Wonderful trip   0 , Australia, Aug 2011
Our Canadian Totem Circle Tour was a wonderful trip, it included coach, ferries and train travel, we experienced all modes of transport. The driver and courier were both excellent, the accommodations were very comfortable, large 2 double bed rooms. The Canadian scenery is breathtaking, pine forests, snow covered mountains, beautiful lakes and rivers. ...read more Highlights of our trip were Stanley Park in Vancouver, the Butchart Gardens in Victoria, the First Nations Cultural Excursion & Museum in Prince Rupert, the trip to the Athabasca Glacier, Maligne Lake and Banff. We were also lucky to see 2 wild grizzlies and 2 black bears, an elk, many bald eagles, other birds, chipmunks and squirrels along the way. Meals were not included on the tour but this gave us the chance to try many and varied places, eating out is cheaper than Australia and we had some great seafood dishes, we particularly like the Halibut, a local fish that is delicious. All in all we had a great time and met some lovely people, it has given us a small taste of Canada and we would like to see more in the future.
So many fantastic scenes, colours and people   0 , Australia, Aug 2011
How can we list the so many fantastic scenes, colours and people we saw and met. The train, coach and accommodation were exceptional. The tour director (Lynda Brown) was very knowledgeable of the areas we visited and was very organized. We had a good mix of stop off points for photos as well as rest breaks and rest days. I believe we were very lucky ...read more with our weather as we only had a couple of hours of rain on the first day as we were leaving Vancouver on the train, I believe the average temperature was around 28c each day. A couple of side tours we did were awesome, this included a helicopter ride over the Rockies at Banff and a floatplane trip over Whistler. Both were fantastic in their own way as the colours and mountain shapes were different. The extra accommodation we had (1 day at either end of the tour) was well worth it as we were able to see the sights of Vancouver at our leisure. The cruise part of the trip was not so kind in the weather department as we were at the end of the summer and we had a considerable amount of rain. We did some side excursions which consisted of, Tracy Arm Glacier Tour and were pleasantly surprised at the scenery and colours even with an overcast sky. We were also very lucky to meet a pod of 25 whales when we going up to Juneau on the catamaran. We were looking at them for around 20 minutes. While in Skagway we did the train tour to White Horse Pass, very misty and wet but enjoyed the experience. Seeing the exceptional harsh areas (and very scenic views) where miners had to endure the hardship of travelling over the mountains was worth the ride. Glacier Bay was our next on ship experience, a little disappointed (mainly because we had the experience of Tracy Arm) with the colourlessness of the area, but again it was an incredible experience. Ketchikan was interesting (did some shopping). Weather set in early but all of our sightseeing was well and truly finished. The inside passage cruising was a photographers delight in the variety of sights, colours & many wildlife sightings. Would and have thoroughly recommended this trip to all my friends and any other people I meet. Only had a couple of hiccups, departing the ship did not go too smooth as we docked 1/2 hr late and on the return plane trip I had a problem. When we go back, we think it will be for around a month and drive around the areas we would like to visit again but for a longer time. The whole trip was a good taste of what to go back for. The organising of our requests for airline, extra accommodation was done by your staff with great expertise and hope to use your services again.
Accommodation and meals were all very impressive   1 , Australia, Aug 2011
As this was our first trip to the United Kingdom, the 10-day tour was a great way to get an overview of England, Scotland and Wales. Everything was handled very professionally and we were especially impressed with the Tour Guide and the Coach Driver, both of whom went out of their way to ensure that everyone enjoyed the tour. The itinerary was good ...read more and the accommodation and meals were all very impressive. Overall, a great experience.
Recommend to anyone wanting a glance at Europe on a budget   0 , Australia, Aug 2011
From the first moment I emailed Global Journeys about the Wonders of Europe tour by Cosmos I knew I had made the right choice, all my questions, no matter how silly, where quickly and pleasantly answered. The tour was exactly what was stated on website, very much a highlight tour of Europe, great for the first timer, a great overview of the main cities. ...read more Optionals offered where a great way to see a extra bit of that particular place. Made some great friends as the other tour goers where from all parts of the world (USA, England, NZ, Asia) and all different age groups. Hotels where very basic and sometimes quite far from the city centre. Overall had a great time and would recommend to anyone wanting a glance at Europe on a budget. I would travel with Cosmos again and will definitely be booking again through Global Journeys.
