Fantastic Iceland   3 Iceland Adventure , NSW, Australia, Jul 2017
So much to see. Some lunch stops could have been shorter to allow more time at each amazing scenic location. Great hotels and meals.
Title fine & correct with what is offered 2 The Best of Switzerland , New Zealand, Jul 2017
My second journey booked with Global Journeys and very good again. Our Globus tour driver and tour director were very competent. First time I have been in a full coach & one cannot have time with everybody but overall not a bad mix, mostly Americans.
15 Day Warsaw, the Baltics & Helsinki 5 , VIC, Australia, Jul 2017
Overall the trip was excellent - in terms of content, hotels, and guides. The places themselves were spectacular. I have written a blog with pictures, about the tour - https://linds-diannesherriff.blogspot.com.au

We had done a Globus faith tour just prior to joining the East Europe tour and there were some differences. We preferred having most meals read more included, and almost all excursions included in the Faith tour - there seemed to be lots of extras to pay for on the 2nd - lots of local guides, lots of meals, lots of optional tours which meant that this tour was considerably more expensive than we'd anticipated. Other comment - Helsinki was a bit of a let down after the other wonderful cities... I think it would be better to do 2 nights in Tallinn rather than go to Helsinki. Our guide was a lovely lady however I would have liked her to take leadership from day one, on coach seating rotation, as always there are those who believe they have front seat privileges every day!
Iceland - too much to see, too little time   8 Iceland Adventure , NSW, Australia, Jul 2017
Iceland was certainly more than I expected. The diversity of the terrain and sights - from lava fields, miles of moss covered rocks, green farmland, majestic waterfalls, ice flows, whales and hot springs - were fascinating. Holm, our tour guide, was exceptional, regaling us with Icelandic history and stories of vikings and trolls. We also had great read more weather with day time temperatures up to the low twenties (celcius) and lots of sunshine, amazing for the beginning of August.

The standard of accommodation was fine, considering the small population in all towns visited except Reykjavik and Akureyri. Yes, it is expensive compared to Australia but no more so than the other Nordic countries. On the whole, I found the tour to be good value when compared to other advertised tours of Iceland. I've booked several tours through Global Journeys and, as always, Yvonne provided exceptional service.
Wonderful Trip 11 Scottish Highlands & Islands , New Zealand, Jul 2017
This was a very memorable trip the tour guide (Margery) and the driver (Mark) were excellent, their knowledge of the country and its history was very informative. I would recommend this tour to people wanting to experience the cities and a large area of the country side. We enjoyed the optional excursions especially the night out in Edinburgh at the read more Scottish Evening Dinner - great entertainment, I would love to do it again. The position of the Hotels was great giving us an opportunity go out at night to enjoy the night life.
11 day Portugal in Depth (Globus) 10 Portugal in Depth , NSW, Australia, Jul 2017
Overall the tour was very good. The tour guide Rui was excellent - his personality suited the job. He was v knowledgeable, patient and responsive. We enjoyed his company and the group awarded him a medal for his efforts. The hotels were mostly good a couple in Oporto and the Algarve did not have air circulation or air conditioning and we had a few hot read more nights!

From the itinerary description we thought we would see Sintra (the brochure said Sintra district) but did not which was disappointing. Luckily we stayed on and saw Pena palace etc later. The tour group was larger than we expected but it was very well managed by Rui the tour guide. We enjoyed our holiday.
Title is satisfactory 4 Best of Norway with Return to Oslo , QLD, Australia, Jul 2017
I added this tour to my Cosmos 16 day 'Northern Highlights & Arctic Circle' tour because it visited a part of Norway which was not covered in the Cosmos tour. I thoroughly enjoyed this short Globus tour as it had a good itinerary & visited some very scenic areas of Norway. However, I felt that it was not as good value for money as other Globus tours read more that I have enjoyed over the years. The Hotels ( & included breakfasts & meals) on several nights, were of a very average standard & in my opinion, not as good generally as those I had just experienced on my budget- priced Cosmos tour in the same country. Also the extension, back to Oslo from Bergen, would have been a more pleasurable experience by coach rather than train. The optional excursion from Bergen to the home of Edward Grieg was a real highlight & should be included in future tours.

