A very relaxing tour stopping in spectacular places 1 Gourmet Rome, Sorrento & Capri , Australia, May 2012
Our tour was of the Amalfi coast and Capri. We absolutely loved the tour and we loved the tour director Savio. It was a very relaxing tour stopping in spectacular places with amazing scenery especially Capri. We have recommended this tour to all our friends. We will certainly be looking at your site when we book future tours as we have travelled with read more you before and always have been happy.
We really enjoyed our trip to France 1 Paris, Normandy and the Loire , Australia, May 2012
It was our first Bus Tour and we will probably do more. Our tour guide, Ricardo was excellent, knowledgeable and very easy to get along with, and a couple of the local guides were also very good. The service and the places we saw were excellent. Out of all the hotels we stayed in only one was very disappointing, thankfully it was only for one night. read more For ease of travel it was great and we didn't have to worry about our luggage for the whole tour, it was always on the bus for us and in our hotel room when we arrived, my husband loved that. We would recommend Global Journeys to our friends.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves 3 Trans-American Adventure , Australia, May 2012
The tour was very good and we had a brilliant tour guide in Scott and a great driver in Eric. We saw so much and the only part which for us Australians and English on board was a rather long boring day was the touring around Washington visiting the war cemeteries as visiting so many became rather tedious and time could have been better spent touring read more around Washington. Yellowstone Park could all have been seen in one day and then perhaps the long drive from there to next town could have been halved by staying overnight somewhere else. When we booked our tour we were not informed that shuttle pick up was included and as we didn't get our tickets until 2 weeks before we left, (Ed. This is standard from Cosmos) we only discovered it then but we had already booked our own shuttle. Some of the people on the coach trip informed us they had had a shuttle provided to pick them up at New York as well so that was rather disappointing that this information was never given to us. The New York Hotel - Holiday Inn Express Times Square - was not very good. Good location but our room was never cleaned properly and we had to keep asking for soap and towels. We were there for 6 days and the floor was never vacuumed. The restaurant area is so tiny and badly set up so that everyone congregates in one corner trying to cook toast and get cereal and never enough seating for all the guests.
A great trip made even better by great our tour guide and driver 2 Trans-American Adventure , Australia, May 2012
Was a great trip - made even better by great our tour guide Scott and driver Eric. The only couple of things from a non American point of view was that the visit in Washington of all the cemeteries was just too much and everyone on our coach complained that after 2 we didin't need to see any more! Visit to Jacksonville was not something one could get read more excited over - perhaps just make the Yellowstone National Park a one day trip. Recommending to our friends who intend to take this trip this year.
An exceptional value for money 1 The Best of Britain & Ireland , Australia, May 2012
An exceptional value for money tour where all things had been considered and covered by Cosmos. Great itinerary and well planned tour set at a good pace, allowing time to explore by yourself or with new found friends. Our Tour Director was extremely well versed in the history of sites and places driven through during the tour. Hotels and meals were read more all of good quality. The coach was comfortable and the driver made you feel totally safe whilst on the road. Yvonne was our Tour Consultant and it was a pleasure to deal with her on the phone and via email. Yvonne delivered as promised all information on time and in detail. No question was too hard for her and made my first overseas tour a wonderful experience. I will certainly use Global Journeys again to arrange my next tour.
Thoroughly recommend this tour 1 , Australia, May 2012
Thoroughly recommend this tour. Chris Muffet our Tour Host was excellent as was our driver Georgio. Pace was great, even with both of us in our 70's, we never missed anything.
Would we do another trip with Cosmos - YES WE WOULD! 2 , Australia, May 2012
Basically the tour was great but a few things were annoying, the first is we were all told to meet at the Novotel in London so we were annoyed when we went miles out of our way to pick up a couple and took perhaps an extra hour to clear London, it was even worse when we took them back in peak hour traffic - inconvenience everyone for the sake of two read more people was not acceptable in my opinion. The trip itself was great but a few hotels were sub standard in our opinion. I was only disappointed in three but can honestly say that all hotels were clean and tidy. The Mercedes bus we travelled on was very good but when they were having problems with it, so replaced it with another coach which was a Scania and this bus was disappointing. It also had a lot of problems and kept having to be repaired, I think 5 breakdowns in all, but only one that was done while we were on board. The guide was a young lad named Billie and he was great. He went out of his way to make the journey a great success and I see a bright future for him. The coach driver Antonio was not friendly at all and I felt we were an inconvenience to him. When Antonio had to have a break we had a driver called Vito and he was a happy fellow always smiling. We had him for 4 days - all the people on the bus liked him. When Antonio rejoined us he was a lot happier. Personally I found him more pleasant, but a few people were still not happy with him. I was not one of those. After all this dribble I guess that what you really want to know is whether we would we do another trip using Cosmos, and the answer to that is easy - YES WE WOULD! P.S. All our fellow passengers were a Bloody Good Mob. P.P.S. Yvonne at Global Journeys was great as well (very helpful).
