Once in a lifetime trip 14 Alaska & the Yukon , NSW, Australia, Aug 2017
The highlights of our trip included the 200 Km boat trip from Whittier to Valdez on an 83 foot catamaran and whilst we had winds up to 60 km per hour the Captain adjusted the boat speed and it was a very smooth ride and there were no signs of sea sickness on the boat.

Other highlights included the optional White Pass railway trip which is a must read more do, this Cosmos trip is the only trip that does this. The train trip from Fairbanks to Denali National Park was in a glass top train with an outside viewing position available for photographs was also very good. Hotels are 2 to 3 stars and the reason for this is this trip goes into remote areas that have limited hotels available. Getting to Anchorage the best way is to fly to Hawaii then overnight with Alaskan Airlines from Honolulu to Anchorage.
Fascinating trip through beautiful cities of Central Europe   6 Central Europe , NSW, Australia, Aug 2017
The Central Europe tour was wonderful and all the cities visited were beautiful, interesting, so full of history and difficult to pick a favourite - would love to see them all again! Our tour guide Tina was great as was our coach driver Francesco and the coach was very clean and comfortable - needed to be on the long days driving between cities! The read more tour pace was very hectic to cover the large territory in the time allocated. Arrival into most cities was late afternoon, followed by early departures so realistically we only had a day at best - with shorter stays in Vienna and Munich! Perhaps Cosmos should cut Vienna or Munich from the itinerary as the stays in both are very short and hotels so far out of the city it is difficult for passengers to maximise the limited time available in both cities. The hotels in both Vienna & Munich should be changed as really out of the way, limited facilities and very little nearby - Vienna hotel is particularly bad!

Why do Cosmos start the tour in one hotel in Frankfurt and end in another? The hotel in Frankfurt at start of tour was good, well located within easy access to the city, train station and airport, with restaurants & shopping nearby. However hotel at end of tour was so far out of town and twice the distance from the airport and made it more difficult (and expensive) for passengers making onward connections - a let down at the end of the tour!

This is the 3rd time I have booked with Global Journeys and 3rd Cosmos tour I have been on and it lived up to expectations (except hotels as mentioned above) and I would travel with them again. Jemma at Global Journeys was helpful and I would not hesitate to recommend to my friends.
Just loved it. 6 , VIC, Australia, Aug 2017
We had amazing time, so sad to be home. Patrisha our Gide was great, Flávio our bus driver we all loved. Our hotels were pretty good and breakfasts were great in most places. Dinners were OK too. I think we got good value for money and we would do it again. Just loved it.
Fantastic Trip   27 Canadian Masterpiece with Rocky Mountaineer & Alaska Cruise , New Zealand, Aug 2017
There were two main highlights of our trip - Rocky Mountaineer and the glaciers in Glacier Bay. The Rocky Mountaineer is an extremely well run trip (2 days) from the welcome and departure, to the commentary, food, beverages and excellent service. This two day trip is a great introduction to the Canadian landscape and the works undertaken by the pioneers read more in establishing the railway through BC.

The cruise through the inside passage and the time at Glacier Bay, watching and hearing the ice crash into the sea was an experience not to be missed. The cruise (run by Holland America on the Volendam) surpassed our expectations - a very well run organisation that could not do enough to make the cruise an excellent experience.

The Cosmos coach trip gave us a good introduction to this (BC) part of Canada although we felt that some of the hotels were a little sub-standard and that component of the trip should be reviewed. Also we felt that the trip was a little rushed and could benefit from two nights at more of the places visited - for example after arriving early evening at Whistler from Sun Peaks (a long bus ride) we had to leave early the next morning to catch the ferry to Victoria, Vancouver Island, and everyone felt they did not really get a chance to have a good look at Whistler. Overall it was a fantastic trip and we have no hesitation in recommending this combination.