I have booked several holidays through Global Journeys over past years & always found the company & its representatives to be knowledgeable, efficient & pleasant. I would recommend this company to anyone interested in good value, hassle-free travel arrangements. (GJ: Thanks Barbara!)
Unforgettable holiday 5 , QLD, Australia, Jul 2017
Both my wife and I really enjoyed this trip. Our tour guide and driver were fantastic for the Scandinavian countries and Russia were very professional. Thank you Yvonne for organising our this holiday.
Great Trip 4 Pacific Coast Adventure , New Zealand, Jul 2017
Didn't know what to expect, but was delighted to experience such a wonderful tour of the west coast of the US. The tour guide was well organised, very helpful and has great humour which made the trip so lovely. Also the driver was great too. Really enjoyed visiting the Redwood National Park and seeing the astonishing, huge Redwood trees. Loved Seattle read more and exploring San Francisco. Hotels were great. Overall, would highly recommend this tour.
Well organised sampler 2 Britain Sampler , NSW, Australia, Jul 2017
First time traveller with Globus and based on my experience I would travel with them again. Excellent organisation, hotels as expected with a mix of in top location and slightly out of town. Small extras like a quick stop to take a photo at the England/Scotland border sign and little treats made for a wonderful trip. Everyone kept to the schedule. Fast read more paced, but that is what we wanted/expected from the sampler....so we can come back to our favourite spots in the future.
Unforgettable Scandinavia and Russia   12 , VIC, Australia, Jul 2017
Just back from this wonderful 23 day journey through Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland with optional extension to St. Petersburg & Moscow. Can't speak highly enough about this tour from our wonderful Swedish Tour Leader Anna-Lena to the great group of fellow travellers (41 in total). No problems encountered - organisational, accommodation, scenery read more fantastic. Norway scenery unforgettable and we had great weather - averaged about 18-23 degrees most places. Needed more summer gear rather than heavy winter gear.

Russia is a 'must see' destination and all those who did the optional extension to St Petersburg and Moscow were so thrilled with these cities - it exceeded all our expectations. Good accommodation everywhere with great central locations. Thoroughly recommend this tour even though quite expensive in Denmark, Finland etc. Russia probably the cheapest in general especially in regards to food.
Great Scandinavian Experience 3 , VIC, Australia, Jul 2017
A very well run tour with an excellent and competent tour guide named 'Sjur'. We experienced an excellent journey throughout the Scandinavian countries. Amazing scenery, enjoyable experiences travelling and meeting people through the planned activities. The journey was every bit as enjoyable as the destinations. Particularly enjoyed the mix of travel read more arrangements (Coach, Ship, Train, Airplane) for the trip. On balance quite a very cooperate group of varying ages.
Our first Canadian Rail and Alaska Cruise experience   4 Great Canadian Rail Journey with Alaska Cruise , NSW, Australia, Jul 2017
Canada's 150th Anniversary was a real celebration but the ensuing backlog of rail freight caused a very delayed start and a longer than normal rail trip for our tour. The additional time at the rail terminal in Toronto was not much fun but once on the train the trip became most enjoyable. The coach section of the trip and the visits to Jasper, Banff read more and Victoria were great highlights. The lakes Louise and Maligne and the Columbia icefield were particularly spectacular. To round off the tour with the 8-day Alaska cruise provided a wonderful conclusion to a great tour.

The coach trips were interspersed with interesting inclusions and more than our fair share of roadside wildlife - bears, mountain goats and a herd of 50+ elk. Our tour guide was very professional and extremely knowledgeable. We would highly recommend this tour.
Fantastic Western Canada   12 Grand Western Canada Vacation , VIC, Australia, Jul 2017
We had a fabulous time on our tour. We had a wonderful tour director (Vedrana Ascroft) and a highly competent driver, John. Although we were very busy on this tour there was still enough free time and having a number of 2 night stops was most welcome. This tour was highly organised and it all went very smoothly. The Canadian Rockies are magnificent read more and there were numerous photo opportunities. This tour was our first and 13 days was a good length of time. We had some delicious included meals and most of the accommodation was very good to excellent.

