Perfect way of exploring any country 1
Genny Herbert , Australia, Jun 2013
Rome to London is one of the only one way tours. Perfect way of exploring any country. For a basis tour package hotels and tour director were appropriate and of high standard for Australians.
My wife and I enjoyed the tour very much. We traveled through many of the regions of France and saw some very beautiful country as well as castles and historic sites. Our tour guide, Edo, was excellent. He is very knowledgeable, entertaining and always willing to help if you need any assistance. I would recommend this tour to anyone.
Hannah handled my booking in a very professional and timely manner and communicated well during the booking process. Will make future bookings and will recommend Global Journeys to friends.
The early morning starts took some getting used to, cases outside the door by 7am, 7.30am. Great when we had two nights in the one stop, or a later start. Buying lunch each day and sometimes our evening meal proved costly. I would also have liked a map of the various places we stopped for an hour or so, to be able to confidently move away from the coach. read more Three weeks was probably a little long to be on a coach, yet overall we had a great time. We covered such amazing places, it was well worth the time spent on this trip.
Very good tour 2

I enjoyed this tour. We visited some very nice and beautiful places in both Spain and Portugal. The hotels were all pretty nice and our tour guide was super nice, friendly and very helpful. The coach was comfortable and the optional dinners and shows were also very enjoyable.
It was a truly worthwhile adventure. I would recommend it to everyone, Americans included. We saw almost everything American that we had been wanting to see. For Weeks after I kept dreaming we were still on the tour!
Took in a lot more than we might have on our own

Alaska & the Yukon
Chris Scott, Australia, May 2013
We benefited from the tour escort and driver's local experience and managed to take in a lot more than we might have on our own. Motels in Alaska can be low in the star count so it is best to be prepared for this.
What an amazing tour this was. We were absolutely thrilled with the amount of USA we saw and experienced. The driver, coach and tour director were amazing. I could not have asked for any more from a coach holiday. Loved every minute of it.
The tour was everything we expected and more. Our rooms in the hotels were all good once we were out of London. The one in London was a bit small but had an excellent location. There were some places we would have liked to spend more time in but understand that we did everything possible in the 21 days we had. The tour has made us hungry for more and read more we will probably return to do the things we missed out on. Our bus driver Mark and tour director Angela were exceptional. Would recommend this tour to anyone that has not been to the UK as you really get a taste of everything and some really excellent optional excursions are available.
From our arrival in Seattle to our tour ending in Vancouver we were extremely well looked after by our Tour Guide/Leader. Elaine was both knowledgeable about the sites visited and well organised in maintaining the itinerary. Our driver was very professional and helpful. The accommodations were more than adequate, clean, comfortable and conveniently read more located. We had a great time.
Very enjoyable and excellent value for money

Very enjoyable and excellent value for money. A few extras were included which was a surprise and these included entrance to Butchart Gardens and the Ice Explorer trip to Columbia Icefield. The tour director had a great personality and was extremely knowledgeable and it was fantastic that she was from the area as she knew so much local information. read more The driver was excellent and enabled us to stop or slow down when wild animals were seen on the highways and as a result all passengers were able to take heaps of photos of bear, elk, deer and moose. For a basic tour I was totally impressed with the standard of accommodations. All rooms were comfortable and pleasant to relax in after a long busy day.
The Cosmos coach tour section was fabulous! This was due to the Tour Director Sue Arnott & driver Steve. Sue was very knowledgeable about the area, history, best places to eat, local stories, etc & Steve kept on time & the bus in excellent condition. Sue really went the extra mile, suggested alternatives & enhancements to the tour, was a lot of fun, read more worked tirelessly to make sure we got to each booking on time & sorted out any issues promptly & without fuss. We were a bit disapointed the average age of those on the tour were at least 10 years older than us. Although most of the people were very nice, we would have preferred to be with people in their 40's, not late 50's up to late 80's! Accommodation was good except for Bow Lodge in Banff & Sandman in Vancouver - both were very average & Sandman had plumbing issues in our room. The Holland America cruise was quite disappointing. The average age was at least 20 years older than us. We felt there was a huge focus on selling & it was unclear what was included & what cost extra. The scenery was amazing but was forever being interrupted by the photographers trying to sell you a photo. We intend to advise Holland America about the conduct of their Art Auctioneer Lawrence who insulted us. We were surprised and annoyed we had to provide a credit card on registration with the expectation that we would spend $60 US pppd. We didn't even spend 1/2 that by the end of the cruise & we hadn't been advised by Global Journeys at any point. Tendering to shore in Juneau took 1.5 hr - way too much time. In all 3 ports it was sell, sell, sell so by the time we arrived at the last stop in Ketchikan we were very tired of store owners & their kids trying to pull us into the shop. Many of them were reluctant to give out the promoted 'free' jewellery & always, always tried to sell us something. For first time cruisers, we weren't very impressed & unlikely to take another one.
Itinerary was excellent, not too long but comprehensive

