We have just returned home after a great 7 weeks away. One of the highlights was the Jewels of Slovenia & Croatia trip. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour, especially the weather, after being in the cold and wet of Ireland and England. Overall the tour was very well organised, we were happy with the Tour Director , the driver was excellent and the coach read more first class. The accommodation was very good although in most instances a long way out of town. We had a problem at Dubrovnic where our room was above the very noisy hotel beer garden and the final dinner provided at Plitvice was not up to standard. The itinerary and commentary provided gave us a splendid insight into recent problems in this part of the World. We would like to see Lake Bled added to this tour. Overall we would thoroughly recommend this tour.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Cosmos British Isles in Depth Tour and the European Masterpiece Tour that we recently did. Everything was so well organised thanks to Georgie and Global Journeys. Everything ran very smoothly and Cosmos were very professional and well organised. Everyday of the tours was busy and we did the two longest Cosmos tours one after read more another so we did come home very exhausted but we saw so many different places. We would have no hesitation in recommending Global Journeys to our family and friends.

Highlights of Morocco

My trip to Morocco was amazing. Our tour director did an excellent job as she really had a thorough knowledge of the country. We were lucky to see such contrasts in the country as we experienced snow in Iffran and onto the heat of the Sahara. The hotels we stayed in were excellent. As a single traveller I was expecting to have to share a room but this read more wasn't the case and was happy to get my own room for all of the tour. There was plenty of free time for doing a bit of shopping or exploring on our own. The coach driver also did an excellent job. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to experience something a little different.
Couldn't have asked for anything better - except more of the same. Our Tour Director Stefano was great. I honestly think the tour was incredible value for money. I had an absolute ball!

The tour was enjoyable though too fast paced some days. The accommodation was generally of a high standard with good included meals. Our tour director and driver were both professional and very knowledgeable. We had a good mix of people who all got on well and definitely added to the overall experience!

Turkey is a very different country. Cities are teeming with people, beautiful parks and mosques. The only thing I found difficult to cope with was being pestered to go to carpet shops etc to buy. Beautiful country to drive through. The houses in the rocks and the underground city were amazing. Would have liked more time to explore Basra. The option read more to do a balloon flight would have been great.

Paris, Normandy and the Loire

Don & I had a great tour and could not fault the service of our tour leader, Riccardo Cammelloni and our Driver, Dominique. Both were just fantastic and offered service beyond expectations. The coach was very comfortable and the tour group a good mix of people. Riccardo ensured we received excellent coverage of the history and interests of each site read more visited whilst at the same time giving us the opportunity to explore ourselves. The provision of battery operated tour guides was fantastic and these were used both with Riccardo's commentary as well as other guides employed for specific sites and tours. The pace of the tour was comfortable and generally accommodation satisfactory. The Ibis at Deauville was not up to anyone's expectations, especially the dinner and Riccardo will most probably have reported his own dissatisfaction to Cosmos. Otherwise the accommodation and dinners provided met expectations. The optional Welcome Dinner in Paris on the first night was great fun and what a super venue. A true introduction to Paris. The other optional dinner whilst we stayed in Amboise at a little family restaurant we found very good and a true indication of French life and dining. We feel Riccardo was not truly satisfied but the general reception by the touring group was good. We were so happy with our first coach tour that we feel we will take another sometime in the future and Cosmos will be top of our list for consideration. Our tour guide was very informative and our bus driver friendly and a good driver. I did enjoy this tour and although short I would recommend it. The accommodation was very good except for Niagara but it was clean and in a convenient location. The hotel was worn and in need of a revamp, which the new owners have in mind to do.
As my first solo travel experience, I am pleased to say that I had an absolutely great time. I was apprehensive as to who I would or would not meet. But I met a group of awesome friends and we had a blast. The tour guide Al Lepore was incredible and handled the tour directing excellently. I have been recommending Cosmos and Globus tours to any of my friends looking to travel.

Overall this tour was excellent for its price. The accommodation provided was unexpectedly fantastic for the price of tour. My main downfall of the tour would be the timing as it fell on the Epiphany and during the weekend a lot of places were closed and on those days we had no sightseeing options. I had a great time and made some new friends. I would read more not hesitate to recommend others and perhaps i would choose a longer tour next time as it was extremely fun.

Having never been on a guided tour before, we had some reservations and didn't really know what to expect. There are also problems with taking 3 teenagers, as they can either make or break the experience depending on how much they are enjoying themselves! But we shouldn't have worried at all. Craig, our tour guide, was absolutely brilliant. Extremely read more knowledgeable, and really good at keeping the whole group engaged and interacting. We learnt so much, not just about the places we were visiting, but also about the places we were just passing through. His experience showed, and he quickly found out who liked what, so when we arrived at destinations he could point people in the direction that would most interest them - either places of interest, dining opportunities, child-orientated stuff, or shopping (my personal favourite!). The pace of the tour was excellent, just when we were despairing of packing up every morning and moving on to the next town, we had a couple of 3 night stays which broke up the trip, and we could recharge the batteries. The coach driver Jason was a perfect gentleman and always polite and friendly, helping us on and off the coach, and a very safe driver. All in all, a thoroughly wonderful experience, and we would certainly consider another tour in the future as one of the easiest and stress-free ways to travel.

