Again another wonderfully crafted tour operated by Trafalgar! Tour Director Nina and Well-being Director Mia did a fantastic job showing us the rich and diverse culture Greece has to offer. Would certainly tap the Greek Island portion on the end of the tour if we had our time again.
Everything to do with the cruise was excellent, the staff, the ship, daily activities destinations and food. The pre trip service was poor. It took a while for the group to be found at Split airport. The pre-tour service was bad. Day one we were not contacted about what the arrangements were for the following day’s embarkation. Information, when read more it was provided on day 2 was confusing, contradictory and it seemed disorganised. I was so annoyed that I withdrew from the information sharing activity when the person arrived. It was warm the day we boarded ship, bit of a trek from the hotel to the wharf. Either get a hotel closer or a minibus. We didn’t need to stay such an expensive hotel, although the staff there were very good.
The Avangard was a well appointed small ship. The crew were superb and so were the meals. Tour director on boat knew his stuff well and did a good job showing us the different towns and cities. Small disappointment was the local guide at Split who did not turn up to pick us up at airport. I had to ring her up to collect our whole group of 9. She only read more appeared on day 2 to introduce herself to us. Other than this transfer issue, the rest of our tour was very good.
The tour began and ended at the Tower Hotel, London. We didn't stay at this hotel because it was very expensive! Other hotels on our journey were very good, though whenever we reached a significant city, the hotels were typically on the outskirts - a good reason for doing a small group tour. The first half of our tour ended in Rome, and we had a full read more coach of 42 passengers. In Rome, the majority of the tour completed their tour, and only 17 of us continued on to Amsterdam.
Australian tour members had the option of a free transfer to London. Only five of us did this, including the Tour Director. Our Tour Director was Kassie Jones. She was excellent - patient, understanding, empathetic, and amazingly knowledgeable about all aspects of the tour. Our coach driver, Antonio, was also excellent. He drove the coach like it was his own, which makes sense because his family did own the coach and many others. I loved the way Antonio cleaned the coach windows every morning, as well as keeping the inside immaculate. On the first half of the tour, we had a health officer, Sandra. She was very good also and helpful.
We went so many awesome places, including Paris, Bordeaux, Biarritz, Pamplona, Madrid, Barcelona, French Riviera, Monaco, Pisa, Florence, Rome, Venice, European Alps, Vienna, Bratislava, Prague, Munich, Lucerne, Boppard, Cologne, and Amsterdam. We especially liked the fact that many of the visits were of two nights duration. Over 27 day, a few of the passengers started to annoy, but overall we were a happy, cohesive group. We loved the trip, and we would certainly travel with Trafalgar again - especially if we could have the same Tour Director!

Another excellent tour with Trafalgar! Thoroughly recommended as Turkey is a beautiful country rich with diversity and culture. TD Altay Gur was dedicated and a very thorough operator!
We found Georgie at Global Journeys excellent. Very helpful and quick to respond to any concerns. We would not hesitate to book with her and Global Journeys again. We had a fabulous trip to Scandinavia with Insight Vacations. The beautiful warm to hot weather seems to follow us where ever we went. Our accommodation was excellent even though the read more rooms were quite hot due to the unusually warm weather.
Our guide Lena was well organised, very approachable, helpful and knowlegeable. Lasro our driver was just amazing and was always neat and well groomed. We had a small group of 23. Australians, Canadians and Americans. Couples friends and singles all very nice and punctual. The only negative was the onboard seat rotation which we thought could of been better enforced.

Thanks to Georgie for booking this trip. Pleasure dealing with her. I will definitely be booking more trips with her. Trafalgar tour was great. Good travel director and excellent coach driver. Beautiful scenic Scandinavia. Geiranger fiord and the mountains were spectacular. Did not get to see the midnight sun at North Cape as it was raining. Norway read more is a beautiful scenic country.
Note to Trafalgar - Some of the hotels were not great. No hot water in the Santa Claus hotel. Freezing cold as well. Trafalgar needs to assess this. Going by ferry from Stockholm to Helsinki was a wasted journey. Over 16 hours on a crowded ferry, cabins were small and claustrophobic. Better off driving from Stockholm to Helsinki and get to see more of Sweden and Finland.

