This trip was everything I wanted and hoped it would be! :-) Thank you so much for suggesting this trip and making it work for us. The itinerary was very full but covered everything we wanted to see and more. The bus, the boat and the most of the accommodations were great - friendly, clean and courteous. Our guide was absolutely fantastic! He made ...read more our trip! His knowledge, explanations, consideration, help and friendliness made everything that was great even better!

My one complaint was the Hilton Ramses. It was crowded, noisy and an unwelcoming place. From a wedding in full cry in reception, overcrowding and not enough tables for guest numbers at breakfast, early checkouts made very difficult by slow and overcrowded lifts, men physically pushing and shoving in crowded public areas (reception and into/out of lifts). This is no reflection on the trip itself but certainly is a criticism of the hotel.
Great Britain Highlights   6 , QLD, Australia, Sep 2019
Overall the accommodation was very good, breakfasts were very good. Steen the tour director was excellent; very informative and accommodating. Couldn't have asked for a better tour director. The coach driver Karl was quiet and unassuming but a very good driver and very efficient at dispatching luggage etc. Local tour guides were very knowledgable and ...read more informative. We saw a lot in a short period of time; didn't really see much of Glasgow or Cardiff. Saw highlights by bus and that was about it. But overall we were extremely happy - well organised.
Wonderful experience travelling through eastern europe     3 , VIC, Australia, Sep 2019
Travelled with trafalgar and right from the moment of meeting the travel director it was obvious it was going to be fabulous. We had a mixed age range of fellow guests mainly from Aus, Can and USA and everyone got on like a house on fire and bonded quickly. I cant recommend this trip highly enough. Slovenia was a bonus and a surprise package for us. ...read more Loved everything we did.
Our first overseas trip of many to come!   0 , QLD, Australia, Sep 2019
We couldn't be happier with the help, advice and support of Global Journeys - from our initial enquiry emails, right through until it was time to depart. In the preparation time, we had a change of travel consultant, however it was seamless and all of our information and details flowed onto our new consultant. We will definitely recommend booking through ...read more Global Journeys to family and friends, as it took all the stress out of it for us - as first time travellers! Croatia and Slovenia with Trafalgar Tours     2 , Australia, Sep 2019
A very interesting and well-organised tour from Zagreb to Dubrovnik. Sasha, our tour director, was cheerful and knowledgeable, and the several local guides were all very good. Accommodation was very comfortable and clean, and food was of a good standard. Highlights for me were, in Slovenia, the beautiful Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj and the small but ...read more charming capital city of Ljubjana, and, in Croatia, the Venetian-influenced coastal town of Rovinj, the colourful and scenic Plitvice Lakes, and the many aspects of Dubrovnik's Old Town as seen from a sunset dinner cruise and evening stroll, and a morning guided walking tour. Relaxing Tour with not too much shopping time!   4 , NSW, Australia, Sep 2019
On this tour, two nights was spent in each of our stops. We never got on the road before 8.30 or 9am so it was quite relaxing. We even were able to get our laundry done about half way through. Our guide was very knowledgeable and easy going. The majority of our hotels provided excellent accommodation. It was a large group of 48 and we didn't use name ...read more badges and we were left to our own devices as far as mixing was concerned, as we usually sat at tables of 2 or 4 even at the Welcome Reception.

The included meals were usually good and the Be My Guest lunch/dinner was a highlight. My favourite town was Kilkenny which came towards the end of the tour but we did also very much enjoy all of the west coast. The biggest disappointment was the Giant's Causeway as it was so dangerous, especially for older people scrambling over rocks. There were quite a few optional excursions which we did not feel the need to participate in. However the dinner on our last evening was most entertaining.

Ireland doesn't really have seasons.... it just gets a couple of degrees colder in winter. In September it was between 10 and 17 degrees and short passing showers on most days.
Bussing through the Baltics   1 , NSW, Australia, Aug 2019
This trip gave a first hand in-site into how much change has occurred over time in the Baltic region. It was interesting to hear first hand experiences of the local tour guides who had lived under the heavy hand of communism. Our tour guide Xavier was brilliant. He is fluent in several languages and has a vast knowledge of the history of the region. ...read more I still can't believe that our driver Gatiss was able to drive through so many cities in so many different countries without once getting lost or using a GPS.

Our group consisted mostly retirees from the USA and Australia and were good company on the trip. One disappointment on our visit to Moscow was that we could not get to see Red Square. Apparently Red Square is regularly closed to the public for special events. On this ocassion it was for the Moscow version of the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Once again Georgie at Global Journeys gave us good support and advice and we will not hesitate to use Global Journeys for our next trip.
Spain Portugal and Morocco   0 , VIC, Australia, Aug 2019
The trip was excellent and we enjoyed it very much. The itinerary was good and hotels were excellent. The tour director was very good. Overall a memorable trip.

