Itinerary

Put a little Irish spring in your step and stroll through the lyrical capital of Dublin – your springboard to an unforgettable jaunt through the treasures of Ireland. Join a Local Specialist this afternoon to explore the city's iconic sights. Walk the cobbled courtyard of Trinity College and visit the Book of Kells. Then, enjoy a friendly dinner to get to know your fellow travellers. (D) Stay: Sandymount

Departing Dublin this morning, journey to the peaceful monastic ruins at Glendalough which survived repeated Viking attacks over the centuries. Dive Into Culture, watching the master crafters of the House of Waterford Crystal as they create delicate works of art. Your final stop today is the 'rebel' city of Cork, where you'll have a free evening to enjoy a little Irish craic and soak up the lively atmosphere of this university city. (B) Stay: Radisson Blu Hotel and Spa, Cork

Embark on a scenic drive to Blarney Castle, where you have the opportunity to kiss its famous stone to acquire the 'gift of the gab'. Continue to Killarney and stop at the beautiful cafe in the gate lodge of Killarney National Park for a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience.  Enjoy a traditional pony and trap ride on an Optional Experience through the beautiful Bourn-Vincent National Park. During this optional journey, your Local Specialist will share fascinating anecdotes about the area and Ireland.

End the day with a Be My Guest experience at Muckross Traditional Farms discovering what Irish rural life was like in the 1930s. (B/D) Stay: Manor West Tralee

Admire the wide skies, peaceful towns and coastal scenery of the Dingle Peninsula as you drive to dramatic Slea Head at the peninsula's far end. (B)

Delve into the era of the first transatlantic flights during a visit to the Flying Boat Museum in Foynes. At one time, it was the refuelling point for Pan Am's Flying Boat, the Yankee Clipper. Picture life as a passenger onboard a replica Boeing 314 as we Dive Into Culture and experience the aircraft first hand. You will walk away knowing how Irish Coffee was invented. Here you can imagine yourself a weary passenger, delayed due to bad weather while you sip your own cup of 'Foynes Original,' used to treat nervous passengers years ago.

This afternoon, travel to the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre. This wonderfully engaging experience brings one of Ireland's most treasured natural phenomena to life. Enjoy the IMAX-type multimedia which gives visitors a bird's eye view of the cliffs or dive virtually beneath the surface of the Atlantic. Continue to your hotel in Limerick where we spend the night, and perhaps join an Optional Experience to enjoy a banquet and medieval entertainment in the great hall of an Irish Castle. (B) Stay: Radisson Blu Hotel and Spa, Limerick

Our epic journey through the treasures of Ireland has come to an end. For now, it's time to wish your fellow travellers slán abhaile as our memorable holiday comes to an end. (B)

Tour of southern Ireland 1 , NSW, Australia, Aug 2018
We rarely take bus tours but we’re very happy we did this one. Our Guide Betty was delightful, considerate, amusing, informative and being a local, gave us a valuable insight into Irish culture. Highly recommended to gain an appreciation of Ireland in a short time.
Enjoyed my holiday, but rather poor coach used 1 , VIC, Australia, Aug 2015
The coach used was rather poor and not as good as the one used in the Best of Britain tour the week earlier. One seat, (I think it was the second from the back, driver's side) had to be kept empty each day as the seat had been anchored too close to the one before and it was not comfortable to sit in. Also, the seats were not on a raised platform as read more the English bus' were, resulting in poorer visibility. The tour guide spoke a lot about subjects she knew about, but we seemed to pass a lot of towns, historical monuments etc, that were never mentioned but probably held a rich history. Our English tour director, Alan Drake, was far better than his Irish counterpart. I am grateful to Global Journeys for the assistance with my booking. I enjoyed the service provided and enjoyed my holiday.
