Wonderful trip. Very good mix of people and ages. Excellent tour leader and coach driver. 2 satisfied Kiwis who have recommended your tour to friends. Only disappointment was lack of a group photo which we have not received.
Great 11 day trip around Tasmania 5Perfect TasmaniaIan Anderson, ACT, Australia, Oct 2016
The trip highlights included, Hobart, the Russell Falls (Mt. Field National Park), Cradle Mountain, Launceston, Bicheno and the Freycinet National. The Tour accommodation was excellent, the Tour Director and Driver were also great. Especially the Tour Driver, his excellent local knowledge was brilliant. I'd recommend Global Journeys and AAT Kings to read more everyone looking for a great holiday!
Worry free and wonderful trip around Tasmania 5Perfect TasmaniaDianne Davies, WA, Australia, Oct 2016
This was my first trip alone after losing my Husband 3 years ago. I was very nervous but as soon as I arrived at the hotel I felt at ease. The whole trip was amazing and I would recommend it to other travellers. It was my first trip with AAT Kings and I certainly would travel with them again. Our coach was excellent and our Coach Driver was like read more an Encyclopedia with the knowledge he had. Our Tour Guide was also excellent and we never had to wait for anything, she was on the ball all the time. The accommodation around Tasmania was excellent. My fellow travellers were all very nice and we all got on very well. We had a mixture of Australians, English and Americans and it was great getting to know them all.
When I booked this holiday, I wasn't sure about the time of year but I went prepared for everything and we got everything, including snow up on Cradle Mountain and it was glorious. Coming from Western Australia, we don't get snow, so it didn't bother me at all. My only disappointment was at the end of our tour and we visited the Mono Museum. I felt it isn't everyone's cup of tea and to be able to do something else as others went there would have been better. Other than that I had a fabulous time and would recommend it to future travellers. This is my second time booking through Global Jounreys and once again I haven't been disappointed. Everything fell into place and no upsets. Thank you. Happy Traveller from Perth, Western Australia.
Worry free western wonderland 4Western WonderlandLibby, NSW, Australia, Oct 2016
Western Wonderland was the name of the tour run by AAT Kings and that is what is was. We were well looked after by our great tour director and also had a very good driver who took pride in keeping his coach very clean. The area this tour covered was the south of WA and up to Monkey Mia and we were lucky enough to have pretty good weather and also to read more see wildflowers. I do advise to be prepared with jackets for how windy it can get throughout that region. Do be prepared for long days of travelling due to the distances between towns but there are plenty of stops to see sights. Thanks to Global Journeys for the ease of doing my bookings.
Highly recommend this tour. Guides knowledgeable, punctual and helpful. Stayed two nights at Aurora Resort where the room was spacious and comfortable but dinner at night was average and breakfast expensive. Recommend taking a packet of muesli bars and and some bananas and waiting for the morning tea stop. A good mix of activities during each day: billabongs, read more rock art, river cruises. Very special day in Arnham Land—a surprisingly different landscape from Kakadu—where we visited Injalak Arts Centre to watch the local indigenous people working on various creative projects: painting, basket-making, silk-screen fabric printing, all items made to a very high standard and for sale in the air-conditioned shop. Our day finished with a late lunch (excellent) under trees beside a beautiful billabong. This tour is definitely good value for money.
Top End Highlights 2Top End HighlightsHilary Seddon, New Zealand, Aug 2016
The hotels were a mixture but the highlight was the last night at the Wilderness Lodge. Really lived up to expectations. The best bit of the tour was the dinner cruise at Katherine Gorge. The scenery was spectacular and the food was the best on the trip (they really made a great effort for the vegetarians). Was not impressed with the first night in read more Darwin - The Vibe is expensive and there are so many nice hotels to choose from in Darwin that I would rather stay somewhere more friendly. Darwin is a lovely city and I cannot wait to return. I did not take the optional excursions.