We thank Leanne for a great job in organising our trip - nothing was a problem and all the arrangements worked well - thank you Leanne.
Such a well organised, worry free fabulous holiday 10 Trans-American Adventure , ACT, Australia, Aug 2017
Although we have travelled extensively in Australia and overseas this was our first coach trip so we can't compare it to any others. It was everything we hoped for. We found Madeleine, who was our contact from Global Journeys, extremely efficient and answered all our texts promptly and a pleasure to speak to by phone as we are in Canberra and she's read more in Noosa. Our paperwork done we headed off on our adventure.

We arrived in New York via Dallas and glad we had booked ourselves a couple of extra days in the Skyline hotel before the tour began just to get over the long flight and a chance to book ourselves on the Hop On and Off bus and to get a taste of New York. Our tour guide on the brand new Cosmos coach was Doris and driver Wayne. Both delightful people and ever so helpful. Doris kept us entertained in the coach with number plate bingo, collecting quarters from all 50 states, and showing information videos/movies regarding the states we were travelling in. Our luggage was so well organised, it was placed in our room on arrival and picked up from our rooms at departure time. Doris and Wayne were brilliant at organising this.

The accommodation was very good apart from one cabin in Cody where I detected a bad smell and it seemed rabbits were under lots of cabins. All other accommodations were around 4 stars and were clean and well presented often Best Western and there was always a laundry available very useful for such a long trip..apart from Las Vegas and LA.

Every day was awesome, sit back and relax and enjoy the view, hassle free. Our fellow passengers, from Oz, NZ and UK were great company. On arrival in Hawaii we were picked up and taken to the Princess Kaiulani Hotel (well needed laundry available). We met with Robey, the Cosmos rep who was helpful and gave us maps and general advice about Honolulu and had arranged our departure shuttle. We had been to Honolulu twice before so we just needed to relax, chill out and enjoy. We would recommend this tour if you love a new road adventure.
Irish interlude 2 Irish Discovery , WA, Australia, Aug 2017
Good value tour. Great tour guide, very knowledgeable and thank goodness for two brilliant drivers. We enjoyed the whole tour, the sights and all the special events and the Guinness was great!!!
Super holiday with beautiful scenery and fun optional excursions   3 Highlights of Germany , New Zealand, Aug 2017
I joined this tour the day it came over into Europe and not at the beginning in London. The first couple of days we saw some beautiful scenery and visited some lovely little towns however it was very tiring due to long distances and only overnight stays. After this there were 2 night stays everywhere which was a lot better. On the whole I found the read more accommodation very good apart from the hotel in Berlin which had no air conditioning while we were there.

The Hungarian tour director was amazing. She could speak a little bit of most languages in the countries we visited and was very knowledgeable about the places we went to. She also tried to give us free time where the schedule permitted. Most of the local guides were also very good. Overall I feel the tour was good value for money and provided what was advertised. I got a taste of the culture and history of some of Europe's Imperial Capitals in a short period of time. (Ed: Review based on slightly different itinerary. Trip name and itinerary updated this season)
Great fantastic, just fabulous 16 Canadian Masterpiece with Rocky Mountaineer & Alaska Cruise , NSW, Australia, Aug 2017
June and I thoroughly enjoyed our journey. The Rocky Mountaineer was great even in Silver Leaf...staff were terrific and food...tooooo much but lovely. The hotels may not have been 5 star but clean, excellent mattresses and best of all...a hot shower at every venue. Our Tour director, Gamael and our driver Jon were great. Some times our stays at places read more were short and some times the starts were a bit early, but what we received in return was well worth it. Scenery everywhere was picture postcard. A very thorough tour showcasing the Rocky Mountains

The cruise on the Volendam was fantastic...Again staff and food very very good. Had a minor hiccup with my onboard billing but will hopefully sort it out soon. Again the scenery on the cruise was fantastic. Glacier Bay, watching and hearing a glacier calving, once in a lifetime opportunity. Some of the shore excursions were quite expensive booking from the ship as we found the same ones at the destination almost half price. If you do the Rocky Mountaineer..don't eat for at least three days before hand...lol.
10 Day Heart of the Canadian Rockies   7 Heart of the Canadian Rockies , SA, Australia, Aug 2017
Wonderful highlights - Banff, saw bear cubs running across the road. Lake Louise and Columbia Icefields - awesome. Each day became more awesome. Maligne Lake and Athabasca Glacier, spectacular! Day 6 and 7 are extremely long days on the coach, but we did love the visit to the town of Hope where Slyvester Stallone made Rambo First Blood. Would have read more loved to stay and seen all the sites. We even saw the Rocky Mountaineer running beside us in certain spots along the way.

