Wonderful tour enhanced by a superb Tour Guide   2 , QLD, Australia, Sep 2018
We travelled on the Best of Spain tour in late September/early October with six other Australians and thirty one Americans. We enjoyed this tour immensely as, for us, it was a perfect length - not too long and not too short. Overall it was quite leisurely but, even when there were strict times to be observed, our tour guide gave a feeling of no rush. ...read more He was absolutely amazing - kind, helpful, organised, extremely informative, funny and inclusive. We saw some amazing sights and beautiful cities with excellent local tour guides. Rui, however, was always there overseeing everything and ensuring that every person on our tour was looked after. We also had a kind and lovely coach driver, Andreas, who drove us from city to city with utmost care. The coach was so comfortable.

The hotels were excellent with the exception of the HCC St. Moritz in Barcelona where we felt that the staff were rather abrupt and the room was a little dusty. It was in a wonderful location, however, as were all of our hotels. Included meals were very good and we got ample opportunity to experience the local cuisine. The Optional Tours are well worth doing, in particular, Toledo and Montserrat. We were fortunate in that everyone on our tour got along very well largely due to Rui’s encouragement and positive approach and we all kept healthy which was a bonus. I would highly recommend this tour for a taste of southern Spain. Many thanks to Hannah for once again doing all arrangements for this tour in a highly professional yet friendly manner. We could not speak more highly of both Globus and Hannah at Global Journeys based upon this tour.
Sensational trip to America's Great Parks     6 , NSW, Australia, Sep 2018
The trip was sensational. We experienced warm days with blue skies and cool snowy days in Yellowstone. Seeing the park draped in snow was amazing. Our tour director Andrew and our driver Courtney were exceptional. The arrangements by Global Journeys and Globus were seamless.
Exploring America's Great Parks with Las Vegas Extension     2 , VIC, Australia, Sep 2018
What a wonderful tour this was! The scenery was absolutely stunning and so varied, from the bright lights of Las Vegas to the beauty of the Grand and Bryce Canyons, Monument Valley, Yellowstone National Park and the stunning beauty of the Grand Tetons, plus many, many more places we visited.

The temperatures varied from about 40deg C in Las Vegas ...read more to -2deg C in Yellowstone. It snowed the two days we were in Yellowstone, which only added to the beauty of this amazing National Park. The temperatures for the majority of the tour were very comfortable.

I have travelled with Globus many times in the past, and once again they didn't let me down. It was another great tour and the people on the tour were so friendly. Thank you once again Madeline for helping to organise this tour for me. Your patience in answering all of my questions and promptness with all information regarding this booking was very much appreciated. I can highly recommend this tour, as well as recommend booking with Global Journeys.
Amazing autumn colour of foliage and beautiful small towns     0 , QLD, Australia, Sep 2018
We booked our trip with Global Journeys and toured with Globus and have booked with Georgie for all our trips and find her to be quick to give you the best price. To be very thorough in checking our itinerary to make sure we have thought of everything. As for the trip it was totally amazing such colour and Niagara Falls Wow, the Cruise up around Nova ...read more Scotia and back to Boston was fantastic. I would recommend it to anyone.
Memorable trip to Italy   2 , NSW, Australia, Sep 2018
I had a wonderful time in Italy! Global Journeys had everything organised from pickup at Rome airport to departure from Venice. Thereafter, nothing to worry about, except to stick to the tour guide or have the tour director‘s phone number with you - just in case you wandered off and found that you have lost the group. Hearty breakfast every morning, ...read more and then ‘where are we going today’. Rome (audience with the Pope), Assisi, Florence, Siena, Padua and Venice were amazing. We were very lucky to have Alexandro as our attentive & patient tour director, and Neno as our safe driver! Highly recommended! Plan to visit Italy again.
Very busy tour of Italy     2 , QLD, Australia, Sep 2018
Great tour of Italy, loved staying at Murano Island and being able to visit Venice at night, not as many tourists at night. Was a very busy tour, I would recommend travellers to not book all the optional tours as it makes life too busy. Tour guide and coach driver were amazing.
In the footsteps of the Apostle Paul     2 , VIC, Australia, Sep 2018
This was a very well organised trip from the booking right through to the journey home. Everything ran like clockwork. The guides were well informed and were able to impart their knowledge with interest. The hotels were excellent and the employees could not do enough for you. The trip was well paced and I saw a lot in a short time, yet I never felt ...read more rushed. Being in a group meant that we missed the long queues and the crowds.
Review of The Sicilian   7 , VIC, Australia, Sep 2018
We enjoyed the tour immensely, everything went smoothly. Would highly recommend this tour if you want to see Sicily. Our tour director Giovanna and coach driver Franci were very professional and nothing was a problem. We got value for our money.
The Maritimes   4 , VIC, Australia, Sep 2018
The Maritimes are rich in both geography and history. The tour ranged from the rocky coastline with its lighthouses to the wooded inland, with stops in the villages and towns in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Cabot Island and Prince Edward Island (a must for the fans of Anne with an E). Highlights included; the Cabot Trail, Cadillac, the Fisheries Museum ...read more in in Lunenburg (where the fate of the cod fishing industry was described), the guided tour of Halifax (along with the visit to the graves of the dead from the Titanic, the memorial to the victims of the 1917 explosion of a munitions ship and the Citadel), the Alexander Graham Bell Museum, the ‘hookers’ of Cheticamp and, of course, Green Gables. Architecture buffs will appreciate the changing styles of the buildings from Maine to Prince Edward Island.