Very enjoyable introduction to Western Australia. Both Mark, our driver and Angelika the tour director went out of their way to ensure things went smoothly. There were some fairly long road stretches but the views of spectacular wildflowers, Angelika's commentary on some of the more colourful moments in the area's past and the extremely comfortable read more coach made for a pleasant journey. Accommodation was generally good quality and the meals were uniformly excellent. Highlights would include the friendly dolphins at Monkey Mia, stopping at the Pinnacles rock formations and the amazing show of wildflowers.
Amazing Kimberley experience 4Untamed KimberleyAlison & Barry Waller, NSW, Australia, Aug 2016
Our entire trip from day 1 was really well done. AAT Kings were professional, personal, experienced, helpful, patient with those less able to look after themselves & generally gave us information on what was happening every day, (no one needed to wonder about what was going to happen.) Our tour guide was always giving us information & details on the read more places we were either passing by, going to visit or staying at. We learnt so much each day about the roads, scenery, indigenous populations & history - both indigenous & more recent, we spent lots of time learning about the people who came to these areas & how they got there.
All of it was enlightening & interesting. Our driver was exceptional, everyone felt confident about his driving ability, he was also friendly, helpful, informative and nothing was too much trouble for him. The bus was always kept clean. Our accommodation was always good - sometimes better than we expected, our food each day was always fresh and many of the meals were top quality, there was always plenty of food. We have seen incredible scenery & places in this amazing country of ours. We had a sensational holiday !
Highly Recommended! The trip highlights were the Katherine Gorge, Emma Gorge, Ord River cruise at sunset and the Lake Argyle stop. We would definitely travel with AAT Kings again and book through Global Journeys again online as it was trouble free and very easy to book. The Accommodation and food was excellent, especially the El Questo stay over in read more the Cockburn Ranges. We recommend August as a perfect time to travel in this part of the world as it is late in the Dry Season and not too hot.
Wonders of the Kimberley - The Easy Way 3Wonders of the KimberleyPhilip & Robyn Vine, NSW, Australia, Aug 2016
The Kimberley's is something you must see, it is amazing . A coach tour takes the stress out of it. Our tour group was good and agreeable.
Amazing trip of the Kimberley's 1Wonders of the KimberleyPamela Roderick, WA, Australia, Aug 2016
I always wanted to do this trip and absolutely loved it. The tour was very well organised and guided. The food and accommodation very good, though I thought Fitzroy Crossing was pretty basic. I do realise it is a small town, so maybe a different stop could be considered. Our guide Liz and driver Warren were incredible and made all the difference to read more the trip, even serving up lovely morning/afternoon tea with bickies/ lamingtons etc.- I called them the " Gloria Jeans and Star Buck " duo. Thank you Michelle for keeping me well informed every step of the way. The group on the tour were very friendly and helpful, a great bunch. The cruises down the gorges were beautiful, the sussets and scenery just amazing. All in all a great tour, full marks to Global Journeys.
This was a tour that we had wanted to do for a long time and we found it to be excellent with spectacular scenery, great cruises and other wonderful inclusions. Our group was generally of retirement age but included two young AAT Kings Travel Consultants from Sydney who joined us to gain knowledge and experience of such a tour. The whole group mixed read more well together, was always organised and this contributed to the trip. We were very appreciative of the efforts of our Tour Director Dave and Driver Warren who went out of their way to ensure that the tour was enjoyed by everyone.
Because of the remoteness of the area we travelled through some days were long but others easier. The accommodation and meals varied but generally were very good considering where we were .Possibly we were a bit spoilt by starting at Cable Beach Club Resort. The tented cabins at Emma Gorge were different but very comfortable, and as there is no TV or phone coverage resulted in a couple of early nights. I would like to thank Georgie for her effortless handling of all tour arrangements. This is a trip that everybody should do at some stage and I would highly recommend AAT Kings for the tour they provided. Similarly Global Journeys is the only way to go.
Although we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 days it was not an actual tour as advertised, but a mix of tours, this was very disappointing. There was no informal meeting together before our first outing - we were told which bus we had to get onto and that was it. As we thought we had booked for a 'tour' we expected to be with the same group of people and have read more the same tour guide and or driver all the time. An important part of joining tours is getting to know each other. Maybe we had not read the information clearly but we were also surprised that none of our meals were included. Having early starts breakfast should have been included. The second half of the trip was with the same driver/tour manager, Byrone, and he was excellent. Our night at Kings Canyon could have been organised by AAT Kings for us all to eat together as a group but this did not happen.
