Efficiently run program and tour director was always on hand 1 Best of France , Australia, Jun 2013
Tour was impressive in regard to the efficiently run program and also the tour director, Julien, who was always on hand to answer any questions or help with inquires about the towns were visiting (ie, places of interest, transport or shops). Julien put in 150% effort to ensure the guests were happy and looked after in regard to many aspects of their holiday.
Hidden costs should be included from the outset 3 East Coast USA and Canada , Australia, Jun 2013
We believe that all 'hidden' costs should be included from the outset and paid for up front and prior to departure. These include airport transfers, a glass of wine with evening meals and tips for the guide and driver. We had a great group of fellow travellers and our Guide, Ben Conte was one of the best that we have ever had (and we have had many). read more The itinerary would only be improved by more two night stopovers and extending the tour and increasing the price - we appreciate that cost of the tour is a prime factor in deciding to tour and that some may be deterred but there are many who would be attracted who appreciate a more relaxed pace to savour stop-overs enroute.
Very happy with all aspects of the tour and Global Journeys 1 Best of Devon and Cornwall , Australia, Jun 2013
The coach tour was great. The guide was very competent and knowledgeable about the history and customs of the Devon and Cornwall area. Previously Frances had handled all our arrangements very well and had all our documents ready and delivered early so all was in place before our departure. We were very happy with all aspects of the tour and Global Journeys service.
Overall we were disappointed 1 Traditional Europe , Australia, Jun 2013
We were very happy with Yvonne at Global Journeys and with our Trafalgar Tour Director (Simon). This was our first Coach tour ever. Overall we were disappointed. 1. Subtle pressure placed to take optional tours. If one chose not to participate one was left to his own devices to fill in time at a hotel, usually some distance from the sights and attractions. read more We went to hotel reception desk asked for a map and directions to a bus etc. We optimised our time and saw far more than most of the other passengers did. However we believe that this kind of situation should not arise at all when one is on a pricey fully escorted coach tour. 2. We have been to Assisi previously and were looking forward to revisit. Instead we were taken to a hotel quite a distance away from the old town perched on the hilltop. Nobody on the coach saw Assisi - what a magic place! 3. It was a total waste of time to be taken to the shopping outlets in Innsbruck, Florence and Grasse.
Overall an excellent experience 1 European Highlights , Australia, Jun 2013
Global Journeys' booking process is good with Hannah responding quickly with information required. On arrival at the airport, Trafalgar staff met us promptly at designated time and place. Tour guide Richard provided an entertaining commentary and readily available for any queries, assistance or recommending activities. This was a tour going through read more a large distance in a short time, but did not seem rushed with a nice 2 day stop in Switzerland. Perhaps more airport pick-up and drop-off times would make things more convenient.
Thanks for all your help Georgie...you were wonderful 2 Italian Glory , Australia, Jun 2013
The problems were really only the coach seating was too tight (need more space)...and the hotels (good locations but problems with each e.g. mould in bathroom, air-con not working in some of the rooms, some rooms way too small for 2 people (but we are in Italy), no safe in one etc). Other than that everything else was good....great driver, tour director read more & local guides, plenty of choice with optional extra tours. Would have liked more time on some of the optional tours...but we are with a group & understand. Disappointed with one optional extra (but was not the fault of the Tour Director) as we were going to see the inside of a monastery prior to a dinner (this was our main reason for doing this option) & when we got there & couldn't go in (a death had occurred in monastery). As we said totally out of her control. Loved San Gimignano, St Peter's Basillica to name a few. Perhaps Insight Vacations would have been better for us (less people on coach, hotels etc). Thanks for all your help Georgie...you were wonderful.
A great tour covering all key highlights we hoped to see 2 , Australia, Jun 2013
The National Parks were amazing, and we enjoyed all other aspects as well. Loved the sightseeing in the city areas. Quite a hectic pace between San Diego & Las Vegas. We were all shattered by bedtime in Las Vegas. This was really the only downside. The Travel Director was very experienced & professional.
Tour guide went above and beyond for us 1 European Whirl , Australia, Jun 2013
The tour guide Patrick was excellent, we consider he went above and beyond what a tour guide should do, the hotels were all very good and the driver, Luca, was also excellent, some of the roads in Europe he had to traverse were a drivers nightmare but he handled them all brilliantly. He was also a great help with peoples carry on luggage. (Ed: Review read more based on slightly different itinerary. Trip name and itinerary updated this season)
Would do it all again tomorrow & can't wait to plan my next trip 1 Best of France , Australia, May 2013
My 13 day Trafalgar tour was fabulous & exceeded my expectations. Our Tour Guide, Cindy Cartier was 100% the best! Would do it all again tomorrow & can't wait to plan my next trip... just deciding where to go next?!