Travelling during the North American Fall, with the trees changing colour, was an added bonus. The accommodation (apart from the last night) was superior and the meals provided as part of the tour did not disappoint (unless you don’t like lobster and scallops). I also liked the free time to potter and explore at our various stops.

However, a trip like this depends on the tour director and the driver. I had prepaid the gratuities for both and felt that neither really deserved them, especially the driver who knew only two speeds: fast and stop. Nor did he see it as his job to clean the coach on a regular basis.

The tour director sometimes gave information on locations visited, at others not, leaving us with a very patchy sense of the historical and geographical significance of places visited. Nor did she make any arrangements for stops for group members to photograph the changing colours of autumn. Yet, neither director nor driver could detract from the extraordinary beauty of the Maritimes. As for Global Journeys: to use an old Australian expression, their blood is worth bottling. Thanks Jemma.
America's Musical Heritage - Globus     3 , NSW, Australia, Sep 2018
This was a fabulous tour. Our Tour Director, Ken Thompson, was professional, approachable, and informative. He communicated well and had a meticulous eye for detail. The Coach Driver, Taurus, was skilled and caring, giving special attention to passengers getting on and off the coach. The hotels were excellent, especially Gaylords Opryland at Nashville, ...read more the Guesthouse at Graceland, Memphis and the Sheraton Hotel in New Orleans. They were all high class hotels and well located.

The included activities fitted admirably with the purpose of the tour with the highlights being the honky tonks along Broadway in Nashville, the Grand Old Opry the mansion and the Elvis Experience at Graceland and the food and music in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Alll the included meals were very good and gave us the chance to sample the cuisine of the local areas.

This was one of the best tours we have done (and we have done lots). We particularly enjoyed it because it brought to life our love for the music that was born and still flourishes in this part of the world.
Coach and cruise   0 , NSW, Australia, Sep 2018
We loved our recent trip both by coach and cruise ship. It was fascinating to visit the three beautiful cities of Boston, Montreal and Quebec. The first part on the coach was fast paced, well organised and very well hosted. Our fellow travellers were mainly Americans which was both interesting and delightful to meet such an enthusiastic bunch. The cruise, ...read more as always with Holland America was perfect, great staff, activities and excursions. Smooth waters for the most part too. I would recommend this trip to see a part of the US and Canada not always visited from Australia, especially for lovers of history.
Globus Independent travel to Rome & Venice     0 , VIC, Australia, Sep 2018
I took the Rome/Venice Globus Independent tour this September. They take care of all the transfers to and from hotels etc. There is a short guided tour of the city and the rest of the time you are on your own (which suited me as I had been to Rome & Venice before) otherwise you choose an additional optional tour. Happy with the hotel choice, and everything ...read more ran well. The local tour guides were knowledgeable and entertaining.
America's National Parks   1 , VIC, Australia, Sep 2018
Overall everything was very good although we spent too much time at Mount Rushmore and I would like to have gone to Custer Park which was not far away. However, I realise you can't please all the people all the time.
The biggest issue to me was the very poor food at breakfast at all hotels. There was no choice of eggs which were always scrambled and ...read more actually tasted like cardboard. All I could eat was the real fruit as there was not much else.
An unforgettable travel experience in Kenya and Tanzania     2 , QLD, Australia, Sep 2018
Our 15 day East Africa trip with Globus proved to be a dream come true. To see animals in Africa on a TV documentary is interesting, but to see them in the wild in front of you was a surreal and heart-beating experience which will be kept in my memory forever.