Had an excellent time on my Best of Italy tour! The tour director (Pamela) was so knowledgeable and a lovely person. The whole group (all Americans except for me from Australia) were a really friendly bunch and we got on so well. Hotels were very nice, maybe one not as good, but all very clean. Lots of optional extras were also available. Tour involved read more a good deal of walking but easily done even if you’re 70+ like me. I would definitely recommend this trip, went to so many amazing places which couldn’t happen on your own.
What a great experience this trip was. We got to see so much of Europe, in 12 days. Would highly recommend Costsaver to travel with. Our tour guide and driver helped make us feel safe and well looked after. They were able to take us places, that we would never have been able to find ourselves. We made many new friends. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and would recommend to one and all. We had excellent weather, comfortable accommodation, a very knowledgeable and entertaining tour guide. Our bus driver also entertained us with his knowledge while also giving us a safe and comfortable ride. We enjoyed the extra input of our safety director who also entertained us with read more his insights and keeping us healthy. This was our second trip to Alaska - our previous tour by Trafalgar was indeed another adventure to remember. Overall this trip - and the sight of majestic Denali and all points of interest visited by cruise, train, or bus were well chosen. This tour is a must. The spectacular train ride from Denali to Fairbanks was the highlight for us.
We had the best tour group. Our Tour Director Elisabeth, our driver and, this time, there was also a well being support person, were all excellent in every possible way. Most of the hotels were fabulous in great locations and the country road experience was so special, I didn't want to leave France. I enjoyed the same trip about 5 yrs ago and this read more time, it was slightly different, so that was even better. I would highly recommend this particular tour for it's regional experience through the wine growing countryside. However, the only part I wasn't too keen on was Monaco as it's not my style. My favourite area was the south west of France, so green, and the medieval villages are stunning.

The itinerary for this trip was perfect! With 2 nights at each city, we were able to have 1 partial travel day and 1 full day of exploration and adventure in each area. The accommodations were great, and the food was outstanding which was a pleasant surprise! I actually really appreciated that the first lodge in which we stayed had no television read more and the wi-fi wasn't spectacular because it pushed our group to step away from the "comforts" of the cell phones and actually spend time diving into the culture of the area which put us in the right frame of mind for the rest of the trip.

Costa Rica Nature Adventure with Guanacaste

The hotels were first rate and very unique. I was amazed that in the jungles of Torteguero, my room was clean, comfortable and had hot water. I loved the quirkiness of LaQuinta hotel with a birds and coffee morning. I wish I could have spent more time there. Our next hotel was the Arenal Paraiso Resort for a soak in their warm springs and a view of read more the volcano. I went to the washroom just as the clouds cleared and I missed the whole view. I will need to come back. The El Establo Mountain Hotel is built on the mountain and requires shuttles to go from rooms to meals. This hotel had peacocks. I saw a fleeting glimpse of a coati just as our bus pulled up. This little animal resembles a lemur or its tail did. The hotel was a great stop for exploring the cloud forest and recovering from zip lining. Food was delicious so extra strapping was required to secure me to the zip line.
Enjoyed pretty much everything, particularly the first two days in Tortuguerro and the final two days in Monteverde. Also enjoyed the rain forest stop. Loved seeing the animals, plants and learning about coffee, chocolates and the Costa Rican way of life. Not so much the Arenal volcano, because we've been to Mount St. Helens, Crater Lake , Lassen and read more Yellowstone. So it was the least unusual stop for us, but I get it. Lots of volcanoes in Costa Rica. Again, terrific guides.
Most of the trip was great. I've been to Italy before, however this itinerary went to places I hadn't been or I wanted to see again, especially Firenze & Sienna. Not sure why we had to get up and leave so early in Venice (8am) since the Gondola ride wasn't scheduled until after 10:30 & pretty much everything was still closed after the walking tour. read more However other than that a really enjoyable trip with good local guides.

The itinerary was great, so cool to go from the Caribbean through the continental divide to the Pacific. The hotels were great, really liked that they were not a chain but contributing to the local community. The coach was very comfortable, AC worked well.

This was a look at Costa Rica, enabling us to experience the country from a wide angled approach. History, Geography and how the people really live make this an enlightening tour. Of course interspersing the jungle, the mountains and the beach made it attractive to all. Recreational activities such as zip lining, rafting and hiking sweetened the days activities.
Great itinerary. We were afraid we were going to feel rushed because of how much was packed into 9 days. However, the opposite was true. Because of the level of service provided, we felt relaxed the entire time. All of the travel and sightseeing details were taken care of, and all we had to do was sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.
I've discussed the itinerary in my previous answer. The coach was wonderful. Still amazed how the driver manipulated it thru the narrow streets! Hotels were really nice! The only complaint was from my partner during the Rome stay. Our room was on the street side of the hotel and was very noisy late into the night. I didn't seem like we'd be easily read more able to switch, so we lived with it.

There is so much to see in Egypt. The great pyramids at Giza, the Sphinx, the Valley of the Kings, Abu Simbal, the temples at Luxor and the Avenue of the Sphynxes. We also visited some smaller temples I hadn’t heard of before which were so very beautiful. I expected to see wonderful sights and learn a lot but the trip was so much more than I ever expected. Thank you!
