Quick trip through Cambodia   , NSW, Australia, Feb 2023
Tour leader Hoa was awesome! She was professional, gave great advice for meals not included and went above and beyond when a traveller fell ill. My advice is to arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at least 1 day earlier and visit the Cu Chi tunnels. There are plenty of places to exchange currency in all 3 countries. Word of advice for Cambodia, they use US currency ...read more but will only accept clean, crisp notes. One note was rejected because it had a tiny tear. Food is fantastic and so cheap! Get a massage in your free time and don't forget pub street on Siem Reap. Do not do this tour if you don't travel well in long car rides - the drive to Bangkok was 10 hours in a van. Overall a great holiday, and highly recommended.
Very disappointed in the organisation of this Topdeck tour.   , NSW , Australia, Feb 2023
Topdeck should take more care in who they use as their travel guides. Our daughter and the group were put into very dangerous situations in a country most have never visited and events (especially to girls travelling alone) are not up to me to list. Hopefully Topdeck do something about this! Woken up at 3am to get to a flight that we have since found ...read more out was cancelled 5 days beforehand but was not checked throwing the advertised itinerary into disarray. Contacted Topdeck Australia but was told to contact the UK office but never returned my emails. This tour should be thoroughly investigated, the groups reviews should be acknowledged and compensation should be offered as it was not near the standard you would expect by using a company such as Topdeck.
A wonderful insight to the history of Vietnam and Cambodia   , VIC, Australia, Dec 2022
This was our first river cruise and was a wonderful experience. Thanks to Hannah at Global Journeys and the helpful, attentive and friendly guides and crew. Oh so much better than a large cruise ship. The itinerary was varied and encompassed some truly magical spots, the varied cultures and history of the region, even if it was confronting from time ...read more to time. Top marks to Emerald!
Nice small group cruise   , QLD, Australia, Jan 2020
This cruise is really well organised and goes where a lot of the bigger cruise boats do not go. G Adventures supports small local operators for their day trips and this was evident in a number of places as other tourists were not to be seen e.g. brick making, mule ride, hand made pottery, lunch at training restaurant, etc. Tour Leader (or Chief Experience ...read more Officer, CEO, as they are officially called) was very helpful and efficient especially when I had an unexpected trip to hospital. The cabins are a reasonable size for a small boat and there is a great sun deck upstairs which could be used anytime. Staff were helpful and most spoke enough English to be understood. Food was simple, varied and plentiful. Dinner was 4 course and special diets catered for, breakfast was a hot and cold buffet with your choice of cooked eggs, so plenty of options. Omelettes were best I’ve had. Would certainly travel with them again.