Great experience with your company, from start to finish   0 , Australia, Aug 2011
I had a great experience with your company, from start to finish. Georgie was my tour consultant, and she was very helpful - responded to emails shortly after they were sent, was very knowledgeable and sought specific information I wanted answers to when she did not know it. I enjoyed the Cosmos tour, and found that I was able to see the parts of France I had requested to visit when I first made investigations (this particular tour was recommended based on my request). Some of the best scenery we have ever seen   0 , Australia, Aug 2011
What a great journey through some of the best scenery we have ever seen, topped off by the sights of London, Paris, Rome, Florence, Athens, Venice, Olympia, the list goes on. We had a splendid group which made the trip for us such an enjoyable experience. Our tour consultant Georgie was most helpful in the planning of the 2 tours we undertook.
Very impressed   0 , Australia, Aug 2011
This is my first time with Cosmos via Global Journeys, we were very impressed. I would definitely do it again. The price is very reasonable and we were happy with the hotels and the free breakfast and free 4 dinners were fabulous. So cheap! The tour director was so helpful in every way. He approached everyone, everyday to ensure we were all okay. His ...read more service was excellent. Looking forward to join the tour again with Cosmos. And Global Journeys were great. Thanks Yvonne. Well done!
Met some lovely people and saw lots of new places   0 , Australia, Aug 2011
The hotels ranged from very nice to fairly ordinary, the best being in Mestre (Venice), a Novotel Hotel. One needs to be aware that the hotel star ratings in Europe do not always match those in other parts of the world. The hotel where this tour starts is nice enough, however it's location for anyone visiting Rome is awful. The Tour Director was great, ...read more a young Italian lady who did everything to make the trip enjoyable. We visited a lot of places in a fairly short time and as a result one has to accept that in some locations it was only possible to see the major attractions of those areas. If there was a negative side to the tour it would have to be the cost of most of the optional excursions, which most people found to be excessive, in particular the Vatican Museums and Sistene Chapel where adult entrance fee is only 15 euros, but we paid 52 euros! Even allowing for the services of a guide for 1.5 hours, for 28 people the sums do not add up. In summary, we had an enjoyable trip, met some lovely people and saw lots of new places.
We had a wonderful time   0 , Australia, Aug 2011
We saw places we would never have seen had we just traveled independently. We did all the added extras and found it was great value for money. The areas that we went to were fantastic   0 , Australia, Aug 2011
The tour was fantastic. The tour guide (Carmel) was a wealth of knowledge of the areas we visited, the coach driver (Brian) what a great man, courteous, friendly and an overall nice gentleman. I think the most important part was getting to know the history of the United Kingdom, especially when we went to Ireland, Scotland and Wales listening to them speak in the native tongue and tasting their national food of the earlier periods in their history. Met alot of great people   0 , Australia, Aug 2011
The tour was great. Met alot of great people. It would be nice to have a one day break inbetween the tour to regain our energy. A day of just relaxing by the beach or other leisurely activities. However, need more details of optional tours. The glass blowing, diamond factory and leather factory, not for me, out of my price range....lol. Would definitely choose Global Journeys for any future travel   0 , Australia, Aug 2011
My thoughts...well from the first time we contacted Global Journeys to the end of our journey in America, it was such a well organized and pleasant experience. I would definitely choose Global Journeys for any further travel I planned to do in the future. Thank you Global Journeys for a wonderful holiday.
It is such a beautiful place that everyone should see it   0 , Australia, Jul 2011
Thoroughly enjoyed the trip. The tour director (Erol) & bus driver were excellent. My brother in law becamme ill in Canakkale. It is such a beautiful place that everyone should see it, especially those who have limited funds & choose not to go. I would not hesitate in using your tour group again & would recommend you to other people who ask. There were people on the trip who were not happy with accomodation. I had no concerns with accomodation all were of a standard I expected & most were above that. Difficult to please all the people all the time. Would have liked to have more evening meals free as food is cheap & so much choice - maybe lunches should be included & not dinners when staying in larger towns. Hope feedback is useful.