Global Journeys have made an interesting holiday at a reasonable price. It is a shame that no breakfasts are supplied as some of us need something to get us moving in the mornings. The accommodation in places was excellent in most places. Wonderful trip with great memories.
No wonder this tour is popular   15 Canadian Masterpiece with Rocky Mountaineer & Alaska Cruise , WA, Australia, Aug 2017
This was the first of 3 tours we (myself, my husband, and another couple) joined - 2 with Cosmos and 1 with Globus. All were fantastic. Budget was a consideration for us, but by booking early and eligible for some discounts, we were able to stretch the budget to be away for almost 7 weeks and we didn't miss out on doing anything! We prepaid as much read more as possible, so only needed to pay for food/optional tours/spending whilst on the tours. I chose Cosmos as it allowed enough free time within the tours to do our own thing and seemed to offer much the same as more expensive tours.

We took advantage of the optional tours that included a meal (always fun outings); and enjoyed the opportunity to find our own eating places (all taken into consideration as part of our budget). We chose the Silverleaf class on Rocky Mountaineer, but upgraded to outside cabin instead (good decision).

Tour Director Gemmel was delightful and informative, always making sure we were given enough information without boring everyone. Jon our driver - fantastic! Exceptionally careful driver, always well groomed and coach kept immaculate. Pace was good, and we found accommodation very good. It was also great that after 2 weeks together on the coach, it was lovely to join the Alaskan cruise and travel with 40 new friends, We were lucky weatherwise as we had no rain except for a light shower in Juneau (and the good weather followed us for the entire 7 weeks!!) My thanks to Hannah at Global Journeys as she was very efficient and quick to respond to any of my queries. Highly recommended!
Greece and the Aegan 2 Greece & Aegean Islands Cruise , VIC, Australia, Aug 2017
Greece is a fabulous, vibrant country that this tour shows off to its best advantage. Visits to ancient sites, unique cultural experiences and relaxing fun in the Greek islands made for a great holiday. Tour guides were fabulous with a great sense of humour combined with encyclopedic knowledge of their topics. Highly recommend the tour.
Great tour, saw so much in short time   9 New York City, Niagara Falls & Washington DC with Extended Stay in New York City , New Zealand, Aug 2017
Even though 8 days isn't long for the places we visited we saw so much due to great organization by Cosmos and the efficiency of France our tour director who had to oversee 47 passengers and Steve our driver who got us smoothly to our destinations and looked after our bags at each hotel. There were a couple of long trips between places but made easier read more with several breaks on the way.

Our favourite place was Niagara Falls , which were totally amazing and right in town. We went out on the boat right up to them and had a lovely dinner at the top of the revolving restaurant, Skylon which had stunning views of the Falls (photo attached).

New York just like you expect from watching movies =, busy with a lot of traffic and people. The mass of buildings with beautiful architecture was really interesting to see on our morning tour which was really informative with a great local guide
Great tour around Washington seeing The White House , The John F Kennedy Centre , Capitol Hill , The beautiful Art Gallery and the Arlington National Cemetery where returned soldiers and John and Jackie Kennedy are buried.

We went in mid August and the weather was perfect ,warm with sunny skies every day. We took all the optional tours available which were great , the only disappointing one being the horse and carriage tour in Philadelphia which turned out to be a horse and cart for half of us as they didn't have enough carriages for a large group We felt they could have done 2 different times and wouldn't have gone if we had known we would end up in a cart. Apart from that it was an awesome tour and even though a large group we all got along fine.
Excellent trip   8 The Canadian Rockies with Alaska Cruise , QLD, Australia, Aug 2017
We had a fantastic tour director in Kacey, he was calm witty and full of information. Our driver Steve was a great driver and very careful. Banff , Lake Louise Sun peaks and Whistler were fantastic with great accommodation (Jasper was the only disappointment - the hotel was a big walk out of town and needs refurbishing but the breakfast was good). read more Steve and Kacey took us around the town to familiarise us with the places which was fantastic, Can't say enough about them they were fantastic. Holland American cruise was out of this world.
Covered some miles but an awesome sock dropping experience 10 Exploring America's National Parks , NSW, Australia, Aug 2017
We were part of a large 49 member tour group but we were comfortably seated in an almost brand new coach. Our driver, David, was excellent. Our guide, Steve, was an enthusiastic experienced guide who kept us entertained each day. We certainly travelled extensively through 5-6 States and saw a lot of country which was enjoyable.

