Enjoyed the tour especially with 90% Australians in the group 1 , Australia, Aug 2012
I enjoyed the All About Europe tour (previously named European Masterpiece) with Cosmos especially with 90% Australians in the group of 49. We had a great tour director & driver which made all the difference, and a co-operative and friendly tour group. The optional tour dinners and included dinners were generally disappointing except for Olympia. The read more worst being Auditori in Barcelona where it was inadequate. The included tours were minimal and you need to join the optional tours to see more of the iconic sights. Overall it was a great enjoyable experience but this tour does not suit those who are unable to walk longer distances or climb stairs. It is quite fast paced but I coped well. Thanks.
No major issues. Thanks to Global Journeys and Cosmos 1 , Australia, Aug 2012
The All About Europe tour (previously named European Masterpiece) gave us all that we wanted and that was to get a taste of Europe by visiting as many countries as possible in a given time. This has now given us an insight as to which European countries we could return to. This being said the tour was rated toward leisurely but could be upgraded one read more notch. Maybe the tour could be extended by about 3 days as toward the end we were doing long days in the bus and arriving late (7pm) at our next destination which would then only be overnight. Our tour director Truss was just fantastic and did all she could to assist and guide and provide information even down to whether ladies could wear heels or flatter shoes. The number of people on the tour could have been smaller, we had 49 and believe that 35 to 40 would be a better size. There were plenty of optional extras to choose from which were good value. We have come away from this trip with some extra friends. The majority of the accommodation was great, all was comfortable and clean, some just a bit squeezy. All in all we had a great time and had no major issues. Thanks to Global Journeys and Cosmos.
Enjoyed our Cosmos tour to Normandy. 1 Paris, Normandy and the Loire , Australia, Aug 2012
Enjoyed our Cosmos tour to Normandy. Frances at Global Journeys was very helpful in organising everything and answering our questions before departure.
Excellent service but would have liked a slower pace 1 The Best of Europe , Australia, Aug 2012
Excellent service by Global Journeys and Cosmos however this type of tour is a bit hectic for me and would prefer a tour of more leisure days and less driving.
Fabulous trip & well organised 1 Italy's Best , Australia, Aug 2012
Loved our European magic tour which we picked up in Paris and ended in Rome. It was really well organised, and we had a wonderful director 'Patricia' and driver Micheale. The included dinner in Lucerne was of extremely poor quality, and the optional dinner in Venice was also very poor. The rest of the tour was fabulous especially the trip up Titless mountain in Switzerland.
I am glad that we did the trip 1 The British Isles in Depth , Australia, Aug 2012
Now that we have been home for a while and been through the photo's, we are enjoying the trip even more than when we were there. Sorry to say we were disappointed with the trip at the time - it was too intense, not enough time to really enjoy the townships and too much time in souvenir shops (which we are not interested in). A lot of times we were taken read more to the outskirts of the towns so that you didn't have enough time to even walk in and have a look at the township, but when we did get to visit the towns they were great. Our tour guide did a lot of talking and repeating himself, made a lot of mistakes with pointing out positions of things (he would say to look right and the object would be on the left etc.) he said that he had been doing his job for over 20yrs so he should have had it right by now. There was one place on our itenerary that we were not even taken to and it wasn't until the day we were supposed to be going there that we were told that we would not be taken there as it was closed 3yrs before hand. Accommodation was great on the whole, there were a couple of not so good places but all in all it was fine. Meals were great bar one night when we had what could only be classed as a cheap cafe meal. We were all disappointed that we did not get the time to go into Stonehenge or have the time to do so, but glad we got to at least stop and take photo's over the fence. So yes, there were some disappointments but we would never have seen as much as we saw if we had not done the trip. We have a good idea where we would like to go back and see and I think that this is really the purpose for a trip like this one. As I said at the beginning, we are really enjoying the photo's and re-living the good times so I am glad that we did the trip.
We could not have asked for a better tour guide and driver 1 , Australia, Aug 2012
We all thought the itinerary, logistics, accommodation & included activities were excellent value for money. We could not have asked for a better tour guide (Alex) and driver (Georgio) - they were professional and also took extra time to ensure we all had a good time. Their attention to detail and the extra mile they went to, ensured the tour was better read more than we expected. We would definitely consider travelling with Cosmos again! Many thanks also to Georgie who had to pull lots of strings to get us on the tour & flights at such short notice! - less than 4 weeks from the start of the tour!
