Magical trip through Italy 2 , Australia, Aug 2015
What an experience! Italy is such a beautiful place. Our driver, Alberto and Tour Director, Kristina, went out of their way to ensure we had a great tour. We enjoyed the optional excursions and got to visit so many interesting places, sample local food, wine and meet so many locals. We were a bit disappointed with our four night accommodation and meals read more in Tuscany. The hotel was too far out from any town and we travelled over the same road for a few days. However, overall, we still had a great time and would recommend this tour to fellow travellers.
Enjoyed the trip from day one 1 The British Isles in Depth , QLD, Australia, Aug 2015
Enjoyed it from day one. Both tour guide and driver were excellent. To top it off we even got good weather!
Excellent job 4 Highlights of Route 66 , QLD, Australia, Aug 2015
My wife and I went on a 16 day Cosmos Route 66 tour from 28/08/2015 to 12/09/2015. The tour was organised by Global Journeys who did an excellent job. Overall the tour was as described. Our main complaint was the tour guide Francis Wray. It would have made a lot of sense to have a tour guide who could speak fluent English. Her annoying habit of leaving read more the "s" off plurals, the "ed" off past tense and omitting the first letter from many place names (Ollywood) combined with the PA system turned up to distortion made it virtually impossible for us and our fellow passengers to understand anything that she said. Also way too much useless information given at any one time and no pre warning when something interesting was coming up so we could be ready to take a photograph. Overall Francis was the most well meaning and incompetent tour guide we have ever experienced.
Would choose Cosmos again for my future travels 1 Trans-American Adventure , SA, Australia, Aug 2015
Emily Cran at Global Journeys had all my questions answered and travel documents arrived to me at a timely manner. Todd Asperger is an excellent Tour Director. He ensures everyone is treated fairly and happy. He is also a problem solver that puts everyone at ease. Craig is our very safe driver. He gave us the peace-of-mind with his excellent driving. read more Eddy (our New York local guide) and Marsha (our Arlington local guide) have wealth of knowledge in their fields. The whole trip is just amazing with plenty of free-time for me to do my own exploration. Some optional excursions are expensive. I would choose Cosmos again for my future travels.
Thoroughly enjoyed our tour 2 Trans-American Adventure , VIC, Australia, Aug 2015
Thoroughly enjoyed our tour. The trip covered vast distance and some great locations and cities. It's definitely value for money. The group size of 39 and all friendly people made the trip truly enjoyable. On top of that we had a fantastic tour director named Todd who was friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining. The driver Greg was super and skillful. read more I would recommend to my friends for the trip. Thanks Georgina at Global journeys for the smooth and efficient booking.
Views we saw and the history we learnt was fantastic 1 Irish Discovery , VIC, Australia, Aug 2015
I enjoyed it. The places we stopped at, the views we saw and the history we learnt was fantastic. I particularly loved the Giants Causeway, the Ring of Kerry, the Cliffs of Moher and Galway. I would recommend doing the optional extras that you are interested in doing. I enjoyed the tradional irish caberet dinner for the Irish dancing and comedian, the read more Titanic Quarter, Muckross House for the history, the Siamsa Tire National Folk Theatre performance to see some local performers and the Tamore pub evening for the sing-a-long. The tour was easy to book with responses from Global Journeys prompt. The bus driver George was funny and courteous. The tour guide Barbara was fantastic. She had so much knowledge and patience. I learnt a lot about the origin of the names of towns and not only past history but current events. The tour pace is quick. You have breakfast at 7pm and are in the coach ready to go at 8am or 8.30am until 5pm. If you do some of the optional extras at night it can be a long day. You get plenty of time to shop as well. You also make some good friends.
Would thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone 4 Highlights of Route 66 , NSW, Australia, Aug 2015
I went on this tour not really knowing a lot about the southern States of the USA. I can say after this tour I am well informed our tour director Barbara was a wealth of knowledge we visited many things during this tour would thoroughly recommend to anyone.