The Fairmont Hotel in Whistler was particularly good, as was the breakfast there. Our coach was a new one and very comfortable with lots of leg room and free wi fi on board. Highlights were the Butchart Gardens and the dinner there in the old family home and the Peak to peak gondola in Whistler. Traveling through the Columbia Icefields and a ride out onto the Athabasca Glacier was also very enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour.
We would definitely go on another Globus tour in the future   3 Spectacular Alaska! with Alaska Cruise , VIC, Australia, Jul 2017
Our highlights were viewing the glaciers up close and seeing the sea life, whales, puffins, sea otters' sea lions, the bald eagle ect. The people we travelled with were great and we all seem to get on well with each other. The accommodation was very good and we had good meals. Our Tour Director was the best you could ever have. She went over and above read more to make the trip one we would never forget. Our Coach Driver was the same, very careful driver and the two of them were a great team, you could not fault them in any way.

We thought the optional excursions were mainly flights which were quite expensive and others were aimed at people who enjoyed going down the rapids in a rubber boat, and did not suit the older people. We liked the Denali park and the train journey from Fairbanks to Denali. All our lunch stops, river cruises and informative displays of how people lived in the earlier days, were excellent. We would definitely go on another Globus tour in the future if possible.
Great way to see some of Scandinavia   12 , ACT, Australia, Jun 2017
A great way to see some amazing places in Scandinavia. We visited a diverse range of attractions, saw some spectacular scenery and interacted with some incredible people. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and provided us with wonderful insights into the places and people we were visiting. Our accommodation was pretty good - although many of us really read more missed our evening cuppa with few places having tea/coffee facilities. The optional excursions were often expensive with many opting to do them on their own for considerably less cost. Overall - very happy with the trip and the wonderful memories we have.
Portugal in Depth is a wonderful way to see Portugal!! 9 Portugal in Depth , QLD, Australia, Jun 2017
Our tour started in Lisbon on 29 June which was a perfect time as the weather was just perfect. We had no rain on our whole trip and saw some amazing places. Our Tour Guide, Uri, was very helpful especially as one of our travellers had a back problem and couldn't visit all the places so Uri just organised for her to rest up at a lovely spot so that read more she could take in the atmosphere at least.

We met some travellers from other parts of Australia, the UK, and America so it was a varied group and the coach was so comfortable and fitted with Wifi so easy to keep in touch with family at home. My favourite place was probably Lagos on the way to the Algarve and we could have just stay there for days and days but unfortunately we had to move on to the Algarve instead which was equally enjoyable too.
Coach Tour First timer 2 Passage Through New England & Eastern Canada , New Zealand, Jun 2017
This was my first time travelling on a coach tour and travelling on my own as a single as I have always self-driven with a companion in the past. I enjoyed Gladys as tour director she was patient, fun and very knowledgeable about all parts of the tour. It was a great tour party and mix of people who made me feel as a single very comfortable. It was read more nice to be put on a table on the cruise with people on the tour it made it feel like meeting with friends every night.
Awesome tour 15 Britain & Ireland in Depth , New Zealand, Jun 2017
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour. Everything was so well organised and it was a lovely stress free holiday. Our tour guide Andrew was awesome and so knowledgeable. The included sightseeing was great and the optional excursions that we did were really worth doing. The hotels were all good, apart from Inverness. The hotel there was very old and a few people read more on our tour had no hot water at all during our two night stay. Our coach broke down a few days into our tour and we got a brand new one which was great apart from limited leg room on one side of the coach. Our fellow travellers were all lovely and we all got one really well. We will definitely do another tour through Globus.
Excellent tour of Scandinavia and Finland 11 , NSW, Australia, Jun 2017
This Globus tour provided us with a great range of varied experiences, as we explored Scandinavia and Finland. It was particularly enjoyable to experience different forms of transport: coach, car ferries, overnight ferry between Copenhagen and Oslo, a fjord cruise, trains and a plane flight as well. The scenery was fabulous, particularly in Norway. read more Our tour director, Karel de Bruin, was well organised and knowledgeable.

Accommodation on the tour was mostly satisfactory, though the standard varied quite a bit. Some of the Scandic hotels used were not up to the standard we have previously experienced with Globus. We had two coach drivers (Stockholm to Oslao and Tromsø to Helsinki), both of whom made us feel both comfortable and safe.
