This was our second trip with Trafalgar. The tour was as expected and with the 2 night stopovers there was no real rush, although you can be a the coach for some hours. The places we visited were really good with lots to see and do. Granted you can't see all that's in a particular place but we were given enough time to see the main bits with and without read more the local guides.
The hotels were good, breakfasts were mostly pretty good and the dinners, when included, for the most part were good. The group of about 42 on the tour got on quite well. There were people from Australia, America, Arman, Bahamas as well as others, both single and couples. Some travelled in groups of four and three and they tendered for keep to themselves when at dinners and some events.
Overall this was a good tour at a good price. Yes, there were times it could have been better planned but some things are always out of the control of the tour operator or tour director.

Our trip with Insight Vacations was as good as expected! From the interaction with the local indigenous communities through activities at the Alaska Native Heritage Centre, our trip through the wilderness on the Alaska railroad dome train, being enthralled by the vista of Denali National Park with its abundant wildlife, our trip will remain embedded read more in our minds forever more. Our tour director Cole and driver Casey were a 1st Class combination adding to our Alaskan experience and the chosen accommodation was also outstanding!
We thoroughly enjoyed this 8 day tour. Our Tour Director James had a wonderful interesting knowledge of Ireland & its long history. He helped make the trip very enjoyable. Aidan our driver was very skilful at manoeuvring the coach around some very tight bends & was a safe careful driver. The accommodation was very good & clean, with very large rooms. read more The breakfasts included catered well for all people from different countries. The places visited were great with ample time to explore on our own. Overall we could not fault this tour & I highly recommend it.
We had a great trip with Insight and our booking with Global Journeys was great and all done professionally and they couldn’t do enough for us. This is the second time we have booked through Global Journeys and we would certainly use them again. Insight is great, this was our 4th trip with Insight and the people we toured with were so much fun, also read more the tour director was very knowledgeable The hotels are always great and Insight always try to make your trip very happy and safe.
The booking process through Global Journey's was faultless. Our Insight tour director, Karin and our driver Peter were exceptional. The coach was great, spacious and kept immaculately clean. The hotels were good except for Berlin which was very ordinary and in Prague the hotel was way out of town. The problem with Insight was that very little is included, read more e.g. in Berlin the tour was 90 minutes and finished by 10.30am everything else was optional and you had to pay to participate in the mid morning city tour. Similar in Warsaw, Krakow and Vienna. Some options included dinner, so OK, but not highlights of the city you are staying in for 1 day. We realised the extent of the optional experiences after we booked so never again.

This was our second tour with Insight Vacations. We booked both our tours through Global Journeys and would highly recommend them. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole tour, but for us the highlight was definitely the Edinburgh Tattoo, the reason we chose this tour. The accommodation was excellent as were the optional extras.

Hannah organised everything for us from the flights, tour and accommodation. We were kept well informed about a few changes and we didn’t need to worry about anything. The tour with Insight Vacations was exactly as described and we had an amazing tour guide, Dave, who was very knowledgeable about all the places we visited. Our bus driver, Jim, was also read more very good. I would definitely recommend this tour with Insight and booking through Global Journeys.

This was an excellent tour which was very well organised by our tour director Dave Neal. In early August, it included the Edinburgh Tattoo. If going at that time, also be aware that the Fringe Festival is on too. So Edinburgh was very crowded, but also lots to do & see. Most of the accommodation on the tour was very good, but a few were average. We read more had seen a lot of UK on our own, prior to this tour, but found new experiences in the places we revisited with the tour.
We added this tour onto the Essence of South Africa and so glad that we did. From start to finish we thoroughly enjoyed it. We travelled with our friends and were a group of 4. Victoria Falls is breathtaking and was an easy 5km walk along the track. At the Chobe River we saw herds of African animals from our river cruise and Safari drive. This is how read more I imagined Africa. Our Lodge was on the Zambezi River with magnificent views of the river and more wildlife. The accommodation and inclusive meals were 5* or more and nothing you asked for was too much trouble.