Cruise extension was superb 5 Alaska & the Yukon with Alaska Cruise , NSW, Australia, Aug 2015
Really enjoyed the tour of Alaska and especially the Yukon. The young Tour guide (MJ), did her best to entertain us all on the very long days between towns. found her stories and games very entertaining, helped past the time on the coach. What can I say about our driver (Lane), he was really great. His commentary and jokes were exceptional. About the read more tour itself, I would have preferred to pay a little extra for the tour to include breakfast at all the hotels/motels we stayed at. Also the rooms were nice and comfortable but not much space for two suit cases. Found this problem in most places we stayed. The Cruise extension was superb, I would give the ship a 6 star rating for the accommodation, food and entertainment. had a really enjoyable and relaxing voyage from Seward down to Vancouver.
Enjoyed it immensely 4 Alaska & the Yukon with Alaska Cruise , VIC, Australia, Aug 2015
Enjoyed it immensely. Especially the Alaska & Yukon section. Glacier viewing on cruise to Valdez was great. Saw some whales and seals as well. Saw some way out places.e.g. Tok and Dawson City - only place I've seen where a road grader runs along the main street. The narrated cruise at Fairbanks was very informative. Saw a fair bit of wild life on Denali read more tour. The white water rafting and White Pass Rail were both exciting. Hotels were generally of a high quality as long as you didn't expect too much in some remote places. Lack of breakfasts was a minor problem as most times we were directed to supermarkets where we could obtain supplies. The cruise down the inside passage was most enjoyable except for the change in the weather making going ashore a damp experience. On board entertainment was good. Cosmos provided transfer vouchers at the finish for people going back to hotel to join another tour. My only suggestion is that the initial meeting with tour leader should be more organised - i.e. all meet at a fixed time and not in dribs and drabs as people arrived at hotel. Took a long time to get through the information with a lot of repetition. Coach driver was well informed on Yukon and added to the commentary on many occasions.
Very happy with our holiday 1 , NZ, New Zealand, Aug 2015
Very happy with our holiday and are very likely to book again. It was well organised, the tour guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and excellent at communicating information. The included tours were good. Instead of the three islands included in the Agean cruise if just the Island of Santorini was offered more people would have gone.
Everywhere we went on this tour was spectacular 1 , SA, Australia, Aug 2015
Everywhere we went on this tour was spectacular. The only problem is the long days driving in the coach. There should be another day added when leaving Narvik to go to Lillehammer and then onto Gieranger Area. 520 and 480 kilometres respective was such a long haul. Lillehammer was a place I wanted to see especially the ski jump and when we got there read more at 4.20 everything shut at 4.30 and we only had 20 minutes before being taken to the hotel to do nothing? Scandic Hotels need to do an Undercover Boss. They have got to be the worst chain of hotels I have ever stayed in. Some were dirty, some they never made the beds the next day and some were noisy as hell. I would never stay personally in any of them myself and certainly would not recommend them to my friends. The other disappointing think was no meet and greet. The tour guide just introduced himself the next morning boarding the coach. A lot of people were disappointed in that. Also the seats on Cosmos are much smaller than the Globus bus so made it very squashy on the long days of travel. Some of the optionals were a total rip off.
Fantastic tour with a great tour guide 2 Spain, Portugal & Morocco , WA, Australia, Aug 2015
Absolutely fell in love with Spain. A fantastic tour with a great tour guide Vitor. Portugal was lovely and Morocco were on my bucket list. Great tour.
Enjoyed every minute of our holiday 1 Canadian Masterpiece with Rocky Mountaineer & Alaska Cruise , WA, Australia, Aug 2015
The coach tour guide was disappointing, short on information and had to be asked for it. Optional Excursions offered were good but unfortunately for variety of reasons 3 out of 4 were cancelled on us. The Coach driver was excellent as was the Train guide/chef. Holland America seems to have dropped it's standards and were not up to our last cruise with read more them in 2011. Paying for water and coffee seemed a bit over the top as was the cost of WIFI connection. Had already made a tentative booking with them for next year which we are reviewing. Having said that, and despite a few negatives we enjoyed every minute of our holiday. Thank you for all of your help Emily.