The Canadian Rockies

The itinerary was excellent, not too long but comprehensive. The coach was comfortable and the driver (John) great. The accommodation throughout was fine and the Royal Scots (Victoria) was brilliant. We were very lucky with the weather and the wildlife. The Tour group, mainly aussies, were great to get on with. Last but not least our Tour Guide, Alma, read more was amazing. She kept us bright & bubbly, she was a goldmine of information about history/wildlife/local customs/geology and the list goes on. I would be happy to seek out which tours she was hosting and book them. She was that good.
Our Tour Director Barbara was fantastic and really made the trip so enjoyable. I'm not one for guided tours but took this one because my 80yr old mother wanted to take the trip and this was the best way possible. I'm glad I did it now as the knowledge given and the patience shown by our very professional tour director was marvellous. Loved it. I would do it again.
Will definitely go Global Journeys & Cosmos again

We had a great time, tour director Barbara was fantastic and the coach driver John was the best! Will definitely go Global Journeys & Cosmos again.
The tour packed in all the things we wanted to see and still left us with some free time for ourselves. Easy going and good guide who lived in the country and spoke excellent English.
Excellent tour director and competent and friendly driver. Included sightseeing was extensive and appropriate. Bus was comfortable but had some minor airconditioning and internal aesthetic problems. Standard of accommodation varied considerably from place to place. All was acceptable but some was old and lacked maintenance. No meals were included and read more this was one thing that attracted us. Two unexpected continental breakfasts were included. Only did a few optional tours but these were good. Overall would give it a high rating.
Provided us with all the highlights of Italy that were promised 1
Ian Allmand, Australia, May 2013
This was my first organised tour and it provided us with all the highlights of Italy that were promised. I have to say that these tours are not for me and I realise that now. The tour director and driver were fine but my main issue was with us being left in places and told to be back at the coach at a certain time, but no tour guides or real information read more of the places of interest. We found ourselves looking at beautiful buildings and landmarks but generally had no idea of what they were. The cost of hiring local guides would have been insignificant when shared by everyone on board and would have added so much to the appreciation of the area.
From day one the help and support from Yvonne Brooks at Global Journeys to organise our tour was par excellence. There was always a very quick response from Yvonne to any query we had and she was able to offer advice as to where we could book trains etc for our onward journey. The land tour itself was very interesting but at times some local guides read more went into too much detail on history which became a little boring. Hotels were comfortable and meals were very good. The cruise section took us to all the islands we wanted to see and we enjoyed this immensely and all tours on land ran like clockwork. We were very fortunate to have Tour Director Marieanna who was most helpful and pleasant to be with and was able to keep everybody on time which is a big plus when sharing a trip with a large number of travellers. We would highly recommend this tour to any person contemplating a Greek Tour.
Lots of miles covered in a short period of time. I think it could be just a few days longer and make a couple of the days shorter driving time. Booking with Georgie at Global Journeys was fantastic, so very helpful in every way. We had originally started with a Flight Centre agent, which was a bad experience, and Georgie made everything seem so easy, read more thank you so much. Really appreciate that type of service over the internet. I would certainly deal with Global Journeys directly again for our next holiday.
