“Paul Wonmsbaecher made an ordinary trip great”
Thank you Hannah of Global Journeys for your help with our booking. Paul Wonsmbaecher our tour director was outstanding, he melded the guests together, making for a fun coach. His local knowledge, history and care for his guests was beyond reproach. We were disappointed that the excursion to Eagles Nest was cancelled and replaced with a Sound of Music Tour which was boring. Having travelled with Trafalgar many times, believe they need to review some of their excursions as they have become ...read more stale. A concern that was raised by other guests was the cost of the optional excursions. It was suggested that this should be advised at the time of booking enabling people to budget accordingly. (GJ. We agree with you, however "Optional Excursions" by their very nature are optional. Guests do not have to do any of them (and therefore there is no cost). Trafalgar could include all "optionals" in the itinerary, but then the price would go up, and you may end up paying for excursions that you're not interested in. Think of them as a way to tailor the trip to your interests. Optional Excursions are listed in the final documentation that guests receive three weeks prior to travel to allow them to budget accordingly before they leave. Listing optional excursions before then is not possible as they are not set and priced until the season starts - remember many clients book these trips up to 12 months in advance.)
“Anniversary trip through Germany”
We had the best time, everyone on board the coach was friendly. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and informative. The coach driver was very experienced and gave you a good sense of security, the coach was always clean and tidy and very comfortable. The highlight of the trip if we had to only pick one was the Neuschwanstein Castle, it was perched on a rocky cliff below snow capped mountains. It was just like a fairy tale with views down into the town below with an interior that needs to be ...read more seen to be believed. We have enjoyed all 4 Cosmos trips that we have been on and would happily recommend Global Journeys to our friends and family.
“Austrian Lakes Christmas”
We stayed at the White Horse Inn, Lake Wolfgangese. The hotel was right on the lake, the view from our balcony and breakfast room was picture prefect. We had an incredible 8 days stay. Our room was extra large with a TV / dressing room as well. The staff were all very friendly and polite. The meals were wonderful, something to please everyone. The village is a beautiful little safe haven with plenty to do, at Christmas the streets are lined with Christmas stalls as well as their everyday shops. ...read more Surrounding villages are pretty and safe. The scenery everywhere is absolutely stunning, add a little snow and it's breathtaking.
“All in all a wonderful trip”
Booking with Yvonne from Global Journeys was so easy. All I had to do was ask for a quote, then pay a deposit and Yvonne handled the rest. We travelled with Trafalgar last year and were very pleased with the price, optional tours, accommodation, the tour guide and driver, so we decided on a similar tour this year with them. Everything on the tour was organised for us by Ulf, our tour guide, who was terrific. He had a thorough knowledge of Germany and was very interesting to listen to. The accommodation ...read more was of a good standard, well located so that we could make the most of our free time. The itinerary was not too rushed as some tours are so we saw many wonderful cities and of course the famous German Christmas Markets. Ulf made sure we saw plenty of them too! The other travellers were a great bunch of people from many countries including Australia, US, Canada, Asia and Argentina so we also had many interesting conversations during the tour. As we had travelled with Trafalgar before we were thanked with a lovely big box of chocolates and received a discount on this tour. All in all a wonderful trip. I would recommend both Global Journeys and Trafalgar to anyone considering a trip as they are friendly and professional people to deal with, as well as good value for money.
