Itinerary

Check into your hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore the Danish capital. Tonight, meet your Tour Director and fellow travellers. (D)

Get your bearings in the capital of the oldest kingdom in the world. Besides many interesting landmarks and architectural masterpieces, see some of the more famous sites on your orientation drive, including the legendary Little Mermaid statue. You can spend the rest of the day exploring on your own or join an optional tour of Zealand's castles. (B)

After breakfast, start the journey northwards, enjoying the drive across the Great Belt bridge, which will connect you to the fairytale island of Funen. Stop in Odense, Hans Christian Andersen's hometown and, via the Little Belt waterway, drive through the rural Jutland Peninsula to Frederikshavn. Today's Distance: 304 mi/ 490 km (B/D)

Take a pleasant ferry ride from Frederikshavn across the strategic Kattegat to Gothenburg, Sweden's thriving second-largest city and one of Europe's major seaports. After an orientation drive, follow the inland route and cross into Norway. Evening arrival in Oslo. Today's Distance: 242 mi/ 390 km (B)

Gustav Vigeland's sculptures, an evocative tribute to humankind in all its complexity, are among the highlights of the included Oslo sightseeing tour; also see the National Theater, Broadcasting House, Parliament, and Akershus Castle. In the afternoon, drive through the Telemark region, where you'll spend the night. Today's Distance: 121 mi/ 195km (B/D)

Take the scenic route for a visit to Vemork, where the heavy water plant was blown up by a commando unit of British and Norwegians known as the Heroes of Telemark. Visit the Vemork Museum, then travel along lakes, winding valleys, and rugged gorges backed by towering mountains. Ferry across the Hardangerfjord from Utne to Kvanndal and continue to Bergen, Norway's picture-perfect Hanseatic seaport. En route, picture stop at Steindalsfossen Waterfall. Today's Distance: 280 mi/ 450 km (B)

Built on seven hills with the fjords on one side and 1,000- foot Mount Floyen on the other, Bergen was the home of composer Edvard Grieg. Spend the day exploring at leisure, or consider joining one of our optional excursions to discover the history, traditions, and breathtaking views of this beautiful port city. (B)

More spectacular scenery as you drive towards the Sognefjord, to embark on a breathtaking cruise of one of Norway's mightiest fjords, the Naeroyfjord. On to the Fagernes area. Today's Distance: 236 mi/ 380 km (B/D)

First travel to Lillehammer, the mountain resort that hosted the 1994 Winter Olympics, and then continue on a scenic drive along beautiful Lake Mjosa. This is perhaps the most beautiful of the Scandinavian capitals, because the crystalline waters that flow through its intersecting canals give a luminous appearance to palaces, castles, and parks. Your city sightseeing takes in all the highlights including the City Hall. (B/D)

Your holiday ends with breakfast this morning. (B)

Beautiful Scandinavia 5 , SA, Australia, Oct 2019
I went in October. Not the best time of the year as it was cold and wet! Big group of 46 but our tour leader (firm, direct and friendly) handled everything very well. We had a very cheerful (always had a smile on his face), safe and skilled driver. Scandinavia is wonderful; clean fresh air, refreshing drinkable tap water, green rolling pastures, amazing ...read more sights and scrumptious seafood (plenty of salmon - I love salmon!). We all got on very well with lots of fun and laughter despite the huge age difference and fellow travellers from many different countries. I would travel with Cosmos and book through Global Journeys again.
Scenic Scandinavian Tour 4 , NSW, Australia, Sep 2019
Trip was great, sites amazing and Beatrix was a great tour leader. As I am 70, I was pleased the tour was no longer than 12 days, as the pace of the trip began to take its toll as it neared the end. On a whole the standard of the accommodation was only average, some places were good. The accommodation in Copenhagen was awful (my room at least), while ...read more the accommodation in Bromma was great. I thought it was a strange choice as it was close to the domestic terminal and everyone on tour was an international traveller.

The booking experience was efficient to a point. I found it strange that I booked through what was marked on the internet as Australian site for Globus/Cosmos. Georgie couldn’t have been more helpful but the optional extras had to be booked through another site which led to some confusion.
Norway and Sweden tour   2 , WA, Australia, Aug 2019
We had 42 on the coach with 28 Australians, 3 UK and 11 from the USA. It was a happy mix of people who’d travelled before all around the world. Quite a few had used Cosmos for other tours. The CosmosGO app was useful. We thought the tour covered many areas of the countries and it was interesting to include Telemark and the heavy water plant, connected ...read more to World War 2.
Amazing Fjords in Norway   2 , NSW, Australia, Jul 2019
An amazing, beautiful and unforgettable experience we had on the Focus on Scandinavia tour with Cosmos. The highlights were the Fjords in Norway and hassle free bookings with Global Journeys with the help of Yvonne. Sure we will plan for another trip soon. Our tour director Anna Losonczi and Csaba our tour driver did a wonderful job. Our tour went so ...read more smoothly. Thank you for all the job well done.
Fabulous Scandinavian tour   6 , NSW, Australia, Jun 2019
Just returned from a fabulous tour of Scandinavia. We did our entire booking online through Global Journeys and it went very smoothly, no hiccups and was really easy. The information we received regarding our tour was all inclusive and arrived in plenty of time to peruse carefully before leaving. We had no questions and no stress with this trip.

The ...read more trip itself was lovely. Our accommodation was very good, the tour coach was excellent and we were very well informed and looked after by our lovely tour guide. I felt like we saw a lot and with the extra optional tours and sufficient free time I feel like we missed nothing. It was a very satisfying trip, my third with Cosmos and definitely not my last.
Blessed to have my sight!   5 , VIC, Australia, May 2019
My husband and I have been so lucky to see and experience all that our tour provided. Each day was different, well planned and extremely enjoyable. Rosie, our tour guide was fabulous, with an excellent knowledge of all areas we travelled through. Kamil, our driver... no other words but extremely skilled. He was always polite and helpful.

The three ...read more countries we travelled through were all different, with Norway a stand out for us... simply stunning, and I felt blessed to have my sight! This was our third Cosmos tour and it won’t be our last! On finishing I would like to suggest that Cosmos vet their prospective tour members, if the tour is an English speaking tour... no English no go!