What I wanted from read more the tour was to see some of the great natural landscapes - Black Hills of Dakota; Yellowstone; Grand Tetons, Zion, Bryce Canyon and the Grand Canyon. They did not disappoint and far exceeded my expectations. The accommodation providers varied; but overall, the only place I didn't like was Harrah's in Las Vegas. The highlight for me was walking around the rim of the Grand Canyon for 3-4 hours one afternoon enjoying the scenery, ravens and solitude. For my husband, he hasn't stopped talking about the Antelope Canyon in Page near Lake Powell. He would love to have another look.
Efren and Liza trans America tour 2107   10 Trans-American Adventure , NSW, Australia, Aug 2017
We had a dream of a lifetime tour. From planning this holiday with Georgie to the end of the holiday. Jason Capalongo our tour director was amazing and knowledgeable. Darryl our driver was super kind and careful. The places we’ve seen is mine boggling. Will tour with cosmos again. DEFINITELY. thanks Georgie.
Wonderfull Alpine adventure 2 Alpine Adventure, Bernina & Glacier Express , VIC, Australia, Aug 2017
It was nice but not perfect, we had a few bad hotels, and the included dinners very poor choices - except one. Also a few did not have wifi. And some hotels were to far from the city, restaurants and shops. Tour guide was exceptional and coach driver as well, they made our trip more enjoyable. In St Moritz the hotel offered us free travel tickets an read more all public transport including cable cars - it was fantastic, considering that everything is so expensive there. In my personal opinion, the local tour guides, are a waste of money and time. Would be better to do a tour with the couch, giving out some maps and relevant info and free time to visit wherever you are interested in. Well organised tour, not rushed, we did enjoy it a lot! I would travel any time with Cosmos!
Thank you Yvonne and Global Journeys for organising my trip. 4 The Best of Spain & Portugal , WA, Australia, Aug 2017
Although I have been on many organised overseas trips , I had never before booked with an online agent. I have to say my worries were unnecessary. Global Journeys and especially Yvonne Brooks made it all simple, and everything went smoothly with our booking. Any worries or questions, email or phone, and it is answered/resolved quickly & promptly. There read more was no extra effort required on my part as compared to using the traditional shop based travel agent. The bonus is the great discount we got from Global Journeys. We had a most interesting trip to Spain and Portugal on our Cosmos trip. Tip: We went at the middle of August and it was really hot. Try September if you can. Thank you Yvonne.
Alpine adventure 1 Alpine Adventure, Bernina & Glacier Express , QLD, Australia, Aug 2017
Overall a great tour with the most amazing scenery. The wifi on the coach was not quite adequate, but at least the tour guide let us know in advance. We were lucky with the weather which made a big difference. I would do this tour again in the future.
Dracula sighting 6 Treasures of the Balkans & Transylvania , NSW, Australia, Aug 2017
Nice paced tour with not too many early starts. Hotels were extremely good for a Cosmos tour. A good amount of free time to explore the towns.
An enjoyable holiday experience 7 England, Scotland & Wales , VIC, Australia, Aug 2017
This was an enjoyable holiday experience. Travelling at the time of the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and seeing this was fantastic. Our tour guide, John, and our bus driver, Peter, were both excellent. The tour accommodation ranged from really good to poor. This is what you get with a tour where 3-4 star hotels are the accommodation. You see a lot read more in a short period of time. This is a good way to see highlights and then work out what you would really like to see more of if you return.