A holiday filled with fantastic sights, food, entertainment & company   1 , VIC, Australia, Aug 2019
This was our third tour with Trafalgar & once again we were not disappointed. Brooke our travel guide was brilliant & went the extra mile to make our trip one to remember. Gary & Phil our coach drivers were top class drivers, driving & reversing through some very tight roads & manoeuvring through some very heavy traffic conditions. Amazing tour of London, Scotland, Ireland and Wales   1 , Australia, Aug 2019
Our tour was amazing our guide Steen Harris was very knowledgeable and amusing and in the 8 days we saw everything that we would have liked to see and much more. The countryside of England was beautiful as were many of the smaller towns. We would highly recommend this tour.
Prague, Vienna & Budapest   6 , QLD, Australia, Aug 2019
The coach was very comfortable. Maybe 49 people was a little overcrowded but all pretty considerate. The tour director didn't get as involved as maybe he should have and left us guessing as to what was happening next. The coach driver was brilliant. All in all too many Palaces, Churches etc. I probably wouldn’t recommend this tour.
Highlights of Eastern Europe Trip August-September 2019   3 , TAS, Australia, Aug 2019
This was our second trip with Trafalgar. The tour was as expected and with the 2 night stopovers there was no real rush, although you can be a the coach for some hours. The places we visited were really good with lots to see and do. The hotels were good, breakfasts were mostly pretty good and the dinners, when included, for the most part were good. The group of about 42 on the tour got on quite well. There were people from Australia, America, Arman, Bahamas as well as others, both single and couples. Some travelled in groups of four and three and they tendered for keep to themselves when at dinners and some events.

Overall this was a good tour at a good price. Yes, there were times it could have been better planned but some things are always out of the control of the tour operator or tour director.
Breathtaking Africa     1 , TAS, Australia, Aug 2019
We added this tour onto the Essence of South Africa and so glad that we did. From start to finish we thoroughly enjoyed it. We travelled with our friends and were a group of 4. Victoria Falls is breathtaking and was an easy 5km walk along the track. At the Chobe River we saw herds of African animals from our river cruise and Safari drive. This is how ...read more I imagined Africa. Our Lodge was on the Zambezi River with magnificent views of the river and more wildlife. The accommodation and inclusive meals were 5* or more and nothing you asked for was too much trouble.

We had many guides on this tour due to crossing so many borders. Sometimes it became a bit confusing. Everything went smoothly with Trafalgar, transfers, airport check in, accommodation and excursions. On the last day the Lodge arranged for us to go to the local village and school. This was so special. Thank you Trafalgar and Hannah at Global Journeys. I can’t wait to return to Africa.
No satisfaction with this tour   4 , NSW, Australia, Aug 2019
This tour was a 3 star tour. Something in between the Trafalgar & Costsaver tour - not value for what we paid. The tour program was good. Hotels weren't good for the tour's value - it seems that some travellers were in favour to be accommodated in bigger rooms with better views. Fantastic 18 Day Traditional Europe   1 , WA, Australia, Jul 2019
Had a fantastic time on this tour, it is pretty rushed but that was to be expected trying to see so much within the 18 days. Tour guide (Howard) was very knowledgeable and well organised. Wonderful tour     5 , TAS, Australia, Jul 2019
This tour went beyond my expectations. Accommodation, meals and tours were excellent and of a very high standard. The Safari Lodge and its surroundings were breathtaking. Really enjoyed our trip. Our tour director was full of useful information and had a good sense of humour. Nothing was too much trouble. A trip from gardens to glacier     1 , WA, Australia, Jul 2019
This was my fourth trip with Trafalgar. This time I travelled with a friend. I chose to travel in the summer to enjoy the Butchart Gardens in all its glory. I was not disappointed as the day was sunny and bright and the beauty and scents around me were to be thoroughly enjoyed. Photos will bring me back many memories of the day. This is one of the highlights ...read more of the tour for sure. Another highlight was the chance to walk on a glacier, a first for me. Despite tentative steps on the slippery path, the sight was awesome and the majesty of the surrounding mountains almost overpowering.

Each place we visited during the nine days was unique. Our hotels were very central to surrounding shops and restaurants with the exception of the Kamloops accommodation. Unfortunately, though this was a very comfortable accommodation, it was in the middle of nowhere with not really anywhere much to walk and explore. Our hotel in Victoria was amazing... a suite with so much room. In all, the bedrooms in the hotels were enormous with clean, modern facilities. Exception being the Sawridge Inn in Jasper. This hotel was not very well maintained.

Our tour guide was not the best one I have encountered on previous trips with Trafalgar as the information shared with us was rather confusing leading to two of us becoming lost on our first day! Our driver was very experienced and I felt safe at all times in his care. I look forward to travelling again with Trafalgar in the future. I am usually a solo traveller and have always felt looked after.
