Tour gave us time in each place without feeling rushed   1 , Australia, Sep 2012
We loved the tour from the moment we joined it. The organisation, the accommodation, the travel provided and especially the fun of the group that we toured with. We were unsure how we would enjoy a tour however we would not hesitate to join one where possible. We especially liked it being a leisurely tour as it gave us time in each place without feeling ...read more rushed or exhausted from travel. Highlight for us in 2012.
This tour is A1   1 , Australia, Sep 2012
For a first timer to Europe this tour is A1. It covers a lot and in style. I am past camping and the luxury old hotels were lovely. Food was plentiful and a taste bud treat. We had 30 people that all got on, and a tour director that knew a lot of interesting things. Cosimo the bus driver did not speak much english, but was very good at his job. I have ...read more a richer mind after doing this tour and I now have some more friends in Australia and America. Thankyou Gobal Journeys.
Hit all the highlights to give you a taste for a bit more   0 , Australia, Aug 2012
It was very good. Hit all the highlights to give you a taste for a bit more. It needs 1 more day to allow for some time in Lucerne and commute to Venice. In general the accommodation was good, a bit poor in Florence where I could barely get into the shower. The bathroom was so small.
Trafalgar has done a very good job   1 , Australia, Aug 2012
I totally enjoyed the Imperial Europe tour. It was a well organised tour. Trafalgar has done a very good job. The tour operator Craig Hill is an Australian and he is very good. He is very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I could not had asked for a better tour guide. The local guides are very good too! Overall the accommodation is very good except ...read more the hotel in Salzburg! It was shocking and basic! None of us were happy with this hotel. It would be perfect if the hotels that we are staying were in the city centre.
Well paced tour with a brilliant guide   2 , Australia, Aug 2012
Well chosen well paced tour with a guide for which the word excellent does not do her justice. All seeing all knowing all organising all problems sorted. (I watched her in action in two languages at once). And she entertained us with stories, poetry and song (on one occasion). Very memorable with time to appreciate all the beautiful places. Only one ...read more sour note which I doubt you can do anything about. We came up against the ludicrous EU driver regulations which annoyed everyone on more than one occasion. (Ed. Definitely value for money   0 , Australia, Aug 2012
All in all it was a fantastic trip with a great tour guide and driver. Based on where we went, where we stayed and what we did it was definitely value for money. The only down side was that we did not have enough time between arriving at our hotel and going to dinner. I wish we had some more personal time each day and not having to finish the night ...read more so early. There was a lot of touring which meant little exercise each day so I at least needed to be a bit more active. In addition I think that the bus seats needed to be a bit more comfortable based on the number of hours spent driving. I wouldn't mind spending a little bit more with a few less people if it meant a more comfortable ride. Having said all this I would still recommend the tour to anyone who asks.
Our cruise was excellent   0 , Australia, Aug 2012
Wonderful experience. Pre-tour advice, planning and organisation faultless thanks to Yvonne. Tour guide Joan was exceptional. Our cruise was excellent.
Enjoyed the whole trip, especially Norway   0 , Australia, Aug 2012
Our Trafalgar tour was very well organised and the accommodation was of a high standard. Enjoyed the whole trip, especially Norway. The only other comment I have is the tour should be a 12 day tour and not 14 days as the first and last days are only airport transfers.
I recommend Global Journeys and Trafalgar   0 , Australia, Aug 2012
The tour guide (Konrad) was very knowledgeable and handled everything in a professional manner. Bus driver was was also excellent. All aspects of the tour were enjoyable and I participated in nearly every optional part of the tour. I had to organise and book my holiday from another country and Georgie provided me with prompt and useful information. ...read more Everything went smoothly and this is a credit to her. I would recommend using Global Journeys and Trafalgar to anyone as I thoroughly enjoyed my holiday and would happily organise my next journey through them.
Well organized with all aspects working smoothly   3 , Australia, Aug 2012
The tour with Trafalgar was excellent. It was very well organized with all aspects working smoothly with no hitches. The tour guide was a true professional with a great personality which was most appropriate for the group. Tour Director and Driver were very professional   0 , Australia, Aug 2012
Our 'Wonders of Britain & Ireland' coach tour was excellent and the Tour Director and Driver were very professional and knowledgeable on the history of the places we visited.
