New England and Eastern Canada tour   , TX, United States, Aug 2022
We just returned from a beautiful motor coach/ cruise ship tour of Boston, New Hampshire, Vermont, Montreal, Quebec, Charlottetown, Sydney, Halifax and Bar Harbor. Our plans were expertly handled by our Global Journeys travel agent Georgie Walpole, based in Australia. She quickly addressed all of our questions and concerns and made us feel like we ...read more were her only clients. She calmly listened to us and was kind and reassuring when a problem arose halfway through the planning and we were afraid we would have to cancel. She is excellent at her job!

The motor coach beginning of the trip was very fun. We met some very nice fellow travelers and had some very interesting sights to see on the way to Canada. Scott Dworkin was our guide and managed the group of 40 of us expertly. New Hampshire and Vermont were gorgeous and he got us all into Canada safely and arranged for the group to all get Covid tests which were required to get on the cruise ship. The cruise was lovely, with excellent food, very accommodating staff, good entertainment in the evenings and interesting excursions. People we met in the ports were friendly and welcoming. It was overall a very wonderful 12 days!
Essence of Eastern Canada with cruise   , NSW , Australia, Aug 2022
We were disappointed on the tour as a whole . It was very unusual not to include breakfast & even the farewell dinner which should have been included in the price. Unfortunately the cruise meals were repetitive.
Spoilt from start to finish   , NSW, Australia, Oct 2019
My husband and I have just returned from our first Luxury Gold trip - New England's Magnificent Autumn - and I can't rate highly enough the way we were all made to feel so special. Mitch our 'travelling concierge' and Mike our driver couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful. We were a small group of nine fellow travellers on a smaller coach ...read more with plenty of room, coffee machine and snacks. Nothing was rushed and we got to see the most magnificent Autumn colours that you could ever have hoped for. Plenty of included meals and private tours which made for a great trip. We felt like family at the end of the 10 days. Particularly enjoyed the dine with locals experience in New York. Couldn't fault Luxury Gold and look forward to travelling with them again.
Fall foliage on the Classic New England Tour   , QLD, Australia, Oct 2019
In mid-October we saw the Fall foliage in all its glory. The national parks of Acadia and White Mountains were highlights but the roads generally were lined by swathes of red, yellow, brown, pink - wonderful. The Globus tour guide, Nancy was excellent with lots of stories and history and she handled any tricky moments with tact and kindness. Our driver ...read more Jeff was also superb and willing to go the extra distance to ensure everybody was catered for. The hotels were all of good standard. Perhaps the first one, Comfort Inn in Boston, was basic and in an unattractive area but it was OK for overnight.

If the foliage is not in place, and unless you are interested in hunting or fishing, I would not recommend these states as a travel destination. Bar Harbour, where we spent two nights, was very interesting but other towns like Bangor, Smithfield and Battleboro do not seem to have much for the tourist. Newport in Rhode Island was well worth the visit. The tour finished in Boston where the traffic seems to be in semi-permanent gridlock. A 1 1/2 hour city tour in the bus was not satisfactory. A step-on guide talked on but it was difficult to see out of the bus - one needs an open-top bus for such a tour. I would prefer to have this activity deleted and finish earlier.
