossom time 5 Splendours of Japan with Hiroshima , NSW, Australia, Mar 2016
My wife and I enjoyed this well planned small group tour very much. The tour director was knowledgeable and diligent, the natural landscapes and formal gardens were at their best (timing was ideal for the best of cherry blossom season) and our fellow travellers were good company. Highlights for us were the underbridge viewing of the spectacular Inland read more Sea whirlpools, the lovely Kenruen Gardens in Kanazawa, our perfect Japanese meal at Ryokan Yoshida Sanso in the elegant city of Kyoto and our day trip to the island of Mijajima with its shrine, O'torii gate and deer. The only minor negatives were the quality of the headsets and the resultant occasional difficulty hearing/understanding our tour director, and a poorly planned final day in/getting to Osaka. As always we were happy to be in the safe hands of Yvonne at Global Journeys.
Fabulous tour 3 Splendours of Japan with Hiroshima , NT, Australia, Mar 2016
I enjoyed this tour immensely. I travelled with a great bunch of like minded travellers with a great Tour guide, Yama and reliable coach drivers. I enjoyed the meals included in the tour from the accommodation breakfast, lunches and dinners. Food was always fresh and different. Itinerary and activities were great. Accommodation overall was good and read more centrally located in the cities we visited.
Relaxing trip 5 Splendours of Japan , QLD, Australia, Mar 2016
Overall, it was a good experience. We met some interesting people on the trip. Tour director Coco was amazing. She was extremely patient (even when there was a particularly annoying/ difficult co-passenger). The places we visited had a good mix of temples, castles, art, local activity/cuisine etc. We got tired of the castles towards the end of the trip. read more The cherry blossoms were not in full bloom as expected. The pace of the trip was good. Some of us decided to explore more places outside of the tour times (took local trains, went to Tokyo tower, Shibuya station and Harajuku - not covered in the trip). What was really disappointing was the false information about bullet train journey and another visit to a particular place on day 2. Trafalgar kept the incorrect information in the itinerary for an entire year! There is no point keep misleading information. Most of the meals were catered to, the rest we bought on our own. If you happen to be someone who does not enjoy authentic Japanese food, does not like exploring new foods or plain dislike carbs, I would suggest you pre purchase meals. This is meant to be an overall cultural experience but we had some people on the tour craving western food every day. We were keen to try different foods and tried to soak up the entire experience. Learning basic phrases in Japanese came in very handy.
Spanish Wonder 2 Spanish Wonder , VIC, Australia, Mar 2016
We were only Aussies and had a wonderful time with families and couples from South Africa, Singapore, Philippines, Canada and several states of USA.
