The best tour I have had 1 Best of Turkey , Australia, Sep 2013
This was the best tour I have had - excellent guide in Charlie; the best hotels and food and a great experience of Turkey with the modern and ancient ruins. I would recommend this tour to anyone.
An amazing time from start to end 1 East Coast USA and Canada , Australia, Aug 2013
I have an amazing time from start to end of the tour. Our tour director Linda has had a lot knowledge of the the places we have been in to. The coach driver Jose was indeed keep us safe on the road all the way through. I will recommend this trip to all my friends and to all everyone out there. This has now been my third trip with Trafalgar and I will read more keep doing it over and over again.
We had a fantastic time 1 East Coast USA and Canada , Australia, Aug 2013
The tour was fabulous we had a fantastic time. Our tour guide Linda was very knowledgeable and went out of her way to please everyone. There were places we wished we could stay longer but that's with every tour. The pace was hectic but manageable. Accommodation was excellent. The tour gave a great insight to the places visited with local guides in a read more few places. The only negatives I have was I think with the price paid some of the optional dinners should have been included and 52 people was to many. Trafalgar advertise max 49 with average only 40.
A great holiday with some great local tour guides 2 Imperial Europe , Australia, Aug 2013
A great holiday, nice and easy with some great local tour guides, Paul is a very good tour guide, organising some really great extras.
An excellent glimpse of what UK and Ireland has to offer 1 Britain and Ireland Panorama , AU, Aug 2013
The very nature of this type of tour means that you're 'on the go' all the time and there is a balance between trying to see and experience as much as possible without overdoing it. For me this tour hit the mark. Reasonably paced, for a coach tour, with a good mix of sights and experiences. There were certainly places where we would have liked to have read more had more time but the time allotted was usually 'adequate'. Tour leader (Anna) was excellent - friendly, helpful and a lot of fun. This was an excellent glimpse of what UK and Ireland had to offer and I would highly recommend this tour.
It was all wonderful! 3 Switzerland and Austria , Australia, Aug 2013
The tour was fantastic. The tour guide, Miranda, was incredibly well organized and provided the most amazing historical perspectives, wherever we were. The accommodation was brilliantly located, but the quality was lacking at several destinations - including Salzburg, St Moritz and Innsbruck. The food, overall, was very good, and the breakfast buffets read more were excellent. I enjoyed the pace of the tour, but quite a few older passengers found it too tiring, and some less abled needed to be excluded from some of the walking tours. The route was so incredibly picturesque, and the varied modes of transport (boats, cog railways, trains, horse and buggy etc) added extra enjoyment. The optional extras (I did all of them) were, in the main, fantastic. There was a Swiss dinner at the Stadtkeller in Lucerne which was pretty ordinary, but I really enjoyed all of the others. Staying at the Radisson Blu at Zurich Airport was a bonus at the start of the tour - so convenient to reach, after getting off the plane, and so easy with the rail network underneath. So, in summary - I had an absolute ball! I wouldn't hesitate to travel on my own again, and would definitely take another tour - having everything organized makes life very simple. You also know that the bulk of the tour has already been paid for, and only need to factor in lunches and spending money. Choosing the Switzerland & Austria trip also meant that we were in incredibly clean, safe countries. At no time did I feel unsafe or threatened, and didn't suffer any illness. It was all wonderful!
Well planned tour 1 Best of Devon and Cornwall , Australia, Aug 2013
Well planned tour, comfortable hotels, although Jurys Hotel accommodation not quite up there with other hotels.
The Edinbrugh Tatoo was certainly a highlight of the trip 2 Wonders of Britain and Ireland , Australia, Aug 2013
Firstly, Frances was a delight to book with, she always responded to my emails and phone calls quickly and efficiently. What was covered in the tour was very good. The travel director Paul, was exceptional with a great deal of knowledge and insight into all the areas visited. Our bus driver Kevin, showed amazing dexterity and some fabulous reverse driving read more as a result of road works in a very narrow street in Edinbrugh. Unfortunately most of the hotels were below average, some were very dated and dusty. The dinner on the first night was a horrible introdution to the British cusine. Of our dining experiences, I would say only two dinners were thoroughly enjoyable, the one in Liverpool and the one as part of the river cruise in Ireland. The shows were fun however, the accompaning dinners rushed and bland. Smaller shows with better food would have been appreciated. We were very fortunate that the group as a whole, was very positive and upbeat and were able to laugh off some of the poor meals we had. Better choices of retaurants would have made the tour far more enjoyable. The Edinbrugh Tatoo was certainly a highlight of the trip.
A well-paced tour with a good mix of travel modes 7 Contrasts of Switzerland , Australia, Aug 2013
A well-paced tour with a good mix of travel modes - train, coach, boat - and plenty of time for walking around the cities and towns visited. Tour organisation was very good and flexible enough to handle contingencies (e.g route variation because of railway works) without unnecessary disruption to the schedule.
