Beautiful scenery & architecture, great food and people 3 , Australia, Aug 2013
I feel that overall the tour was great - Spain is so interesting, steeped in history, beautiful scenery & architecture, great food, people and so many other wonderful things about the country. There was something stunning and interesting in every place we visited but it would have been great to have more time in Toledo and Ronda - both places were so read more beautiful we all wanted more time to explore. I do feel however that you should provide more information in the brochure and the tour information about the places to be visited as generally the descriptions are scant and rather boring. Perhaps also give more suggestions on places to visit and things to do in each place that are not included in the tour itinerary. The accommodation was generally of a good standard, if at times a little out of the way. Holiday Inn Madrid was well located to city centre with bus & metro services right outside the door. But what were they thinking when they designed the bathroom - the space between the toilet & bidet is so small that even my skinny legs could barely fit and you need to sit on an angle to use the toilet - I wonder how the 'bigger' members of the group managed? We stayed in Hotel Abba, Madrid on the last night of the tour and whilst a nicer property it's much further out of the city centre so my preference would be to stay at Holiday Inn. Hotel Don Paco in Seville was good and the rooftop swimming pool and bar were a definite hit with the group. Las Piramides Fuengirola - great location but the hotel is looking very tired and interesting mixture of decorating styles - a little bit of Egyptian, Mediterranean, Asian, Classic, ultra modern. Definitely in need of refurbishment and they should choose a style and stick with it! Estefania our tour director was lovely and provided a lot of commentary along the way. The driver, Jesus, was excellent and the coach was very clean and comfortable. Rest stops every 2 or so hours were good and nice locations. Another suggestion I would like to make is that on the 'at leisure' days it would be good for the tour director to be available in the hotel lobby for about 1 hour in the morning and again late afternoon/early evening should passengers require information and suggestions on where to go and what to do in that particular city. This would also be opportunity for pax to contact tour director if they have any issues. The tour director could also provide pax with some general information about each city. +e.g. city map, transport information, etc. Would definitely do another Cosmos tour and book with Global Journeys and having done it once I have a better idea of what to expect. Thanks.
Everything done for you.... My kind of holiday 2 From Dublin to London , Australia, Jul 2013
It was great! Nothing to organise, no decisions, no driving, everything done for you.... My kind of holiday. Thank you.
Top marks on a well organised tour 4 From Dublin to London , Australia, Jul 2013
I had just completed a 26 day tour of Europe and was therefore able to compare two different companies, their coaches, the tour leader. The type of accommodation was only budget three star in Europe so the better motels in Wales/Ireland are not fair to compare, because of course they were more excellent. I can state though how nice it was to have the read more bags delivered to our door, to have lifts in all motels, and to have excellent dining rooms in each place, with great food (wow cooked breakfasts) (not just the Europe bread and cheese types of offerings.) Our tour guide was Tara, a wealth of information on the history of England, Wales and Ireland. She just shared what was in her head, very few notes, her memory was amazing. The coach had clean windows every morning, thank you Alex. My previous Europe Coach was not as good at ensuring excellent photo opportunities. The pace was fast, but then we had a lot to see in only a short seven days. I did not though appreciate having a place on the itinerary, such as Visit to Stonehenge and then find we had to pay to enter. If it is listed as a visit, then the price should be in the package. I heard a lot of complaints from coach passengers about the frequency of us having to dip into our pockets, and some of the prices seemed to be quite exhorbitant for what was offered. Especially the offer of a closing visit to Jersey Boys with a meal for 140 pounds. Good grief!! It would have to be a banquet for that! The extra events such as canal ride, Banquet in a castle, Visit Blarney Castle, Kiss the Blarney stone, Irish Pub (extremely dear) Guinness tour, were all excellent, and I am glad that I made the decision to do it all. Congratulations on a well organised tour. Top Marks.
We had an outstanding time, certainly recommend Cosmos 1 The Best of Europe with London , Australia, Jul 2013
We had an outstanding time from the moment we left the Hotel in Hammersmith until we returned to the hotel in Chelsea. Alina, our tour guide was so good in many ways and Luiggi our Bus driver was also excellent. Will certainly recommend Cosmos and will look to travel with them ourselves in the future.
