Shining Lights
Today, take a flight to Tromsø, the “Gateway to the Arctic.” On arrival join your Tour Director for an orientation walk that includes free time at the Arctic Cathedral for an independent visit. Later, enjoy free time to explore more or join an optional excursion to see the Northern Lights (weather permitting).
TOUR HIGHLIGHT - ICY ARCHITECTURE: The Arctic Cathedral stands proud at the end of Tromsø bridge, clearly visible from the centre of the town. Strip lights have been positioned between the 11 lamella panels that make up the church walls. When darkness falls, the church's unusual shape is visible from all parts of Tromsø to represent the light in the long, dark winter days.
Gateway to the North
A real treat today, with the chance to connect with the Sámi culture through a visit to a reindeer farm. Learn all about these gentle animals and the Sámi herding traditions. Meet the animals close up and try to feed them. Later, back in Tromsø, enjoy some free time.
