Country meets city the best of both worlds 10

This is a fantastic tour taking in the key sights throughout California. Highlights include the optional extra of flying over Grand Canyon, Old town San Diego, Yosemite National Park, San Francisco, and Vagas. We stayed in 4.5 star hotels and dined in some fabulous restaurants. The bus was mostly comfortable with stops every 1.5 to 2 hours in small read more city towns or rest stops. The tour guide was knowledgeable and happy to accommodate special requests where needed.
Professionally run tour. Great bunch of people. Tour leader and driver were great. I must say it was as i expected with Trafalgar.
The weather in August was fantastic but unfortunately it was school holidays and there were a lot of tourists everywhere we went. Most of our excursions were early so as to avoid the crowds which is great if you like getting up early. This trip involved a lot of long days traveling which I know is probably unavoidable but can be quite exhausting as read more well. Tour group and director were great and we certainly did see a lot and have same great experiences. Optional excursions were excellent and worth the money.

We had excellent accommodation. Our Travel Director Giovanna was a lovely knowledgeable young lady and nothing was too much of an effort for her. Our drive Jose was amazing. He was a very competent driver and the way he handled some of those winding roads was fantastic both my husband and I felt very safe. The only thing i was disappointed with was read more the optional excursion we chose which was the Flamenco dinner & show.
What a fantastic trip , so well organised by Trafalgar and a big thanks to Georgie Walpole for organising it. Everything worked like clockwork with Trafalgar.
he accommodation was very good, meals were good, breakfast every morning was amazing! Wifi at every place we stayed at as well, so at the end of the day we could all stay in touch with our read more family and upload all our photos to Facebook etc
I made some fantastic friends on this trip who I hope to catch up with very soon. Our tour guide Peter Ansell was amazing and had our best interest at heart all the time, especially security and making us check every morning before we left to check our bags for wallets, cameras and most of all our passports. Our coach was beautiful, it was only 4 months old and also had Wifi. Our driver Marco, who was italian (& spoke very little English) was an amazing driver and a real gentlemen.
I personally found that this trip was long enough, as it is extremely fast paced, not for the person who wants to sleep in every morning, but rather for those who wants to lot's to see and do. I am very glad I did not choose a shorter tour though, as I would have missed so much, and I probably won't get to do it again. I added 3 days in London at the start of my trip and 2 days at the end to take in the London sights, which was all organised for me by Georgie. Some people flew in the day before and were suffering jet lag at the beginning of the trip, which was a really bad start to their holiday.
Over all this trip was amazing , and now I look back at my photos , I can almost feel myself standing up in the Eiffel Tower, or in the alps in Switzerland, or sipping champagne at Sorrento as the sun goes down. Thank you Trafalgar!

Edinburgh Military Tattoo show is the highlight of trip. Ticket price was £43 (very cheap) and got Row 5 L. I suggested to upgrade for a better closer rows and seats with higher price. Shopping / Taxi fare/ restaurant are good and affordable, much cheaper than Oz. Weather is good and cool but warm and stuffy in hotel rooms and got no air conditioning read more in Ireland hotels. The worst experience was in Dunollie Hotel in Scotland. The carpet seemed to be recently disinfected or chemically treated. The smell was terrible. Staff did not help to change another room stating no more vacancy. I was suffocated for the first couple of hours. Culloden Estate was fantastic. Drivers are good. Walking tours are pricey. Fish & chips are surprisingly so average. Being from Oz, scenery - sheep, cattle, grass, mountains are not much different ( after touring experience in at least 38 countries) but always good to see and experience. Our travel agent Georgie was excellent, very prompt and helpful.

1. The payment for the Optional Experiences was confirmed prior to travel via 3 sources to be deducted in Pounds Sterling. We loaded up funds on out Travel Card accordingly. However the Tour Director (Luke) was only given an Eftpos machine to process Euros. This would have meant a cost for us in the exchange read more rate. We therefore had to extract cash in Pounds to make the payment.
2. Some of the Hotels didn't supply face cloths for showering....very inconvenient.
3. The bed coverings supplied (usually a doona) were often inappropriate (too much) for the warmth of the hotel rooms. Many of us had to resort to open windows (if at all possible) or requesting fans to obtain a suitable level of comfort.

The 14 day tour starts in Dublin and we opted to get there a couple of days earlier as there were other things we wished to see and do that were not included in the tour. I would recommend the Guinness Storehouse tour and the Temple bar district. Just be aware that some of the sites are only 'viewed' from the outside and may not actually 'visited'. read more eg St Patrick's cathedral. The people and sites around Ireland were great. The weather is not always kind and our tour around the Ring of Kerry was marred by heavy cloud and rain. Oh well, you can't control he weather.
The Giants Causeway was a highlight and then onto Northern Ireland. Scotland was terrific, Isle of Skye, Loch Lomond, Loch Ness and St Andrews are beautiful. We visited Eilean Donan castle and whilst a tour inside is not included you can buy a ticket and race through during the 30 minute stop-over. Edinburgh is a beautiful city and we were lucky enough to have the Edinburgh Tattoo included. The Tour Director, Luke, was terrific and was very attentive to everyone's needs. Overall I would recommend the tour but like most trips of this type there are visits to commercial venues that may not be of much interest and many of the more interesting or enjoyable activities are 'optional'. that said, the overall cost is pretty competitive and good value.