Top marks to Trafalgar for getting the formula right! 3 Scenic Parks Explorer , Australia, May 2013
The tour had a great itinerary and coverage of the National Parks. Meals and accommodation were good to very good depending, understandably, on the size of the town for the night. Pace was fairly demanding but was be expected because of the sheer distances that needed to be covered. And tour director and driver were excellent. Top marks to Trafalgar read more for getting the formula right!
Rocky Mountaineer one of the highlights for me 1 Iconic Rockies and Western Canada , Australia, May 2013
I had a really good experience considering this was the first time I have ever taken a group tour. The tour guide was very knowledgable and helpful at all times. The accommodation at the hotels were excellent and would have loved to stay a little longer at some of the overnight stops. I found it a little annoying having to pack and unpack for such read more short stays in the hotels. The day tour for Vancouver city I found was too short and missed out as we did not get to stop at a few interesting locations but just drove past. As for the Rocky Mountaineer experience it was one of the highlights for me and would do it all over again.
Booking through Global Journeys was just so easy 2 Highlights of Peru , Australia, May 2013
This was my first time booking through Global Journeys and I have to say it was just so easy I have recommended the site to friends and family. I booked a tour with Trafalgar, the second time I have travelled with them, and I would do it again. If you are somebody, like me, who does a lot of research on tours, prices and you know what you are after read more then Global Journeys is great. Everything was organized, the prices were excellent, all documents were sent in plenty of time. Trafalgar are exceptional with their tours. They provide all the information you need but YOU need to read it. I never felt rushed on this tour and Peru is an Amazing country with so much to see. Trafalgar did an excellent job to make this experience unforgettable. Our Tour Director, Angel, was a passionate local and extremely knowledgeably who always kept you updated and informed and as travelling as a solo female I always felt comfortable, at ease and safe. Make sure you read all the information on the particular country, if you do that there will be no surprises, except for the fantastical, organized, unexpected ones. If you know what you are after and have done your research, Global Journeys is a great, hassle free, convenient way to book your tour.
Thankyou Trafalgar! 1 East Coast USA and Canada , Australia, May 2013
It was very well organised. Tour Director Diego Campuzano did an excellent job. Good value for money. Covered lots of places I could only dream about. Good camaraderie all around. I would recommend it very highly to my friends and family.
A very good tour, well organised and not rushed 1 Northern Italy including Cinque Terre , Australia, May 2013
The tour was interesting and very well organised, all the optional tours were excellent. The trip encompassed much more than the program indicated. Lake Orta option was outstanding, time in Stresa and Genoa interesting, even poor weather in Cinque Terra was overcome so we had great views. Our guide Deborah was efficient and helpful always. Coach was read more cramped on right hand side and exit steps at back extremely steep with poor handrail or grip on one side only. Accommodation excellent except in La Spezia which was basic with poor noise insulation. Food was always good and plentiful. All in all a very good tour, well organised and not rushed.
A great rail journey 3 Contrasts of Switzerland , Australia, May 2013
Great travelling by train as we were able to move around freely. Our Tour director was very friendly and knowledgeable and the hotels used were in good convenient locations and meals provided were tasty.
A wonderful journey through Switzerland 4 Contrasts of Switzerland , Australia, May 2013
The train travel including the Glacier Express gave great views of the beautiful countryside. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about Switzerland and was available & helpful at all times. The accommodation and meals were excellent and the option trips added to the enjoyment & understanding of Swiss history & culture. We would recommend this tour.
Thankyou Trafalgar! 1 Spectacular Canadian Rockies with Alaska Cruise , Australia, May 2013
An excellent introduction to western Canada and Alaska.
Tour covered the major highlights we wanted to see. 5 Historic Highlights , Australia, May 2013
Overall the tour covered the major highlights we wanted to see. In particular we were impressed with Mt Vernon, Monticello, the field guide at Gettysburg and Jamestown. Feedback was given to Trafalgar that the Shenandoah element was very disappointing particularly the standard of accommodation and its overall relevance to the tour. Far more time should read more have been allocated to visiting significant sites in Richmond e.g the Confederate White House. One visit in Richmond (to a church) grossly understates the importance of the town in an historic highlights context. We would have preferred more time in Jamestown fort and less time in Colonial Williamsburg. The optional excursion in Colonial Williamsburg was not value for money. The Amish experience was disappointing and largely overstated in the tour itinerary.
Thoroughly enjoyed the tour 1 East Coast USA and Canada , Australia, May 2013
Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Our Tour consultant, Georgie, was excellent - helpful in every way. Organisation was very efficient and travel arrangements went without a hitch! Tour was engaging - good tour group, excellent tour guide - very good local guides, coach was comfortable, pace was fine. A couple of long travel days but necessary. Itinerary read more was excellent and gave a very good sample of what is on offer. Would definitely do it all again.
A fantastic well organised tour 1 Traditional Europe , Australia, May 2013
It was a fantastic well organised tour. Our tour director Richard Benne was really experienced and so knowledgeable, which meant nearly everything was smooth. It was a tour that took us to many fabulous places.