(GJ. Thanks for your feedback Barbara. All short breaks are independent tours - as they leave daily - so people start and leave depending on their travel dates. Some clients prefer this, some like you, prefer the group comradery. We do state that these trips are independent, however perhaps we could make it even clearer! Thanks for your thoughts.)
We would like to give some reasons behind our ratings in some instances. eg accommodation was hard to rate as it changed dramatically from site to site & we would have rated it excellent if all the places we stayed at were like Cable Beach & Mantra in Darwin. However all other sites were just average with El Questro different but nothing special so read more where does that leave us? We fully appreciate the fact that accommodation on the road had very limited choices through the individual towns remoteness. As far as value for money goes if we paid full price its would have been maybe pretty good but we got a significant discount so it was very good!
Tour pace was a bit hectic but we had massive distances to travel so its was OK. This fact was made better because we had a very good group who appreciated the need for cooperation & his helped a lot. Not sure how it would have gone if the coach was full & the crowd difficult but gladly that wasn't the case. The Tour Guide was very experienced & worked very well with everybody & that helped as well. We have gone on a number of overseas coach tours where it was expected that we tipped both the tour guide & driver but apparently that's not expected here in Australia. However I asked our group if they thought if our driver & tour guide where worth tipping & most agreed it was & I was pleased to be able to show our gratitude with about $100 each which was appreciated.
We where both very pleased with this tour & glad that we chose Global Journeys to take care of us & are very appreciative of all Emily's & the rest of the teams hard work. Unfortunately we are now probably past coach tours & are therefore unlikely to look at Global Journeys for any further holidays of this type or with anybody else for that matter. On top of that there are virtually no more hidden treasures awaiting us as we have pretty much done them all here in Australia. There are plenty of other alternatives left when we consider the rest of the world but these will need a win in Lotto before we can afford it. Still you never really know & Global Journeys will be the first port of call if something changes & opportunity knocks. Cheers & thank you all.
The coach was not one of AAT Kings fleet and was not of the same class as the ones which we have travel on before. I have spoken with AAT Kings about the problems on the coach. I would however travel with AAT Kings again and would book with Global Journeys.
11 Day Untamed Kimberley (AAT Kings) 7Untamed KimberleyKerry & Lorraine Renkema, NSW, Australia, Jun 2016
Our 11 day untamed Kimberley holiday with AAT Kings was excellent, great accommodation with variations, Nellie was excellent in helping everyone, especially those of us who needed special diets, Rolfe was a very good driver, they both went out of their way to accommodate everyone and especially with those extra things like taking us to see the Boab read more trees at sunset for some great photos, it was lovely to be able to have two drinks with our dinner every night, overall we were very pleased with our holiday.
Well paced 4 day tour to top end highlights in comfortable coach. Only 20 passengers on trip which made it easy to move around all sites. Very knowledgable guide who cared for all passengers and helpful throughout the trip. Comfortable accommodation. Weather was hot but manageable at this time of year. Recommend this trip to all ages.

The entire holiday ran like clockwork from original planning, contacting Michelle to make the booking knowing how smoothly the arrangements for my New Zealand trip with AAT Kings had been because of her diligence, meeting up with Liz and Mark who were both efficient and proficient at their jobs while being such fun to travel with made for a very enjoyable read more adventure that I'll never forget.
Absolutely loved my day at the Horizontal Falls, the bus was comfortable but the food was not so good but overall really enjoyed the trip!
Big bucket list tick 5Untamed KimberleyJim & Colleen, SA, Australia, May 2016
We had a near perfect-time on a holiday we've wanted to do for years. Tour guide Dave added to the enjoyment, along with seeing the stunning landscapes of the region. A personal highlight (Colleen) was the Ord River cruise, along with Kununurra and the irrigation areas there. Late May was a great time to go, with a whole bus-load of friendly companions. read more Easy on the legs, with a few optional challenges. Our recommendation - don't delay, you won't regret a moment.