Globus is a very reliable tour company and every step of the tour goes with the itinerary ...read more they advertised. The accommodations were all 5 star and they were fantastic. The local tour guides generally are good but because 17 tourists were separated into 4 groups and sitting in 4 4-wheel drive tour buses, the guide was not always staying with your group. The more time you spent actually was with our fellow travellers.

The local guide Robert in Tanzania was fantastic. He has obtained two degrees in medicine and law in England. He practices as an ER doctor and comes to work as a tourist guide once a month in high tour seasons. He transformed our tour beyond the leisure holiday to be like an interesting lecture about the local history and archaeology. In the future, I would still like to travel with Globus.
Fabulous Musical Heritage Trip   3 , New Zealand, Sep 2018
We have just returned from a fantastic trip to the US South learning about our love for music. Music. Music. Music. Recording studios, cafes, joints, country, blues, jazz, hangouts, local. We had it all. The history was outstandingly conveyed to us in a great variety of forums. It was our 5th trip with Globus so it's very obvious we enjoy their "company". ...read more We started in mid September. CJ and Willie were an expert management team who worked together extremely well, even in a time of need with a 'sad bus'! Experiencing food from the local areas was another fact that we really enjoyed and receiving advice on this was greatly appreciated. Accommodation was up to the usual standard - very very good. We are from New Zealand and are always in the small minority in the touring group but there were a mix of Canadians, Australians and US people who accommodated each other very well. Having a common thread of music was definitely a plus. Thank you.
Excellent historical and scenic tour out of Washington DC   0 , QLD, Australia, Sep 2018
We thoroughly enjoyed this 9 day Globus tour which covered Washington DC and beautiful Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania, focusing on the history of the American Revolution and the Civil War. Everything about the way Globus ran the tour was spot on: an excellent Tour Director who knew the locations and history extremely well; a very modern, comfortable ...read more coach with on-board wifi; an excellent coach driver; excellent hotel accommodation; good breakfasts and a number of good included dinners.

Our tour group of 30 was friendly and cooperative, with good interaction between the American majority and and the Aussie and Kiwi minority. A highlight for us was a visit to Williamsburg (and a private visit we had there to William & Mary College following up on some family history research). The tour was quite fast paced and we covered a lot of ground in 9 days, but it was not overly demanding. We have no complaints or criticisms of the tour or Globus at all. Highly recommended.
UK & Ireland September 2018   4 , VIC, Australia, Sep 2018
I recently returned from a Globus UK & Ireland trip. There were 44 on the tour mostly Americans, 6 Canadians, 2 New Zealanders & 4 from Australia. The coach was very nice & roomy & we had seat rotation every day. Our Tour Director was excellent as well as our driver. Some of those narrow roads, I just closed my eyes & was thankful I wasn't driving. ...read more Our accommodation was very good. They all used doonas, which I find too hot & also all hotels only provided one luggage rack. The included meals were nice apart from the hotels in Warwick & York. The optional tours were excellent - definitely recommend The Royal Yacht Britannia, Taylor's Irish night & the Medieval Banquet at Knappogue Castle. We only had one day of drizzle but most days were coolish. I would definitely travel on another Globus tour, value for money, excellent inclusions. This is my third trip I have booked through Global Journeys, Georgie & Hannah did a great job.
Satisfied Customers   3 , NSW, Australia, Sep 2018
Our experience with Globus on this tour in September 2018 was positive. It was our first organised tour and we found the travel itinerary and documents very useful. The Scandinavian (Iceland Extension)     1 , VIC, Australia, Sep 2018
The Scandinavian part of the holiday was good and we saw a real lot of things across Denmark, Sweden and Norway. We loved Norway the best as it covered more mountains and nature where Denmark and Sweden was more cities and big towns. Many of the people didn't mix in together and our tour guide just did her job without feeling a bit robotic. This didn't ...read more stop us having fun and we did enjoy everyday along the way. The Iceland part of the holiday was fantastic, the other travellers mixed in together and our tour guide went out of her way to show us extra things along the way. Overall we loved this holiday and would love to go back and visit each place again in the future.
Scottish Highlands   11 , New Zealand, Sep 2018
A great trip. It was really good to have two night stays. Our tour director was a living, walking history book with a great sense of humour, and a great deal of sensitivity to customer needs. 14 days gave a very good taste of the Highlands, enough to plan a future trip of more depth. The coach was very comfortable and the driving unbelievably good. ...read more Some areas were really tight, but our driver had them under control. Add on excursions were excellent. I would do another tour with Cosmos without hesitation.
