Excellent Tour of Treasures of The Balkans & Transylvania 2 Treasures of the Balkans & Transylvania , New Zealand, Jul 2016
We had a wonderful tour with Cosmos and highly recommend this trip because it takes you through small villages as well as the main cities, allowing you to mix with the locals. Accommodation ranges from 3 star to 5 star and the optional extras offered were all excellent and worthwhile. Big thank you to Tour Director Sandra and our amazing driver Mihaly read more who navigated some narrow roads and streets with very professional driving. This tour gives enough time to also explore the towns and cities by one’s self in addition to the included attractions and local guided places.
Great sightseeing trip 2 , VIC, Australia, Jul 2016
Cosmos is a great tour company. Excellent guides and drivers. Good mix of tour group ages too. Hotels are excellent. Time to do your own sightseeing too.
Fantastic and stress free trip through the middle of the USA 5 Rhythms of the Road , QLD, Australia, Jul 2016
This was our third tour with Cosmos and it definitely met all expectations. We had a great tour group with a good mix of nationalities and made lasting friendships. Our tour guide Brenda was very informative and our driver John was extremely professional. I have already recommended this tour to friends at home. Highlights were Nashville and the honky read more tonk bars and Graceland. Would definitely use Global Journeys again. Thanks Yvonne.
Enjoyed the sights 10 The Best of Britain & Ireland , VIC, Australia, Jul 2016
I enjoyed the places visited as listed in the itinerary. The coach was good and the accommodation up to standard. However, the tour lacked my expectations going on my experience of previous tours. It was a directed tour rather than a guided tour. In other words, we were pretty much given directions for places of interest that we might like to explore. read more The guide did not take us 'through' places so that we could relax and enjoy the experience. Instead, I found that I worried constantly about not getting lost and not losing track of time so that I got back to the pick up point on time.

Unfortunately, I forgot to remember a landmark for meeting the bus in Edinburgh after visiting Edinburgh Castle and got lost. I called the guide on her mobile (she gave to us her number on the first day in case we needed to contact her) and texted to give her my location. She did not return my call. My itinerary/paperwork was on the coach otherwise I would have just caught a very expensive cab to the hotel. I had to calm myself down since I was in a city alone totally unknown to me so that I could figure out what to do. I decided to try to retrace my steps when the bus spotted me 15 minutes after the set pick up time. The guide was more concerned with blaming me for getting lost rather than for my welfare. She defended not using her mobile to call me back on the grounds that it was not charged and was not a work phone. I was upset, humiliated at holding everyone up, and angry about my predicament of being lost which lead to question my prospects for enjoying the rest of the tour.

My understanding from other people doing the tour was that the guide was prepared to leave me. For future reference, I suggest that tour operators provide a clear disclaimer in their paperwork outlining who is responsible when someone gets lost. It ended being quite an expensive tour since we paid for entry to most places. The optional tours were expensive too. A ticket to Windsor castle cost £59 yet by the time we got through there was barely an hour to visit the castle before having to head back to the coach. The tour was promoted as 50+ but this was not the case. I have nothing against young people or families but my general view is that they are less open to meeting new people. Also, the fact that we all went in different directions at each stop did not help the bonding process.