Thoroughly enjoyed our tour   0 , Australia, Jul 2011
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour, the driver (Dave) did an excellent job in several tight situations and the Tour guide (Charlie) was very professional and knowledgable. The hotels were excellent and the tour went very quickly. I would have no hesitation to recommend your company to our friends.
Cosmos is great value for money   1 , Australia, Jul 2011
Although hesitant about three coach tours back to back (my first time touring by coach) they all worked extremely well. Each tour got better perhaps due to the location being better each time. I think Cosmos is great value for money and the tour directors with 1 exception were a joy to be with, thoroughly professional and knowledgeable. Unfortunately ...read more I had to cut short the Italy tour and return home for a family illness. The tour director assisted with connecting flights and nothing was too much trouble. Extremely well organised, just needs a little fine tuning   3 , Australia, Jul 2011
We had a great time, it was very well organised, we saw amazing things. I don't really have complaints, more constructive criticism. We were on a tour of 37 people. At the introductory meeting I feel we should have been introduced one by one, very briefly, or at least given name tags. Our guide Lino delivered instructions and outlined the optional tours ...read more including one that night in Rome (50 euros each?) which no-one took. He then closed the meeting and we went our separate ways. A much better way would have been to have an included dinner to get some cohesion in the group. It was 6-7 days before we learned everyone's names, and that was because I made a big effort on the ferry to Greece, to make sure we knew who was who. Each time Lino had to call out our names for hotel rooms etc, he always used our surnames, so we had no help with names then. More importantly..... the last 'farewell dinner' an exorbitantly charged event (65 euros I think) most definitely should have been included, so everyone would have been there. There were 18 of us there that night. I assumed we were all going and was really disappointed that half the group were not there. 65 euros for that dinner was appalling, even though we were taken on a train ride around the Acropolis. We would have opted out at that price, but when we booked it and paid for it (many days earlier) we did not know the others well enough to ask them if they were attending. It should have been included - no question! My only complaint is that these optional tours were way too expensive. We should have done research before we left Sydney and we would have realised we could have done these tours on our own and saved hundreds of euros. I will suggest that later on trip advisor. Positives, and there are many. The hotels were excellent, the breakfasts fantastic, the buses very comfortable. We thought our guide, Lino, was okay. That was before we met the guide we had on the cruise. Marieke was exceptional, very calm, efficient and so likeable. She went to a lot of trouble to ensure our embarking and disembarking went smoothly. The disembarkation could have been very ugly, due to a taxi strike and union blockade. Marieke arranged it that we got to our bus without a single problem. She knew our names from day one, only 16 to learn, but she did make the effort. She seemed to enjoy the experience which made it better for us. I would not hesitate to go with Cosmos again. As I said earlier it was extremely well organised, just needs a little fine tuning.
An excellent experience overall   0 , Australia, Jul 2011
On the positive side it was an excellent experience overall. The tour exceeded my expectations in so many ways so I have to say fantastic. Value for money vacation of a lifetime. Also the Kensington Close hotel (at the end of the British tour) room was so small and claustrophobic (due to renovation) it was depressing just being in there. I couldn't wait to leave. Both negative incidents happened at the end of each tour making us wonder whether they just want to get rid of you quickly as their job is done. Leaves you with a bad feeling after such an excellent time touring. I feel the London section of tours needs some fixing as they don't do their jobs very well. Excellent work by Global Journeys. Will recommend to others.
Far surpassed any expectations   0 , Australia, Jun 2011
My inaugural tour with Cosmos far surpassed any expectations that I had and each day continued to impress. Thanks to all concerned.
The price was good and the timing suited us perfectly   0 , Australia, Jun 2011
The trip was wonderful. Thoroughly enjoyed the coach and the tour director with his enormous wealth of information. The driver was extremely careful and mindful of his passengers.