The Best of Britain & Ireland

The routes taken by our crew were off the general 'touristy' roads, giving us more idea of the local countryside and better scenery opportunities. Some accommodation was not climate controlled, and if allocated the ground floor, there was no security if windows were opened. Dublin hotel was on the main street and was affected by large trucks going past read more all night to park up at the ferry docks. Tour guide and coach driver would have to be the best I have ever come across, very patient, knowledge was amazing, and a pleasure to be in their company.

Having not done a Cosmos tour before I was unsure what to expect & with my mother never been overseas & approaching 60 I had some concerns about how she would travel on a tour, but right from the beginning, inquiring & booking with Frances my mind was set at ease, she handled everything for me & answered all my queries promptly & efficiently. She was read more always lovely, very polite & most helpful. Our tour guide Doug was extremely knowledgeable & I feel I gained more from the experience having listened to him. The coach driver Adrian was always a gentleman & a wonderful drive, we always felt safe & the coach was always immaculate!! The hotel staff & Cosmos consultants were all most helpful! The tour was very high paced & we would have liked a little longer in each place but that was the nature of the tour we chose & we really did get so see a lot in the time we had so we got the most out of it. Mum is already planning her next trip she enjoyed it so much!! And I cannot wait to be embarking on further travel of my own soon also. Thanks so much again for your amazing service & professionalism :)

Good mixture of people. Excellent tour Guide - Leo Zaal. Hotel accommodation and location could have been a little better. Food was average. Would definitely do another Cosmos tour, perhaps a longer tour.

First of all a BIG thankyou to Yvonne who helped me organise my tour and my flights. It meant it was organised with ease and she was so helpful that I would definitely recommend Global Journeys. This was my first tour overseas, and I was by myself. Interestingly I was the only person (other then the Tour Director and the Driver) who spoke French. The read more Cosmos tour I participated in was the Grand Tour of France. This was such a great experience. The tour itself was on during the low season (December 2011) but, this was great. The tour was run with only 13 other people on the tour. This meant that the pace of the tour was neither slow nor fast, and with only 13 people to keep a track of, the Tour Director (Riccardo, he made the tour so enjoyable and hilarious) was able to provide us with a great informative experience. Plus it meant that the 13 of us were like a little family. As I said I enjoyed the tour, and I would probably travel with Cosmos again, there really only were only minor problems. I paid for an airport transfer, but none ever came to pick me up. I rang Cosmos and I was told to work this out with my tour director. Reading the book that came with the tour, I believe as my flight had a delayed arrival after 1400 I was unable to get my transfer.
The other thing people should be aware of is the hotels. For the most part the hotels were perfectly fine. In fact I was pleasantly surprised (I recommend looking up all the hotels on Tripadvisor before you go, just so you know what they are like.) However, the tour drops into Lyon, but it isn't really Lyon and you don't get to see Lyon, so don't expect that. The hotel is so far out that all you can do is go to sleep. The only other hotel I had a problem with was the Ibis Avignon we stayed in, my experience was the bed was a board. But it was only one night. Also The Forest Hill in Porte de la Villette is not as bad as some reviews say, but Cosmos could have somewhere better for people to stay in on tour. The lift broke with fellow travellers in it. Most hotels had free wifi but Park Inn at Nice makes you pay for wifi, something like 6 Euro an hour.
The biggest bonus I had with the hotel rooms was that I only paid for a single/share for the tour but all the other singles paid for a single room so I had a room to myself for the whole tour, which was lovely. All in all I had the best time, the Tour Director, Riccardo was lovely, hilarious and helpful and the driver Ammarah always helped us out of the coach, and had some of the best driving skills I have ever seen. He managed to drive through fog over the alps. Impressive. I honestly cannot think of anything beyond little things that I didn't like, and as long as you do your research so you know what hotels are like in Europe (actually mine were larger then I expected, bigger than a postage stamp). I recommend the tour as an introduction to France as it gives you a broader view than just Paris, and the people of France were so lovely to us (as long as you try with French you are set).

As a winter tour we spent far too many hours travelling in the bus. The tour could have possibly gone over 16-18 days rather than 15. I would also like to express my appreciation of the tour guide as I had food poisoning while on the tour and she went well beyond her role as guide to assist me.

The tour was so well organised and excellent value for money. The hotels were better than expected. I met some really nice people, some of which friendship will continue. I had a really great holiday and will certainly do another Cosmos tour. Since my return only ten days ago I have been recommending the Cosmos tours to everyone that I work with and read more all if my friends and relatives, so you can expect a huge influx in bookings.
