We did not realise that we would see so many mountain passes. Another tour company has country roads tours - well Cosmos surely had 'The Country Roads of the Alps'. It surprised us as to how much we saw. The tour guide, Zsofia Balpap, was excellent. It took a day to fully understand her, but she was everything we wanted/needed. Always happy and smiling, read more always prepared to help with any problems we thought we had. Zsofia was the best guide we have had on 5 Cosmos tours. (our guide in Ireland came very close.) Coach driver Massimo was excellent and provided a lot of support for Zsofia. He worked that extra long bus in very difficult situations. We all felt very safe with him. As a tour it was exceptional in places we visited and value for money. We will recommend it to anyone we hear is travelling to Europe and wants to see the Alps. Thankyou Cosmos, Zsofia and Massimo!
Had an enjoyable time on this tour, the tour guide (Brad) was simply amazing with his knowledge about BC & Albert and commentary during the tour. He was remarkable and made the whole tour very interesting. The driver (Dennis) didn't say a lot but his driving was exceptional. Didn't do many optional tours as we had been travelling for over 3 weeks and read more it was nice to spend time in the cities we visited. Like the Canadian tour we did prior to this tour, we would have preferred to pay a little extra in the cost of the tour to include breakfast in all the hotels we stayed at. A lot of mornings we had to depart early and a provided continental breakfast would have been sufficient. Some of the rooms in the hotels we stayed in, did not provide enough space for two suit cases.
Informative and interesting tour 2

As a family, this tour was very affordable and at a suitable pace. Our Cosmos tour guide, Joost, and driver, Georgio, made an excellent team. We were impressed by the wealth of knowledge by Joost, and the amazing driving skills of Georgio. The tours included were informative and interesting. Some walking is involved, but it added to experience. The read more optional extras tours were lots of fun, and fantastic value for money. We highly recommend this tour.
Delightful! This was our fourth Cosmos tour and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We had a small group of 31 with 20 being Aussies. We travelled approximately 3,200 kms in 14 days and so the day would start with bags out at 7am and on the bus by 8am. We would normally get to our hotel accommodation around 5pm or later. The standard of the hotels read more exceeded our expectations, but the location of a few were not close to the city. We used public transport or taxis to navigate our way to the city at night time. There is adequate free time to explore on your own and we did our own research in advance to make sure that we did not waste a minute of our holiday. The optional excursions on this tour are the best that we have encountered on all of our Cosmos tours and we recommend all of them. The absolute highlight of this tour was Niagara Falls and the included Hornblower boat trip was just awesome and should not be missed. Other highlights included the Thousand Islands cruise (also included), CN Tower in Toronto (optional), monuments and museums in Washington DC and old Quebec City. We were provided with seven local guides for the different cities and all the guides were locals and knew their city very well. Thank you Cosmos, once again, for such a well organised tour.
Cosmos the operator of this tour delivered a enjoyable all-inclusive experience, it was conducted by an extremely well organized and experienced Tour Director along with an excellent driver. I like the freedom the tour offered giving me plenty of free time to explore my own interests. The accommodation was as expected and represented value for money. read more I would have like to spend more time in some places however my overall experience was very good and i wouldn't hesitate in recommending this tour to others.
As a first time solo traveler I enjoyed the trip overall as I saw some amazing places but the pace was too quick meaning we had very little time in many places, especially the 1 night stopovers. We did not see much in places like Brussels or Ulm which was disappointing. Even with the 2 night stays, we didn't have enough time as we arrived at our destination read more late so we really only had 1 full day there. I would certainly try for at least 2-3 days in each place. Most of the accommodation was a bit far out of the city also, so after arriving late I then had to rely on public transport if I didn't participate in the optional dinners which I thought were quite costly.
There were too many 'optional excursions' and not enough 'included excursions'. If I had done all the optional excursions it would have cost me almost as much as the tour itself! On a positive note the coach was very comfortable and our driver was careful and experienced however I do think if the coach is going into town for an evening tour they should have been able to give a lift in, so I wouldn't have to rely on public transport. The local guides were excellent and our tour guide was pleasant and informative, however I must add that the coach did leave without me one day as I lost our small group walking amongst the crowds of people, and a proper head check was not done on the coach. They only came back 15 minutes later because the 10 year old in our group noticed me missing! Certainly learnt my lesson to not put your head down for a second!
Our online booking was perfect, with Michelle, organizing our documents to be mailed early to accommodation our departure for pre tour travel. Thank you Michelle! Our 23 day tour New York to Los Angeles, was extremely comfortable, in a brand new coach, driven by Mike, who was always cheerful and friendly, never seeming to tire of loading and unloading, read more our ever increasing luggage. Tour Director, Doris provided everything from postage stamps to shopping and dining tips. We received excellent tour information, and videos of our destinations, along with games and competitions. The tour content was excellent... we especially enjoyed the National Parks. Thank you to a great team!