A great experience 2 Greece & Aegean Islands Cruise , Australia, Jul 2013
The trip was a great experience, the service was great throughout Greece. The cruise ship was different however - the rooms were old and only single beds were available, which for a newly married couple was hard to deal with. Overall we had a great trip.
Loved every minute of it! 1 The British Isles in Depth , Australia, Jul 2013
A fast paced holiday but one that gave a really good overview of each area travelled to. An excellent guide who had a fantastic grasp on history and local knowledge, I really felt like I was being immersed in the local culture in each region especially with the optional activities. Pleasant and competent driver, I felt safe at all times. Loved every minute of it!
A great pace and value for money 6 , Australia, Jul 2013
The tour was great value for money and was at a great pace. Busy, busy. Hotels were very nice. Food in Moscow hotel was superb. Sometimes the Guide/s could have allowed a little leeway for the people that are a fair bit older and a bit slower. All in all great.
A truly memorable holiday 1 Trans-American Adventure , Australia, Jul 2013
Thank you to you Yvonne, and to Global Journeys for arranging a truly memorable holiday through Cosmos. The service you prided was indeed first class and we would have no hesitation in recommending you and Global Journeys for arranging overseas holidays. Cosmos could not have been more helpful if they had tried. We have travelled with Cosmos on many read more occasions as a couple and with groups of people and found this 23 day trip from east to west just amazing. The tour director Scotts knowledge of the many amazing places we visited was incredible and we were very fortunate to have the most wonderful and careful bus driver in John. As mentioned previously, having been on many Cosmos tours we both found this tour the best we have been associated with from all aspects in booking through Yvonne and Global Journeys, Cosmos and most importantly Scott and John and all the great people on the tour
Saw so many places and enjoyed each day 1 Trans-American Adventure , Australia, Jul 2013
We had a great holiday with our adventure across the USA. Great tour guide with Scott and great bus driver in John. Lots of laughs and great sense of humour. Saw so many places and enjoyed each day. Long days on the coach but is the only way to get across the country in the set time. Will travel with Cosmos again and looking forward to our next holiday.
After disembarking everything fell into place 1 Seven Countries, Venice & Paris , Australia, Jul 2013
We had a great tour group, with everyone being punctual and considerate. On reflection we were all at a bit of a loose end, once the ferry reached Calais, not knowing where we were to assemble and meet up with our tour guide, but after disembarking everything fell into place. Our tour guide Britt was very helpful and endeavored to meet all our needs. read more Yes the trip was on the go as indicated in the itinerary so we all came home a little weary. The only suggestion for improvement or variety on the trip as discussed by several on the trip was to have made the return journey to London via train, sorry not sure of the official name. Accommodation throughout the tour was good and meals supplied adequate. We would choose to travel as part of a tour group in the future at some stage.
This tour was terrific 1 Canadian Train Odyssey , Australia, Jul 2013
We didn't know really what to expect but the tour we went on was terrific. The buses were comfortable the accommodation was great except for Banff. The Banff hotel was clean and tidy but a bit run down. The staff at the reception were really nice, friendly and helpful so that made up for the disappointment of the hotel. The tour guides were excellent read more they were very knowledgeable, friendly and could not help you enough. The optional excursions we went on were great especially the diners in Quebec.
A taste of each country 2 Central Europe , Australia, Jul 2013
The itinerary was good - it provided me with a taste of each country. One of the best things about the tour was our guide Dodi (Dubvranka) - she was excellent!
The best experience I have ever had 1 , Australia, Jul 2013
It was the best experience I have ever had in my life, I am still living on the memories I have formed from my trip, still in contact with the friends I have made and I would do it all over again. You could not put a price on the experiences and the memories that I had during the 21 days.