Everything went smoothly with Trafalgar, transfers, airport check in, accommodation and excursions. On the last day the Lodge arranged for us to go to the local village and school. This was so special. Thank you Trafalgar and Hannah at Global Journeys. I can’t wait to return to Africa.

This tour was a 3 star tour. Something in between the Trafalgar & Costsaver tour - not value for what we paid. The tour program was good. Hotels weren't good for the tour's value - it seems that some travellers were in favour to be accommodated in bigger rooms with better views. I would like to know who decides who stays in which room in particular read more in the hotel in St Moritz. Meals were OK but not anything special. Tour Guide was average- not committed enough. Tour driver was experienced and friendly. Number of Optional Tours were too many, some could be included in the tour package.
Our tour director was excellent and gave us a lot of information about Germany throughout the tour. The welcome dinner was disappointing in quality but the remaining included meals were much better. We had no complaints regarding the comfort or facilities provided by the hotels. The tour had three relaxed starts and just one very early start so wasn't read more too tiring. Our driver was very good and the coach comfortable with good leg room. Overall we enjoyed the tour and would use Insight and Global Journeys again.
The European Whirl is an unbelievable 12 day tour where you visit Europe’s most beautiful countries. This tour offers you the chance to indulge in each country’s culture and to visit all the main sites, along with free time for some solo exploring. Enjoyed all the places we visited, especially how we got priority as a tour group e.g. admission to the read more Vatican. Special dinners and venues were great. Quality of hotels was excellent.
Had a fantastic time on this tour, it is pretty rushed but that was to be expected trying to see so much within the 18 days. Tour guide (Howard) was very knowledgeable and well organised. Think it was an added bonus that there were only 27 people on the tour as there is sometimes up to 48 people, we had more room on the bus and I think you get to know read more the other people on the tour better with a smaller number. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see the main sites of Europe.
This tour went beyond my expectations. Accommodation, meals and tours were excellent and of a very high standard. The Safari Lodge and its surroundings were breathtaking. We were a small group of 6 and were looked after very well by Trafalgar. Informative guides who were knowledgeable when asked questions. I thought we would have 1 tour guide from start read more to finish, but ended up with 3. Our group were delighted to see the Big 5 on our Safari drives. Everything went smoothly - airport transfers, accommodation check in and excursions. Thank you for the memories.
Really enjoyed our trip. Our tour director was full of useful information and had a good sense of humour. Nothing was too much trouble. Highlights were Ireland, Stratford on Avon and the Edinburgh Tattoo. As an elderly traveller I would have appreciated more information about our first night in London as the hotel used by Trafalgar was too expensive.
This was my fourth trip with Trafalgar. This time I travelled with a friend. I chose to travel in the summer to enjoy the Butchart Gardens in all its glory. I was not disappointed as the day was sunny and bright and the beauty and scents around me were to be thoroughly enjoyed. Photos will bring me back many memories of the day. This is one of the highlights read more of the tour for sure. Another highlight was the chance to walk on a glacier, a first for me. Despite tentative steps on the slippery path, the sight was awesome and the majesty of the surrounding mountains almost overpowering.
Each place we visited during the nine days was unique. Our hotels were very central to surrounding shops and restaurants with the exception of the Kamloops accommodation. Unfortunately, though this was a very comfortable accommodation, it was in the middle of nowhere with not really anywhere much to walk and explore. Our hotel in Victoria was amazing... a suite with so much room. In all, the bedrooms in the hotels were enormous with clean, modern facilities. Exception being the Sawridge Inn in Jasper. This hotel was not very well maintained.
Our tour guide was not the best one I have encountered on previous trips with Trafalgar as the information shared with us was rather confusing leading to two of us becoming lost on our first day! Our driver was very experienced and I felt safe at all times in his care. I look forward to travelling again with Trafalgar in the future. I am usually a solo traveller and have always felt looked after.

Absolutely loved this tour. Our Tour Director Dan, was amazing. The added extras he included along the way from a ditty to local food just added to the already amazing trip. Dan's knowledge of the country/area we were visiting was extremely informative.
Our experience was great, Kassie Jones was great, the way she softly woke us up was something not expected, the patience she had was admirable, we had a great time, thank you.