Tour was good, however very disappointing Tour Director 2 Britain and Ireland Panorama , Australia, Aug 2013
The service provided by Global Journeys was prompt and efficient - thank you Hannah. The tour was was good, however Trafalgar Tours really need to vet the people they choose as tour directors. I and most of the people on my tour were extremely disappointed with the manner of our tour director. Clare was very well informed and provided good explanations read more and information however was curt and impersonal and at times rude. She was impatient. She gave information overload about the day's events at times and then added to the confusion by providing the information and times for the following days. She only spoke to the group through her microphone and preferred to hide her face in her iPhone when we were getting on or off the coach. If we had issues we wanted to discuss she was defensive. I would not choose or recommend Trafalgar Tours again because of her, although we know from talking to another tour group with Trafalgar that they were thoroughly happy with their director Mike. Very disappointing Tour Director, and for some it spoiled their holiday.
Recommend to anyone wishing to see Europe 1 Grand European , Australia, Aug 2013
We spent New Year's Eve with friends who were speaking excitedly about their coach tour through Europe with Trafalgar. We got the travel bug too, did some research and decided on a 21 day Grand European Tour with Trafalgar. I searched the net and up popped Global Journeys who appeared to be competitively priced for this tour and in fact were the cheapest read more I found. I rang and spoke to Hannah Campbell, she explained what I needed to do and from that moment on Hannah was our personal consultant at Global Journeys who handled our phone calls, emails, payments etc. Hannah was polite, efficient and always responded to our questions promptly if she couldn't answer straight away. We had a ball on our tour, we met new friends and everyone got on well with each other. I can recommend to anyone wishing to see Europe to speak with Global Journeys first.
Ireland is a beautiful country 2 Irish Experience , Australia, Aug 2013
The tour was great. Liam Hogan, our tour director, was fantastic and very professional. Everything went smoothly and like clockwork. He was very knowledgeable and had some great stories to tell. The guides that showed us around the various cities were also fantastic. Ireland is a beautiful country and I am glad that I decided to go back for a second time.
A lovely 7 days of touring 1 Treasures of France including Normandy , Australia, Aug 2013
We really enjoyed the tour and the places that we visited. I thought the the pace was slightly hectic and would have enjoyed a more leisurely pace. This was particularly so on the last day of of tour when we rushed though the Sacre Couere, then very quickly walked in Montmarre, the farewell dinner and cruise on the seine. While it is good to say that read more all these activities were done, they were much rushed and we did not get time to appreciate the sites or activities. Perhaps less activities and more time to enjoy them. However overall made friends and was a lovely 7 days of touring.
Unforgettable trip 3 Highlights of Turkey , Australia, Aug 2013
We had an amazing tour with tour guide Gotche. Her knowledge attention to detail and humour all combined to make this an unforgettable trip. Even the balance of nationalities and age group of the passengers was well thought through. We will definitely be booking a trip again. Thank you Michelle.
Would recommend anyone to use Global Journeys and Trafalgar 1 European Whirl , Australia, Jul 2013
Bookings and information was excellent. The tour was better than expected. The tour director for Trafalger (Jella), went out of his way to provide information and to go the extra mile. The bus driver was a true profesional and left us in awe of his ability to drive the large bus. I would recommend anyone to use your company and Trafalgar for any holiday read more in Europe. 11 out of 10!
Very well organised trip 2 European Whirl , Australia, Jul 2013
It was a very well organised trip and looking forward to having more trips with Trafalgar.
You get to see the top attractions of the country 3 Real Britain , Australia, Jul 2013
I only did this tour to fill in the time between my Irish and French tours. I am glad I did. This was a great tour and although we covered lots of England we did not seem to be doing that much driving (I suppose its so small anyway). This really does do the main tourist attractions in England so you get to see the top attractions of the country - there read more are a number of places we were taken that were not on the schedule (these are up to the guide to decide depending on time). I found these to be wonderful (such as Salisbury Cathedral). This is a great tour if you want to see as much of England as possible in a small amount of time - also one of the reasons I chose it is because I did Scotland last year and it seems to be one of the few tours that does not take in Edinburgh and/or Glasgow as did not want to go to these places again this year.
A great tour which I thoroughly enjoyed. Many thanks 1 Best of Devon and Cornwall , Australia, Jul 2013
Comprehensive tour of Devon and Cornwall. Very interesting and enjoyable. Superbly managed. Many highlights. The best were Bath and Cornwall. Andrew, the tour manager and Russell the driver provided first class service and support. It was a great tour which I thoroughly enjoyed. Many thanks.
Great introduction to many of the highlights of Europe 1 Traditional Europe , Australia, Jul 2013
A wonderful experience and great introduction to many of the highlights of Europe. The Trafalgar Traditional Europe tour was well organized and well run. The good package of optional excursions combined with the main program gave us access to many iconic places. We were fortunate in having an excellent tour director and coach driver and a group that got on very well.
Very informative and relaxing 1 European Whirl , Australia, Jul 2013
Very happy with our holiday. Everything went well. Tour Director, Peter Rosenthal, was excellent - would be very happy to have him guide our next tour. We were put at ease with everything done for us - the holiday was stress free. Knowledge and guidance from Peter made the holiday very informative and relaxing. (Ed: Review based on slightly different read more itinerary. Trip name and itinerary updated this season)