We enjoyed every single moment of the tour 1 Grand Tour of Britain & Ireland , Australia, Aug 2012
Brian and I had the most wonderful time on our tour. We found that everywhere we visited people went out of their way to help us. We enjoyed every single moment of the tour. We certainly visited some very interesting destinations. Our tour director, Roseanne Forster was amazing. She made our touring so interesting. She is so knowledgable about the read more history of the United Kingdom and Ireland. We were so very lucky to have had her as our tour director. We were a small group of 21 and all of us really got to know each other really well and had some fun times. Congratulations to Global Journeys and thank you so much four our touring experience!
The tour on the whole was excellent 1 Gourmet Rome, Sorrento & Capri , Australia, Aug 2012
The Tour guide, JP (GianPaulo), was fantastic, he worked really hard to ensure everyone had a great time. We were lucky, the group on the tour were very friendly and easy going. Mostly the accommodation was good. Accommodation in Sicily was questionable, especially at Syracuse and again at Raggiomanio (sorry, may have the spelling wrong). While everyone read more enjoys seeing ruins and ancient sites, perhaps it should be looked into at visiting say farming communities or fishing villages. Most of the tour believed also that the optional excursion for the last afternoon in Palermo, should not be optional, but included. We caught a ferry that evening from Palermo to Naples. For those who did not take the tour, they did not have a room to return too and had to wait in the lobby area of the hotel - most of the day. Also, the ferry from Naples was incredibly noisy. Again, most of the tour believe that in a way we were ripped off for a day by the trip from Naples to Rome. This day was taken up by getting off a ferry, an awful breakfast at a cafe at the port, then bus to airport, drop people off and wait for people from another tour to join us to be transferred back to Rome, plus waiting for the bus. This was called a 'tour day' but really was a wasted day and could be better planned by Cosmos and Globus. Likewise for the first day in Rome, the hotel is a long way from the centre of Rome, there is a Metro, but we are restricted by a tour meeting. That hotel, the staff were not welcoming nor helpful and it was noisy. However, some negatives aside, we had a wonderful tour, and enjoyed it. It was not fast paced which was great, there was ample free time, and we loved having porter service for our luggage. And as I have said above, the Tour guide and bus drivers were fantastic!
Tour was wonderful, met some great people 1 Gourmet Rome, Sorrento & Capri , Australia, Aug 2012
The tour was a lot of fun. Our guide JP was brilliant, coped very well and made everyone feel very comfortable. At times the pre-organised meals were awful - just because we are in Italy does not mean we want pasta all the time. Plus some of the pre-organised restaurants were not very good. Accommodation was basically good, however, in Sicily, some read more of the hotels were pretty bad and in areas that had nothing to offer. I think this is because of the sites that we were taken too, all good sites with lots of history but in places that really do not have much else. The organisers of the tours need to realise that people do not want to see ruins all the time, visits to local farming communities and also to fishing communities would be wonderful. having said the above, on the whole, the tour was wonderful, met some great people and the porter service from the coach to the hotel and back to the coach was fantastic.
From beginning to end, we felt comfortable and secure 1 The Best of Europe with London , Australia, Aug 2012
From the beginning through to the end of our tour, we felt comfortable and secure. Our tour was organized without feeling rushed, the mix of other travelers on the coach was fantastic. Everyone blended well and friendships were made. The accommodation was second to none, clean, comfortable and staff were helpful and friendly. Our Tour guide and coach read more driver entertained the group and supported everyone's needs without hassle. This was my first trip abroad, wouldn't have experienced or seen so much had I went with my first thoughts of traveling independently. Everything was sorted for us, never had the worry of carting luggage or wondering where we were going to sleep. I particularly enjoyed some of the out of the main center hotels as after visiting these interesting yet sometimes crowed centers were exhausting. Returning to the not so busy suburbs relaxing in local restaurants or having an evening drink in local cafe's was all part of the experience. Thanks again.