A good way to see Ireland without the hassles

Irish Discovery

A good way to see Ireland without the hassles. Everything is organised from transport to accomodation to activities. The optional tours allow you to pick and choose what interests you or have the opportunity to have some down time.
Fantastic, great pace value for money, tour guide Alma and Driver Dennis were fantastic. Highly recommend it. Global journeys make it extremely simple. Thanks Georgie!
Such a contrast to the tour we did prior to this of the West Coast with Globus. Tour Director, Ken Thompson was bland, by the numbers person. We guessed that nothing of significance happened, or nowhere of significance was passed, along the way to our stops. Instead, he used DVDs extensively and when this wasn't happening, we had to listen to endless read more whining C&W music. A short burst of information, usually read off of a sheet of paper in a monotonous voice, heralded the fact that we were approaching one of our stops. As there was no 'welcome' reception and we had two more days on our own, the group did not gel very well. The absence of breakfasts, which bring some cohesion, was also a factor. In saying that, you have to make the most of a bad lot. The cities we visited were unique and outstanding. Adding another day allowing more time in Memphis would have been rewarding. Hotels good standard and most quite central.
This tour was exactly to our expectations based on previous experiences with Cosmos and careful reading of tour details. We had a wonderful time. Tour guide and local guides all passionate and interesting.
It was great to be able to see all over France in 14 days. The tour guide was very helpful and entertaining. We had a number of nice hotels. This is a value for money tour.
Already planning another cosmos tour to America 2
Dudley Eckert & Eleanor Learoyd, QLD, Australia, Sep 2015
Tour Director and Coach Driver were very professional at all times, in whatever daily situation they were placed in, taking care of their clients. They were both very approachable when clients needed extra assistance with any thing, no matter how big or small. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending Cosmos tours to friends and family. We are already planning read more another cosmos tour to America within the next 12 months.
Enjoyed a variety of experiences and interesting scenery 2
Robyn Webcke & Alex Rennie, QLD, Australia, Sep 2015
This tour provided a chance to spend 5 nights in the same hotel which meant that we did not have to pack up each morning and unpack each night. The first hotel in Marseille was across the road from the TGV (train) terminus which was very handy for anyone travelling from Paris by fast train. The hotel did not have refrigerators in the guest rooms but read more staff were happy to accommodate my medication in the hotel refrigerator. We then spent 5 nights in Avignon, doing day trips from here. The last hotel was near the airport for those leaving by air transport. There was also a free hotel shuttle bus to take people to the airport or to the bus (at the airport) that would take them to the TGV terminus in Marseille. (The cost of the bus was 8 euros and the bus had storage underneath for suitcases). I would recommend this tour to people who like the convenience of staying put for 5 nights and enjoy a variety of experiences and interesting scenery.
Our tour with Cosmos was absolutely fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed all of it. Chicago was fantastic. We loved going through Nashville and visiting The Grand Ole Opry at night. Brilliant. Memphis and seeing Graceland was so good. Even the train ride from Memphis through to Hammond, Louisiana was interesting...seeing cotton fields etc. We loved the read more Cajun dinner and dancing in Lafayette. Lots of fun. New Orleans was very interesting. A whole new world there. The music in all the bars were fantastic. Loved the food too. Overall - a great experience with a great Tour guide and bus driver too. Thank you Cosmos.
Great tour for us. Excellent guide. Enjoyed the time to 'do your own thing' if wanted, also not being locked into dinning options was good. Highly recommended for anyone not wishing for every last detail to be arranged. Tour was hard to fault!
Excellent tour especially for the price which was very reasonable. Hotel rooms were small and average but for the price that is all I expected and they were adequate. Always clean and everything worked. Tour was a good pace. We had plenty of time everywhere. Our guide Patricia always gave us a map before we arrived in each town, highlighted where the read more bus would be and the way to walk to the main attractions. Patricia and our driver Serge made it a very enjoyable trip.
Overall it is very well planned and organised 5
Gary Xu, WA, Australia, Sep 2015
Overall it is very well planned and organised. However, for our own experience, this may not apply to others, we found at the end of the tour that we had paid for the transfer cost from the Amsterdam Hotel to the airport, but later we found that there is shuttle from the hotel to the Amsterdam airport every 15 minutes. So basically we just wasted the read more money for the transfer. Given the fact that the hotel is very close to the airport and there is a shuttle bus available, when we asked for the transfer, we should be reminded that the transfer was not needed or at least someone could have provided options for us. It's not the absolute money that counts, we are happy to pay whatever the cost may be as long as it's necessary. We don't like to spend money unnecessarily. (ED. We agree. In fact if you are up for it, we actually recommend that clients of Global Journeys sort their own transfers out (if they aren't provided free of charge). Often you'll find them cheaper than prepaying in Australia & New Zealand. Not always of course, sometimes you'll pay more, and sometimes it might be a hassle, but often it's just easier to jump in a cab, get on the subway (or even UBER it!)).
The old towns and cities were very interesting

Very happy with booking via Global Journeys - Georgie organised documents ahead of our departure from Australia. Our tour guide Agnieszka was really good; she held a diverse group together very well and was cheerful and helpful at all times which made the tour pleasant. The old towns and cities were very interesting and from the tours it was good to read more learn so much about the troubled history of Poland. We had excellent choice of dishes in the buffet dinners and breakfasts in hotels. Excursion to Malbork Castle was fascinating. Auschwitz was very sad but definitely not to be missed. Optional dinner in Krakow with musical entertainment was fun but the one in Warsaw was just another dinner and not worth the price paid.