We did this tour in August 2017, the first guided coach tour we have ever done. We enjoyed this so much we will be using Trafalgar again for our next tour of Eastern Europe. The pace was good, sightseeing was as good as we would expect with no fuss or stress... with some great options... and the tour director and coach drivers were amazing. Thanks Trafalgar.
This is the 2nd time I have booked Trafalgar with Global Journeys. Both trips arranged by Yvonne have been trouble free. Mike from Trafalgar made sure we had a great trip around Hawaii.

Rome and Tuscan Highlights

Despite it being a slow paced tour there were some early starts and there is a lot of walking. There were a few on the tour who could not cope with the amount of walking (which was compounded by the August heat). For the price of the tour and length there should not have been two full days that Trafalgar did not include some sort of sightseeing as part read more of the day, you were expected to go to on the optionals. On the last day in Montecatini there should have been an included excursion up to Montecatini Alto and therefore you had the choice of also going to Lucca in the afternoon as an optional.
I was surprised the amount of people on the tour who chose this for their first trip to Italy. The included tour of Rome missed many sights such as the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and many more. Trafalgar should not use such a small hotel for the first night in Rome having two large groups stay causing chaos in the morning for breakfast. Also the last hotel used was in the middle of nowhere (it was chosen for proximity to the airport) which did not allow travellers the option of sightseeing some more on their own during any free time.
I was surprised the amount of people on the tour who chose this for their first trip to Italy. I had a few fears about being on a bus with a gaggle of strangers for 29 days, but what a great bunch of fellow travellers. The tour director was excellent and very experienced. Nearly everything was done - the only responsibility I had was to have my bum on a seat at a nominated time. It is a long tour. i doubted myself in that I could make it - but read more then it was ending too soon!
We were on the go from day one. The 4:30 am start out of London was a surprise. This is a pretty fast paced tour and I enjoyed every bit of it. We were on the go from day one. There were several hotels a bit out of the city although I took all the options and so that was not really a problem for me. (There was a bug going around and I did need to return to the hotel. I was going to have to find my own way back but our tour driver was awesome and took a few of us back.)
I learnt heaps on this trip, visited some amazing places and great people.
Tour guides took us around all the major cities and they knew their stuff. Airport transfers and Eurostar train option were organised and pretty much went like clockwork. I took this tour because it included Athens and also a three day Greek Island Cruise as an option. In looking back, it was a good choice. I was happy to return home satisfied I had more than enough away from home.
I was given advice that Mourlin Rouge was not worth going to. My advice - don't miss out because of someone else's opinion - I thought it was great and I am glad I did not miss it. This could apply to 99% of the Trafalgar optionals.

Trafalgar tour was great value with great places visited such as Lisbon, Cascais and Porto. Accommodation was excellent overall, nice hotels in good locations, good breakfasts and facilities. Majority of fellow travellers were retirees, kept to themselves, the only drawback. Hannah at Global Journeys was great, provided excellent service, helpful and read more prompt to answer questions, would definitely recommend and use again despite living in a different state. The Lakes and Bath were stunning. The military Tattoo was mind blowing. The weather held and it was an awesome evening of performances. Disappointed in Ireland as it was very wet and too much on past history. And too many festivals we came across, leaving out some of our scheduled add ons. Weather can't be helped, and people should read what is expected read more in the itinerary with regards to the amount of for walking and steps to ensure they can stay with the flow.
Everything is dealt with so you can sit back and go with the flow. A packed tour with an amazing number of things included. Struggled with information overload and no time to chill.
The Trafalgar Bohemian Highlights tour was outstanding. From the start, the Tour Director, Jon O'Reilly was both professional and personable with all members of the group. Our driver, Christof, got us to all locations on time and assisted with those needing help to alight from the bus as well as delivering our bags to the lobby on arrival.
All hotels read more that we stayed in were superb. The cities that were visited on the itinerary were breath-taking and although we only stayed for 2 days in each, it made you want to go back for more. The optional tours were excellent and a lot of fun. While the inclusions were outstanding and brought the group together more. I travelled as a solo but made many friends with both other solo travellers or other couples. There was a good range of Australian and overseas people on the tour.
My favourite destinations were Berlin, Budapest, Vienna and Prague. I will definitely be travelling with Trafalgar again. Their organisation and accessibility into the prominent sights is superb and you will always attain value for money on their tours.

It was a great experience.
We had a very interesting trip with pleasant companions, a delightful, diligent guide and a careful bus driver. We enjoyed the tour through England and Scotland with comfortable accommodation and luxurious breakfasts. The stops at historical or picturesque sites were well chosen and we appreciated the information about them from the guide, the relevant read more 'funnies' and tastings (shortbread, fudge, whisky/ local soft drink) passed around and music related to the area.
Everything is taken care of when you travel with a tour company. No need to worry about missing trains or carrying heavy suitcases. You have enough time to look around each place you stop. Touring with new friends you meet was my highlight. Global Journeys took care of everything, highly recommend this company. They keep you informed. Jemma was very professional.
This was a really great tour. I enjoyed the various places we visited in Denmark, the incredible scenery in Norway and the tours of interesting places in Stockholm. Everything went without a hitch, from the booking with Global Journeys to the travel with Trafalgar.

We loved this tour and the Maritime cruise at the end was relaxing. It was interesting exploring the French area of Canada and the towns and restaurants were excellent.