Tour guide made the whole experience totally amazing!   0 , Australia, Aug 2012
My tour guide was so knowledgeable and helpful that it made the whole experience totally amazing! Even the 2 coach drivers we had were utter gentleman and also very knowledgeable. The places we visited were spectacular and anything we wanted to know, the tour guide didn't all he could to help us. I have now been on 2 Trafalgar tours and recommend them ...read more to anyone I know that is looking at travelling. Highlight of my trip for sure!
Fantastic way to see California   1 , Australia, Jul 2012
The tour was a fantastic way to see California and a great combination of having a guided experience and free time to explore our own interests.
The places visited were all excellent   6 , Australia, Jul 2012
The service from Georgie at Global Journeys was first class and your advice to use the fast Thalys train from Brussels to Amsterdam's Schipol airport was exactly right. The tour was quite good; we were aware in advance that Trafalgar is not a top end tour operator so we did not set our expectations too high. The places visited were all excellent; apart ...read more from Amsterdam 42 years ago we had never visited any of them; always nice to visit new places. Ananda the tour director was only average but this did not worry us; she made an over the top call for generous tips! All the hotels were really good, although the one in Luxembourg was undergoing renovations and was some distance from the city. In summary quite a good tour and a suitable itinerary but suggest make your clients aware that it's not top of the range, but the price is reasonable and good value for what we received. There were 43 in the bus versus a capacity of 56 so it did not feel crowded. The comparison between Ananda and the excellent tour director on the preceding Scenic river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam, had made us realise what a high standard director can achieve. Hope this helps.
Magnificent tour with a wonderful guide   0 , Australia, Jul 2012
Yesterday I returned to Australia. The tour Best of Italy was magnificent with a wonderful guide. I also took another Trafalgar tour whilst in UK namely Best of Devon & Cornwall. As you are aware it was mostly wet and humid in the UK with major flooding. Of the 6 weeks away I spent two weeks in London, the first week I was there for the Queens Jubilee ...read more celebrations and I was on one of the boats on the River Thames!
A great way to see a lot of places in a short time   1 , Australia, Jul 2012
A great way to see a lot of places in a short time. Superb tour guide, comfortable coach and good hotel rooms.
Thankyou Global Journeys   5 , Australia, Jul 2012
Thank you for your excellent organisation of my Trafalgar tour last July. The weather was not the best for the whole trip (which is to be expected). Bergen in (unusual) brilliant sunshine for 2 days was lovely though. Trafalgar tour not rated excellent because of some issues with non-smoking rooms not being really non-smoking. Scandinavia has a long way to go to catch up to no smoking conscious-Australia. Coach driver was brilliant. Tour director managed 41 timing-wise well but not always with a good sense of humour. I liked the 'choice' aspect of Trafalgar side-tours and did most of these when they were scheduled out of the cities we visited. Best side trips were Troll's Road and the Norwegian family experience.
Good value for money   0 , Australia, Jun 2012
Good value for money and as I don't do surveys, obviously the whole experience with you has been rewarding. Thanks.
Too many hours travelling in the coach some days   1 , Australia, Jun 2012
We had a great time, but some hotels and meals were not the best. Beds very hard and rooms tired. This varied as there were also some nice hotels. Too many hours traveling in the coach on some days. Most of the better tours were extras, therefore added an extra $650.00 plus per person, then on top of that there were the tips that were expected by tour ...read more guides. We had an excellent bus driver. Where I have marked average I would have preferred to be able to mark good.
Visits to Castles and Cathedrals almost daily was a bit much   0 , Australia, Jun 2012
The planned journey was very good having visited England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland in 16 days. However, visits to Castles and Cathedrals almost daily was a bit too much. Maybe more visits to Roman ruins or archaeology sites would be more interesting. The Coach driver was excellent and the Tour Guide was very good. I thought that having to purchase ...read more the 'optional tours' for the whole tour on the first day was not appropriate though.