Wonderful tour guide 1 Highlights of Germany , NSW, Australia, Aug 2015
Our tour guide Tina was absolutely wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she was great company and we had good fun on optional excursions. Mauritzio our driver was excellent and also a fun person and always cheerful. The extra nights in Prague, Budapest and Vienna meant we could explore these cities on our own using local public transport read more which helped to give a "feel" for each city. The included sightseeing was well balanced with free time. The optional' Evening on a Boat' in Budapest is a must! To see the city buildings illuminated as you cruise along the river was unforgettable. The Czech and Hungarian optional dinners were fun evenings though our group felt that the final optional dinner in Munich was not worth the money especially as the location was not as advertised. In hindsight we should have missed a couple of optional excursions as we really enjoyed time just walking around and looking at what captured our imagination. Found Cosmos very good 3 , NSW, Australia, Aug 2015
First time with Cosmos and found them very good , but options could have been better. Will use them again in the future.
Cosmos always delivers value for money 1 , NZ, New Zealand, Aug 2015
Great trip. Cosmos always delivers value for money. Everything was first class. Would recommend trip to anyone interested in Germany.
Overall the trip was fabulous 7 Trans-American Adventure , QLD, Australia, Aug 2015
Overall the trip was fabulous - well planned and well timed. There were a few places we would have liked to spend more time, but guess it is hard to please everyone. The accommodation was good, with the exception of the two log cabins, that were far too small for the luggage for two people and the bathrooms were very small and pokey. We nearly froze read more overnight in the one at the Grand Canyon. Some of the hotels were generous with their personal products (shampoo, body lotion etc) while others were a bit stingy. We were left envelopes for tipping in a couple of the hotels, and were later told by our tour director that this was not necessary as all tipping was included. Not a big issue though, as it was only a couple. Our Tour Director was fantastic. He has obviously done his research and was able to present information on each location, as well as points of interest along the route, in a very informative and entertaining manner. He was patient, considerate and went out of his way to please everyone.

The driver of the coach was also fantastic. He was an excellent driver and very accommodating at all times. The coach was immaculately presented and cleaned every day to a high standard. Unfortunately, it took a while for the group (50) to gel - a suggestion would be to have a get-together on the first evening, and if every breakfast (or more dinners) were included, it would help to break the ice. Unfortunately, people split up and went their own way for the non-included meals. The group were a fun lot, comprised mainly of Australians plus some from UK and NZ. Our Tour Director organised a group pizza night at the Grand Canyon, which went over extremely well and set the pace for the rest of the tour. The highlight of the trip, regarding meals, was dinner at the John Smith Memorial Building in Salt Lake City. Top class venue and excellent meal - despite not being able to have a wine (or 3) and coffee! LOL On the whole, we thoroughly enjoyed the trip and I would certainly recommend it to anyone contemplating a trip to USA. Thanks for your organisation, Emily.
Great tour 1 Irish Discovery , VIC, Australia, Aug 2015
Great tour. I loved that I was able to see both Northern Ireland and Ireland all in the one tour. I especially enjoyed seeing the west coast with such amazing scenery. Carmel, our tour guide, was lovely and told us so much information that you wouldn't find in an ordinary guide book.
Enjoyed every minute of Edinburgh Tattoo 2 England, Scotland & Wales , WA, Australia, Aug 2015
We really enjoyed the whole trip, the weather was excellent for the time of year. The scenery was fantastic especially at the stops along the way. the main points of interest was certainly covered in England, Scotland & Wales. with a very knowledgeable tour director who also had a sense of humour. The excursions were well planned and also a lot of fun. read more The Edinburgh Tattoo was absolutely great, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I must say my booking was handled very well, and I would like to thank Georgie for it.
Overall an excellent trip 2 Highlights of Germany , VIC, Australia, Aug 2015
Excellent tour. Not a lot included - eg 2 dinners & generally only 1 walking tour per city (as well as hotels & breakfasts). A welcome dinner to meet everyone would be good. Disappointing that none of the optional cultural dinners ran as not enough people opted for them. Would have preferred more tours included perhaps. Overall an excellent trip though. read more Good mix of ages & nationalities. Hotels & tour guide Mladen were great. (Ed: Review based on slightly different itinerary.