Saw most of the tourist attractions on our parents bucket list 1 , Australia, May 2012
2 Adult daughters travelling for the 1st time overseas with their parents in their 80s! This tour enabled us to travel through England into Scotland to see most of the tourist attractions on our parents bucket list with ease. (Ed. This trip changed slightly in 2019, so this review is based on the previous longer itinerary)
We had the best time and we're looking forward to the next! 1 The Canadian Rockies , Australia, May 2012
Had a fantastic time. The combined talents of the Tour Guide 'Down town' Linda Brown and Mickey the bus driver gave us the best experience of travelling in the Canadian Rockies. They went far beyond what was expected of them. If there was any spare time they managed to find something that was not in the brochure to take us to. The knowledge that Linda read more had and the passion she had for her country was carried over into the tour. She had handouts, books to show about the areas that we were travelling through. DVDs also. Music - you name it she had it. We had the best time and we are looking forward to the next one!
Will definitely book with Global Journeys again 2 Spain, Portugal & Morocco , Australia, May 2012
I found booking through Global Journeys very easy and the saving was great. The tour guide and bus driver were fantastic and very helpful. Some of the hotels and meals were sub standard. Air-conditioning was a major problem, particularly in Morocco. I will definitely book with Global Journeys again, but I am not sure whether I would go on another Cosmos tour.
What more could one expect? 2 The Magic of the Italian Lakes , Australia, May 2012
Good coach and driver, good tour director, good hotels and a very well planned itinerary. What more could one expect? And all for a very modest price. No long tiring drives and lots of free time and the optional excursions were also very good.
Only problem with the trip, was that it was too short! 1 The British Isles in Depth , Australia, May 2012
My sister and I found our travel experience to be very positive. Having never been so far overseas before we found the tour option was a great introduction to overseas travel and an overview of areas that we may like to revisit and spend a lengthier period of time in. We met a lot of great people from all different walks of life, and both our tour director read more and driver were very knowledgeable and professional. I can't speak highly enough of our travel consultant Frances who took the stress out of making travel arrangements and was easy to contact for enquiries and support. The only problem with the trip, was that it was too short!
The Grand Tour Of Spain was a great experience 1 , Australia, May 2012
Jaao, our Tour Director was excellent, young and a very interesting person . We became close friends . Re the itinerary my only criticism would be that we had insufficient time in Barcelona, the included city tour was poor; i.e. we drove past the Gaudi houses at traffic speed, too fast to even take a proper photo. At least one more full day is required read more so a full day tour can be taken . One guy on the tour did this, by not doing the city tour and the option to Montserrat.(which we did ). The 4 of us did all the optionals, they were all good. The dinner in Seville was a highlight, as was the optional sightseeing tour. The optional tour to Toledo was also very good. The Flamenco evening in Barcelona was also a highlight. The accommodation was of a very good standard, however it would be better if they were closer to the city centres, particularly in Madrid and Barcelona, (however, the hotel in Barcelona was fabulous) I think our favorite city was Valencia, and having a full day on our own to look around was perfect. This is what is needed in Barcelona; even if it means adding a day to the tour. I hope that my comments may prove useful. In closing, Jaoa the Tour Director was great, and deserves a bonus! (Ed. This trip has changed this season, so this review refers to a slightly different itinerary.)
Have recommended this tour to friends and family 1 Focus on Scandinavia , Australia, May 2012
I had booked 2 tours, one with Cosmos for Focus on Scandinavia and Insight's European Explorer. I was surprised by the quality of hotels and food and overall on the Cosmos tour. I actually expected more from Insight after touring with Cosmos and was a little disappointed. I love recommending the Cosmos Focus on Scandinavia to our friends and family read more - I was so impresssed. Global Journeys made the bookings so easy for us and also recommend everyone to use them.
Would definitely do this tour again 1 , Australia, May 2012
Tour was well organized with great tour director and very competent driver, however the last day from Calais on the ferry to London was terrible with a crappy old coach which was very noisey and cramped and no comfort stops before the hotel in London- very sub par! The European tour was excellent, with good accommodation, meals and attractions. Weather read more was generally very good. Detailed route maps for each day's coach travel would have been an advantage, particulary on the long coaching days. Would definitely do this tour again.
Very happy with the tour 1 Scenic Slovenia & Croatia , Australia, May 2012
Very happy with the Cosmos tour to Slovenia & Croatia. The tour director was excellent! Accommodation was OK, some hotels were not close to town however reachable by public transport. Beautiful places to visit. This is the second time we have used Global Journeys and we are very happy with the service. And this is our fourth Cosmos trip to date.
Whole experience exceeded my expectations 1 Trans-American Adventure , Australia, May 2012
The tour was excellent and the tour director was especially efficient and thorough, providing detailed information and maps on all places we visited. She was even on hand to see tour members off on optional extra excursions. The whole experience exceeded my expectations.
I have always thoroughly enjoyed the experience with Cosmos 1 Trans-American Adventure , Australia, May 2012
I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and found it to be excellent value for money. The variety of places visited from big cities to attractions in the west such as Cody, Pierre and Mount Rushmore. Yellowstone National Park was a great highlight, where we were lucky enough to see numerous bison, a black and also a grizzly bear plus numerous other wildlife in read more the area as well as the the magnificent scenery. Frances, the tour director was most attentive and efficient and the driver, Nancy was excellent. I have been on several Cosmos tours and would thoroughly recommend them as I have always thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