Amazing tour, will definitely book through Global Journeys again 2 , Australia, Jul 2013
Our tour was absolutely amazing. We had an incredible tour guide Alison on our tour who knew absolutely everything about each place that we went to and was always willing to help us even if we wanted to do things on our own. It was incredibly fast paced, but we knew that if it we wanted to do and see the amount of things that we did on this tour we read more would be moving pretty quickly! Some places we would've liked to have stayed longer, but if we had done this on our own we never would have seen as much! Would definitely recommend Cosmos and especially Alison again as they were fantastic. Booking through Global Journeys was great and efficient, and was by far the cheapest compared to the multiple other quotes we received from several other businesses! Am hoping to travel again in the near future and if I decide to do another tour I will definitely be booking it through Global Journeys again.
Tour guide made no allowances for people who couldn't keep up 2 , Australia, Jul 2013
Hotels too far from city centres. Meals at hotels very poor, particularly Jurys Inn where two of the three mains offered were chilli. A lot of people walked out and ate elsewhere. Tour guide made no allowances for old people such as ourselves who couldn't keep up. There was nothing in the booking to say age would be a barrier. Breakfasts were satisfactory read more but 8 am start on the bus too early. (Ed. This trip changed slightly in 2019, so this review is based on the previous longer itinerary)
I am sure everyone considered the tour good value 1 , Australia, Jul 2013
I was a bit fearful of the tour before I started as I find it hard to be comfortable on any coach because of my height. However I was lucky and had 2 seats to myself but they were a bit hard. The tour itself was so well organised and informative that everybody enjoyed it. The Tour Director who all called 'Beer' was a joy to listen to and is so knowledgeable. read more Her organising was always correct and done in a very sociable manner. The organised evening dinners were very good and the Musical Evening in Vienna a credit to whoever organised that. I am sure that everyone considered the tour good value. I did enjoy the tour but given a choice I would always choose a cruise, which I have done for 2014.
I would definitely consider another Cosmos tour again 3 , Australia, Jul 2013
I thoroughly enjoyed the tour as it was well organised and the tour director was very informative, helpful and gave good guidance. And coach driver was very nice and skillful on some of the tougher roads. There were plenty of photo stops and enough (but not too many) pit stops to take a good breather. Most of the cities we stayed at were interesting read more in their own way, and the provided breakfasts and dinners in general ranged from good to excellent, esp. some of the buffet dinners. I really enjoyed most of the optional excursions as well, especially the Sami experience. But I was a little disappointed with the Rock Carvings excursion. My tour consultant, Hannah, handled all my travel needs and questions really well, and was very efficient at organising all the documents that I required during the tour. I would definitely consider another Cosmos tour again, and would highly recommend Global Journeys to my friends and family.
One of the best we have done! 2 Exploring America's National Parks , Australia, Jul 2013
Our tour was excellent, made more so by our very knowledgable tour leader Daniel. One of the best we have done!
Very pleased with the support from Global Journeys 2 , Australia, Jul 2013
I am very happy with the tour overall. The tour director is the best I have ever met, she is very conscientious, attentive and responsible. The programs are well planned to give us enough free time. The only thing I would mention is that the hotels chosen do not have air conditioning which has become a necessity due to the hot weather. Georgie, our read more Global Journeys Consultant was very helpful and efficient. I was very pleased with the support she gave me.
Ticked all boxes, we have enjoyed our tour tremendously 5 , Australia, Jul 2013
The Grand European from 5 July to 25 July 2013 was really great. Due to the peak season, our coach was full with 48 tourists plus a Bus Driver and a Tour Director. We found the tour very well planned, organised and executed. It has met our expectations and ticked all boxes, we have enjoyed it tremendously. Some people on the same tour with us seemed read more to think that it was fast paced, but we found it ok, otherwise we would need 2 months rather than 3 weeks for the tour. There are many many things to see, history, places etc. in Europe that you could basically spend months exploring the continent. We covered 7,000km over 3 weeks, seeing many cities, places, people, churches etc. experienced many different cultures, foods, languages etc. What made the tour even more enjoyable was the friendliness, co-operation and attitudes of fellow travellers and excellent skills and experience of our tour Bus Driver and Director. Thanks to you all for making the trip a success and please keep in touch. Global Journeys was excellent in booking and arranging all details for the tour, well done and thank you especially to Hannah - our consultant who helped us booking the tour. We are looking forward to our next holiday booked with Global Journeys.
