What our clients are saying about their tours of Sri Lanka
“Exciting trip in Sri Lanka”
We have just arrived home from our 17 day trip with Bunnik to Sri Lanka, an amazing country with so much history. Our guide Priya was very knowledgeable, entertaining and made us very much at home in his beautiful country. Our group of 17 was very compatible and the bus we travelled in was an excellent size which gave us all plenty of room to move around seats to view the countryside. Hotels were excellent and the meals, what can you say, the very best of Sri Lankan cooking especially the locals ...read more that opened up their houses to prepare beautiful curries from their home grown ingredients. Staying at Yala National Park was one of the highlights with seeing so much of the wildlife and the skill of the Jeep drivers. Other highlights were climbing Lion Rock and the history surrounding the palace built on the top, the train trip from Nuwara Eliya through the tea plantations and learning so much about the history of this magnificent island. A very well organised trip by Global Journeys, Bunnik and our guide Priya, thank you.
“Thoroughly enjoyable Sri Lanka tour”
We thoroughly enjoyed this trip. Some of the hotels were magnificent especially the one at Yala National Park. Some of the hotels were dated and needed renovations, all were comfortable. I think this tour had been outsourced as usually with Travelmarvel most meals and accompanying drinks are included and some people were irritated by having to buy their meals. More emphasis needed to be placed on the fitness level required as some of our group were certainly not up to climbing the number of steps ...read more at some sights.
“You've got to visit Sri Lanka!”
What might be helpful is to provide a map of Sri Lanka as part of the pack. We often found ourselves looking at maps at the train stations and others, trying to track our movements on the tour, and what the terrain looked like. Leech socks were useful, and were provided by Explore. We took gaiters, because we had trouble sourcing them in Australia, and as it turned out we didn't need to take them. We would recommend that leech socks be provided by Explore as standard. (Review provided by Explore ...read more Worldwide.)
“Would recommend Explore to others.”
Really enjoyed our tip and would recommend Explore to others but maybe they need to emphasise the need to bring appropriate clothing for temple visits in the travel notes. i.e. tops that cover shoulders and bottoms that cover the knees and socks to protect feet from the hot paving.