One more thing: I got the impression that we were constantly pitched toward tipping each and everyone in addition to the guide and driver who was fabulous by the way. This is off putting. I suggest a communal envelope for tipping at the end of the tour instead of the individual voucher system.
Wonderful trip through South America   4 Ultimate South America , VIC, Australia, Jul 2016
Cosmo's delivered yet again - our trip through South America was wonderful and a trip that will leave lasting memories. Our Tour Director Fernando was exceptional - Unfortunately I was injured on my holiday resulting in my foot in plaster - Fernando was fantastic arranging medical care and always ensured that there was a wheel chair or assistance at read more the variance locations & airports we travelled. Thank you Michelle from Global Journeys for making our booking and arranging our tour with Cosmos and airfares ensuring that everything was organised allowing us to have a stress free holiday - your assistance is greatly appreciated.
A grand tour & holiday   3 Grand Tour of Switzerland , NSW, Australia, Jul 2016
An enjoyable holiday & value for money as we were able to get a discount for being repeat clients. Switzerland was expensive but we managed by getting lunch at the co-op. One thing - there was a lady (with her extended family) from Oman who had a disability. Where it is great that she was able to travel like she did, I felt for her as the new coach read more was not fitted to allow for her disability. I'm sure she was embarrassed on how she had to enter & leave the coach. It did make me feel embarrassed for her. I don't think the rooms were able to provide for her either. Globus needs to look at this for any future clients with a disability.
Cosmos Grand tour Switzerland 3 Grand Tour of Switzerland , NSW, Australia, Jul 2016
Michelle from Global Journeys was great in helping to organise this tour. I have seen comments about the accommodation standards being less than expected. I am quite particular and can honestly say there was only one hotel where the accommodation was not good but it was still a good location, clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were on the whole really read more good but the few meals included were not anything special. Coach was new and comfortable. Driver and Guide were excellent. Saw a lot of Switzerland in a short time and I enjoyed the included train rides. Were lucky and got good weather every day.
Enjoyable holiday 1 Focus on Scandinavia , WA, Australia, Jul 2016
Nice enjoyable holiday and great views of Norway countryside especially the Fjords and Zealand castle (Copenhagen) visit were our highlights. Well organised and run but long hours in coach. Good local guides. Areas for improvement - the hotel in Telemark ran out of hot water in middle of shower. Payment for Optional tours on site need to be better read more organised & some comfort stops were really rushed (I suspect this is to make up for lost time).
Tour of Canadian Rockies   3 The Canadian Rockies , ACT, Australia, Jul 2016
Booking was easy and the consultant very informative. The tour director and driver were friendly, competent and approachable. Landscape and scenery outstanding. Accommodation very comfortable.
Awesome Trip! 7 The Magic of the Italian Lakes , QLD, Australia, Jul 2016
I really enjoyed this trip, it was the perfect pace to discover the Italian Lakes area. It was not too rushed, with minimal driving between destinations and there were always things to see and do. Our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable and the driver kept us safe on the roads. The hotels were excellent too. I would recommend this tour for someone read more looking for a relaxing end to a Europe holiday.
Great way to travel from Washington to New York 1 , Australia, Jun 2016
Overall this is a great economical way of seeing 4 cities in 8 days. We had a fabulous guide who was very knowledgeable and helpful. The New York local guide was also excellent and gave lots of help in regards to getting around the city. The only downside to the tour was the accommodation in Boston. It was outside the city and could only be reached read more by train and bus. Optional excursions were all good.
Trans Canadian Adventure 1 Canadian Train Odyssey , Australia, Jun 2016
Tour was great. Would have liked breakfast included. Was difficult at times funding something suitable and inexpensive close to accommodation.
Absolutely fantastic, great guide 4 Treasures of the Balkans & Transylvania , NSW, Australia, Jun 2016
Absolutely fantastic, great guide. Experiencing these former eastern block countries was a great time. We had a guide who lived as a child in Romania under communism and Ally told us her personal encounters, thoughts and history on all aspects of these countries. Will visit again.
Wonderful trip to Italy 4 Italy's Best , New Zealand, Jun 2016
Global Journeys (Leanne) is wonderful to organized the trip for me and my friend which was great and much appreciated. Everywhere was interesting and exciting. The tour was well organized Tour Director (Ingrid) and Driver (Giorgio) were both wonderful and extremely professional. There is no way you would have seen and done so much if you had traveled read more independently so it's good value for money , my friend and I chose this tour because unlike other tours, it covered most of Italy of all the main places we wanted to see. The majority of hotels were great, several were outstanding, one not so good but we were very impressed with overall standards. I will definitely book my tour with Global Journeys again and recommend it to all my friends and family.
Cosmos tour of Canadian Rockies 8 The Canadian Rockies , NSW, Australia, Jun 2016
The tour was generally good with some excellent scenery in the Rockies. Our Tour experience was soured somewhat by the attitude of the Tour Director (Peter) who could not get the excursion bookings right for us and a number of other people. He consistently made errors with excursion bookings and would try and blame the passengers. He had an abrasive read more and sarcastic manner and tried to incorrectly bill us for an excursion we did not undertake. Our experience with Global Journeys was very good during the booking process. The Coach had 47 people plus the Tour Director and Driver which was too many to make for a comfortable journey particularly given the number of sight seeing stops that we had. I would give Cosmos another chance and hopefully would not encounter this type of character again.
Excellent Trans American Adventure tour experience 5 Trans-American Adventure , VIC, Australia, Jun 2016
We thoroughly enjoyed the 22 day tour with Cosmos, bookings organised for us by Global Journeys' Yvonne in a very efficient manner. The tour director Doris Walker was very informative, organised and well looked after the needs of the 40 on our tour. Her smooth operation and wit along with Craig's excellent driving skills and courteous attitude made read more it easy for us to focus on the viewing of the seven plus national parks which were breathtaking and some beautiful small towns and a few large cities. Most of the hotels we stayed in were good except the one in Pierre which was below the standard. Overall a very positive experience and happy to we took this particular tour to USA.
Very well organised and operated tour. 3 Trans-American Adventure , WA, Australia, Jun 2016
We had a great time on this tour which was led wonderfully well by Doris, our Tour Director, who even made the hours in the coach interesting when there wasn't much scenery to look at. Niagara Falls, Ford Museum, Grand Canyon and all of the National Parks were among many, many highlights of this tour. Excellent value for money and we met some lovely read more and very interesting people within our group, wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends. Thank you Doris and Michelle at Global Journeys.
Full on, but great!   6 , VIC, Australia, Jun 2016
The tour was full-on, but excellent. After the first day I wondered how I would finish two weeks, but I did. With a good sleep each night, I had recovered for the next day. It was good not having to walk long distances if you did not want to, but most of the walking was short anyway. It was hot, but we were either in the coach or the motel most of read more the time. The short time in heat was okay, but at times draining if we were left too long. As we had to have our bags packed and ready to be picked up at the motel by 6.30am most mornings, you needed to be organised the night before. The many miles we travelled were broken with stops of sights to visit or vista points. The distance did not seem great, although we covered three States - Colorado, Utah and Arizona. The many canyons, State and National Parks we visited were amazing, such variety and beauty. The whole tour was wonderful and well worth it. Our driver was excellent and our tour director very good.
Easy trip through the South. 6 Southern Charms & Florida , QLD, Australia, Jun 2016
Very busy trip which means you see and do a lot of interesting things. Loved the Southern hospitality and the optional excursions. Savanna and New Orleans were the highlights.
Half of Canada and all of Alaska in three weeks. 5 Canadian Train Odyssey with Alaska Cruise , WA , Australia, Jun 2016
Scenery breath taking and beautiful especially the Canadian Rockies and Lakes. Highlights being Magline Lake and the Columbia Ice Field. The cruise with Holland America comfortable and satisfied except for the compulsory tipping both on board and the land tour. On board ship wine at meals had to be purchased which I found unsatisfactory. Train cabin read more very tiny and cell like. The Chelsea Hotel which began the tour from Toronto is like a railway station, large and with little atmosphere. Other hotels ranged from average to pretty good. Time of year mid June perhaps a little early for warmer weather but was not too bad. Take some warm clothing! Fellow travellers a mix of various nationalities. The Americans very friendly, others average and a couple of nasty Aussies.