Had a terrific time on our Cosmos tour 1 Eastern US & Canada Grand Vacation , Australia, Aug 2012
Had a terrific time on our Cosmos tour. Tour guide was informative (despite being overall quite bossy re his 'rules'). Plus the extra guides for each city really were valuable sources of knowledge. Optional excursions were worthwhile and overall my husband and I really enjoyed the experience. Impressed with the overall standard of the hotels. Also the read more majority supplied really nice and varied breakfasts at a reasonable price, which provided a great start to the day. Pace was fast on the tour but allowed us to cover so much ground and see so much in the 2 weeks. In hindsight I am amazed at how much we saw and learnt. We liked the amount of flexibility in the free time too. Allowed people to vary the pace for themselves if they were tired etc. Found Global Journeys to be easy to book a tour through and very responsive when questions were asked. Well done!
Accommodation was comfortable and often well situated 1 Trans-American Adventure , Australia, Aug 2012
The coverage of the country in the time given was very good. Accommodation was comfortable and often well situated. Rooms for a single traveller were very spacious and comfortable. Touring coach was very crowded and the lack of a central door made leaving the coach at stops, if situated at the back, very slow. Tour guide and bus driver were excellent.
Too many churches and not enough time to explore 1 Grand Tour of France , Australia, Aug 2012
Too many churches and not enough time to explore the towns visited. Quality of the food was disappointing. A few hotels had rooms that were very small. Tour would have been better if there was more time to relax after each day's travel instead of arriving at 5 or 6 pm everyday. Tour director was good and tried his best to make the holiday enjoyable. read more Travel arrangements from Cosmos and Global Journeys were good. However, the tour comprised mainly senior persons. While the group members were all very nice people, if I had known this, I would not have joined this tour. Cosmos should have been more open about this information. (Ed. Hi Wai Leng - Cosmos tours are 'open age' tours and generally have a good mix of ages, but tend to be 40+ however you really have to wait and see when you arrive. The next departure may have had more of a mix of younger clients - or not. These details are listed throughout our website - have a look at our 'Operators' section to compare - I hope that helps for your next trip!).
Excellent tour, would have liked more time in Pennsylvania 1 Eastern US & Canada Grand Vacation , Australia, Aug 2012
Overall the tour was excellent. Fellow travelling companions on bus were great. Would have liked to have had more time in Pennsylvania.
Thanks for your great service and we'll be back 1 The British Isles in Depth , Australia, Aug 2012
We had a lovely 21 day tour over the UK and Ireland and would like to give tour guide Bob Kenny and driver Richard Walker high praise. Bob was very up to date with the local histories of the various places we went to which we found very interesting. To top that off he would play the appropriate music to fit in with what we saw. Richard was an excellent read more driver especially in the busy towns/cities and along those narrow windy tracks in Scotland and the Irish Republic.
I knew I was in good hands 1 The British Isles in Depth , Australia, Aug 2012
Tour was well organised; tour guide very knowledgeable and accommodating; tour driver was highly skilled and cute! and overall I couldn't have asked for much more. Well maybe a couple of things - some stops especially those scheduled early morning (ie 8.30am) left us in places where nothing was open, couldn't even get a coffee, and out of the ten dinners read more provided after the third or fourth the choice seemed very familiar. ie pork, fish, chicken. All hotels were great for what they were, the up market hotels were fantastic with prices to match, and the well used but comfy ones were comfy with reasonable prices. I'm already planning my next tour and I'm positive I'll use Cosmos & Global Journeys again...all in all I knew I was in good hands.
No complaints 1 , Australia, Aug 2012
The guide provided alot of great information on the countries and we saw so much in only 3 weeks it was great, no complaints.
We highly recommend this tour and Cosmos 1 , Australia, Aug 2012
We had a great time. The itinerary was ideal in that it catered for those who wanted a sedate type holiday and still see the great sites, while at the same time catering for those who wanted a more 'full-on' experience via the optional excursions. Our tour guide, Aleesia, was amazing. Always helpful, cheery and resourceful when dealing with the unexpected read more mishaps. The very skillful coach drivers, Ernesto and Giovanni, were always courteous, friendly and helpful. Our travelling companions were great. Nine people from this tour are about to have a second reunion on Australia Day. We highly recommend this tour and Cosmos. We would like to travel with Cosmos when we tour the USA in the future.
Very comprehensive tour 1 The Best of Europe , Australia, Aug 2012
Our tour guide, Marise was excellent and very helpful (also very patient with some quite difficult people!). The tour was very comprehensive and the 'Whispers' are excellent and really enhance the tour experience.
